@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Smiling at the other's small gesture of accepting his tub of ice cream - which he had painstakingly picked out from his fridge as it was too, his favourite flavour but he concluded that Wendy probably needed it more. Plus, she would've thrown a tantrum if he hadn't brought her anything, even if going for lunch would placate her. He reached in for a small metal spoon and pressed it into her palm, eyes still on the road. "I'd normally say not dessert before lunch, but you asked for it so-" He chuckled softly, hoping that the girl would open up the tub of ice cream to eat and turn the sullen face into an excited one - and possibly feed him some too. He was hungry.
Yixing watched as Wendy looked through the menu, eyes following the way she moved and how her actions seemed to show her emotions. He already knew what he was going to order, so he settled for blankly staring at her, thinking what if, what if they had broken all contact after breaking up. He shivered, shaking his thoughts out of his mind and smiled up at the girl. "I'll have the pizza with ham and mushrooms, and a glass of iced water." He nodded, looking up at the waiter and returning him the menu that he hadn't opened.
"Wendy.." He started slowly. "Have you been.. okay?"
@[i] lay How could she not rely Yixing or distance herself away? Wendy wondered as she turned to look at the cold surface of her favourite icecream pressed it gently against her warm skin. "Thank you, xing-ah." She said with a tiny smile, taking the tub of sweet goodness from him before she stared out the window again, deep in her own thoughts. The thing about Yixing was how he knew her inside out, like the things she liked and disliked, the things she would do when she had a broken heart (even though he broke it countless time) and how to fix it or how he knew what she was thinking without her needing to speak about it. Yixing was someone she figured no one could ever replace even if he didn't have time for her as time went past. Some say first loves were hard to forget, Yixing was a person definitely true to that saying.
Vivapolo was a place Wendy frequented with her friends, it was an oddly comforting place she found out. There was sense of familiarity the moment she walked in - which somehow made her feel like crying because it might have also been one of the places where she used to go on dates- and took a sit. "I''ll just have the carbonara pasta and a glass of coke." She announced without flipping through the menu much, then leaning her chin on her palm as she stared at Yixing, waiting for him to order his share.
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] As he stopped at the traffic light, pressing on the brakes, he quickly opened the light blue bag, and took out the ice cream. "Here," the boy said in an offhand voice, urging Wendy to take it by putting it near her face. He glanced at her before looking back at the road where the maroon light turned green again, feeling empty that the other was so unresponsive and curt. He felt like it hadn't been weeks or months ever since Tao and Wendy's breakup, but instead a day after the separation of the two. It felt suffocating and depressing. Yixing was at a loss of what to do - he hadn't been very close to the girl as of late. He didn't like that she looked broken, on closer view, and berated himself for not taking the initiative long ago to get her out of the house. He just wished- he just wished that she'd be able to rely on him the same way she had in the past.
Nodding, and driving off into the direction he had so often gone towards. Pulling up at the front of his group mate's mother's store, he parked the car and stepped out of the quiet place. He jogged lightly over to Wendy's door and opened it for her as he slipped his phone into his back pocket and wallet in with it. Yixing stepped into the familiar, quaint store, and sat Wendy down before taking a seat opposite her. "Let's order quickly," the boy said quietly. Then as an afterthought he added, "I'm hungry."
@[i] lay "Oh hush.. please." Wendy said instantly at the other's reply, looking out the window instead. she was never upset with Yixing, she could never be upset with him. How could she? She knew clearly that if she wanted Yixing to be around these past weeks she could have simply given the male a call or dropped a text and he would have appeared but it was clear that she didn't want him to be around.. or anyone infact. She was quite adverse with the idea of calling him everytime something happened to her, everytime she needed someone to pick up the broken fragments of her heart and piece them back together or wipe her tear-stained face, Yixing was her best friend but he also had his own life to lead what more when her was going to marry Luhan. Somehow, Wendy felt like she should have started distancing herself a while back so that could keep their relationship at bay, so that she could stop relying on him for the comfort she sought.
