@[i] lay Wendy frowns even more at the offer of cake, Yixing sure knows how to pacify her even if she's laying half dead on the bed and fuming mad. This part of her hates herself for not being able to be pissed at him for too long. She tries again to get up herself without the help from the other, she's barely able to push herself up but manages to shift just probably an inch or so. Depressing but at least theres little improvement.
Wendy takes a couple of glances as Yixing reaches to grab the cake from the fridge, places it on the makeshift table and then pushing it towards her. His actions are slow and sluggish, Wendy knows how tired he is. She wants to be even more pissed but the anger disappears as soon as Yixing speaks. "Of course you would." She says softly. "You know me the best." Wendy continues, catching hold of the other's finger (even though her actions are slow) and bites down on it lightly. "Punishment for not listening to me." She chides as she lets go of his finger, it may seem childish but wendy doesn't bother what others think.
@[i] wendy [sh] Yixing wakes up to a disapproving stare that masks Wendy's face, and he shifts uncomfortably in the chair, cracking his back in the process. He has always hated that particular look on Wendy's face, and strived to not be the one she looks at with disapproval. It's too scary, even if he's older, and it seems like he's the only one stuck in the room, and there's no one else to blame except for him. "Cake?" He asks, standing up to his own accord and walking over to the mini fridge so as to distract the other.
The older takes out the box that has been left there for maybe three hours, and rolls a table over to Wendy's bed. Putting the box on the wooden makeshift table, he opens it and passes the other a fork. "I didn't want to leave you here," he says in a quiet voice, slightly pleading and tired. "I know how much you hate the hospital." Yixing pokes the other's cheek playfully, a small smile gracing his lips.
@[i] lay When Wendy tilts her head to get a good look at him, she frowns slightly, there's a little frown on Yixing face and she wants to run her fingers over his brows to iron it out but of course she doesn't do it. Yixing is sound asleep and she doesn't want to disturb him. Silently she thinks to herself how much Yixing must be suffering, how tired he is considering the amount of practices for their upcoming comeback, how long he has been here and she feels guilty. He doesn't have too but she's sure he wants to be here, She sighs in disapproval. As much as Wendy loves Yicing for being such a nice friend she wishes he could take better care of himself. She wishes he could sometimes put himself before anyone else but she also knows that would never be the case, Yixing is just as stubborn as she is.
It's not long before Yixing wakes up, Wendy completely forgets that Yixing is a very very light sleeper. She pretends to be upset with Yixing's presence even though she's nothing of that sort.,,, or perhaps a little. "I told you to go back." She says shortly, her lips forming into a little sulk.
@[i] wendy [sh] Yixing walks back into the room, sighing heavily and running his fingers through his hair tiredly, frustrated. He's just come back from outside the whitewashed room, from having a slightly heated argument with his manager. He completely forgot that there was dance practice today. He asked for permission to stay with the promise of practicing more the next day. Yixing figures that with the amount of exertion his body will take tomorrow, he really needs his rest. Which is why he slumps in the chair and sleeps, arms crossed and frowning slightly.
Yixing is a very light sleeper, so he hears the shuffling of sheets occasionally and the soft coughs from the girl on the bed in front of him, but he doesn't open his eyes because he knows she's still asleep. He wants to savour the peace just for a while.
He wakes up a little later, opening his eyes tiredly and stretching upwards to the ceiling. Then he feels a heavy weight, as if he's being watched and he looks up right into Wendy's eyes. "You've been awake?" He asks, yawning. "I bought cake, do you want some?"
@[i] lay Despite being asleep, Wendy flinches every time she tosses and turns in her sleep. She doesn't remember how long she sleeps for, but she vaguely remembers the familiar faint scent of Yixing's cologne, she also remembers hearing the sound of someone's phone going off but she doesn't remember who or even who it was before falling back into sleep.
