@Rayne Galen sat quietly by a window in the back of the library with a heavy book in his lap. He was holding the book with one hand while his other hand was conjuring a small ball of water; he was trying to master the next element he was training in, but so far, he wasn't having much success - at least his water manipulation was more successful than his fire manipulation...
He suddenly lost concentration once his thoughts began to wander and the ball of water splashed onto the book and of he Senitel panicked, trying to dry the book as best as he could.
@Calcifer Rayne smiled to the other and shook his head in amusement, "You are something else, Calcifer," he chuckled. "You seem so quiet yet fierce, but you're actually kinda playful and talkative," he nodded to himself. "Yes, first time for everything.." he muttered softly and thought about the many 'firsts' he had yet to have even though he was already 30. He shook those thoughts off though before listening to the other's abilities, "Can I see what you are able to do though?" he asked curiously, "If you show me how much you can do, I'll show you me when I'm in my turtle form," he grinned.
{Don't worry~ ^^ I was a bit lazy with replies for the last few days~ ^^}
Rayne smiled to the younger and hummed softly, "Ah well, now you know. I graduated years ago though," he chuckled softly. "Now I'm here as the doctor," he grinned. He hummed in thought, crossing one of his legs over the other, "Well, it's good to have a generally good handle on multiple things so you at least have a baseline to fall back upon as you improve on one or two things at a time, eventually getting better with everything," he explained and then chuckled softly, "Oh look at me, suddenly becoming an instructor or something," he laughed softly.
@Rayne Calcifer looked at the doctor, ready to spurt out an exaggerated complaint, before stopping himself in thought. “Oh. Well, I guess not,” he mumbled, shrugging. He smiled at the other then, playful, “Yeah. You figured it out. Sorry to disappoint you, doc. Your eyes were pretty, I guess. Pretty creepy,” he said, grinning his lopsided grin. “Well, there’s a first time for everything, isn’t there? Hopefully there won’t be a first time for you getting angry at me though,” he muttered, before leaning over to nudge the doctor lightly. “Don’t worry, though. I’ll try my best not to make you mad.” He gave a few seconds in thought to answer, “Well, I haven’t gotten far. Can’t do much yet. I haven’t really focused on learning that part,” he said, bashfully almost, giving the side of his neck a little scratch.
{ so sorry for the really late reply! got super busy the past few days ; ; }
@Rayne She smiled to herself and angled her head ore to hide it. She didn't believe her bangs and oversized glasses covered enough. "I didn't know you were a student here." She thought he was a student as well, he looked young like she was. "I wouldn't consider it excelling. I exist and learn in the shadows. So I'm not too great at anything." She saw herself as pretty well rounded but that made it impossible for her to be particularly good at anything. "But that is something you should be proud of. "
@Pyro The doctor furrowed his brows for a moment before shrugging, "Well then, suit yourself," he smiled. Humming, he nodded to himself and listened to the other, "I see, so I'm guessing you already have..." he counted them in his head and then smiled, "around 5 already, right? Since you're the headgirl," he smiled. He shook his head and took a sip of his tea, "It's not silly at all. Back when I was at Essara Academy as a student, I tried my best to keep getting stronger and stronger and I was able to get out of there with 10 emblems of Essara in five years," he grinned, "I'm pretty proud actually. So I understand if you wanna keep excelling."
@Calcifer The doctor laughed softly at the other's reaction and smiled, "Well, is it a bad thing to be seen as more of a fighter than a reader to you?" he asked and shook his head in amusement. He rolled his eyes at the younger boy's teasing, not able to hide the smile that formed on his lips though. The doctor stood there, listening to the other and then burst out laughing, "So instead of pretty, my eyes were creepy?" he laughed softly and held his stomach a bit. "Oh wow, I've never gotten that one before," he muttered to himself. "Well, if you ever saw me when I'm angry, then I don't think you'd be calling them creepy anymore," he half-joked. "How are you going with your shifting? What can you do?" he asked curiously.
@Rayne She smiled as she noticed that her paper cut had completely healed. She placed her hand back on the table and studied another page in the book intently. When he had returned, she looked up level to his chest and looked back down. "Oh, no thank you. I'm dieting." She said and dusted off the table next to her book. "Well, fire emblems. It's a big book of all of the ones possible for me to have." She continued. "I wanted to know more about them is all. It's silly, I know."
