@Rayne Lucus looked over to the other and smiled softly to him before nodding "yes, now I have you" he said before chuckling slightly as he crossed his legs putting his arms on them, he nodded at what Ryane said knowing that he shouldn't over work it "your right, I'll try not to over work myself" he said even though that was easier said then done for him. Lucus looked over to Ryane once again curiously before smiling "really? It must of been great living by the sea" he said before nodding St hie next question "yes, I promised my perents that I will become a decent fighter to protect myself and my family" he admitted before shrugging slightly before gently touching the water with his fingertips.
@Lucus Rayne nodded to the boy and grinned to him, "Well, now you have me~" he chuckled softly and smiled. He hummed and nodded to the younger, "Yeah, work hard, but also rest plenty too. Don't overdo it to the point that you're fainting everyday," he advised and nodded as he spoke. "I see, I didn't really have rivers by my home back in Essara territory, I lived by the beach," he explained. "Did you want to become a decent fighter? Since you have come to this academy after all," he asked curiously.
@Rayne Lucus smiled and nodded liking the idea "yes, that would actually be great since I do need a little more help in some things" he said and nodded slightly before listening quietly as Rayne talked "I see, ok I will work hard then to get them" since he wanted to make his family prod of him at least. Lucus nodded slightly as he looked back at the river "yeah, it remains me of the one that I use to go to near my home, you could say being by the river gives me good memories" he said with a soft smile on his face.
@Lucus Rayne smiled to the boy and hummed softly, "Yeah, even if you learn the right kind of stuff from the staff, you can always have me to refer back to if you're unsure," he grinned and then hummed, nodding. "The first few aren't too difficult as long as you keep practicing. It obviously gets a bit more difficult with the higher ones," he said. He looked around and sighed softly, "Do you like to come to this river?"
@Rayne Lucus nodded slightly as he listened baking sure to take note kn his mind to know where to find him if he did need the other "thank you, that wound help a lot if I had someone other then the teachers to help me" he admitted, he listened to Rayne as he talked "I see, so it's different for everyone. I hope I do hood enough to just get my first one" he said and shock his head slightly. Lucus laughed softly at that and hummed slightly in reply "that's ture, we're not busy at all right now" which he was happy about for now.
@Lucus The doctor smiled to the other and then hummed softly, "Well, I'm either in the infirmary or wandering about if you ever need me," he grinned. He nodded and chuckled softly, "Yeah, I have all ten, for me it took about 5 years, but it's different for everyone," he explained. He shook his head and smiled, "Nah, ask all you want to know," he grinned. "It's not like we're busy or anything."
@Rayne Lucus nodded slightly glad that it was someone from his own clan that was here with him "yes, not that long at all" he said smiling slightly at the other before going back to looking at the water. Lucus smiled before looking back at Rayne "yes, and that us actually great since I do need a lot if help in somethings" he admitted before chuckling slightly before looking at the other curiously "really? You have all 10? Did it take long to get them?" He asked before stopping himself and rubbed the back of his head slightly "sorry about all the questions I get curious pretty easily" he admitted.
@Lucus Rayne was pretty happy that there was someone from his clan here and hummed softly, "I see, not long at all then." He nodded and smiled to the other, "Well, I'm sure the other staff and sentinels will be able to help you train to gain your emblems, but if you ever need some pointers from someone who is from the same clan," he said and pointed to himself, "I don't mind helping. I mean, I'm the doctor but I also have all 10 emblems of Essara," he grinned.
@Rayne Lucus laughed slightly before nodding as he looked back at the water "that's true, I guess it isn't" he said before smiling as he shock Raynes hand "I'm Lucus, it's very nice to meet you" he said happily before pulling his hand back after the hand shake. Lucus shock hid head slightly "well, I've been here about a week so not that long really" he admitted to the other with a slight smile.
@Lucus The doctor shook his head to the other's apology and smiled, "It's fine. It's not like this place is restricted or anything," he chuckled softly. He smiled and then continued to listen, "Yeah, I know what you mean," he smiled. He held out a hand for a handshake to the boy and smiled, "I'm Rayne, Essara, just like you," he grinned and then shook the boy's hand before humming softly, "Have you been at this school for long?" he asked curiously, wondering if the other was a new student or not.