With the momentarily awkward paused, Wendy sighed inwardly, not used to the sudden awkward silence between them. " Let's go to Chanyeol's mother's shop. I'm feeling pasta today." She said after clearing , also because it was one of the places Yixing and her could find more privacy and eating in peace without having fans or paparazzis around constantly eyeing them like a hawk eyeing on their prey.
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Slipping into the driver's seat in the car that he could call his, Yixing noticed a bright blue cooler bag in which he had put an ice cream in earlier, before he left the comforts of his apartment. With the sound of Wendy's voice trailing off, he couldn't help but notice the girl's hesitation and sudden cutting off from him, and he didn't like it one bit. He watched as the other shook her head lightly and said something else, as if she had almost slipped a secret out. Frowning at her behaviour but not saying anything about it, Yixing drove the car out of the apartment carpark and started out on the road.
Putting a smile back on his face, the boy smiled as he heard the next few words. Hesitation disappearing from her voice, he nodded and passed the past comment as something that she was just uncomfortable saying. "From past experiences," he started. "I learnt that you take an hour preparing." Yixing said in a teasing tone. "Let's go have lunch!" He said excitedly, forgetting about his worries about how lonely and bare Wendy's apartment had felt. As long as he could lift her spirits up for now, it'd be okay. "I havent," he said miserably, sparing a glance at the other. "But I'll make it up to you."
@[i] lay "I do not, it's just been a while..." 'since I properly went out with someone' Wendy wanted to say but decided that Yixing didn't need to know her recently unhealthy habit of cooping herself up and how much she hadn't been taking care of herself, especially since the Yixing she knew would start fretting and worrying about her and she didnt want that, so instead, she opted to say something else "..since you dated a girl to know long she ever needs to get ready, Xing-ah." Wendy retorted, rolling her eyes in a playful manner as she batted his hands away gently.
Wendy turned to him, mouth open with her arms crossed over her chest. "I thought you knew where we going, Xing-ah, You're the one who wanted to go out." She whined softly, her lips forming into a little pout. If Yixing weren't the other party, she probably wouldn't even go out. "You decide. Don't you need to get something.. or eat something.. lunch was it? You woke me up for it!" She continued with her sulking. At other next statement, she sighed softly. "Yixing.. you know you've always been there. If you're worried about me being upset... then I forgive you."
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] "I won't be lonely with you," he called back, smiling cheekily and turning his face to face the voice in the bedroom. Looking back at the blank television screen in front of him, he frowned, shaking his head. He hadn't realised Wendy had been feeling devastated and horrible - and he was just an ignorant best friend. He didn't like it. Staring blankly at the blank wall that used to carry memories of the both of them, he vowed to himself to be a better friend, and to alleviate her worries and whatnot.
Just as Wendy stepped out from her room, Yixing stood up as he finished the can of coke he had taken a while ago. "You still take forever to get ready," he chuckled softly, patting the other's hair carefully, so as to not ruin it.
"Because I haven't been out with you for ages, I'll let you decide." Yixing smiled sheepishly at the other. "And for not being there when you really needed it." He said genuinely, leading her down to the carpark and to where his car had been parked.
@[i] lay "Oh, I heard. You must be lonely" Wendy replied teasingly with a little nod of her head even though Yixing couldn't see it, no wonder he had time to pay her a visit and no wonder he was feeling restless, all these past years, it seemed like he never changed a single bit. She closed her eyes for a moment and she felt a sudden gush of emotions accompanied with the bittersweet memories in her mind. She couldn't but to think of the 'what if(s)', what if Yixing and her were still dating, would she have been in this current state, moping over another guy, it was a selfish thought. But then again, she was also somewhat glad Yixing had found Luhan vice-versa, she was definitely genuinely happy for both of them.
Stepping out from her room, she look slightly fresher, there were colours in her cheeks rather then pale ones she had early on. Despite it being a completely facade, having a mask was better than not having anything, no one needed to know how broken she was inside aside from herself. "Let's go, xing-ah." She motioned towards the door once she had grabbed her bag, hovering near it while she waited for the taller male. " Any idea where we're going?"
