Jaejoong flushed, partly out of embarrassment and partly out of frustration. He was terrified of girls, particularly girls who tried to win his affections. Talking to girls was akin to talking to extraterrestrials in his world. Hyemin was especially difficult to converse with, considering their past interactions. He was well aware that he was stiff and tense, but made no move to appear calmer. He wasn't very good at acting anyway, so there really would be no point in trying. Hyemin didn't like him; that much was obvious. Although Jaejoong was somewhat disappointed that he had just been some sort of a fling to her, he was also relieved that he didn't have to deal with the awkward situations they'd had the first time they'd met.
He opened and closed his mouth, unable to form a coherent sentence and somewhat resembling a fish. Resigning to the fact that he probably wouldn't be able to speak without making a fool out of himself, he resorted to nodding, still keeping his eyes firmly planted on his shoes.
[[OTLOTLOTL I'M SORRY I CAN'T WRITE LONG REPLIES GDI GDI GDI]]
@Kim Jaejoong [R] “Um…?” Her eyes bore a hint of light amusement, though she didn’t know whether to laugh or be crossed. Perhaps he didn’t consider the fact she could hear him curse, as she was roughly two feet away from him. Was he really that unhappy to see her? Kudos to him then; the feeling was mutual. Hyemin had no idea how to deal with him, having no previous experience in handling people or situations like this. It was frustrating really. Or was she reading too much into personal conflict? The director noticed his tense body language that just about screamed awkward. Her mess of thoughts finally came to one final conclusion: He definitely /did not/ like her. Not even as acquaintances.
Hearing him actually respond without a reminder was surprising. Hyemin expected the poor guy to run out of the infirmary upon first glance. Remembering the tiny but suddenly significant age gap made her uncomfortable, though her face remained collected. She, who was a ‘noona' in this case, tried seducing someone younger. That was a bit unheard of.
Hyemin stared at him, taking a wild guess as to what brought the newbie here. “Are you lost?”
@Park Hyemin Jaejoong forced a nervous smile and looked at the ground, trying in vain to gather his thoughts. How had he managed to run into the last person he wanted to see? Sure, Park Hyemin /was/ the camp director, but there were so many other campers he could have run into that this coincidence could only be the spawn of his horrid luck. He muttered a low curse in Latin.
His first experience with Hyemin hadn't exactly been smooth. He had always been a loner, and naturally having a girl trying to seduce him had been...frightening, to say the least. It wasn't that Hyemin was hideous or anything, it was quite the contrary, actually. She was too good for someone as pitifully insubstantial as himself. He tried not to flatter himself, because there was next to no chance that Hyemin had any feelings for him.
Jaejoong cleared his throat, figuring that he might as well say something to ease the silence.
"Um," he said, with a mental facepalm. /Eloquent, Kim Jaejoong,/ he thought to himself. /You see her after all this time and all you can say is "um."/
@Kim Jaejoong [R] (I made my reply longer for its lateness. orz)
Hyemin blinked in surprise at the male in front on her. This was an unusual visit. Out of all the demigods that would barged in, it /had/ to be Kim Jaejoong. Not that she despised him in any sense, but they weren’t on terms people would call friendly. It was an unintentional relationship caught between prey and predator, and seductress and victim. She prayed he’d forget their first meeting, thought it was evident in his stutter that he most certainly didn’t.
Out of all days, pride had to overcome her on her last visit at Camp Jupiter. Hyemin was sent to retrieve a son of Rhamnousia, one of the more uncommon exchange campers. Usually, she’d be disinterested in the exchanges between the camps, but ever since the last Nemesis kid incident, they’ve intrigued her. Kim Jaejoong, at first glance, was no different from the children of the revenge goddess. She’d admit he was a bit of looker (ooc: I admit that too. /shot) but nothing was out of the ordinary about him, aside from the solitude that surrounded the demigod. So what had brought on this relationship? Hyemin blamed the damn Venus kids. At that time, they mistaken her for one of their own (thought Hyemin didn’t figure that out until a week later) and then promptly went on to egg her on her skills of seduction for a Greek camper. Being egotistic and prideful was not a good combination in this situation; Hyemin prided herself on being a perfectionist on everything and she meant /everything/.
The look of surprise on Jaejoong was amusing to say the least. With his looks, she ought to think dozens of girls had tried their hand at seducing him – apparently, she was wrong. Things were a tad embarrassing afterwards, though Hyemin kept up her seductress façade long enough to make an impression; in other words, scare him senseless. She avoided him after that incident, not wanting to be reminded of such silliness. Now that he appeared before her, all she could do was act calm. Well, /try/ to at least.