Wendy only wakes up a couple of hours later.. or more than that and she opens her eyes once more to the bright lights and white walls of the hospital room. she squints slightly, not use to the light but at least she knows where she is this time round. They must have given here another dose of painkillers considering she doesn't feel as much pain as before but there's a faint ache. well, that she can bear.
It takes a while before Wendy notices another presences in the room. Of course, who could it be? Definitely Yixing. She remembers telling him to go home early to take a rest. She doesn't want to tell him but Yixing's eyebags are almost as bad as Zitao's was and it makes her snickers softly. Wendy doesn't want to wake him up so she doesn't shake him or make any drastic movements (not like she can even do it.) instead she looks at him with much fondness and disapproval.
@[i] wendy [sh] Yixing comes back to a silent room, Wendy's soft breathing the only thing that can be heard. He's definitely glad that the other has been given a dose of painkillers, but it doesn't seem like it's working, seeing how her face is still scrunched up in pain. She's sleeping, but he doesn't know how peaceful it is, and it worries him. Taking a step into the room, he sits down yet again on the cold yellow chair and sighs. Yixing takes a glance at the other girl on the bed, leg in a cast and pain just everywhere, and shakes his head, thinking back to the day it had all started. He can't help but think it's his fault.
He stands up with a box in his hand and walks as silently as possible over to the tiny fridge that the room offers and places it inside. For Wen later, the boy reminds himself. A minute later, The Answer starts playing and he realises that his ringtone has broken the silence. Alarmed, Yixing hurries out of the room to answer the phonecall.
@[i] lay Wendy is glad Yixing isn't stubborn ( for once) and quickly gets out of the room. Perhaps it was a giveaway but at least he knew her enough to know that she wouldn't accept any help at the moment and to give her some space. They were really similar in those ways.
The moment Yixing steps out of her private room, Wendy breaks down in cold sweat, the pain is so excruciating, tears are already streaming down her cheeks before she even knows it. She is barely able to reach for the nurse bell but they come away. She was sure Yixing would have known and informed them. "It hurts." She tells the nurse. "Give me something.. anything to stop it" Wendy pleads. They don't say anything before they head out and come back with a syringe semi-filled with clear liquid. "We're going to administer you with a small dosage of opioid, that should help the pain." One of the nurses says, not really giving a short warning before she pokes the idol.
Wendy is thankful that the medicine is slowly working and she once again breath properly. But with it side effects working on her too, she feels drowsy and doesn't take long after Wendy closes her eyes does she fall into a 0deep sleep
@[i] wendy [sh] Yixing shakes his head incredulously, "you have no faith in me. I'd be the best hairstylist ever." He exclaims, grinning triumphantly at her although he hasn't won the battle yet. His heart sinks when the other's expression changes slightly to one of pain, although he keeps his smile plastered on his face. In his defense, faltering smiles and slowing speech are dead giveaways. He has to be blind not to notice, but he knows that if he doesn't go along with whatever Wendy says, she'd be too stubborn to accept any form of help. "You should sleep then," he says quietly, picking up his bag to sling it on his shoulder. Yixing pats her hair down and walks out slowly, gauging her reaction.
A step out of the room causes him to increase the pace at which he walks because he could see the amount of pain Wendy was under, even if it was only for those few seconds. Walking up to the counter, he tells the nurse to check up on Wendy and give her more medications if possible. Yixing doesn't want to leave the vicinity so soon, because that might mean that he wouldn't be able to visit Wendy any more, so he walks over to the nearby cafe and buys a cup of coffee.
His cup of coffee is finished in a matter of minutes and he stands to buy a cake for his best friend who had landed herself in the hospital. He really can't leave. He trudges back to the room, and peeks his head in to see the other still asleep, thankfully.
@[i] lay Wendy shakes her head disapprovingly at the other's statement. "You'll be out of job in no time, I promise you." She remarks harshly but jokingly. "Maybe you should quit being a singer, or basically EXO and be their stylist or some sort. You know." She grins mischievously but it doesn't last for very long, not when the effects of the pain killers are wearing out and she can feel a sharp pain at the left side of her hips where she got hit. Her smile falters slightly as she grimaces but she doesn't want Yixing to worry anymore so she simply clutches tightly against the sheets.