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] "Yeah, I'm just flattering you." Yixing said, seriousness plastered all over his face. "You look absolutely horrible." A teasing smile played on his lips as he walked into the apartment he hadn't been in for a very very long time. Nodding at Wendy's words, he made his way into the kitchen that looked very much like his, everything was the same except for a few addtions of flowers here and there, but other than that, everything was neat and in its place. He took out a can of coke and opened the can.
Just as Wendy went back to her room to get ready to go out, he took a seat on the couch in the living room and looked around. He noticed a blank white wall, with peeling paint and marks where things seemed to have been pasted before. Thinking back to the time where they had been dating and walking nearer to the wall thag seemed to hold many past memories, Yixing realised that this was the same wall where their pictures had been. Raising a hand to touch the wall gently, fingers shaking, he frowned, looking down at his feet. He hadn't realised this much had happened, that the wall was scratched and broken - much like how Wendy was probably feeling.
A shout from her bedroom startled him, making him shoot one last look at the bare wall, and taking his seat back on the couch. "Luhan's busy with work, his new movie." He said back, just as loudly, sighing under his breath. Although Luhan not being home meant he could spend more time with the other people important in his life, he still missed the other boy very much.
@[i] lay "You've got to be joking." Wendy deadpanned though a small genuine smile appeared on her lips for the first time in a very very long time as she invited Yixing into her apartment, closing the door behind him. "Make yourself at home, you know where the drinks are and whatever you need." Wendy said softly wondering if Yixing had notice the changes in her apartment over the years, how everytime he came the house was completely different than what is was before. Like when she first moved in was the period when Yixing and her were dating and she plastered part of her wall in the living to make it into a photo wall before the photos were all replaced with photos with her other friends when they broke up and then once again replaced when she Zitao got together but now that they were no more, the exact same spot filled with memories and more memories had been completely strip bare and was just nothing but just a piece of empty white wall just like how her heart was.
"Just gonna dust some redudant powder on my face and then we can head out okay?" She said, though not really giving the taller male a chance to reply before making her way into the her bedroom thankful that Yixing wasn't like any of her other male friends and how she could be so comfortable around him without think much. "Where's luhan?" She asked loudly from her bedroom, the question filled with much curiosity knowing that Yixing and Luhan were constantly joint at the hips (literally and figuratively.)
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Yixing smiled, turning up the volume of the radio, and tapping the top of the steering wheel to the beat as he drove leisurely to Wendy's apartment. Seeing how she was completely unresponsive to his latest messages, he knew that she was probably in the shower doing who-knows-what - and he knew better than to call or message her, a pet peeve he had picked up on when they had first started out being friends and dating a while later. Thinking back on the past two hectic weeks, he realised that not once had he called to ask how she was doing - despite knowing the breakup that occurred between her and Zitao. He felt like a horrible best friend. An unreliable, and horrible one. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Yixing found that he was already driving up to the carpark leading to the girl's apartment. He turned into the carpark and steered into the lot before unbuckling his seat belt hurriedly and locking the car door.
Despite knowing her password at the back of his mind, Yixing decided against opening the door without alerting the other - after all he shouldn't walk into her apartment whenever he liked, even if she was his best friend. As the door opened, he smiled down at Wendy, who looked fresher than she had been right after the break up - the only time they had met up for a long time.
"Hey~" He said back, smiling at the other. "You look good," he chuckled.
@[i] lay As Wendy sat in the bathtub, soaking up the warmth from the water, she let out a long sigh, how long had it been? How long had she not seen Yixing. Probably a good long month or two, she supposed, ever since she had broke up with her former boyfriend, she had kept to herself, avioded calls and texts, bubbly Wendy was never the same bubbly Wendy anymore, rather, she had shut all doors to even her best friends. Smiles were never never as radiant as they were before on and off screen. She couldn't help but to wonder why things had turned out like that. She was definitely not over it and she didn't know how long it would take or how long the struggle was going to be.
It had been a good long twenty to twenty-five minutes of silence in the bathroom before she decided it was enough, all this stupid thoughts and memories were making her even more depressed, only then she realised Yixing was probably on the way and she should get out. Giving herself a quick rinse, she got out of the tub, dressing up once she was done drying herself up then letting herself back into her bedroom.
