Mrs White considered this for a moment wanting to help these younger boys work out what they could. She let out a deep breath before offering a weak smile looking at those around her. "Nothing suspicious that I know from my area... But I can tell you the Trophy room hasnt only been 'off limits' its been locked. No one has been in there since I myself locked it by Mr. Boddys request"
"I see. Let's forget about that topic. My apologies." Dennis shyly mumbled, realizing that the current topic they ventured in was too personal for him to nitpick. The young Historian made sure to take the information, throw it in the pool and let it drown. "Last question from me. Please answer it well for my companions." He asked sincerely.
Dennis had to leave and make a quick visit to the doctor before coming back. His companions would do absolutely great even without him, so he wasn't concerned. But he wanted to help them as much as possible. The whole time, he was asking vague questions: "Does", "Do you think", "Have you". It was an attempt to clear out the inconsistencies but instead, it gave Dennis a huge headache. And so, his last question was technically a question. But more than that, it was a request. "Mrs. White, could you please give us anything you find suspicious or 'out of place' in areas you were stationed before and during the event?" Dennis asked.
Mrs White raised her eyebrow once again listening to his words before gasping slightly her age certainly showing as she realised just what this young man was talking about. Two females together, it was not something she ever would have considered in her own mind and she certainly couldnt say anything about Nahyun's preferences. She cleared slightly and shook her head. "No... No I dont believe she does... but... It is not a topic I have discussed with... anyone. From what I saw they loved one another dearly. You would have to ask Miss Nahyun herself if it was a different case"
"Oh no. Please don't misunderstand." Dennis waved is hands in panic. It wasn't the first time he has done that. One time, the sales lady kicked him out of the mall when he warned his step-sister that lipstick usually had fish scales in it. Something he read from a "Did You Know?" column of the newspaper. "I don't want to think Nahyun poisoned her husband. I just want to know if there is a possibility that..." Dennis voice trailed off. He looked at Mrs. White, swallowing in fear that she'll beat him up.
Nonetheless, he continued. "...that Nahyun has a female lover. Why female? Because usually women are very clean with murder." He hummed before eyeing Mrs. White, then Dennis innocently raised his arms in surrender.
Mrs White kept her attention on Dennis as he spoke arching a well maintained eyebrow quizzically as he seemed to give her a lecture of the history of female murderers. She may have been old but she was far from stupid, she knew what he was getting at and to even considering the idea what Miss Nahyun had killed off her own fiance... the idea sent a chill down her spine and anger into her heart. Of course she had questioned whether the young girl was right for her boss, as would anyone her age looking after such a young couple for such a long period of time as she herself had but she had grown to love and cherish the young lady and truly believed her to be pure of heart and more then a little in love with the newly deceased male.
But once again she understood, she knew that in most cases of murder it was a person closest to the victim, someone that had access to him, that people wouldnt question being near him at any point of time. She let out a deep breath keeping all her aggressive retorts inside as she looked on the young man before her. "No, I do not think Miss Nahyun poisoned Mr Boddy" She started fighting an old urge to cross her arms. "To me, she seemed very much in love with her husband, like all couples they had disagreements but they were always solved. I understand you accusations but I do not like it. I would stand in court and swear Miss Nahyun was innocent. Take that as you wish and choose to believe me or not. I believe they were both very happy."
Retracting to the time Mrs. White said that she had never seen Mr. Boddy so happy; Dennis wondered if she noticed anything about Nahyun. Dennis has a theory—however, it was an absurd theory.
"Poison is a stereotypical murder weapon of women, until recent statistics show that guns are also becoming popular. However in ancient history, poison is very popular. I suspect that it's because some plants used as cosmetic were deemed poisonous; hence, accessible for women. Plants such as Atropa Belladona, which Agrippina used to poison Emperor Claudius. " He mumbled, as if giving a college lecture. Dennis wanted to rule out Nahyun because she was the obvious suspect. "Mrs. White. You claimed that there were others who are interested in Nahyun, but did not specify if these people are male..."
Dennis paused, "...or female. However, this isn't my question..."
"Did she (Nahyun) appear consistently joyous in the duration of their dating, from start until the engagement?"
"Well most of the guests have been here longer then that" She replied almost instantly offering a soft smile glancing to Gunmin. "Only a few have been here a short time" She added offering the young man a soft smile before looking back at Dennis. "people come and people go, I find it hard to keep track, I just do my job"
Dennis listened to his companions when they took the lead. Mr. Boddy did act strangely in an event that should give him all the joy in the world. Also, where did the bruise come from? If he had it before the party, Nahyun should have noticed it since she was next to him most of the time.
"Mrs. White." Dennis carefully asked, "By any chance, have you seen any guests who came to the mansion earlier than us? Earlier—I mean, around 24 hours before the party?"
Mrs white looked at the boy who had been quiet for a moment before shaking her head slightly offering the young boy an apologetic smile. "I dont spend much time with everyone else, I couldnt really tell you, other than Mr. Boddy's obvious deviations from normal behaviour" She replied remembering how lost he had seemed just moments before he died. She shook her head slightly turning her attention to the other male once again shaking her head. "not that I saw. I wasnt permitted into the kitchen at the time though, no one has been allowed in there since late last night, we were all given instructions on what to prepare and we instructed not to venture into area's that were not our own. I'm afraid the kitchen was not near my area."
Younghyun hummed and nodded as he processed the information given. He frowned, deep in thought of what he should ask Mrs White. After careful thought, he opened his mouth and asked, "Was there anyone suspicious near Mr Boddy's food and drink or kitchen?" Perhaps someone had poisoned his food or drink?
