I'm currently overseas doing some volunteer work so I haven't had the chance (nor the reliable Internet access) to check up on RPR. I was at a cafe today and I just happened to check my e-mails when I received a message from an RPR user asking me when the site was coming back up. Since I did not know it was down to begin with, I was obviously concerned but I wasn't too worried. I'll just go home, grab my laptop, go to a wifi spot, then restart the server. I did all that and then... nothing. Since I haven't touched RPR at all over the last few weeks, I realized that this was a new problem I haven't encountered before and I start getting that sinking feeling that I have no idea what's going on and this is going to take me all day. I went through everything I could think of and I was about to open a support ticket with the server company when I thought to check one more thing. Turns out, somehow, the permissions for a critical server file was denying access to the webserver. No idea what caused it but I changed the permissions and that was it! Hour long heart attack over. I made a change so that issue hopefully doesn't happen again. Sorry if you were in the middle of roleplaying with your friends. I'll make it up to you guys when I get back.