@Rayne "Hey," Calcifer gave the doctor a rather serious look, "I'm kind of hurt by that, Doc." He placed a hand melodramatically over his heart, as though he was severely pained, before chuckling. "Wow, words to live by from the old man himself," he said jokingly, before turning serious and nodding. "Alright, alright. I'll /try/ to stop. For you," he said, grinning. "To be honest though, you kind of gave me this... feeling the first time we met. Kind of like you knew a lot but you were just being chill about it? I don't know. Must've been your eyes. They were kind of... creepy," he went on thoughtfully, before his eyes widened in surprise at the other's next words. "That's pretty cool," he said, wholly impressed, since the farthest he'd ever gone with shifting was getting snakeskin over his arms. It wasn't exactly something he focused on practicing yet.
@Pyro The doctor returned soon enough with a tray of tea and a few biscuits too. He hummed, walking over and placing the tray on the table before taking a seat opposite of the student. "Here you go. Help yourself," he smiled and poured himself a cup and added a sugar cube to it before he stirred it and took a sip. "So, what are your reading about, if you don't mind me asking," he asked curiously. He was trying to be friendly but not too friendly as to scare or annoy the girl.
@Rayne She shrugged and returned to her seat. "Well people just don't take a liking to me, and kind of just assume I'm a hothead." She shook her head. "Don't get me wrong, I can be, but no one even knew I was a girl until last week. That's how little anyone knows me." She pursed her lips. It was more annoying than upsetting. At his teasing grin, she lowered her head. "I didn't mean to be that transparent. I actually was planning to run. " she opened her book, and conveniently gave herself a papercut. She turned to the appropriate page and practiced her fire healing, quickly mending her finger.
@Pyro Noticing that the other seemed to be somewhat self-conscious about showing her face, Rayne didn't pay any mind to it. "Well, that's no good. I don't see why people would avoid the headgirl," he said, furrowing his brows a bit in concern. "Ah, you're probably one of the quietest Filaren I've met so far in my whole 30 years," he chuckled softly. He placed his books on the opposite side of the table to where the girl was sitting and smiled, "Sit down and relax, I'm just going to bring us some tea to have whilst we're here," he smiled, "I may not know your face but I know how you look, so don't try to run away whilst I get the stuff," he chuckled, teasing the other a bit before he teleported to grab a couple of cups and a pot of tea and whatnot.
@Rayne "Ah... well." She accidentally raked her hair back with her fingers, uncovering her face and unnerving her. As soon as she realized she could see without hair obstructing get view, she fixed it so her hair was covering get gave again. "Well yes. Yes....that was funny. " She shook her head. "I don't mean literally. People just avoid me as if I don't exist. Thus I'm invisible. " she nodded. "It's alright though. I'm not upset about it. And I have no problems when I'm angry, because of being Filaren." She nodded.
@Pyro The doctor could tell that the other was a bit more of the timid side, or perhaps the socially awkward side. It didn't matter which one really though since it didn't matter to him. "No no, you don't need to leave just because of me, dear," he chuckled and shook his head. He was a little surprised by the firmness of the handshake but when she said was a headgirl, it made sense. "Invisible? I'm pretty sure you're Filaren, not Shira, so I don't get what you mean by invisible," he chuckled softly.
@Rayne She meekly walked over to him and squatted, helping him pick up his books, then slowly rose. "Ah... no. That's alright." She nodded at his explanation, and bowed her head letting her fringe cover her face and her eyes. "I'll leave and leave you to your books if that's what you'd prefer." She took his hand and shook it firmly to ease the shake in her hand. "Pyro. The invisible headgirl." She averts her eyes to her feet. "The pleasure is all mine."
@Pyro "Crap," he whispered to himself as he began to pick up the books and then looked up at the very shy and shaky hello. He stood up when he got the books and then smiled to the other, "Hi there," he smiled and chuckled softly, "Sorry if I disturbed you. I didn't mean to," he said rather sheepishly. "I didn't expect anyone else to be in here so when I saw you, I got surprised," he explained. He held out a hand to the other for a handshake, "Nice to meet you by the way, I'm Rayne," he introduced.
@Rayne Pyro tilted her head in though whenever she found something interesting. Although she was really interested in what she was reading, she head someone come in and froze. She stayed very still hoping somehow she'd just blend into her surroundings and go completely missed. But she didn't. She heard the books drop, and bit her lips in thought. Should she stay, or should she leave? Feeling oddly bold, she closed her book, rose from the chair, turned to the person, and without meeting their eyes or looking at them at all, she bowed and gave the intruder a shaky hello.