She calmly brushed off any dust that might have dirtied her jeans and turned her attention back on him. “Jaejoong,” Hyemin greeted him, a rare smile touching her lips. “I’m perfectly fine. What brings you here?”
@Park Hyemin Jaejoong stumbled awkwardly into the infirmary, hoping to find someone who could show him around. Camp Half-Blood was completely different from Camp Jupiter, and he'd always been the type of person to get lost.
The room initially looked completely empty, save for a few beds. He sighed, and was about to leave the room when he heard a loud thudding noise. Caught between glee at finally finding someone else and concern for the person who had fallen, he walked over to the source of the noise.
"Are you okay?" he asked courteously, before taking a good look at the stranger. She was a slender girl with red-brown hair and piercing eyes that Jaejoong knew too well. He almost choked, before composing himself. "H-Hyemin?"
[[Sorry this . And sorry it's late. Sorry sorry sorry sorry OTL]]
Her chair tilted back on its two legs, hitting the wall with each rock. Hyemin loose a bored sigh and scanned the empty infirmary for nth time this day. The usual bustling around was absent this afternoon as the Apollo children were off for their archery practice. As if balancing her duties as activity director wasn't enough, she was obligated to fill in as well. /Joy/. Strangely enough, no injured demigods barged in, rendering the director purposeless here. Hyemin let loose yet another sigh, mourning the time lost while sitting here. She could be finishing her paperwork at the Big House without a worry of having it done late.
Just as her eyes fluttered shut for a brief second, the sound of stumbling footsteps burst into the room. Her chair abruptly fell back on its four legs, making a loud thud with its land. The loud noise caused a small wince out of the girl as she stood up straight to greet the newcomer.
(Sorry for the short crappy starter. I rarely even start. OTL)
@Jung Jinyoung [G] She nodded and his a smile small from him. She's always wanted to know how it feels like to fly. She made sure not to let herself fall again, gripping him as tight as she could without hurting him.
The first thing she noticed coming out of the infirmary were all the campers milling around, playing and building contraptions that she can't quite put a name to. "What-?" her quetion was cut off when one of the little ones accidentally bumped into her, apologized and left. Hmmm... she thought, how young could they get.... Before she could ask, the smell of the stables hit her before she even saw them. "Whoa~" she said softly and narrowed her eyes to see it more clearly. "That's one big stable.."
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung nodded and made sure to keep a firm grip on her. He wouldn't want her getting hurt again over something as simple as falling.
"Yep, I'm sure you want to go see them right? Let's head to the stables and armory then," he said as he began walking towards the door on the way to the stables and armory.
She pouted. "Of course I'll be stuborn- Thanks-" she took his hand and let him help her stand up. "If you grow up in an orphanage without being stubborn you would die." She stood up straight and made sure not to let go of him, she didn't want another sore place in her body.
Her eyes widened. "Pegasi? Like, the flying horses? Pegasus?!" she said with awe, was in a shape of an O. She couldn't believe that such a thing would actually exists
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung failed to hold back a scoff as he extended a hand to help her. "For someone who's injured, you're still stubborn." It was obvious she would need help to walk for a while until her leg fully heals. He thought about where he should take her, but she didn't seem to be interesting in going anywhere specific.
"Would you like to see the arena where you'll be training in? Or the stables and armory, where the pegasi and weapons are located?"
@Jung Jinyoung [G] She nodded. "That's good, i guess." She followed his eyes and noticed that the sun was high up in the sky. Must be noon, she thought as she squinted. She looked back at Jinyoung and focused on what he was saying. "No, i would hate to spend the est of the day here.... Well... I guess.. i don't really know any of the places here...."She smiled. "Thanks, but i think i can handle myself." Her stubbornness showing, she started to stand up, showing off that she could walk. Except, well, her leg fell in on her and she landed on her . "Oww.." she complained, turning bright red from embarrassment.
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung smiled and took her hand in his for a shake. "It didn't take too long for you to wake up after you fainted." He turned his head towards the window to find the sun still brightly shining in the distance. It's around midday, in the afternoon, and he still had plenty of time to spare. His lessons in the infirmary had ended fairly early and that's when he first saw her.
