@Rayne Cooking had never been something Allydia really understood or tried to learn. Part of her life she had spent starving and surviving on scraps so she had always just sort of ate whatever was edible. She was getting better at enjoying it as a luxury or art form though, even allowing herself to try things that she never really considered. It was amazing how far she had come and how much she had grown since.

"So have you ever made something because you wanted to try it and found out it was terrible?" She asked as she finished off her portion of the sandwiches. The woman even gave him a small smile as he cleaned her hands of crumbs with a napkin before doing the same with her lips. "And these were very goo. Thank you." With a small nod she stood to help him gather the things to leave, feeling slightly at a loss because she had caught up on all of her work.
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Rayne was honestly quite glad that the other was opening and loosening up a bit more with him. It was better for her and also a nice change from the usually very rigid and stressed out headmistress. He knew that it was a change for the better, and although she was still guarded, it was progress. "I don't really know. I just like to cook anything that's good," he grinned, chuckling as he continued to eat the sandwiches.

He hummed as he wiped off his hands and finished up, looking over to the headmistress, "That was nice. How did you like the sandwiches, Allydia?" he asked, wondering if she had truly liked the ones she had eaten. "I'll have the pudding ready for you tomorrow," he reminded and sighed in satisfaction. "We should both probably get ready to get back to it," he said, stretching.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Keid Hearing him speak, she couldn't help but to smile just a little bit behind her austere mask. The expression didn't show so much on her lips but rather as a small sparkle in her eyes as she regarded the youth and she nodded slowly. He had will and ambition underneath everything that those who should have fostered him had failed to grind out of him. In her mind, it was as if they had moved away most of the impurities and what was left was a pile of uncut gems waiting for their time to shine.

"We all start as a breath of wind before the gale." she reminded him softly and cracked a slight smile, happy enough that he would be able to joke with her. "I think you will be surprised just how strong you are and how quickly you can attain that strength. You were selected to come here because we recognized your innate talents. It's all there waiting to be tapped and we want to show you how."

The headmistress leaned back a bit and gave him another look over, noting that his posture seemed to match his attitude. If he was truthful to the process he would be able to call down the fury of the heavens. As important as it was for him to even have that capability, she also wanted to know that when he did so that he would be doing it for the right reasons. Power did corrupt and she would be giving him a lot of it. Or rather unlocking the power inside of him.

"When you are ready, I will give you your first lessons." she said plainly and nodded, holding her opinions on his clan back for just the right tone. "Don't worry so much about your clan and what they think. It seems like the one lesson they forgot from the last war was how important each of us are and how crucial unity is. The peace here has made so many weak, gluttonous, and even cowardly when it should have done the opposite. We cannot stand alone against the beasts' horde and when the time comes, they are going to need you. We are all going to need you and each other."

@Rayne As Rayne glanced into her bin she could't help the small smile that tugged on the corners of her lips, knowing that the thing was more than half full of the burnt remains of her paperwork. It was oddly satisfying and she sort of wished she had taken the approach earlier. Of course she wouldn't tell him that but in some ways she did loosen up towards him. His tease caught her off guard and she felt the need to defend herself but she too hid that and pretended like she was fine anyway.

It was nice to know some things about the head physician and she was beginning to see just why he was so good at his job. He seemed to have a normal caring home and while she admired it, she was also vaguely jealous of it. That sort of life was something she could never relate to but it made her appreciate it all the more. "Are there any foods you like cooking most?" she asked in between bites. "Either to eat or to make because you know it shows off your skill."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Being ever so curious, Rayne decided that he would look in the bin afterwards anyway just because he wanted to. He knew that she must have gotten rid of a lot of papers after all, "Well, I'm glad that those papers will no longer //cause// you frustration anymore," he chuckled softly and smiled to the other. "I can guess one way would be making training sessions tougher on the students?" he teased and chuckled softly.

