@★ jungkook j。 Come with him? Don't have to ask twice -- Yugyeom just tosses the comforter into his backseat, and slams the door shut, making sure his keys are on him, and his truck is locked tight. All of it's good, and when he turns back to Jungkook, the other is already walking away. It feels like a scene in a movie, when he reaches out with his pinky. It's like a promise, being held out to Yugyeom with a simper, and a twinkle in his eyes. He steps closer to him, quicker, now, and takes his pinky with his. He gives him his own promise. Of what? He isn't quite sure yet. Maybe to stay with him? To be by his side? Be his friend, and be there for him? To give him nights like this, where he can forget the world, and conspire with Yugyeom late into the night.

He can't help but notice how his heart seems to skyrocket, not in the tempo, but in the ferocity it beats. How heavy it is in his ears. How it is quick to thump, and thump, and drown out all the thoughts in his head. As if telling him: 'who needs thoughts when the answer is right here?'. And Jungkook is right here. Jungkook, popping up out of no where under the guise of a jock, with a sweet smile, and a tender expression, a brilliant brain that understands him, and a witty tongue that has its way of sending Yugyeom into a fit of laughter. Jungkook is out of this world, but not alien. He's serious when he says he's a star, whether it be a baseball star, or a shooting star. A wish, just for Yugyeom, one that he'll follow across the sky until they both blink out.

He's messing with his head, and he can't stop himself from following. Even now, following. Letting the parking lot drift by as they go further, and further out, leaving his trust in his hands, and letting it grow into something beautiful. Not quite blossoming yet, but almost there. A little bud. , it makes him softer than he's ever been. He feels like every sickly romance novel he's ever read, except it isn't love at first sight, and it's been Yugyeom giving little looks to Jungkook throughout the school year. If it wasn't for that perfect self of his, he probably wouldn't have. How easy it seemed to be for everyone to come near him, and talk to him, and he realized - he's just as right as he thought he was in the beginning. He's easy to talk to, easy to adore, easy to love, and his hand is so soft, and his pinky is so easy to hold.

He's easy to promise, and as they stop by a car, he can't even pull his gaze away from Jungkook, trapped in the silence that has fallen upon them. He wants to kiss him, but he holds back. He lets his eyes wander, and finally land on the beauty that he assumes is Jungkook's little possession. But even as he looks at the car, and he says "Beautiful," so clearly, he isn't talking about the car.

Jungkook's reflection is in the hood.

@★ yugyeom k。 The softened 'c'mon, move,' earned a light hum from Jungkook, taking a step back from the truck. His tongue peaks in between his lips, the tips of his fingers sinking into his back pocket. He's about to respond when he feels the tips of Yugyeom's fingertips nudging upon his forehead. In this moment, all the time in the world stops. Everything's in slow motion - especially as his gaze shifts from the ground to the other. He swears he could see each shift of the other's features as his smile grows, his own fingers curling around the hem of his shirts. It felt like... how they showed in movies. Like the world stopped spinning, like it was just them.... in their rocket. Suddenly, things weren't as ty anymore.

"I --" He begins, at a loss for words. His mind was all jumbled, and he was trying to piece it back together, and instead -- his lips can only curl upwards into a sheepish smile, one hand raising to rub at the nape of his neck. His gaze finally slips away from the others with an embarrassed chuckle, the male soon clearing his throat. He felt young, free. It was new, something he'd forgot. The stars weren't only in the sky, no, they were in his eyes when he looked to Yugyeom -- as he started to feel as if he belonged.

"Come with me, I want to show you something." His teeth sink into his lower lip gently whilst grinning, leaning down to grab the strap of his backpack before straightening up again. He begins stepping backwards while eyeing the other male, head cocking to the side in a way to invite him. Suddenly, the parking lot felt like it would never-end, and it was a field of.. bliss. Happiness. Jungkook, for the first time, was happy. There were no other emotions, just.. happiness, warmth. He was now stepping towards the direction of his car -- there were a few more cars in the parking lot still, hiding his own. Where they were going? It was a surprise, his little.. it was his little secret. His getaway.