Moving towards her phone, she opened the unread texts, shaking her head at Yixing's childish replies yet a little smile tugging the corner of her lips. Just as she was about to make her way towards the dressing table, the doorbell rang which she proceeded to answer it.
"Hey~" Was all Wendy said before inviting the older boy in. "Come in."
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Finally deciding on a packet of milo, Yixing took the straw out and poked it into the metal foil after shaking it for a little while. With his phone clutched in one hand, and his packet of drink in the other, he pushed the fridge door close with his back. He sipped on the straw, nibbling on it absentmindedly as he walked out of the kitchen and back into the living room. As an alert came from is phone breaking the silence, Yixing took a look at his phone. Reading the three messages that come in almost simultaneously, he could feel his smile growing.
Yixing [11:48am]: theyd love me even more ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌
Yixing stood up in excitement, as he read the next one over and over again. He hadn't seen Wendy in ages and it was such a timely thing that she had finally agreed to meeting him. It'd be like the times they had been together, when they had been closer together.
Yixing [11:50am]: i'll bring ice cream over o(≧∇≦o) (o≧∇≦)o
Yixing [11:51am]: just so you know youre the best
Pressing the send button, the boy stood to go get dressed in a pair of jeans, a plain shirt and a checkered button top over that. After getting ready, he grabbed his bag excitedly and walked quickly towards the carpark - almost tripping over nothing on the way to his car. As he backed out of the lot he was parked in, he drove towards Wendy's apartment, clearly elated at the prospect of just relaxing, and perhaps finding something for his and Luhan's wedding.
@[i] lay At the new message alert, Wendy snapped out of her daze, swiping her finger across the screen swiftly to open Yixing's message. At his first message, a smile couldn't help but to grace her lips - having been friends (and even once a couple) with Yixing for such a long time, she could already picture Yixing being all pouty with a slight frown on his boyish face, a funny yet adorable sight she had to admit. Just as she was about to reply with an emoticon, she received another one almost immediately, taking a quick glance at it, she laughed to herself.
Wendy [11.44am]: What would the press think if they saw this. (╯︵╰,)
Just as she sent that message, another message came in, this time it made her frown slightly. That was when Wendy realised she couldn never say no to Yixing no matter how tired she was or how ty she felt.
Wendy [11.46am]: Come fetch me in thirty minutes. If you arrive earlier and I don't answer the door, you know the passcode.
Wendy [11.46am]: I demand Icecream, just so you know.
Grinning, she got off the bed, heading to the closet to grab a simple outfit - a simple button top with shorts- before making her way to the toilet.
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] After a quick scan through of the channels he had subscribed to, Yixing had concluded that having a television at home was close to not having one at home. Not only were the shows dull and dry, but he had to pay for the bills too. Standing up, he walked sluggishly towards the kitchen - where he hoped he'd be able to find something to do. Yixing sighed. There was nothing to do! Throwing his hands up in exasperation and desperation, he opened the door of the fridge near the sink and peered into it. Bare. He really needed to do some shopping for food if he wanted to eat. Closing the door, Yixing dragged his feet out, in hopes of wasting as much time as possible until he heard a soft 'ping' from his handphone that was left on the table.
Perking up with a smile forming on his lips, he rushed out of the kitchen to pick up his phone with much excitement. He opened the message with Wendy's self-portrait, and read, eyes darting across the street. His shoulders slumped at the reply, Yixing frowned, immediately typing in a reply.
Yixing [11:44am]: (╯︵╰,)
Yixing [11:44am]: luhans not you. i wanna spend time with you.
Hoping his attempts at dragging the other out of bed was not futile, he stepped back into the kitchen where he took out a packet of crackers.
@[i] lay Wendy place her mobile phone back on the night stand before closing her eyes again to get some eye shut. It wasn't much long before soft snores could be heard from the younger girl especially since she had stayed out quite late the previous night and sleep was never enough for the said idol.
It was barely 2 mintues into her lovely sleep before there was another alert on her phone telling her that there was an incoming message, Wendy tried to ignore it for a good amount of time before there was another two incoming messages alert that completely woke her up. "It better be important" She said under her breath as she grab the pink device off the nightstand, once again opening the messages. Yixing was definitely going to pay for this.