He didn't watch the other eat, knowing that would only be disturbing. He knew which filling to make for her the next time though since he knew which one she seemed to like the most. "Hm? Oh, my mother and father were both quite good at cooking. They taught the basics to me and then I just experimented a lot," he grinned and then took another mini sandwich to eat. "I've been cooking for myself for years now."
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne "You can look but it's nothing but ash. Looks like I had cremated a person and I'm trying to dispose of the body before the law catches up with me." She told him, her dry humor once again making itself known. The blonde did arch an eyebrow at the idea of pudding though and nodded. "So I will have something to look forward to now that I can no longer set fires to relieve my frustrations."

Allydia tentatively reached out and picked up the nearest mini sandwich, trying to discern what was in it before she took an exploratory bite. Again she nodded and finished the thing before looking for all of its coutnerparts. "How did you get so good at cooking?" She asked once she had all the like ones grouped together on her side of the tray. "Did you take classes or learn from someone nearby?"
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia The laughter that left his lips at the little 'warning' about the bin she gave him was out of genuine happiness. He was glad that she wasn't having to stress so much about those papers, or at least not so many of them anymore. "Well, I might take a peak later," he chuckled and hummed softly. He glanced down at the tray of sandwiches and shrugged, "But I thought I might as well. I'm gonna be making the pudding later so it can be ready for tomorrow," he grinned.

Rayne blinked a couple of times and then nodded, "Alright then," he grinned and sat down adjacent to her, grabbing a sandwich for himself, "I made a few different types and I purposely cut them smaller so you can try them~" he grinned and took a bite out of his first sandwich, humming happily at the taste of his own food.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne With a very small smile she waved him off and watched him disappear into the night. The blonde dropped her knotted grass rope and hugged her knees to her chest, resting there for a moment in thought. Allydia felt better having spoken to him but she was still worried about getting closer to him. The more he knew about her, the more dangerous he became to her, and she wasn't sure she could trust him so easily. With a slightly less heavy heart she retired to her chambers and readied for whatever the next day would bring.

First thing in the morning she burnt every single scrap of parchment that she deemed as useless, keeping only what was absolutely required for the Enclave to be informed of what was happening at the Academy. Troop numbers, training regimens, scout reports, and financial logs were all that would be necessary for being up to date. The bureaucrats were going to hate her streamlining but she also had to make sure that she was able to do what she remembered was her number one duty: actually training the students. Allydia was actually feeling quite proud of herself for her little stance as she noticed the doctor.

"For you sake, don't look in the trash can." she informed him lightly, even giving him a small smirk as she moved to the table and took a seat. It was then that she noticed he had actually brought her sandwiches and she couldn't help the little chuckle that escaped her lips as she saw it. "You know, you didn't really have to do this." The blonde pulled the tray over, glancing up at him for a moment before she decided to take a risk. "This is too much for me by myself, why don't you grab a chair and join me?"
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia The doctor chuckled softly at the other's words and smiled, "I see, good way of bonding I suppose," he chuckled softly. He smiled to the other and nodded, "I won't explode, but I might get more restless so yeah. I'll go for my run," he said, beginning to jog off, turning around to jog backwards to look at the headmistress, "Expect me sometime tomorrow with those sandwiches~!" he grinned. He waved to the headmistress before turning back around and then going for his run properly.

The next day, he woke up at his usual time and began preparing the sandwiches, making plenty for the infirmary staff as well as himself and the headmistress. He hummed as he took up a tray of sandwiches and knocked on the door before heading inside, "Good morning, Allydia~" he smiled, checking to make sure it was still morning on his watch. He smiled when it was not quite midday yet. He walked in and his smile got even brighter when he saw that her desk was a lot clearer. "Did you finish all of that work or did you do something to it?" he chuckled, placing the tray on the round table in the middle of the office.