"Coming?" He questions quietly, deciding to man up a bit and extend his arm out. Though, it's just his pinky that's extended..... don't ask why. He takes his time to observe Yugyeom right now... there was nothing like that smile. His damn,, smile. There was nothing like it, it was sort of subtle.. perfect and real. Real. He was real, and most importantly, he made Jungkook feel real. Like he actually mattered in this little.. bubble of reality of their's.

And he appreciated that.
★ yugyeom k。[h] 6 years ago
@★ jungkook j。 No. He shouldn't feel so elated to hear this, to hear that he doesn't want to go home, that he -- . He should. It isn't a school night, but he probably has plans the next day. His stomach curls at the sudden drop of mood. He's got a reason-- Yugyeom bites the inside of his cheek, and stands in the back of his truck, looking at the boy with the sweet smile, and the prettiest way with words, or maybe it's just how he sounds. Yeah. It's that. Yugyeom toes at his tailgate from the inside, and bends down to be closer to Jungkook's height.

"Nah, not really. No one's waiting up for me there." He grins, before poking at Jungkook's forehead. A soft 'c'mon, move,' comes from him as he straightens, and straddles the tailgate, placed on the bumper, and one foot still in the bed. He grabs the blanket, and with a simple motion, hops off, and lands beside Jungkook, comforter still snagged on the side of the tailgate. Oh well.

"So, you wanna go do something then? I'd say let's go to the diner, but if I pop up there, the old lady's gonna kill me, and Marty behind the counter wont make me breakfast until 3 am. Something about the eggs being cooked too early." He folds the blanket over his arm, and leans back against the bumper, his fitting nicely along the chrome. He looks to Jungkook, and something compels him -- something kind of stupid. He reaches out, and brushes a bit of hair out of his eyes, sweeping the locks off of his forehead.

"There." He doesn't elaborate *why* there. Why he's done it. Just that Jungkook looks so sweet with his hair pushed off to the side, and he likes how his brows furrow when he's confused. Yugyeom smiles, a sweet, boyish little smile that shines through his chapped lips, and little laugh. He feels .. Actually like a teenager, instead of some angsty brat that should be in his twenties.

Jungkook makes him feel so normal. "Whatever you wanna do, I'm down."
★ jungkook j。 [A] 6 years ago
@★ yugyeom k。 For the first time, Jungkook is bathing within his time with Yugyeom - not once thinking about what time it might be. He's still pointing out the constellations, not even thinking about how many hours have passed. Surely, it was more than three, maybe even four. That's what he seems to like so much about Yugyeom -- he was timeless, to him. The right side of his chin rested amongst the top of his head, bravely shifting to move one arm around his shoulders. But he wasn't uncomfortable, if anything, he was /more/ than comfortable. He wondered if he could hear his heart roughly slamming upon his ribcage over and over again, but he wasn't worried.

He liked this. He liked Yugyeom. Being around him was like... stepping into a sauna. He makes you feel warm, his embrace is soft...... and he smells good, homey.. warm. Not once was hit attention anywhere else. Jungkook felt like this time was sacred, and if he could freeze it - perhaps he would. But again, it was just a fantasy. Everything had to come to an end sometime. He wasn't even tired, full of energy and excited. It was cooler outside, but inwardly, he was warm. Warmth plummeted through his veins, mainly because this was the happiest he felt in a while. The happiest, the most accepted and the most comfortable.

"No," Jungkook responded softly, eyes peering open to look at Yugyeom once his warmth slipped away from him. "But I probably should, huh?" He didn't want to take up his time anymore in the case that he was tired and wanted to go home. He, himself, wanted to be anywhere else but home. He was stuck in this euphoria that he didn't want to be brought down -- and he knew how the situation would be if he were to go home. Everything would collapse, and he'd be miserable. Jungkook had gotten used to that, though. Tonight was just.. different. And for once, he didn't want anything to be ruined. Maybe he'd go to the drive-in, play a movie for the night... crash in his car. Anywhere away from home would be good.