Wendy [11.42am]: No.
Wendy [11.42am]: Where's Luhan.
Wendy [11.42am]: I'm tired. Long night :c
Done with her replies, she set the phone beside her pillow, comtemplating on whether she should go back to sleep or not, but knowing her best friend, he probably wouldn't leave her alone and text her back, so what was the point of going back to slumberland. Instead, Wendy pull off the cover and got up, leaning her back against the head board waiting for Yixing's reply.
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Being just as bored as he was five minutes ago, Yixing reverted his position to sit upright on the sofa. Pushing himself to sit comfortably on the cushioned furniture, the twenty four year old leaned forward to grab the remote control. He clasped the black frame in his hand, switching the television on, Yixing scrolled through the television channels in a lazy manner, wanting to find a channel that would keep his mind busy - but to no avail.
Reaching forward to take his phone again, he scrolled mindlessly through the three short pages he had on his phone - meticulously grouped. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Yixing liked to think that he had many things on his phone to keep him entertained, but his hunger for something fun was insatiable. An incoming message alerted him of a message, and he opened it as quick as he could. Reading the message that Wendy sent back, the best friend of the girl scoffed under his breath. Trust her to be the most sarcastic person ever - but he still loved her as a best friend.
Yixing [11:38am]: it's time for lunch already (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
Yixing [11:39am]: im bored.
Yixing [11:39am]: lets go out! ヘ(^o^ヘ)
Satisfied with his reply and proposal to bring the other out, he placed his phone back - and went back to switching channels on the television.
@[i] lay Despite it already being more than a month worth of moping since her break up with her former boyfriend, Wendy was definitely not over it, she had never once been so broken despite breaking up a couple of times. She couldn't remember when she had a good night's sleep or number of days she tried not to get herself drunk just to forget her sorrows or when she bothered to drag herself her out to meet her friends. But again, today was no exception. Having spent the previous night out in another one clubs, Wendy was dead to the world, she couldn't remember how much she drank or who brought her back - and whoever that was,she hoped was someone she knew ( especially since she had the tendancy of calling her friends to bring her home)- but whatever the case was, Wendy was not prepared to wake up from her dreamland.. but in life, she realised, you don't always get to prepare.
With the sudden buzz of her phone and a loud alert, Wendy furrowed her brows slightly followed by a loud groan, 'who.. would text her at such early hours' she thought to herself, especially with her recent cooping up at home attitude, most of her friends had given up hope in calling her out or finding out how she was since they would have never gotten a reply. Prying her eyes open, she squinted at the bright screen. Seeing Yixing's face on the unopened text, she contemplated whether she should even have opened it but she did anyway, Yixing was afterall her best-est best friend, someone she couldn't run away from, someone she relied on most of the time ( unfortunately). And without much thought, she punched in her reply.
Wendy [11.37am]:.. no but you woke me up smartypants. What's up.
With a sigh, she closed her eyes again once more, hoping she didn't sound too mean, plus the added headache wasn't helping much
@[i] wendy [hiatus till 04/03] Yixing had just come out fresh from a twenty minute long shower - bored and alone for the time being. Luhan was out, busy with his own schedule and promotions, and the younger felt at a loss without the other boy by his side. Which was somewhat detrimental, seeing that Yixing couldn't do anything without Luhan - meaning there was over reliance on the other. Determined to change that for the day, the boy slipped out of his room to plop down on the sofa in his living room. He pulled out his phone from the back pocket of his sweatpants, and scrolled through the contacts in his phone, lazily hanging his head over the sofa.
Yixing [11:27am]: wendy- are you awake yet? ( ̄▽ ̄ )
Sending the message without a second thought, the boy placed his phone back onto the table top and waited for a reply - hopefully.
@[i] [h] lay "Okay." Luhan took at least three different types of fruit, an apple, a pear, and a peach. He need to make the hunger calm so he went for something that will make it more tranquil. "Do you want one?" He asked as he placed them on the table, taking the apple to start eating. "Do you think it'll be bad if we give him of our food? He's looking at me with lost puppy eyes." Luhan pouted a bit and looked at Yixing.