@Keid The vibe she was getting from the male fluctuated a little and she felt a little saddened at how quickly he seemed to fold before her. Yes, she had authority over him and she could easy crush him in battle but she had made no such gestures. In fact, if anything, she had downplayed both to some degree but he didn't seem at all bolstered by it. That alone confirmed the rumors she had gathered about his past and encouraged her to continue, albeit in a slightly different matter.

Playing the mental game with him brought out some of the challenge she sensed in him but that too faded and she needed to find a way to harden that strength of his. He was more clever than he probably knew and she knew she could get him to understand that, even help him turn his capable defenses into a good offense. The male was bent but not broken and if she could help him rebuild then he would be stronger than he realized he could be.

"Being out of your comfort zone is not something to apologize for. It's to be expected for most here to be in a similar situation give our unique circumstances so there is no need to feel sorry unless you like blow a hole in my walls." she replied, joking with the youth a bit to see if maybe that would pull him a bit further out of his shell. Allydia knew she couldn't lead a soldier who didn't trust and respect her so that was important that he knew she was on his side. Or rather, they were on the same side. "Right now you are not even an arrow, not yet. You are the flint, rope, wood, and feathers that make an arrow but you are only beginning to see your potential. But that is why you are here."

The headmistress withdrew her hand and lightly tapped his chin with her fingers, nudging his gaze upward. "I know where you come from and have an idea what you have endured. They made you think you are weak but if you were, then you wouldn't even have made it this far." Allydia told him flatly as if she was reciting facts. "The first thing I am going to do for you is help you get right with you. Mastering the elements can be dangerous if you can't master yourself. Would you like to see just how strong you are?"
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Keid It was interesting to see him react as he too tried to figure her out. She guessed he was used to mind games and being manipulated by those over him so it was a form of self-preservation to try and discern the others' motives. In some way she wondered what he saw when he looked at her. Could he see beneath her careful and practiced facade, could he predict what was going on in her mind, or was he trying to play it neutral because he was in the dark. Either way, she respected him and his quiet strength.

The mention of his other clan members gave her the reaction she was looking for. Just the smallest flicker of emotion ghosted across his face that echoed of torn thoughts, too complex to be guessed completely. It was possible that he himself wasn't entirely sure how he felt on the matter, not exactly wanting to be alone but not wanting the oppressive clan he was used to either. The feeling was one she could relate to and in that moment she felt the small flicker of connection with the youth.

"We all need to adjust." she corrected him politely and met his eyes to express her sincerity. "This school does not work by employing only one way of thought, training or being. At least not and still create warriors able to adapt to any threat to protect us. We all change together and become stronger with that change. A single arrow may be broken easily but a bundle is strong." The blonde offered a small almost mischievous smile before she continued, hoping he would understand the full meaning. "Harder still to break an entire armory."

Allydia took a deep breath as she reached out to touch his shirt, wondering just what he would do. It was not an aggressive movement, nor ual, but rather passive and pensive as she weighed the options. Her words were balanced carefully before she decided a course of action. "It will not be easy here unless you wish it to be." she said calmly. "The mind controls much, does it not? If you wish, I can help you. Train you from time to time to bolster any lessons you receive elsewhere."
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Keid There were many layers to the young man before her and she watched and listened carefully as he chose his words. He was truthful, mostly, or 'diplomatic' as she might have described his answers. Some of it had double meanings and some pieces were tastefully edited to avoid subjects that maybe weren't as pleasant. She had to admit he was showing more poise than she would expect from someone of his years and she made a mental note of it.

To her it seemed like his intellect was probably his best natural weapon, whether he knew it or not, and that his lack of what many others would deem formal schooling would not be an issue. If he could grasp his lessons with the same open skill with which he handled the complex issues she allowed him to dodge she could see he would adapt quite well. Of course it seemed like he didn't know that but she doubted he had been tested in such a way before.