Jungkook soon leans up, his hand nudging through his locks to nudge them back before nudging forward -- all until he's able to hop off the back of the truck. His chin perks upon the edge of the truck with a softened smile towards the other male. "Do you want to go home?"

Please, no. He doesn't want this to end.
★ yugyeom k。[h] 6 years ago
@★ jungkook j。 His eyes flicker this way and that as Jungkook points out everything he can to him, and he especially focuses on his favorite. Cassiopeia. Yugyeom tilts his head to the side to better see it, to see from Jungkook's point of view, eyeing the constellations from his angle. His head comes to rest on his shoulder, and his hands firmly press to his belly. "Mom's should be the queen's," Except his mom, in his eyes. But hey, what can you do. He follows the line to the bear - er, Ursa Major, as Jungkook put it. His soft 'woah' can be heard, rather astounded that ... That he knew all of this. There are so many stars, and it's hard to pick out the right patterns. Looking at it, like this, it's like reading another language.

But Jungkook is translating for him. Jungkook is helping him. Jungkook is helping him understand when he wouldn't be able to otherwise. Most things, he has to touch, to see, to feel, to actually learn about them. It's why math is so hard, when letters start adding up into number, and equations start rolling over to make his head hurt. He felt dumb, and very insecure. The math song that every kid learned when they were a kid? To learn their time's table's? Forget it, he never got past the 4's. That's what calculators are for.

Learning about stars can get you lost, and that's what happened to him. Resting with Jungkook, asking dumb, dumb questions about which star is which, what they mean, how they get a bear from a spoon looking structure. It went on until the moon rose higher in the sky, and it was surely past midnight, maybe even closer to one o'clock. The temperature had become bearable, bordering on the edge of a bit chilly, which was a blessing, in these nights. Yugyeom slowly pushes himself up onto his elbows, looking around, seeing that no one was around, not even the security guard, who should have snuck up on them by now, and shined the light on them.

"Do .. You want to go home?" Or stay here, or have him walk him to his car, or .. Anything.

He doesn't want this to end, but everything's already starting to taste bitter in his mouth at the thought.
★ jungkook j。 [A] 6 years ago
@★ yugyeom k。 A slightly amused look appears on Jungkook's face when Yugyeom mentions the Zodiac ones, and the bear. "That's a start though, not many people know a lot about constellations. It's just, like aliens, a topic that i'd spend a lot of time looking at." His computer was closely monitored when he was growing up, but he didn't complain. His mom was the reason on it, worried that if he looked at the wrong things, he'd turn out to be some kind of monster or bad kid out there. It was one of her worst fears, and he knew that. So he respected it. As long as she'd spend time with him, they'd always look at the stars - kind of like how him and Yugyeom were now - and with that in mind, he felt at peace.

He's biting into his lower lip again, attempting to hold back the grin wanting to etch its way onto his tiers as he invites him to show him the stars of the galaxy. And so he does. "Yeah? Okay," He rolls back on his back, shifting somewhat a little closer to the other male with both of his hands now resting on his stomach. He observes the sky with a light hum, wondering where he should even begin. Though he looks back when he hears the other's voice again, his words breaking out the same pure grin that appeared earlier, followed by a light chuckle. "Actually, yeah. It's one of my favorite parts. Anything with the sky and the stars. "My mom and I would always do this, kind of, before she passed away. I think that's why I have the biggest connection with it."

His knee sways side to side while he raises his hand to point above them, a little bit to the northeast. "My favorite constellation is that one, if you look right over there -- It kind of looks like the left side of a chair... or a slanted 'W'. That's the constellation of Cassiopiea, the Queen. It's said that the star in the middle is 40,000 times brighter than the sun. I kind of see my mom up there, she always shined really bright. But I really appreciate the dimmer stars, ones that make up the harp - or Ursa Major -- the bear." He feels a bit of pride speaking of his love of stars, which he continues. "And if you look north just a little bit more from Cassiopiea, there's the big dipper. And northwest of that is the little dipper. It's amazing how connected they can be - or how close they can be. It's just this whole.. phenomenon. It's amazing."