@Rayne Lucus had finished all his classes and decided to go down to the river to relax like he always did back at home to, he sat down near the edge looking into the water crossing his legs and let out a soft sigh as I thought to myself not noticing that someone else has come until he herd a voice. Lucus turned to look at the other surprised that there was someone there before smiling back at him "sorry I didn't know anyone else cane here at this time" he admitted, he nodded slightly at the question before he looked back at the water "that's right, I feel the happiest when I'm near dome kind of water" he admitted and chuckled softly.
@Lucus It was around the afternoon and Rayne was just about finished up in the infirmary for the day since most training sessions ans lessons were over. He could always pop back in if they needed him anyway. He headed down to the river where he liked to relax after working, though he was surprised to see someone else there before him. He headed down, smiling as he approached the edge of the river and to the figure who was sitting there, "Didn't expect anyone to be here before me," he chuckled softly as he sat down beside the other. He glanced over at the student and smiled, "Essara, right?"
@Rayne Calcifer's laughter bubbled down as he slowed to a stop, farther away from the water now. He turned back around and admired the water again, how it looked as it gently flowed downstream. How it sounded. There was nothing quite like it, that much he was sure of. And as his gaze trailed back to Rayne, the bright, gentle doctor he'd unconsciously grown a liking to, he couldn't help the excitement that bubbled deep in his chest. He smiled one last time, gave a boyish wave, and called out, "I'll see you around, old man!" before disappearing back to the dorms. He got cleaned up, and quickly headed to bed, the doctor's advice running through his head.
@Calcifer The doctor looked over to the other and smiled in satisfaction as the other finally seemed to accept the offer completely. "I am, aren't I?" he teased and chuckled softly, "Well, I dunno, I still kinda wanna know what word you'd use to describe my eyes other than pretty," he mentioned, half jokingly as he honestly did want to know. He blinked a few times as the student mentioned that he'd do a favour, making Rayne stop for a moment and smile, "Thanks, Calcifer," he said softly before laughing as he was splashed with water.
@Rayne At the doctor's suggestion, Calcifer couldn't make himself stop smiling a little bit. It excited him. Ignoring the fact that he might not be able to face his family without this hanging over him (or how he felt that someday in the future, they would find out about this), he felt good. More than that, it gave him a different motivation to get better at his own element, not that he needed any more. He just felt like he had more to fight harder for. "You're right," he chuckled. He stood up and jumped off of the large rock. "Alright, alright, I will. Wouldn't want you to see me in the infirmary again, would we, old man?" At this point he felt almost completely at ease, which was nice. New. "Oh, and doc? If there's anything you'd want me to do for you, I'd be glad to. Think of it as a sort of... thanks?" he chuckled, bent down to the water before splashing it at the other, running away with a laugh.
@Calcifer It made Rayne pretty happy to know that the other seemed to want it, that he wasn't pushing that want away so much. He hummed in thought, nodding slightly, "Yes, that's true, but that doesn't mean you can't learn the basics at all. If you get all the silly little basic things out of the way now, then at least if you really do decide to continue learning and earning the Essara emblems, then at least you already know the basics," he smiled. "Gives you extra knowledge later whether you actually use it to continue or just as knowledge," he said before chuckling softly, "Glad you look happy. But you should go to bed soon Calcifer, you're tired," he smiled.
@Rayne The assurance gave little ease to Calcifer. It only made the chance that much closer, the choice that much realer. Deep down, he knew he was really going for this, but at least he put up a fight, right? At least he hesitated a little bit? Calcifer frowned, until in front of him the doctor he'd met earlier had literally transformed into water, his body clear and translucent. He couldn't really help but smile a little at the sight. It kind of made the decision for him, except, well... "Wouldn't I need to master my own element first? Before I can start learning yours?" he inquired, a sense of excitement and motivation rushing through him for some reason. "Right, of course," and just as the other had mentioned it, Calcifer could suddenly feel how heavy and tired his muscles were. No matter how exhausted he felt though, he couldn't help the grin that formed upon his lips.