"I know more Haeyari will come in time. Your elders are cautious with reason but I would not be here without their support at the Enclave when I opened this school." she said quietly, watching to see if he had any reaction to that news. Allydia was not too familiar with his family's section of the clan but she knew their high elder council better than just about anyone but the Haeyari themselves. The rest was just rumors but the whispers of isolationism and imprisonment among any of them was less than ideal. "Is there anything I can do for you to make it feel more like home?"

The blonde arched an eyebrow at him curiously, noting his determination as well as the misunderstandings about the school. "There is no school like this so there are virtually no lessons that could have prepared you for here unless you had started training to be a Sentinel before." she informed him and gave a small, encouraging half-smile. "Here you are going to learn how to harness the air as few in the world can. One in thousands have the kind of strength you and you classmates have. It won't be easy and some of it might not come naturally but you can do it. Just keep that attitude."
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Keid As Allydia sat at her then mostly cleared desk she found that she liked it that way. No, she hadn't actually caught up on her paperwork like she had originally intended or at least not in the way the clan elders would have preferred. The ashes of all that wasn't essential had been dumped in her trash can and the precious few documents that remained to be passed along were in their proper places to be carried off in the morning. Her new level of efficiency actually left her time to do what she felt she had been sent there to do in the first place; train the next generation of soldiers how to find their northern enemies.

Her first step was to greet a new student to the academy whom her sources had indicated could use a bit of extra guidance. Given her past in intelligence she always found it useful to have her own informants spread far and wide that could provide any data she could turn to an advantage. Some might have viewed her methods as shady and untrustworthy but she only had the best interests of Kynarra at heart and she knew the score better than most. As the Headmistress she couldn't simply wait for problems to pop up and scramble for a solution, she couldn't expect her students or her teachers always coming to her when they needed help. Her position of authority made her seem harder to talk to, distant and above them, an image that could be detrimental when she knew that before too long they would have to rely on each other. So she decided to be proactive about it and chose to start with one student in particular that came from a complicated situation.

When the young man entered her office she stood politely to greet him. As usual she was clad in her dark mail and leather armor. The set was well worn and comfortable, no longer stiff or creaky as she moved towards him and extended her arm in a small gesture coax him closer. Her bright blue eyes didn't miss a thing as she gave him a once over, noting immediately how he seemed almost timid.

"Good day." she replied calmly and folded her pale hands in front of her, interlocking the fingers. "I am welcoming you, Keid. Don't worry, you are not in trouble. It is more like I am trying to make sure that you settle in here well." The blonde paused for a moment, trying to figure out the best way to approach the youth. "Not many Haeyari choose to come down from the mountain but we are honored you have done so and come here. Are you finding everything to your liking?"
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne "I suppose being a doctor sometimes doubles as a morale officer. Mental health, stress, and whatnot." she said with a small shrug, glancing at the teapot he left on her desk. It was a simple gesture and deep down she appreciated it but she couldn't admit it to him. From when she was very small she had been trained to be strong, show nothing and give away nothing except for what was advantageous at the time. Allydia had always worn a mask, being herself was virtually unheard of, and only was she able to do so on very rare occasions so she found it difficult to be open with him.

The position was new to her and she wasn't sure just how much she was supposed to be a warrior, a symbol for the school, or a real person. She expected it was both given the situation but these were odd circumstances and she didn't know where the boundaries for each lay. Only careful trials would help her learn and she figured these small conversations with Rayne were a good way to test. "Thank you." she replied quietly as she began focusing on her task again. "And you too. Don't work too hard."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia There were times when Rayne wondered if Allydia was alright with her position. It seemed to take such a toll on her. But he wouldn't say anything unless she said something first. He laughed softly at the joke she made and shook his head in amusement, "Me? A morale officer?" he chuckled and shook his head, "It isn't right for the person I am now. If need be, perhaps in the future, but I'm content right now," he smiled.