Jungkook is now in pure awe, eyes wide while he looks from constellation to constellation, fingers lacing together while fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
★ yugyeom k。[h] 6 years ago
@★ jungkook j。 It played at the drive-in? He must've missed it, then. Yugyeom wants to ask what he meant, though. Explained his life? His brows knit together as he looks at Jungkook, and even though he wants to move to face him, he stays planted, laying down. There's a quick turn of subject, and he knows that the other doesn't want to talk about it. That he has some kind of secrets that he hides behind his pretty smiles, and well groomed hair. Yugyeom rolls with it, because if, in time, Jungkook trusts him, then he'll let him in on his own accord. "Constellations, yeah."

Yugyeom looks away for a moment, because he looks so nice, and if he were a constellation, he'd tell him he's his favorite. But he comes up short. He doesn't know much about the stars, just that there's more out there. He never sits and appreciates the little things on the bigger spectrum, like how the bright ones make such pretty myths, and when connected, they mean something. "All I really know is the Zodiac ones, and that one that's, like, a bear." Or is it a dipper? The big dipper? Little dipper? He feels like a dunce, and he gulps, nervous for a moment; he can play this off. He can do this. Yugyeom bumps his elbow against Jungkook's, tilting his head towards him.

"Geek out with me, tell me what kinda stars you like, and show me where they are?" Because he wants to sit with him, and have him point out the stars, and tell him just what they mean. The brightest, and even the ones they can't see. He wants to buy a star, suddenly, and name it. Name it something pretty, for Jungkook, just to see him smile and geek out some more, maybe even promise that .. One day, they'll get on a rocket, and leave this dumb world.

But that wasn't even a maybe.

It's a fantasy that he can play with, on his own. One he'll keep tight lipped, and keep close to his heart, and belly. "So ... Does this mean you really like the part in Disney's 'Hercules' when he gets stars tossed up on the sky for him?" He plays, hoping that he can make that piss poor smile into a nice, big one, just for him.
★ jungkook j。 [A] 6 years ago
@★ yugyeom k。 A bright laugh escapes Jungkook's tiers at the 'pshoo' sound that Yugyeom makes, nose crinkling while his head rolls to look up at the sky, one leg bending upwards while his left hand nudges beneath his white shirt to press against his stomach. He's happy -- beaming, really. He likes being around Yugyeom, listening to him talk about his life and the different things that they have in common. "It's like a -- video game-ception. That's wild." His grin is still present, eyes curled into small crescents while he continues to gaze up at the stars. The tips of his index finger traces over his stomach the different constellations that he's able to see - it's peaceful. It looks so calm, but he knows that the calmest of things could hold the most problems.

"I'd like that," He murmurs, turning his head to look back at the other. Maybe then he'd be given a chance to know more about Yugyeom's family life... if he'd let him, of course. His own wasn't very interesting, and he tried to not be home as much as possible. His home was a nightmare, but thankfully.. it didn't show. Well, it did, but of course he could cover it up with a story of another fight. It worked, thankfully, and no one questioned him. But he wondered when the day would come when someone actually knows him for him and doubts his lies. What would happen then? He didn't know. He didn't want to know. Hopefully, he could hide his problems for the rest of the year and then he could leave. But for now, fights was the story.

"I saw it, it played in the drive-in. It was a popular showing, that's for sure. I liked it." His pearly whites sink into his lower lip, recalling the events in the movie in his mind. It was kind of his reality check. He recalled seeing the movie after having a really rough beaten from his old man. He looked like , a wound upon his cheek open and seeping blood - hair ruffled and messy. "I felt like that movie kind of explained my life, like I was watching it from the outside." The words kind of slipped out without him thinking, and he inwardly cursed himself because of it. But it was true, he was the one that had to be quiet. His old man was the monster, chasing him and chasing him -- taking away his youth. Stealing his innocence and tossing it away.