@Calcifer Rayne chuckled softly at the nickname and couldn't help but feel almost like a father. He looked after so many students and saw them at their weakest after all. He smiled to the other, letting him take a few moments to think to himself. He turned around as Calcifer took a seat on a stone and chuckled, "It's plenty obvious to me," he smiled. He nodded, "I swear, I promise, whatever you'd like to call it. I've never broken my word and never will," he said confidently. He smiled to the other and smiled, "After all, I'm sure you'd at least wanna learn how to harness the ability to become water, right?" he asked as he became a clear body of water, only in the shape of his body. He turned back right after and then smiled to the younger, "Tonight, let's just rest since you're tired anyway, but just let me know the next time you want to meet and start practicing," he grinned.
@Rayne Calcifer smirked, then softly cooed, "Alright, old man," before chuckling at himself. He sounded ridiculous. He knew he wasn't actually going to go ahead and do that, he was just being playful. Just for this moment. He tensed, however, at the other's next words, at his gentle smile. He didn't expect Rayne to actually go along, to be so willing. For a moment, Calcifer was at war with himself. He could take this chance, he really could, and he was so close now after years of just reading about this element, these people. Now he was so close to learning it. To be one with the water that mesmerized him. But if he learned it, if he even tried, how could he go home? How could he face his family ever again? What would that make of his loyalty? It all suddenly felt so stupid now. Calficer stood and walked over to a large rock near the water, climbed on top of it and sat cross-legged. "I didn't realize how obvious it was," he murmured, eyes once again drawn to the moonlight glinting off the surface. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath and asked, "You promise you won't tell anyone?"
@Calcifer The doctor rolled his eyes and chuckled softly, "Sure, why not~?" he teased and shook his head in amusement. "I don't see why not. No one else has to know. And I am never one to break promises or give away secrets," he explained. He was always a loyal person, though he didn't show it too much through words, but rather actions, subtly. He smiled to the other and nodded, "If you wish for me to do so, then I shall." He watched the other and hummed, his eyes glowing blue once more, "I can sense it you know, your connection to the water," he said softly.
@Rayne Calcifer laughed slightly at the doctor, at his forlorn expression. "Should I start calling you old man?" he teased, deep voice amused. At the other's words, Calcifer looked away once more, his fingers moving around in the water. "What are you trying to imply? That I should learn this element?" He wouldn't say that he couldn't imagine himself doing it; it's something he's always wanted to do, deep down. Despite being firmly loyal to his clan, despite the comfort and familiarity of his own element, there was no denying that he'd always been drawn to the water, always been drawn to everything he wasn't. Drawn to what could be his biggest weakness. "Are you saying you're going to help me?" he asked jokingly, even though deep down he wasn't laughing.
@Calcifer "Still so young~ Can't believe you're 11 years younger than me," he sighed almost sadly and then chuckled at himself. He watched how the younger reacted to his words and couldn't help but notice the strain in his voice. It was subtle but it was still there. "You know, it isn't all too smart to lie when part of you is in the element I'm a master of," he said rather matter-of-factly. He smiled to the other. "You should do what you want. Don't let some silly higher ups run your life. And anyway, who said you can't learn it in secret," he smiled. "I'm a trained doctor, but I am just as good of a fighter as I am a doctor, I know, the irony~" he chuckled.
@Rayne "I'm nineteen," Calcifer replied, once again squatting down to dip his hand in the cool water. At Rayne's words, Calcifer's gaze fell. Conservative, huh? It was honestly more like raised in a household of superior people, who all believed that their clan was and always will be better than others. Calcifer had hated it, which was primarily why he left. "Well, that's good to know, huh." His throat tightened up again. If he even had a single thought of trying to learn a different clan's element, he wouldn't be able to step a foot back at home. All he was allowed to do was become a master of his own. So, Calcifer opened his mouth to reply, his lips forming lie after lie, "Nah, you're probably imagining that. It's hot out tonight, and I just wanted to cool down." When he looked up, he smiled, hoping he sounded the least bit like he believed himself.