He took his cup but left the tray with the teapot there on the table, "Right, I'll let you get back to it," he smiled. "You can keep that. If it gets cold, you can still have it, but you can just reheat it and have it," he said, gesturing to the teapot. He began walking to the door, his back to the headmistress. "And Allydia, I know we're not that close, but if you ever need someone to listen to you, you know I'm almost always in the infirmary," he said. He opened the door and then turned around, bowing to the headmistress, "Have a good day and night. Hope those papers get done quickly," he grinned before he shut the door.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne Although there was part of her that admired how seemingly carefree he was and she had to admit to herself that she was actually a little jealous that he could be so, but she just couldn't join him on that level. Even when she joked there was always something holding her back from being truly unfettered. Whether responsibilities, guilt in her own darkness, or a mixture of the two she couldn't say but there was always that feeling in her chest that kept her bound in stark realities.

"Maybe we should have made you a morale officer and not a doctor." she half-joked as she turned her attention back to her piles of papers. If she had known when offered the position she would be so constrained she might have turned it down. It felt less like she was preparing students for war than writing a book that contained nothing but her name by hand. "I am pleased to know that you are enjoying yourself up here but I really should get back to this. Unfortunately these aren't going anywhere."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia The change in the conversation's tone was an obvious one and he didn't really mind. Rayne was there to present what he had to to the headmistress but also check on her to make sure she was okay. Any conversations other than that were perfectly okay. "Well, that's good that you're not sleep deprived," he smiled. He hummed and then shrugged, "I dunno to be honest. It's just different from what I grew up around and it's honestly just nice being around here."

He looked up, matching the other's gaze with his own. Rayne was never one to be intimidated very easily, he only pretended to be intimidated every so often. "I entertain myself actually. From just letting my thoughts and questions run my day or just wandering about and finding things to learn about, and of course, I spend time relaxing too." He sighed in content and nodded to himself, "I guess you could say that I'm enjoying myself whilst I can," he said, glancing out the window. "I'm not senseless. I dunno when or where it will happen, but I know that someday, this so-called "peace" will end," he said, a much more serious look in his eyes for a moment before he was smiling once more. "But until then, we should enjoy ourselves," he chuckled, acting as if he hadn't said anything that was important.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne Judging from his reaction she had played it perfectly as responded like only a doctor should. Part of her was slightly saddened by it though as now it steered their conversation into more serious waters. "I am not sleep deprived either." she informed him and finished up her tea, her lips slowly to savor the last drop before she continued. "What is it that you are working on that keeps you so entranced up here in the mountains?"

Her piercing blue eyes fixated on him again and she tilted her head slightly in her curiosity. They didn't have many injuries or sicknesses at the academy so she guessed that he had plenty of time to study anything he wanted. "How do you keep from being bored?" she asked and looked at the piles on her desk. "I know you don't have this kind of thing to worry about so what do you do in the infirmary all day?"
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia A different emotion radiated off of the other for a moment, but it soon disappeared and Rayne honestly wondered if he would ever see a different, much deeper side to the headmistress. He pushed that thought aside as quickly as it came though since he, as much as he liked to play around, knew when to stop with the boundaries.

Baekhyun hummed slightly, "Well, if you get a good sleep, then you should wake up just fine. Are you perhaps sleep deprived?" he asked, his years learning about different symptoms and different conditions all flooding into his conscious thoughts. He was brought out of his thoughts by the question. "How do I sleep?" he echoed before humming in thought. "Well that depends if I end up falling asleep at my desk or if I make it to a bed," he chuckled softly, rubbing his nape sheepishly. "It's not the healthiest, but I can't help it when I get so absorbed into my work sometimes," he added.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne An urge to play with him filled her and she felt it tingle all the way to her fingertips. The desire to toy with him, to prod to see what sort of rise she could get from him spread like a wildfire but she quickly doused it. They weren't friends, they barely even knew each other, and the less he knew the better. That was how she would keep them all safe. No distractions. So she just let it slide.