"But anyway," He whispers, rolling onto his side and perking his upper half up onto his elbow. His fingers lace together and now he's looking down at the other male, somewhat of a smile still tracing his tiers. "Do you, um, have a favorite constellation? I kind of geek out when it comes to the sky, sorry."
★ yugyeom k。[h] 6 years ago
@★ jungkook j。 The drive-in. He used to go to the drive-in a lot when he was a kid. Watching Jurassic Park, cowering in the front seat because the trees on either side of the large backdrop looked like they were apart of the movie. Because, what if, just what if a dinosaur did come out and eat him? Those were better times. With laughs, and promises, and a happy family of three. A triangle. But triangles mess up the world, it seems. He bites his lip at the drive-in, merely watching how Jungkook speaks. Literally. Watching. How his jaw slightly clenches, how he swears he can see the air that's leaving him around the 'p's, but that's insane. You can't see air.

People like us. Who knew? He wouldn't have guessed it, but he feels a bit more at ease, now, he feels his shoulders sag, and that itch in his belly goes away. "I think a lot of things are ed up cover-ups. Video games .. That would be funny. Imagine if the ruler, or the player, whatever, of this world saw us playing video games. A video game, in a video game, and sometimes, the video games, play video games." He reaches up to his head, and makes a 'pshoo' sound, like his mind it blown from this. Maybe's. He doesn't like maybe. Maybe is such a drag, such a way to be like 'I don't want to, but I have some sort of vision of you and don't want to hurt your feelings.'. A no that gives hope to feelings. They .

"We can watch Netflix at my house sometime." His mom is never home. She's always out with her new family. How his older step-sister is already in college, and doing so great, and is probably going to be a rocket scientist, or something stupid like that, while his step-dad drives across the country, because he's some big trucker for some big 'important' . He can never visit his dad, unless it's the visitation weekend, once out of the month. Not that he even likes going over there. The younger step-brother's there, and he's a .

"You ever seen 'A Quiet Place'?" He whispers, looking up to the sky once more, his hand dropping down onto the comforter below them, picking at the old threads that have pulled up from many washes, and many nights of use. "It's about the world that was taken over by these monsters, and you have to be really quiet, otherwise, they'll get you. It's a ... Kind of slow movie, but the parts that there's something good happening, it's good." It is good. It puts a lot of into perspective. About how it's so easy to give up, to sacrifice, to make the wrong move, and it leads to the worst decisions.

He likes it. He likes Jungkook. He wants to hang out with him more.
★ jungkook j。 [A] 6 years ago
@★ yugyeom k。 "Exactly! Definitely aliens, that's gotta be the only explanation. I mean -- how about that one case, ah.. what was it," He snaps his fingers, brows knitting together while his legs extend forward. "Oh! The Roswell UFO Crash, back in 1947. People are going to look into that and seriously tell me that it wasn't aliens? Yeah, okay." He rolls his eyes, releasing a light chuckle whilst tapping his fingertips against his stomach. Jungkook remembered the countless nights of reading into the different cases, watching video after video until there were no more left. It was an interesting topic, one of the most interesting ones. And finally, someone doesn't think he's mental for his thoughts on it. He's glad, that he'd found somebody that wants to have this conversation with him.

And even though they were here, now, in this moment - the worry still settled in his stomach. But even if this is the last time that they talked, or hung out - if that's what the other wanted, that is - at least Jungkook had found some peace in it. He tried not to read people, to jump to conclusions about what they wanted..... so he ended his speculations and allowed himself to relax. At least make this time good if they weren't going to hang out again. He's listening closely to what the other is saying, particularly about the shows on Netflix. Specifically the part about feeling normal in the messy world that they were living in. At least now, to Jungkook, it didn't seem so bad or so scary.

"I haven't, I don't have Netflix. But a lot of the times, i'm at the drive-in and i'll sneak some movies after hours that's laying around.. It's amazing to see how views have changed, or stayed the same - about people like us." He'd caught onto what the other was saying, and decided to reciprocate the confession of his likes. His eyes are still on the stars, and above them, he could see the constellation of Pegasus. But he soon turns his head to the side, looking at Yugyeom as he looked at him, lips being moistened by the wetness of his tongue while observing him for a moment. The corners soon twitch, curling upwards while parting to release a breath.