@[i] luhan Yixing smiled at Luhan, nodding. "Maybe you should be a part-time photographer. For yourself and for me, and for your family." He laughed, agreeing that the older boy liked to take selfies - judging by how many he had in both his own and Yixing's phone. Hearing the low growl from his boyfriend's stomach, Yixing grinned at the sound, remembering that they hadn't eaten since lunch and it was getting late. "They're all in the fridge!" He called out from the living room, not wanting to move from his place, and continued to play with the puppy who seemed to have endless energy.
@[i] [h] lay Luhan giggled slightly and nodded. "I guess I just love singing more than taking photos. You know that I like the selfies as well so maybe I get it as a hobby to be snapping photos from time to time." He smiled and then his stomach grumbled, signaling he was hungry again. He puffed his cheeks and got up to see if there was some snack he could take to calm the hunger a bit. "Xing, do you have some fruit here in the fridge?" He asked from the kitchen since he could also make a salad or something like that.
@[i] luhan "I think you'll be a great photographer," Yixing assured the other, handing the camera back to him and nodding in approvement. "But your singing is still better." He muttered softly. Laughing slightly, Yixing nodded at Luhan. "That sounds better, I don't want to see it during our wedding." The younger smiled at the movements his lover was making, petting the puppy - who now had a name - and making it whimper in excitement. The puppy nudged Yixing's hand gently, making the boy smile.
@[i] [h] lay "Really? Do you think I'll be a good photographer?" Luhan looked at Yixing excitedly again, his hands clapping for himself. He was happy to think that there could be another thing he could do apart from just singing and dancing when they were on stage. He could take pictures and that was fantastic. "Don't worry, I won't show her anything, nor tape us doing that." He leaned to kiss Yixing's cheek and then to kiss the puppy's head. He caressed his head with his fingers and could see how the puppy closed his eyes in delight each time Luhan did it. It made him smile softly.
@[i] luhan The younger boy laughed slightly, shaking his head at Luhan's words. He could imagine the way his mom would've said it. Taking a look at the picture and humming in acknowledgement, the boy said jokingly, "The picture's good! Why don't you become a photographer instead?" Yixing flushed a slight shade of red along with Luhan at the thought of videoing the two of them kissing. He shook his head, distracting himself by playing with the puppy's paws. "I wouldn't want to either," he said softly.
@[i] [h] lay Luhan smiled brightly at Yixing, taking his camera and giving to him so he could see the photo he just got of them both. "It was a present from my mom. She told: 'If you ever have a good make out session with Yixing, please at least take a video.' And then she handed me this." He was bluhsing a deep shade of red at the statement that his mom had phrased in China. "T-Though, I wouldn't s-show her us doing that..." He played with his fingers shyly as hebñinked several time, a small pout adorning his lips.
@[i] luhan Yixing glanced at Luhan who had a bright red colour tinting both his cheeks, and smiled. "You're cute." He commented softly, not noticing the other boy take out his camera to snap a candid picture of Yixing with the little puppy. Startled by the click sound of the camera shutter, the younger looked at his lover in surprise. "Since when did you have a camera?" He asked, eyes widened while still playing with the puppy who was yapping excitedly and playing with the said boy's fingers.
@[i] [h] lay "Nothing." Luhan replied quickly before he could hide the blush creeping on his cheeks. He looked at Yixing and the puppy together, he wanted to treasure this moment forever so he decided to bring his camera and take a photo of the both of them so that he could keep it. He took the photo and smiled as he saw it, he was so happy. "Perfect picture..." He muttered more to himself and then looked back at the two of them and sat next to Yixing.
@[i] luhan Yixing looked back at Luhan who was very close to him, and smiled. "What were you trying to do?" He nudged the other cheekily, shaking his head at his antics. Filling the bowl with water, and another with a bit of food, he placed them beside the bed and stood up to look at the puppy. Yixing laughed, picking up the puppy and put him on the carpet in front of the couch before sitting in front of it to play with the puppy.