"I'm sure you wouldn't want to spend the rest of the day here, right?" Jinyoung asked as he turned back to fix his gaze on her once again. "Is there any place you'd like to see? I'll be glad to help you walk in your current condition," he said as he peeked at her leg. Even though, he made sure to greatly lessen the pain, it still wasn't fully healed and she might still feel pressure when she walked.
Cute, she thought. She's never met anybody who's as docile as him. She held out a hand. "Chaerin. I've been here.. for well.. I reallt don't know.... How long was i asleep?"
The last time she remember looking at a calendar was such a long time ago and she wondered if her birthday's already passed. Coz if it had then it would be her third year as a run away.
@Lee Chaerin [G] "Yep, everyone here dedicates their time to training for whatever situation in order to survive."
Jinyoung responded while smiled at her aggression towards whoever or whatever was after her before appearing here; it was a normal reaction after all. He blinked at her as he also realized that they haven't exchanged names after all this time. He was so busy filling her in that he forgot to introduced himself. He brought a hand to his head and sheepishly threw a smile at her.
"My name's Jinyoung, son of Apollo. I've only been here at the camp for a year."
@Jung Jinyoung [G] She pondered at his question. She never really thought that whatever she did was strange. Well, I guess surviving death more than a few handful of times was strange but still... she thought.
"Training? Like hand to hand combat?" she went back to her past few months and swiftly. "yes, please sign me up for that! If those little .. i dont even know what they are.. come back, i wanna pound them to the ground." She covered , stopping more agression to come out. The last thing she wanted was to scare the boy away...
"Um... so.... We've been talking for a while but I don't think I know your name yet..." she said in small voice. She never bothered to ask anybody for their names because she knew she'll never see them again by the next week, but this time, she felt that she'll be staying here awhile.
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung pondered for an answer to her question. He had known fairly quickly when he came to the camp about his father, Apollo, who've even appeared in front of him for the first time. He was able to answer all his questions and provide him with the information he needed to live at the camp.
"Do you remember anything strange you've done in the past? It might be connected to your powers and ancestry."
An idea suddenly crossed his mind, but he wasn't so sure if it was going to work. "Maybe once you begin combat training, your powers will show. And, then you'll be able to figure out your godly parent from what kind of powers you have."
@Jung Jinyoung [G] She was instantly calmed down by his claim. "Maybe.. just maybe.." Then she thought about the books she read about the gods and their children. How they were sent to different quests and ended up dying. I should be glad I'm still alive, she thought.
She didn't even notice the boy holding her hands until she felt a warm sensation in her palms. She looked down and saw her scar heal, the hardness of her palm now gone. "Whoa" And she couldn't help but smile back.
"Is there anyway i could find any of that out?" she asked. She wasn't sure if she wanted to really know or not but it seems that curiosity had already gotten a hold of her.
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung felt sympathetic for her, assuming that even her mortal parent had left her when she was younger. It would make sense for her sudden anger over her godly parent who hasn't shown up for her. However, if she didn't know who her godly parent was then neither would he. And, neither would she know what kind of powers she contained unless they're unleashed at the right time.
"Only you would know in time who your godly parent is and what kind of powers you have."
Jinyoung eyed her scraped hands and slightly pouted. Women's hands should be flawless and not hurt or overworked. He took her hands in his and once again, his hands glowed a soft, white light. When he removed his hands, he smiled at her milky white hands, just how it should be. He looked up to her and threw her a cheeky smile.
"Maybe you can heal like me, but you'll have to find out yourself."
@Jung Jinyoung [G] "So if i was a demigod..." She looked down at her scraped hands and looked up at him and seriously said. "...my hands can do that glowy thing like yours did?" She wasn't sure how to reply so she went for the innocent, joking route. She was still not buying it but what he was saying was making sense. Powers... she looked down at her semi healed leg and understood what he meant. It was extremely peculiar but what he's saying actually fits. There were many times in her life where she should have been dead but somehow she survives. Like when she first came to her first orphanage.
Suddenly, her blood started to boil, her anger filling her. "SO the who would my godly parent be? The b*stard who left me alone all those years." she said through gritted teeth.
@Lee Chaerin [G] "Everyone here experience abnormally bad things before coming here..." Jinyoung responded as his mind trailed off, breaking eye contact. Seeing her reaction, she was no doubt a demigod. She just had no idea why and how. "...Which is why they come here to be protected and train to master their given powers by their godly parent." He once again fixed his gaze on her, hoping that she was still following his words, as his eyes showed seriousness. However, if she didn't know who her godly parent was then she would have to figure out her hidden powers by herself.