"It might surprise you that I actually sleep quite well. It's the getting up part that is difficult." she replied calmly, careful not to give away whether she was telling the truth or not. That too was part of her game but she wasn't entirely sure he knew she was playing. The blonde felt a little bad toying with him when he was being so sincere but she just couldn't help herself. In some ways she was testing him. "How do you sleep?"
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Rayne smiled back to the other since she seemed to relax a lot more once he made it clear that he knew what the other meant. "I will be careful, don't worry. But even if that kind of situation happens to arise, I can always tell them off, I can get pretty mean when I'm accused of something that isn't true. But it's not like many people would think that our personalities would match up," he added.

He grinned and almost - almost - jumped in the air, but contained it, when she said that it was a good tea. "Well, it will help you sleep easier tonight. This tea helps you get into a bit more of a deeper, more rejuvenating sleep that will most likely help those silly thoughts about all your work go away for a little while at least, Allydia. I'm sure you wouldn't mind sleeping with a clear head, now would you?" he smiled, this time not one of his goofy, playful ones, but one of genuine sincerity.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne There was a rush of relief that washed over her as she saw it finally clicked with him and she once again breathed deeply. At least it was some small victory to not have to completely spell it out for him and that alone earned Rayne a rare, small smile from the headmistress before she covered it with her teacup. This time she drank slowly and did the best she could to relax, hoping to avoid the problems of her previous attempt.

"You don't really have to apologize but yes, please be more careful with your wording." she said quietly as she looked up at him again, having regained her composure. "I know your words are innocent and you know that but I do not want either of us in a situation that could be compromising." Allydia glanced down at her cup and nodded slowly. "You were right about this tea though. It is pretty nice."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Rayne waited for some kind of response from the other and then when he heard the other speaking so slowly, he could only blink a few times. Before it clicked. "Oh." He took a moment to let it process and then smacked himself in the face with his hand, laughing into it as his face became a little red. He leaned against the table with his other hand and shook his head as he calmed down.

"Oh my lord. Oh goodness, I'm terribly sorry Allydia, I didn't mean it that way," he said and calmed down, taking a few deep breaths to calm down his laughter. "Oh gosh, I didn't even think before I said that," he said to himself and shook his head a bit, lightly slapping his own two cheeks before drinking the whole cup of tea, "I am gonna be more careful with my choice of words from now on," he chuckled.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne It was only by the grace of the gods that she was too preoccupied with trying to breathe again otherwise she would have choked at his words. Or stared. Probably both before gaping with an open mouth which is just about the best she could do. The woman was truly without words as she looked upon the man, the boy, the , and tried to form a thought. Nothing came though and all she could do was shake her head.

Given his previous statement she was not at all surprised he didn't know what she was talking about so she decided to compose herself before she explained. "Have you ever had a naughty thought or spoken with a euphemism?" she asked, speaking slowly so that when he thought back about what he said he would hopefully figure out what she meant. He was a little old to give the birds and the bees talk to but she was preparing herself to do just that if she had to. "Poke."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Rayne smiled to the other and then hummed softly as he thought back to when he was at the other academy as a student. "I think I just wanted to take my time a bit. You know, take it easy and take it slow," he nodded, more to himself than anyone else. He chuckled softly and shook his head, "In all my 30 years of being alive, I've never once been with anyone."

When the other choked on the drink, he was a little worried, but what stopped him from asking if the other was okay was the following words she said to him. "Wrong idea?" he asked, honestly confused, "What do you mean? And are you okay? I didn't mean to make you choke," he was genuinely sorry for making her nearly choke but also still just as confused.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne As soon as he said it she knew she should have just gone with Essara to begin with, especially given his attempts at the nevermelting ice. Sometimes she felt dumb for second-guessing herself, her intuition had saved her more times than she could count but she still didn't always trust it. "I have seen some of your skill, I am surprised it took you even five years." she commented. "Did something or someone have you distracted? Or did you maybe not know your calling until much later?"