@Calcifer Rayne found it amusing to see that the other was quite engrossed into his own book as well and chuckled softly. He shrugged slightly and sighed, "I dunno, didn't think you'd be the reading type," he admitted. He nodded and grinned enthusiastically to the younger boy, "Yup, always. If you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself at some point, and that can lead to serious consequences sometimes," he nodded and then blinked a few times in surprise, "Well, I am a lot smarter than what most people first think of me. I'm also observant too." He smiled proudly, "Anyway, the animals I can turn into are a turtle and dolphin, and they're pretty smart creatures," he added.
@Rayne Calcifer had barely noticed movement from the other male, having engrossed himself in all the techniques written in his book. When he heard the doctor's voice, he startled a little bit, looked up, and chuckled along as well. Calcifer watched him leave to return all the books he'd read, before finishing the last bit he was reading and closing his book as well. "Why's that so hard to believe?" he asked, standing to stretched his arms upwards. His body ached, terribly sore. "Hey. Are you always going to call me out like this?" he asked with a little smile, "You always see right through me."
@Calcifer After another hour or so of skimming through about five more books, Rayne decided to call it quits for the day. He looked out the window and yawned, stretching a bit, "It isn't as late as I thought it would be," he hummed and then sighed as he got up, looking over at the other, "I can't believe you sat there this whole time though," he chuckled softly as he went to put the last of the books away. He turned back and then looked at the taller, "So, I'm guessing you're going to go and train some more, Mr. I-haven't-recovered-but-I-need-to-get-stronger?" he teased.
@Rayne Calcifer only gave the other male one last chuckle, before finally settling down in his seat. He snorted at his accusation, even though it was completely true. When the other male stood up to return his book, Calcifer's eyes followed him for only a moment, before returning to the text printed on the pages of his book. "Likewise, I'm not always boring. I can be pretty restless, too," he murmured, though his eyes were still downcast at the book in his hands. When he glanced back up, he saw that the other seemed intent on getting some studying done, so he kept quiet. Decided that they could share this peace before he had to start training again, even though his body hasn't quite recovered from yesterday's strenuous session yet.
@Calcifer The doctor rolled his eyes at the rather cheesy answer and shook his head in amusement as the student was being rather cheeky now. He continued to look through the pages, taking in any information he had missed last time and hummed, "You know, I can see you looking at me, Calcifer," he said, eyes still glued to the pages, "I'm not hyper 24/7, I can be pretty boring too," he said and flipped another page over before taking that one book back to it's place on the shelf before coming back to the seat and getting the next one.
@Rayne Calcifer smiled a bit to himself, before leaning over the table, his expression suddenly solemn. "Right over here," he put a hand over the left side of his chest, giving it a single pat for good measure, "This thing right here. It's never melting ice." And then, he laughed at himself once more, lighthearted. "Hey, I was just playing around with you." His face turned thoughtful, and then he shrugged, leaning back on his chair once more. "Ah, that's true, I guess," he murmured. As the other returned to flipping through pages, Calcifer reached over for his book, opening it to the first page -- even though his eyes were stuck on the older male, waiting for him to say something.
@Pyro Just another evening and Rayne headed into the library after having got some fresh air after a walk around the castle grounds. He hummed ever so softly to himself as he thought about which books he wanted to look at next. He was so deep in thought that he didn't realise that there was someone else in the library, already reading to themselves. He slowly walked along, finding a couple of books and turned to go to the other side when he saw a figure sitting down with their hair out, making him drop the couple of books in his hands since he was surprised.
@Calcifer The doctor looked over at the other, unimpressed, "You? You're a Filaren who controls fire. How could you make ice," he deadpanned before shaking his head in amusement. "You can be so cocky sometimes," he scoffed. He sighed softly and then nodded, "True, but I need to test it in several ways, like how long it could last just standing there, if it can withstand changes in atmosphere," he added and found the page that he had been looking at earlier.
@Rayne held her skirt tightly in one hand and stood on tiptoe to reach a book on the top shelf. She was studying up on Filaren emblems. She had five at the moment, from being headgirl, but she really wanted to see what she could do. She had to study after hours because no one really liked her and she only recently was allowed to be herself. She used to cross-dress, then she wore a mask, so she's only been going to school as herself for about a week. She sat down at a table, and opened the book. She pulled her long tresses of hair to hide her face and read it silently to herself. She felt comfortable studying alone.
@Rayne Calcifer grinned up at the other, amused by his reactions. Then at his words, Calcifer joked again, his voice deep and booming, "Really? What if I told you I've already perfected it, Doc?" There was a teasing tone to it. He leaned back on his chair, eyes not leaving the smaller male. "Well," he looked to the side, as though deep in thought, "You could make the ice. And I could try to melt it. Right?" There was a glint in his eye, excited once again.
