@Dagon Levi was starting to really hate that guy.

@Levi Dagon's gaze flickered over to Levi, one eyebrow slightly raised in a hardened expression. He took a leisurely drag and blew the smoke in the other's direction. "Hoping to build a resistance," he responded evenly. "So when goes up in flames, it's the alcoholic s like you who go first."
He turned away and strode swiftly to his car, wasting no time in starting it and pulling out of the lot. He thought furiously about this whole underground prospect on the way home.

@Dagon Levi raised his eyebrows slightly at the flick of the lighter. The cocky in him was itching to make a comment.
"You going for lung cancer, or is this just part of your mysterious bad boy image?" He remarked.

@Briar Dagon wasn't about to over stay his welcome, and as soon as he was prompted, he left swiftly, a little miffed when that Levi kid followed him into the elevator. They rode down in stony silence. Dagon's eyes briefly flitted over Levi's appearance. His lip was bloody (he assumed from Chance punching him in the face) and he had quite a bruise on the side of his neck.
Dagon stared straight ahead and didn't give a about what this guy did in his spare time. He knew his type, and he'd heard plenty about the rookie and his off-the-track habits.
The second he could walk out of the building and the night air hit his face, his lighter was out and flickering to life.

@Jared Briar snorted. "Take him to an underground circuit. He'll look like an angel. But it's his own risk if he loses his pinks." Stepping down, she turned to Dagon. "You're free to go, dear." She waved him off, eyes drifting back to Jared.

That intrigue is what kept Dagon hovering near the exit. The little slip of information that he'd file away to dwell on later. He knew about small time illegal races, one on one cannonballs through the streets of the city. But there were whispers of something bigger going on beneath the sanctioned circuit, something not even Chance could tell him much about.
Bigger races meant bigger payouts. Maybe this was his in.

@Jared Levi glanced up at him (goddammit he felt like a kid standing next to this guy) and smirked slightly. He hadn't raced in anything he would consider underground. Just a couple one on one glory races on the track or out in the desert. He was curious to get on the scene. Wondered what kind of stakes it entailed.

@Briar Jared smiled. That's why he kept her around.

"I'll take care of him. Make sure he doesn't do anything too stupid. And you'll make sure Butch doesn't ruin things for himself. Actually...." Jared remembered the way Butch had leered at Briarleigh. "I'll take care of him too."

"That means you won't be able to use that move on the track. However," Jared grinned toothily at Burke. "There is always the underground."

@Briar Levi took a step back, hands raised palms forward in a gesture of surrender. "Okay," he responded. "Sheesh."

@Jared Briar stared at Jared for several long seconds. "Fine, but he's your problem." She glanced away. Her eyed landed on Levi, stomping up to him with hands on her hips. "And you pull risky like that and cause trouble around here you'll get it, understand?

Dagon was so close to the door, he could walk out. There was no reason for him to hang around any longer. His business was finished. Something kept him from leaving, however. His fingers worried at his lighter in the pocket of his jeans.

@Jared Levi raised his eyebrows. "As long as I still get what you promised me before," he said. What drew him here in the first place.

@Briar Jared sighed. "You know I trust your judgment, Briarleigh, that's why you're co-owner, but I believe he's just as good as Dagon, although a little more reckless. We'll...." he hesitated, "work out another contract." He hated admitting he was wrong.

"It will still be good for you," Jared added to Burke.

@Jared The redhead rolled her eyes. "Graham was a risk off the track, not a rule breaker. This kid pulls a stunt like that and gets someone hurt and you're as good as done." She stepped up to him. "I thought you trusted my judgement?"

@Jared Levi's expression became more neutral. He wasn't sure if that was a compliment or an insult or just constructive criticism.
So he just cleared his throat and nodded.

@Briar "You thought Gary Buck, or whatever his name is, was a good risk. This kid," Jared jerked his thumb over his shoulder, "is so much better than him. He's a damn good driver, and he's not afraid to take risks. Although," he said as he glanced over his shoulder, addressing Burke, "you shouldn't wreck your car like that. Gutsy move though."

@Jared "Proposal?" She questioned with the raising of a perfectly arched brow. "What kind of proposal?" She nodded to the kid. "That? Do you honestly think that is a risk you should take?" The redhead stood her ground, waiting for Jared to make a point.

Dagon rolled his eyes. This was ing fantastic. Would he ever get out of this office?
He met Levi's gaze as the rookie walked in, smug expression plastered on his face. Dagon honestly didn't give two s whether they were both being recruited. This wasn't about any goddamn glory trip. It was business.

@Jared Levi followed close behind, unable to keep the entitled smirk off his face. Dagon won the race, sure, but De Haven recognized talent where he saw it.

@Briar Jared strode into his office, hoping Briarleigh was still there. Sure enough, she was there with Dagon. He raised an eyebrow at the distance between the two of them, but didn't say anything.

"Briarleigh, I have a proposal to make."

@Briar Great, the smell-the-roses speech. Dagon was a little sick of people assuming they knew anything about him. He raised his eyebrows and grit his teeth, staring straight ahead without a word.

@Dagon Briar shrugged a petite shoulder. "If you say so. But I simply meant I wouldn't mind helping you pick one out. Don't take everything so serious, Dagon. Sometimes we need a little pick me up."

@Briar "I can handle it," he said begrudgingly. He wouldn't take handouts. He'd figure it out.

@Dagon "Of course if you don't have one, just say the word. We would be happy to aid in providing one." She smiled to him as they walked.

@Briar A suit, huh? He'd have to scrounge one up somewhere.
He stood and followed her, already reaching for his lighter.

@Dagon "Yes, we're done. But don't be surprised if you're called up for publicity events. So make sure you got a suit on hand, okay?" She offered him a smile, slipping down from her pedestal. She gave his shoulder a squeeze and headed for the door.

@Briar He raised an eyebrow and took the contract from her, flipping through it and scanning it for anything questionable. For the most part, it seemed fine. He'd get access to better cars and mechanics to ensure he had better chances of winning, as well as the exposure to keep improving, and as long as he kept winning he'd get paid better. He could pull it off.
Calmly, he picked up a pen and signed on the line, then handed it back to her. "We done here?"

@Dagon Briar walked with confidence into the office. Her back straight and head held high, she knew she had everything in the bag. She went straight in, picking up the contract. Sitting on the wood desk with crossed legs, she held it out to Dagon. "You did it, so now it's all yours."