@Calcifer He smiled to the younger and hummed, "How old are you by the way?" he asked curiously and then nodded, "Well, I'm not surprised that you're tired after all you went through today," he laughed softly. He nodded once more, "Fresh air is good. Well, it may be more difficult, but it's not impossible. After all, the Headmistress knows all five, the Sentinels all have 10 emblems from at least their own clan and more with the higher ranks," he smiled. He smiled to the younger and sighed, "You sure were raised quite conservatively," he chuckled. "I can tell that you like the water. Not just anyone can be so very mesmerised by it like you were. I can just see the connection," he smiled, an air of obvious wisdom about Rayne, one of the few moments when he wasn't so weird and hyper, but instead the wise, 10 emblem holding Essara clan member.
@Rayne Calcifer looked down at his hand, then back up at the other male. "Thanks. I guess." He glanced down at Rayne's form, noticing the way he effortlessly sat on the surface like it was made of glass rather than water. "I was distracted. Tired." Once again, Calcifer tried to control his expression, seemingly unfazed even when he was completely impressed. It wasn't like he hadn't seen amazing things from the people of his clan as well, it was just that it was nice to see what others could do as well, things that he could only imagine doing. He snorted at the doctor's last question, "I was just getting some fresh air," he lied. "And what are you saying? We both know that's not possible." He let out a fit of shaky laughter, scratching his cheek and glancing towards one side of the river, at the flowing water, how it reflected the moonlight. Then, he looked back at Rayne, the words bubbling out of his mouth, "Is it?" His eyes young and clueless.
@Calcifer Rayne chuckled softly at the other's very defensive reaction and smiled to the other, "Nice reflexes you have there though," he smiled. He nodded and hummed, "I was just down further along the river actually. I'm surprised you didn't notice me since I was hovering in a bubble of water," he laughed softly. He sighed softly and tilted his head rather curiously, "What's a fire boy like you doing out here? You interested in gaining Essara emblems as well some time?" he asked.
@Rayne In surprise, Calcifer jumped back up onto his feet, his arms immediately going up in a defensive form, a hand lighting ablaze with fire. With the light coming from his hand, the change in his expression was clear; from strained and concentrated, to relieved and relaxed as he realized it was just the doctor he'd met earlier. The fire went out and his arms dropped back to his sides, his shoulders visibly less tense. "You surprised me," he sighed, his lips forming into a bashful smile. "And I could say same to you. For all the times I've been out here, this is the first time I actually bumped into someone I know."
@Calcifer As soon as there was a presence that was moving through the forest, Rayne had come back out from his meditative state. He still stayed within his bubble though. He waited and soon enough, he sensed that it was that tall student from before, Calcifer. He decided to slowly move into the river water silently before disappearing beneath it's surface. He changed into his water form and moved through the water effortlessly before he was on the opposite side of the river from the student.
He slowly rose up out of the water, his water form changing back to his normal state before he simply was sitting on top of the water's surface, "Wasn't expecting anyone else out here," he chuckled softly.
@Rayne Calcifer had just finished with his training that day. His body was exhausted and heavy, but he felt satisfied, either way. He didn't like wasting time; if he could spend every second making himself better, either physically or mentally, he would do it. From the training grounds, he'd stalked off into the castle forest like he always did. The tall trees no longer intimidated him, instead he felt rather relaxed under their protection. He easily made his way through the woods, following the mental trail that led to the river.
The sun had already sunk, however some of its rays still lit up the sky in a soft blue. Calcifer made his way to the water, stepping over large rocks. The sound of the current lulled him into a familiar sense of tranquility; an ability of water that he couldn't find from anything else. It was strange. He was born and raised in the Filaren clan, however he was there, dipping his hand the cool, clear water and finding that it relaxed him. He felt the currents around his fingers and was truly mesmerized, so much so that he failed to even notice the man he'd met earlier just down the river.
@Calcifer "Mhmm, funny," he chuckled and smiled brightly. He hummed softly and proceeded to clean up whatever he had used. "Nah, it's fine. You're just trying to be a tough guy, I understand," he grinned. He hummed and nodded to the other, "Well, alright then, your body, your choice. I'm just the doctor," he chuckled softly. He bid the other farewell and then sighed softly, he had a feeling he would see the other sooner rather than later.
It was later in the evening when he was done for the day, taking a break before he would go for his nightly run. He was in an Embrace of the Sea, in a lotus position in a large bubble of water as he meditated out by the river, where not many were around. He did this every few days to rejuvenate himself a bit.