Gunmin eyed the other male for a moment wondering just where his mind was going to give these questions, About as far as Gunmin had got was asking who did it but he knew that wasnt going to get them anywhere. He closed his eyes for a moment trying hard to get some thoughts into order before looking at his team once again. "She said there was a bruise on his head right... Someone smacked him in the head with something at some point right, and he was a little weird at the party... I dont know anyone here but, was anyone acting weird..."
"How long?" Mrs white once again questioned tilting her head a little looking into the waters thinking over the question carefully trying to remember dates and times even though it should have been something she was very aware of. "I think its been 6 months now" She begun looking back towards the young man offering a smile. "It was a beautiful time, I'd never seen Mr. Boddy as happy, until the engagement of course"
"Unwanted attention." Dennis turned to Mrs. White. He wasn't sure why it intrigued him, but he wonders if the engagement party is just for show. Mr. Boddy is rich and obviously powerful. Ladies would find it hard to say "no" if a man of his status would propose to them. Dennis didn't want to venture in such a complicated territory—which may confuse him more than serve as an aid for his companions—but it was reminiscent of something that commonly takes place in every past. Dennis wondered if this "unwanted attention" was from Mr. Boddy himself.
"I apologize for the rude question, but—" Dennis paused, deciding to change his question into something more helpful. "How long have they been dating before Mr. Boddy asked Nahyun to marry him?"
Mrs white watched the other male pacing back and forth along the edge of the pool listening carefully to his words before nodding a little. "Yes... It was well known that both of the lovely couple had others who were interested in them" She replied nodding a head a little before looking at the others once again. "Miss Nahyun is a very beautiful girl, its only natural that she would receive unwanted attention"
"Mrs. White..." Dennis paused, not wanting to sound nosy. He turned to his companions. A young man was recording them, so they could replay their information later. While another man asked an extremely valuable question about the last person Mr. Boddy has been with. Dennis scratched his chin.
"Mrs. White. You worked for Mr. Boddy right? Which means, you know him better than most of us." He strolled on the edge of the pool, still in deep thought. "Does Mr. Boddy have any competition for Nahyun's hand?"
Mrs White turned her attention to the third male around him and offered him a soft smile recognising his face almost instantly. "Ah... He was with Miss Nahyun of course" She replied as if this itself was obvious. "I didnt see him in the morning but I know he was speaking with staff about how the event was supposed to go"
Gunmin had to admit this was cooler then watching anyone on the TV. Sure it was sad someone was dead, but he was living a drama right now, and that was cool. Still trying to document everything he kept his phone in his hand recording the floor but catching the voices. If they missing something they would be able to listen to it all again. With the way the other man was talking he assume he had a lot more skill in questioning people then he himself did so for now he was reserved to taking mental notes of what he needed to do
Younghyun quickly went after the two males, worried for their safety. He stopped right in front of Mrs White and gently patted Mrs White to comfort her while giving her a small smile. He listened as one of his teammates ask his question. He hummed thoughtfully. Since the other asked about the cause of death, perhaps he should ask about who could be the murderer.
"So Mrs White, who was the last person that Mr Boddy was with? I didn't get to see who he was as I was busy with serving the guests," he asked.
Mrs White offered a weak smile at the others comfort finding it sweet and very short, but she supposed that made some sense given the events. She'd seen her fair share of dramas on the television, she understood the haste in which these things needed to be dealt with and so she collected herself as much as she could carefully thinking over the events that had transpired earlier. "Ate something?" She repeated thinking over it before shaking her head slightly. "Nothing out of the ordinary... A normal lunch earlier in the day, but they had intended to eat with the rest of the party so I dont recall him eating much"
Dennis hastily walked towards Mrs. White, listing all the questions he had in mind. But first, not without offering a bit of comfort. "I hope you're doing well." He said briefly, before moving on to the interview.
Clearly there was no overt assault over Mr. Boddy, so Dennis thought of the most subtle way a man could kill someone: Poison. In history, there are all kinds of poison. Some are slow-acting like Dimethylmercury, while others can assure instant death like Cyanide. There are two non-poisonous substances (by nature) that shouldn't go together such as antidepressants and alcohol.
"Did Mr. Boddy eat anything before the event?" He asked.
Mrs White sat up slightly from her semi reclined position still trying to understand the events that had happened not too long earlier and worrying how the poor Fiance was handling the news of the passing of her future husband. "Ah, yes... over here young man" She called out listening to the echoes around the room as she waved at the new comers from across the glistening water.
@Mrs. White Dennis quickly heads for the pool, despite the "no running" signs posted in every corner. The clue said something about refracted light, and playing or working out. And the first thing he thought is a swimming pool. Dennis started calling her out. "Mrs. White! The lovely Mrs. White! Are you here?"
@Kim Taehyung Saebom shook his head slightly watching the other before carefully removing his clothes folding them neatly beside the other boys clothing. He walked slowly to the edge and gradually lowered himself into the chilled water making sure his head stayed above the top of the water letting out a soft smile. "It would appear I lost"
@Oh Saebom Taehyung ventured out to the pool area, it was his first time out here and of course it was going to be for a silly dare. He shivered a little in the cool air but quickly pulled his clothes off, folding them neatly on a pool chair nearby. he glanced over at Saebom who has ended up on his dare with him and threw him a cheeky grin. "Last one in is a rotten egg," He teased before running to the edge and jumping in.
