@jaehyun j。 real quick, nana flashed a bright light into the patient's eyes, checking his pupils for any irregularities as he mumbled a question. honestly speaking, she wasn't listening to him, engaged in her duties as a doctor, but like, half hearing him, she assumed he was asking what happened. she took note of his vitals on his chart before answering him because his health came before he did and also, she had to refer back to his chart to tell him exactly what happened. a strip of black hair fell from her loosely wound bun as she flipped through his chart, getting the full image of what happened, what's happening, and what is likely to happen. without looking back at him, her eyes still on his chart, she began to answer him, "according to your chart, you almost died back there." and like that she closed his chart and put it back on the side of his bed - okno, she continued to explain what happened as concisely as she could, "your arms seem to have second-degree burns on them and it seemed like the explosion knocked you back on your head pretty hard. i wouldn't blame you if you don't remember what happened." she put her hands in her pocket as she flashed the patient a kind smile. "you're lucky there was somebody nearby to get you safety," she commented, referring to the vampire that had rushed him to the hospital haha ; D, "we still don't know what the cause of the explosion was, but maybe once you're feeling a little better that you could authorities investigate."

@nana k。 “Are you awake now?”

For all Jaehyun knew, he could be fast asleep because none of this felt real. What happened? How? When? It’s an unsightly sensation, being so disoriented and jostled from the normal arch of his life into such sudden circumstances.

His eyes rise from where cold fingers press to his bandages. Belatedly, his sluggish mind recognizes that those are not his own fingers, and his gaze traces up the short distance to a face. A porcelain, doll like face. A healthy looking face, so unlike what he probably looked like. Weak and heavy, his arms come to rest against the blanket, and Jaehyun resigns to the fact that he’s here: what’s happened has happened... But what /did/ happen?

Obediently, he stills, and braces for the light, but in exchange for a rasped question. “Doctor... what happened to me?”

@jaehyun j。 her white coat pressed against the blue clipboard that matched the scrubs nana had worn beneath her coat, her fair slender fingers sifted through the patient's files page by page. her dark brown eyes glossed over the information quickly before hearing his vitals change, hearing his voice for the first time as he woke up. immediately, nana put aside her clipboard and turned her attention towards the patient. "hi there," she greeted with a sweet, welcoming tone as if she were greeting a puppy that had just woken up, "are you awake now?" she assessed his state of mind - it didn't seem like he knew at all what had happened and it was best to keep him as calm as possible before examining him any further. with a gentle, cold touch, she rested her hand on his bandages. "you shouldn't move too much," she ordered with her lips upturned into a smile, her hand reaching into her coat pocket to pull out a flashlight. "now, i'm going to shine this light into your eyes real quick, okay? don't be startled."

@nana k。 he wakes up to this persistant beeping that was present even in his dream-- or maybe, it was present in real life, he wasn't too sure. blinking away the heaviness in his eyelids, jaehyun draws in a hiss at how bright the room was. the smell of the room filled his nose sharply: between the room being so cold and the cleaning agents used to sterilize it, it hurt. jaehyun looks down to see the offending pattern of a light blue hospital gown peeking out from under the blanket.
"What..." he starts, voice catching in his throat and hoarse like he hasn't spoken in days. It begs the question, how long has he been here for? He reaches up and bandaged fingers peel away a corner of the blanket to reveal more wires, more drips, more, more, more--he stares. "What the ..."
