Stoic was one way to describe Allydia on the battlefield on most occasions but this was different. They weren't actually trying to eliminate each other, there was nothing at stake except maybe a bit of pride and even that wasn't serious. It was for the pure fun of it, just playtime among those who were gifted snouts to be able to control the elements with ease and she was having a great time.
The blonde clasped her hands in front of her calmly as he approached, only arching a well-shaped eyebrow at him in silent challenge before he disappeared. It was a smooth tactic and she let out a small laugh, nodding at his ingenuity as she waited for his next move. Of course she could feel the energy building beneath her just before his hands erupted but she didn't want to work that hard and it wasn't like he was going to hurt her. Instead she dropped her hands to her side and braced herself as the ground seemed to rise up, making sure to note how and where he came back up again.
Her sharp eyes caught his shape against the blue sky and the tingling at the base of her spine indicated that he still wasn't done. Rather than wait for him to finish his attack, she reached into the earth around her again and this time pulled the dirt up to completely encase her like a suit of armor. From inside she couldn't even fell the temperature rising, the cool soil protecting her from the fiery blast perfectly. 'So he wants to do tricks?' She thought with a small mental laugh before she started her counterattack.
Allydia closed her eyes and quickly focused her energy within her, pulling it deep and compacting it tightly before pushing it back outward again with incredible force. Her earthen armor shattered and exploded, chunks of fiery and semi-molten earth shooting out in all directions. For some, that alone would have been enough but not for her.
With the rush of air around her again, she imbued herself with it and moved toward him with tremendous speed. Her hands clenched into fists and with each step she pooled her internal energy there, causing lightning to arc around her and between them like a jacob's ladder. High above in the clouds she began to stir about something else. As she drew close she raised them over her head and brought them back down to smash the ground beside him with her might; the spark between her and the swirling above igniting a massive storm which sent one hugely destructive bolt through her and into the area she hit. The flash was nearly blinding, the sound deafening and the force of the strike cracked the earth as it sent a rippling shockwave which was felt all the way to the tree line.
@Allydia Aoi immediately moved his arms in front of his face like a barricade, letting the water press against him as he felt his body move back just slightly from the force. Uncovering his face, Aoi smiled. "Oh, so we're going to start this?" Flicking his wrist, stitches of flames etched into his hand, engulfing his skin in small black flames. "We can be nice with this or..." Crouching slightly, Aoi began to sprint. As soon as he gotten close enough to Allydia, his form disappeared. There was silence, nothing to be heard from him or around the area but the blowing wind.
Aoi forced both of his hands up, punching through the ground from under as he tightly gripped around his sisters ankles. As he pulled her down, he quickly shot up from the other side. He was still well in the air, taking in a lung full of air, he heaved forward to release a long line of flames towards the other. His eyes had caught on how well trapped she was, only able to see her from her shoulders up. Slowly watching the flames cover the area, he lightly landed on his feet, a triumphant smile on his lips.
"You know how much I like doing tricks~" He cooed playfully. Looking down, Aoi started to pat his clothes to rid of the little dirt that was left on his clothes. He knew very well that Allydia could get out of this very easily, he just waited for her to move. Hell, for all he knew, she could of been around him already. He never once lost his guard, listening closely to what was around him. Yet, there wasn't anything just yet. She had to be out, there was no way.
@Aoi Seeing the look in his face was priceless and for the blonde it was everything she could have hoped for. A surge of childlike glee coursed through her and shook her body with laughter, so much that she had to cover her face with a pale hand just to keep some semblance of maturity. That was part of why she loved him though. He always brought out the hidden sides of her, the ones she treasured more than anything else, and for once she got to be just herself.
"You really should have expected it and I am a little surprised that you didn't." she admitted as she took in a few deep calming breaths though the smile still lingered. "Are you sure you don't need more water? I mean, there is plenty more where that came from." The taunt had barely left her lips when she felt him retaliate hotly and she hissed a bit, her eyes narrowing at his feisty challenge.
"Okay, kiddo, you are so asking for it." she said as she rubbed the still warm spot, the corner of quirked upwards and a fire burning in her eyes. Allydia looked right at him as she focused her energy a few meters behind, the raw bubbling power transforming into a small wave of blue water that would reach his lower back. Without any indication of her plans she mentally gave the liquid a push and sent it directly towards them.
@Allydia @Allydia His silver eyes sparkled in relief as he watched the water form in his sisters hand. He had completely forgotten that she could just simply take everything in midair. He had always thought what it would be like to control such power such as water. Besides, if he were ever to come back out here on a whim, he wouldn't have to worry about actually searching for a stable water source to drink from.
"You're a savior Ally-" He praised, just about to hold out his hands. The next thing he knew, he felt cold water hit his face. Aoi kept his eyes closed for a few moments, a soft sigh escaping through his nose. Honestly? He should expected such an action from Allydia at this point in time. "I..." He sighed again while sliding his hand down his face to rid some of the water. "...should of expected that." Looking over at Allydia, he started at the little mischievous smile that was on her face. Who would of even thought this was the Headmistress of the pride of the Aural province?
"Very funny Allydia." Aoi said with a small chuckle, his hands now in his hair as he tied it back into a little pony tail. "Well at least it was refreshing." He couldn't help but to laugh softly laugh at his own little joke. "Now I don't need any water until we get back~" The male mocked, making a little face at Allydia for her little action a few moments ago. Stifling a snicker, Aoi gently closed his hand in a fist. "I can't believe you did that." He said as he reached to gently hit his sister in the arm, his fist clenching tighter in mid motion, his skin heating up a few degrees before he even touched her.