"Please go home. I insist." Wendy barely manages, the pain is excruciating and she can barely speak anymore without blowing her cover. ". Come.. back to.. tomorrow. They'll...take care of me." This time she speaks faster but she stumbles on some of her words. She gives the other's hand a reassuring squeeze to tell him shes fine before nodding her head. She knows how stubborn Yixing can get and that if he knew she wasn't feeling so well, he would never leave. Letting go of his hand, she closes her eyes and tries to allow the sleepiness to wash over her. 'Mind over matter.' She tells herself even though shes pretty sure it isn't really working.
@[i] wendy [sh] Yixing messes up the other's hair more, and then chuckles at her inability to do anything about it. "Now you can't do anything," he singsongs playfully at her, grinning brightly. Taking a step back to look at his masterpiece, the older let out a hum of approval. "I'm not bad at this thing, maybe I should be a hairdresser." He reaches out fix her hair back.
Yixing nods at her, looking down at the floor. "Another day is good for you, at least they can monitor if something goes wrong," he tries to make her see the positive side of staying, because he knows how much Wendy hates the smell of the hospital and the prospect of having to stay any longer. Shaking his head to protest, Yixing stays firmly seated in the plastic chair. "I'll stay for another day until you get back home. I need to keep you safe." He says it with so much finality that he wants to keep Wendy quiet about him having to leave. He's sure Luhan wouldn't mind it.
@[i] lay Wendy barely manages to shake her head or dodge when Yixing's hands reaches for her hair and tousles it so she ends up pouting at him."Yixing." She says warningly but with no hint of anger or what sort. If there was any sort of emotion or thoughts running through her mind, Wendy is simply glad she's here and the Yixing is able to tousle her hair.
"Another day?" She says softly, lips forming into a slight sulk but she knows it's for her own good and that there's no one at home to take care of her. "Hey~ xing?" Wendy calls out the moment she tilts her head sideways to look at him. "Go home." Reaching out for his hand, she gives it a gentle squeeze. "I'll be fine, I'm awake now. You should go home and sleep.. Luhan will be worried and you look like you would pass out any moment. You know I'm fine now."
@[i] wendy [sh] Hearing the girl snort under her breath, he smiles brightly at her. For all the time he's known Wendy, he knows that look on her face, he knows that she thinks he's lying and Yixing wants nothing but to assure the other that he isn't. That he's being genuine.
He chuckles under his breath, shaking his head. "It wasn't your fault, Wen." He says, reaching out to ruffle her hair slightly even though he knows how much she hates people touching her hair. Besides, she can't do much about it. Yixing smiles at the prospect of Wendy's kimbap, delighted at the thought of having those mouth watering rice rolls. "I think they mentioned something about keeping you here for another day, but I'll ask them about it." He says quietly, sitting back down onto the chair. With all the fussing the past week, his body has reached its limit.
@[i] lay [hiatus till 06/03] Wendy couldn't help but to snort at his remark, of course Yixing would. Of course Yixing would have told her she was the prettiest even if she was in a bloodied mess, even when she knew she look the worst. Yixing would lie without batting his eyelashes but perhaps that was something she grew fond about him. With him, she didn't need to be someone else, she didn't need to be pretty nor stunning. She could be the plain jane Seunghwan but still pretty in his eyes. As much as he wanted to swat him for his playfulness and glib tongue, it was a bad idea to reach out and his him. Afterall, she could barely lift a finger, what more.
"That's nice to hear. You forgive me for being dumb" She replies softly, heaving a deep sigh. "I'll make you those good old Kimbap that you like once I get out of here" Wendy continues softly, turning her head with much effort to then look at him. Speaking of that... did the doctors say when I could you know... get out." She question then sniffing the air. "I don't fancy the smell of hospital, sometimes, it almost smells like death."