@Jung Jinyoung [G] She just stared at him as he laughed, even more questioning his sanity but he was really serious about the subject matter. She raised a brow. "Negative things?" She shrugged. "I'm not really sure what you mean by negative but I know I've been having trouble since I was born.. I'm kind of used to it." She doesn't even remember her parents nor anything about her life. She doesn't even know who had given her her name nor where she was from. All she knew was that she wasn't wanted by anyone.
"Wait. How did you know I had trouble?" her eyebrows knitting together. Who was this kid...
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung's eyes widened slightly before bursting out into laughter. Her innocence and lack of knowledge about what was going on was pretty amusing to him. Although he had been here for one year, he hasn't experienced this kind of situation before since people who came to the camp knew of their purpose. Yet, she was different.
"Yes, like the 'greek mythology stuff' except that it's real. And, I'm totally fine." Jinyoung softly removed her hand from his forehead, giving her a look saying that he's completely sane and fine. He hesitated in asking his next question, knowing that it might be a sensitive topic for her. But, he needed to ask in order for her to understand.
"...Negative things have been happening to you, right?"
"Demigod?" she raised a brow. "Like the greek mythology stuff?" Ever since she was a kid she has been fascinated with mythology. She would spend days just reading about them, it was like a past time and a hobby for her. But she wasn't so sure about what the guy was babbling about.
"Are you sure you're not the one who's supposed to be lying down on the bed?" she asked him, reaching out to feel if his forehead was hot.
@Lee Chaerin [G] Jinyoung had to hold back another chuckle at her sarcasm. "Wizard? Please, I'm a demigod," He teased with a light smirk to counter her sarcasm. "Being a demigod ties with being a half-blood; having one mortal parent and one godly parent." He was sure that she had no idea that she was a daughter of a god or goddess so it seemed like he would have to explain everything.
"I know it's a lot to take in but basically, the reason why you are sent here is because you are a daughter of a god or goddess, and in other words, a demigod."
Satyrs, Half-Blood, what is he babbling about? she thought. She tilted her head as he kept on talking but didn't dare interrupt until he finished. "Summer camp... in February... I see.... Camp Half-Blood? Why Half-blood are people here like half wizards or what? As for me being here, I don't know. Then again most of the time I don't why I even exist." she shrugged. Should i tell him about my dream? No... it's too early...
"That magic thing you did.... what was that?" she almost forgot to ask about the weird encounter before she passed out. "Are you a wizard?" She gasped, making a little surprised face to imply her sarcasm.
@Lee Chaerin [G] "It seemed like you were carried here by satrys. That explains the makeshift splint on your leg." Jinyoung replied as he thought about her situation. She seemed to have no idea how she got here nor her purpose of being here. Though, Jinyoung had a slight idea. She wouldn't have been brought here if she wasn't a demigod. However, if she was this lost and confused, he doubted that she knew herself. It seemed like Jinyoung had a lot of explain to do.
"I guess you can call it a summer camp; though it won't just be the summer you'll be here." He nearly chuckled at her somewhat accurate thought. "You are in the infirmary of Camp Half-Blood. May I assume that you don't know why you were brought here?"

Naeun refused to believe the goat-man at first. The goat-man offered her a place at Camp Half-Blood and that if she ever changed her mind, all she had to do was go to the dark alleyway where she fought the manticore on a bright sunny afternoon. The next day, Naeun thought about his offer and she decided to go to that camp of his. After all, she knew she didn't belong with the regular humans ever since she was young. The goat-man smiled knowingly when he found her at the dark alleyway the following day. He brought her to a camp. The moment she stepped on camp grounds, a symbol was seen floating above her head. "All hail Son Naeun, daughter of lord Hades, god of the underworld." A centaur said. Oh yes, the symbol seen was the helm of darkness.

He didn't really know what this camp was all about, but he knew one thing for sure. Sehun knew that his real father wasn't a normal human, no, he was a God. Godly parent/ancestry/etc: Pluto / Hades
Writing Sample: DaeHyun narrowed his eyes, wondering why he'd been chosen to be sent to this camp. Perhaps it was yet another laugh of fate at him, and by the Gods, he knew they loved messing with him. He hitched his bag up on his shoulder before boldly making his way towards what he expected to be an empty dorm. It being a child of Pluto, most people tended to be afraid of him and stayed away, which made making friends really hard. He blew his blonde bangs upwards before settling his bag down onto the cabin bunk. This would be an interesting time...