Hearing the small singe, Aoi moved away slightly while flashing an innocent toothy smile. "Whoops~ Couldn't control myself there. I wonder what happened~" His sarcasm was clear as day.
@Aoi The unkempt wild of the mountainside called to her and for the first time in what felt like ages Allydia began to feel some of the burdens of her office being lifted. Her brother was right, she basically lived in her tiny room at the castle and until recently she had been buried under paperwork. What she really needed was the break away from it that he had suggested. Sometimes it surprised her how much Aoi seemed to be in tune with what she was feeling, especially given that she so very rarely gave anything away.
"Relief, yes, but dread because I know I have to go back." she answered honestly and yet layered her statement with her oddly dark humor. Even a wry and almost sarcastic smile tugged at her lips as she glanced to him from the side. A playful glimmer held deep in her eyes as she considered his comments, debating fighting them even though she mostly knew what he said was true. In the end, she decided some teasing was the correct course. "It's not my office or position that makes me angry though. I just feel that way every time I see you."
In a childish moment she stuck her tongue out at him and laughed. "Fine. We can get food but I would prefer you cooked. If we go into town then I have to put on that headmistress act and then you will see nothing but a mask." the blonde replied truthfully. Any time she was in the public eye she was expected to be the Headmistress of Aurai Academy but they both just wanted her to be Allydia. If nearly anyone else at the school had seen her, the real her behaving in such a way then she would have to work that much harder to keep them focused. Authority always worked better with a symbol as opposed to reality.
"There is no way you are seriously lost, right?" she asked, wondering if she should be amused at his joke or genuinely worried. The woman paused and looked from Aoi, to the sky, and then back again. "Please tell me you are joking. I mean, I am new to this part of the country and I know exactly where we are and if you were looking for the river we went in the almost complete opposite direction."
Whether he was lost or not became moot as she caught his sarcastic tone and she narrowed her eyes at him. If he wanted some water then he was surely going to get it. Allydia opened her palm before him in a most non-threatening manner and smiled calmly. Reaching out with her power she found everything she was looking for in the air around them and pulled it into a medium-sized, swirling blue orb hovering just centimeters above her palm. Without warning she launched it with surprising speed directly towards his face and waited for his response.
@Allydia "Isn't it relieving to just.. you know, leave the office for awhile?" The boy asked, hoping on different rocks here and there as they headed to no intended destination. "You're always there Allydia." He couldn't help but to sigh. "You always look so stressed and sometimes angry," A sweet smile had grown on the males face, his eyes curving into little crescents, "so I'm glad that I could take you away even if it's just for a few moments." He nodded. "I just don't like seeing sister not look happy." Truth be told, the young Lieutenant hated seeing Allydia not happy. Especially when he was on duty. On duty, he cannot really do much or he would be speaking out of turn. Now? He could finally free her from the dungeon that was of her office and finally lace a contagious smile on that face.
"Oh! And if we have time?" Aoi started, looking over at the blonde haired female, "I want to go out to eat as well. I mean- If we have time to go somewhere but if not~ I can always cook for you~ Besides, I know how much you like my cooking so either idea isn't so bad, right?" He chuckled. It was strange seeing this side of Aoi to most people. He isn't talkative, shy around some people off duty, and he never really shows this much "affection" to many. On duty, he's this glaring (not on purpose), blank canvas. Yet, he will never talk down on his position. He will forever cherish his badges and emblems as if they were his last red line of life. If anything really, this place has saved his life. Well, more like Allydia saved his life. This woman beside him had helped him grow into what he was today. Moments where he wanted to continuously quit, she had always brought him back up with thicker skin. She was the sister figure that he wanted back.
Looking a little upwards, Aoi had noticed that there was a lot more open terrain than before. Huh? Just a few moments before, they were nearly fighting and dodging against trees. Aoi stifled a laugh. "Ally?" He questioned. "I think we... might be lost?" Well, lost was an understatement at this point, but he was more than sure they could find their way back. "Hopefully their won't be any 'wild animals' running about around here." His voice was laced with heavy sarcasm. "Actually- Speaking of which- Isn't there a river here somewhere? It's a little hot and I would just die for some type of fresh water source." Aoi's silver eyes looked over to Allydia. "Unless... Miss 'all know power' wants to cleanse some water out of the tree or ground for the both of us~" He was joking really.
Nari made her way to the mountainside, making sure to watch her step so she wouldn't slip on any loose rocks. She often ventured outside the castle walls so she could peacefully practice her wind summoning skill, unable to do anything else from the lack of emblems. She was never particularly good at, well, anything. She was always so clumsy that whenever she tried to do something, it usually failed. However, that never stopped her from trying to gain more experience.
She sat down on the edge of the cliff and looked out to the scenery before her, the sun shining in her eyes. She took a deep breath and focused on what she wanted to do, slowly churning the air around her to make a small gust of wind. She was glad she couldn't necessarily ruin anything here, seeing as though there wasn't anything around her to cause destruction. She continued to focus on what she was doing, trying to make the wind around her bigger and stronger. She continued to do this until she was unable to do anymore, slowly coming to a stop and setting her hands back down on her lap. She frowned, wishing she could at least do something more impressive.
She blew her bangs out of her face, clapping her hands together. "Let's try this again."
She stood up this time, hoping for a better wind summoning this time. However, as she started to spin the air around her, she picked up a large rock on accident and flung it towards herself, causing her spin to the side in order to dodge it, slipping on a rock and falling to the ground. She groaned, rubbing her bare knee that was scraped up a little, and kicking her other leg in frustration from her failure.
