“Unbelievable,” he scoffs incredulously as a vampire (of all beings) sits beside him in a church (of all places) talking about finding God (of all things), “It’s long since been proven that your kind won’t find God for as long as you roam.”

It felt provoked, having her there beside him, like he was meant to serve as some kind of entertainment. He was a man unable to get even one second of peace and quiet without some fiend reminding him that if they weren’t alive: he would still have his sister.

@jaehyun j。 This experience would be laughable to the young woman if she didn't keep an immaculate composure, the only tell of an attitude being the quick perk of the side of her lips in a simper. A vampire's aversion to all things holy made her want to peel her skin in this sanctimonious church, yet she remained steadfast in conversation so as to fulfill her own wishes in the church, and perhaps have a little fun with a human along the way. This young woman isn't used to being quiet, even in a church.

"Pardon, I really enjoy the view of this one." With a raised finger she countered, an eyebrow raised as honey-tinged laughter was barely withheld. Then as he went on, her palms lifted as she proclaimed in her defense, "Hey now, I never asked you to indulge. I just told you I was here to find God; now I don't see why you'd have similar intentions with an attitude like that. And heavens, in a church?" The vampire's tongue burned in blasphemy of her own blood and breed, but she was ironclad.

@lily rose d。 He exhales a sigh, knowing exactly how it works. The undead always do this, sticking their noses in the next miserable fellow they find. Once upon a time, he feared vampires and becoming their next meal, until he found that it was relatively uncommon to be snatched like his sister: that’s what made her case so unsual. He finishes one more verse silently, his lips just barely twitching as he finds calm in prayer.

“So many empty pews, and yet you chose mine. A space next to me,” Jaehyun thinks aloud, drawing the silver chain up and around his neck. He tucks the cross under his shirt, where it rests against his beating heart, and finally—/finally/—he spares the vampire a sidelong glance. “I’m here to remember someone who believed in God. But that’s none of your business. What is it, leech?”

@jaehyun j。 Not expecting the figure besides herself to speak, the young woman's brows shoot up in curiosity as she turns her head to catch his gaze behind her shades, distant and dismissive. "I'm not in the choir. I don't even go to this church." Finally uncrossing her legs she smooths her palms down her clothed thighs, fingertips tapping along her kneecaps as a rather carefree laugh bubbled quietly from her lips. "I came here to talk to God. Isn't that why you're here?"

The mellifluous lilt in her voice went sharper as his dismissiveness was clear, yet her smile still radiated warmth as she spared him a glance, wondering in silence why the man was so wound up in a church.

@lily rose d。 A prickle of annoyance bites at Jaehyun’s neck as his ears perk up to the familiar hymn. But just the sound of it was telling: it was cold in tone and ominous. Jaehyun had to rub shoulders with enough vampires at the police station, but they were civil—so human he couldn’t tell from the first glance.

And this female? He hasn’t even looked at her, but he smells the stench of the undead hanging from every breath she takes. “The chorus meets on Wednesday nights,” he regards her brashly, again, without sparing a glance, “or they perform at the front of the chapel. Not here.” Was there a kinder way to say off?

@jaehyun j。 Despite the inherent feeling of her pale skin crawling, probably of tainting religious grounds with a demonic presence, Lily's finely-manicured fingers grazed each ornately carved pew as children whooshed past her careless of their surroundings, casting a ripple into the long fur coat that adorned the young woman's lean body. She began to hum, tone dripped in honey as the youngsters mobbed by, ".....though like the wanderer, the sun gone down," Continuing to whistle ominously, the corner of her lips slip into a sly smile upon the next line, "....daaarkness be over me, my rest a stoooone...." A thin, lithe fingertip rose to pinch the center of her shades, adjusting them onto her lifted, pixie-like nose while she sunk into the nearest pew, besides a slouched fellow dressed in black. The woman's unusually long legs lithely crossed as an attentive palm perched on her knee, fingers tapping in rhythm to that hymn sung under the girl's breath, falling in breathy clouds that leave her ruby red lips with a cherubic lilt. "...yet in my dreams I’d be nearer, my God to Theeee."

For such a big community and such a grand hall, its central gathering place was empty. On a tuesday afternoon, it makes sense. It’s an hour when the working folk have office breaks and lunches with colleagues and when children enjoy recess and the fleeting pure happiness they know and love at this age. It’s the hour where house wives come to the front few pews, make small talk outside in the courtyard, stroll with small baby carriages and the sleeping bundles that are nestled within. Jaehyun sits like a black cloud in the back, his silver cross peeled from it’s place around his neck and turned over and over and over in between his fingers. He’s sitting with his hands resting on the ridge of the pews in front of him, and he is transfixed in thought, allowing himself to just /be/ on this day.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua had no idea how she was supposed to call Sooyoung but she accepted the calling card anyway. She watched as the female disappeared into thin air. She took a look at the picture that was left behind. A bitter smile crept on her face and she let the tears fall from her eyes.

@shuhua y。 She hums and gets a calling card from her bag and give it to the other girl and smiles, "If you need anything just call me." Sooyoung hums and looks at her watch. "I got to go, I have an appointment with some people." Then she stood up from the bench and starts walking until she disappeared into thin air, leaving a picture of her and the girl's grandmother on the bench.

@sooyoung p。 Having no energy to argue, Shuhua simply remained silent as a sign that she accepted the arguement. She had no time to argue when she should use all her time to think about what she should be doing next. She should probably go back to the woods where she hid away from the world with her grandmother but with het grandma dead, she found no reason to hide any longer. She turned her focus to the other vampire, wondering if she would leave already.