The blonde rolled her eyes a little as she held the cup in her hands, letting the warmth sink into her skin before she took a drink. She picked the wrong moment though because his choice of words caught her by surprise. Her breath caught in and some of the tea threatened to come out of her nose, stinging her nostrils. With a gasp she tried to clear the passage."Please don't say anything like that to me again." Allydia coughed, color flushing her pale face. "If someone were walking past they would get the absolute wrong idea."
Rayne 7 years ago
@Allydia Rayne didn't mind the fact that the other hadn't memorised his file yet. He didn't expect it out of the headmistress, especially when she had so many other things in her head to think about. "I attended Essara, graduated within a matter of five years," he answered and smiled to the other. He nodded and poured out the special tea, "Yes, healing arts is definitely correct."

He placed the two cups of tea down on the tray and hummed softly, "If you had kicked me out, I would come by later," he answered. He widened his eyes at the thought of the other running out and jumping through the window and chuckled, "Well, then, I would have chase you. We can't have our own headmistress running amuck of the place, now can we?" he laughed softly and shook his head in amusement. "Now, here, have this," he smiled, handing over the cup to the other before taking a sip of his own cup of tea. "I know you don't like it when people try to push past your professionalism, but I also know that you don't mind the occasional poke~ Especially from me~" he grinned.
Allydia [A] 7 years ago
@Rayne "Which academy did you attend? I know I should probably have your file memorized by now but frankly that is not something I am ever going to do." she admitted casually as she readjusted her position so that her armor stopped bunching at her lower back. Sure she probably didn't have to wear it and many of the others must have thought she was insane but she didn't care. Allydia felt so without the familiar heft and weight of the leather and metal. Even the smell was somehow oddly comforting to the warrior. Satisfied her attire was in place again she focused back on the man, her steely blue eyes giving nothing away. "Was it with the women of the peaks in Haeyari or the beautiful beaches of Essara? I know both schools pride themselves in healing arts."

Her face remained impassive through the nurse's short visit but she did shoot Rayne a mildly annoyed glance as soon as she was gone again. "What would you have done if I had refused and kicked you out of my office?" she asked. "I have that power, you know. Or what if I ran straight out that window at the sight of you? I could do that too. And sometimes, it really does cross my mind." The Headmistress was teasing him, joking with him a little in her own combative way that showed she appreciated his gesture because the words 'thank you' rarely passed her rosy lips. "What would you do then? Would you chase?"

@Allydia Rayne stood there, his hands behind his back as though he was inspecting something but really, he did that so he wouldn't just go around grabbing things. He hummed, tilting his head from side to side as she said that, "Well, it could be boring, but I don't let it become boring," he said, "And anyway, after that time as a student at the other academy, I just wanted to settle down a bit and help others in any way possible."

The response he received about the tea, although a little belated, wasn't at all surprising. He knew his way around the headmistress' cold front enough to get her to loosen up a bit. "Yes I did. I actually already had some made and asked one of the nurses to bring it down here." He turned around and headed over to the door, where a nurse greeted him with a tray with a pot of tea, two cups, and some sugar. "Thank you deary," he said before shutting the door and heading back over to Allydia. "I would have given it to you whether you accepted or declined," he chuckled.

@Rayne A blonde eyebrow arched delicately upward at his comment but that was the only physical reaction she gave to what he said. "Honestly if I think something was that serious around here you might be just as happy, if not happier." she said almost sarcastically. "I know this is probably the most boring post you could have pulled with your skill. You've got to be itching to do more than patch up scraped knees and cure the occasional pink eye."

Allydia glanced from the doctor to the window, her heart aching to be able to let go of all of her duties and run for the hills but she knew she couldn't. There was nowhere to run anyway. "It's not the stress." she mumbled and breathed before turning to him again. "You talked about this tea as if it were magical, why haven't you made me any yet? You did offer, right?"