@shuhua y。 Sooyoung sighed and looks at their surroundings, "Not all humans are the same... sometimes they are said to be cursed because of their nature, others were good and they know what they did. Humans are vulnerable, unlike us. We can't blame them though because our kind also did something horrible to them too." She told Shuhua. "I may not understand how you feel but I may know someday." Then she pats her head gently.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua frowned, in her heart, she knew she was a cursed creature. But in her eyes, humans were not any better. They ruined her life and ruined her mother. "Humans, they aren't any better, are they? They behave like cursed creatures. If not, they're cursed more than we are," she said, tone bitter out of spite.

@shuhua y。 She blinks at the girl's statement then chuckles, "It is a place to repent and pray for their sins." Sooyoung told her and hums. "It was my clan's tradition, we have to know that we are not beyond humans but cursed creatures and we had to repent. I pay respect and pray because I had to." She explained and smiles.

@sooyoung p。 Seeing there really was no harm in talking to the girl, Sooyoung, Shuhua finally opened to reply. The information might be used against her but she thought she did not care anymore. "An old woman told me. A human with an evil heart told me to repent. I've never been in that place nor am I planning to ever go back there. Why are you, a vampire, even there? What were you doing?"

@shuhua y。 "Shuhua hm..." Then she looks at her watch, seeing that it is not time for her to walk off and leave the place since she got fond of knowing the girl. Sooyoung then hums before looking back at her, "So, is it your first time to be in that place? I mean, most of the vampires never even want to go in there." She told her but she felt unworthy for the girl who was wary of her.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua paused for a moment, not knowing if she should reply or not. She did not actually want to befriend someone who might be dangerous. She thought for a little while before heaving another sigh. "Shuhua," she whispered. "Yeh Shuhua," she repeated, saying her full name. She did not think it would matter so much. Whether her name was known or not, she was still the same vulnerable her.

@shuhua y。 Sooyoung couldn't help but to curve her corner lips a little, seeing the other one hastily took the blood pack and feed on it before humming and eventually turn to look at her again. "My name is Sooyoung... Park Sooyoung if you want my full name, as if you care." She introduced herself and puts her one leg over the other. "So... may I know your name?" she asked the girl.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua looked at the blood pack then at the stranger then at the blood pack again. It was making her hungry but she did not want to ask for a favor from a stranger. But then, she felt extremely weak and she was starting to get dizzy because of her drained energy. She heaved an inward sigh. She did not care anymore. She could die for all she care. Thsi stranger might be kind or she might be not, Shuhua had no energy to care. Giving the stranger a one last skeptical look, she hastily grabbed the blood pack and started to feed on it.

@shuhua y。 "I'm not helping them... I'm helping you, actually." She quickly told her and gets a blood pack from her hand bag and give her to the girl, Sooyoung looked at her and sighed. "Feed yourself first, then I'll tell you who I am." She told her and looks around, checking if people were walking around but thankfully they weren't. Only humans could walk within the church's parameter, vampires like them would feel nauseous and drained by its presence.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua was led outside the Church. She was feeling a bit better in comparison to how she felt inside the Church but definitely not "good". It was uncomfortable and she was still wary of Sooyoung. "I won't pounce on humans," she said, finding it necessary to defend herself from the other's accusation. "I don't even like them," she added. "Anyway, who are you? Why are you helping me or them?" She asked, confusion enveloped her voice.

@shuhua y。 She then tilts her head again at her, "I don't need anything from you... 'You' need to get out of here, plus... it'll get you more hungry and might pounce a human in here." Sooyoung told her. "You don't want to make a scene, do you?" Then she grins a bit, "Come on." She stood up and gently takes her arm then makes their way out of the church. Sooyoung doesn't care if the other would refuse, she just don't like a fellow vampire entering a church because they might throw themselves at the humans in any minute once they couldn't hold the thirst.

@sooyoung p。 Trusting someone else was really a bad choice. She trusted someone that was why she was in this situation. Shuhua regretted it. She hated humans. But she hated vampires too that's why when the unknown vampire approached her, Shuhua gathered the courage to sneer at her. Shuhua did not know how she knew the stranger was a vampire but she could just tell and albeit a vampire herself, she was not one to trust other vampires. "What do you need?" She asked, her breathing heavy and uneven.

@shuhua y。 In the middle of her praying, she slowly opened her eyes and sees the other vampire who may seemed to be slowly weakened by this holy place. She felt pity on her and went over to her side and pretends to pray but then she whispered on her in a very low voice, "First time?" She then looks at her and hums. "I also experienced that kind of feeling when I was a kid..." then gazed around the surrounding, "If you can't handle much longer, I can help you get out of here." she offered as the other was about to go frenzy any minute now.

@sooyoung p。 Shuhua was a clueless one. In fact, she did not know how she ended up in a Church or whatever you call it. But she is indeed inside of one because an elderly she came across with told her it's a place to cleanse her soul and ask for guidance. She was wary of the elderly but she reminded her of her grandma so she did follow. However, upon ariving at the place, Shuhua felt something weird, as if her energy and strength are being away from her. She tried to maintain her composure, sitting on one of the Church's seats with her breathing heavy and uneven.

@shuhua y。 It is a day for Sooyoung to pay respect and also to show that bloodsucking demons like her can still respect the holy place without her affected by its presence as she is used to be in churches since she was a kid. But still, crucifix could still burn her skin and holy water, to avoid that, she doesn't do anything evil inside the church. However, she knew the some people are evil even though they could come to church everyday. She was sitting on one of the chairs and praying, for her wealth and survival.