"I like to think that... we're all in some kind of video game, or there's something a lot bigger out there controlling us. There's no way things would be happening the way that they are now if there were a god, you know? It doesn't make any sense. Maybe Christianity is just some kind of ed up cover-up for the truth. I don't know." He's grinning now, interest and mild excitement shining within his orbs. He's still looking at Yugyeom -- he wants to reach out, to nudge away the strands from his eyes so that he could get a better look, but instead, his fingers press just a tad bit tighter upon his abdomen and his shoulders shrug.

"Maybe it's all crazy," He begins quietly, still looking at him. "But it's kind of exciting, a boost, to be able to speculate. Maybe there will be a rocket that comes to take us, just -- maybe." He shrugs again, soon turning his head up to look back at the stars. And he's reminded of the endless amounts of 'maybe's' that there are in the world.

@★ jungkook j。 "They're definitely real. For real. Those times where there are weird little clouds in the sky, that have no other clouds near them, and they just look artificial? Screw the theory that America's making them, it's the aliens. And then the stuff that they found? Those big skeletons? Aliens." He nods, suddenly invigorated - he loves talking about like this. There's something about it, especially when there's another person that agrees with him. He's got so many theories, so many weird stories that make other people look at him and squint, because it's weird. He's weird. Weird. He loves, and hates, that word. His younger step-brother calls him weird all the time when he starts trying to make conversation with his mom, and the little runt sticks his big nose into it.

Wishful thinking, for some peace. But he finds peace, in these moments. When Jungkook stares at the sky, and then to him, and asks if he's coming. Going to lay in the truck bed with him, and let the sound of the world around them fade into nothing. As cars start to leave, and the buses fire up to head home, and students leave by the crowds, probably to go to some party, to get some kind of wasted. Without their captain. He grips the side of the truck, and kneels down beside him, laying down on the comforter, and shifting so that he can stare up at the stars. Yugyeom's hands rest on his belly, his legs stretched out, and touching the tailgate. His tongue flicks over his lips, and his gaze breaks from the stars, to look over at Jungkook.

He should really be up there, he's a star in, and of, himself.

"You ever watch documentaries on Netflix? They've got a lot of stuff." A lot of good stuff. About how this man has another family in an alternate dimension, and how he knows them, he's spoken to them. They called him crazy, but well, he's got some kinds of proof. He's gotta rewatch it, remember the proper points of it, before he starts telling anyone about it.

"And then some good shows, too. They've got some nice .. 'Originals', and stuff. Some is kind of iffy, and I wouldn't really sit there and watch it myself. But you know, it's good. Lots of Pride stuff, lots of stuff to validate. To make you feel normal, in this kinda ed up world." Yugyeom goes silent after that, and if Jungkook read into it, that would've been one of his first confessions about his like for genders. Plural. "Sometimes, I think that there's going to be this .. big rocket .. That comes to take us, you know? But for the better. I like to think for the better. That this is just some sort of ty experiment."

Some really ty experiment. That's for sure. He knocks his head to the side, looking over at Jungkook. He grins, his hair falling over his eyes, the shaggy, faded dyed hair obscuring his vision slightly. "But that's just kind of crazy."

@★ yugyeom k。 With his fingers basically curled around the 'comfortable' shoulder strap of his baseball backpack, he naturally follows by Yugyeom's side as they begin making their way towards his truck. A quiet laugh escapes the males lips while his shoulders raise in a half-hearted shrug, head tilted down while his gaze followed the small rocks that his toes would nudge forward with each step. "I didn't want to make you wait long, is all." Jungkook is a simple man, he doesn't take hour long showers, doesn't do too much. He enjoys the little and simple things of life. Because that's what life was full of, right? The simple things.

His body comes to a halt when they reach the large truck, his hip nudging upon the back of it. His gaze follows Yugyeom, each and every movement that he makes. "No, it's fine. I like that. They're real though, right? I swear i've seen a UFO before." He could remember that night as if it were yesterday. The drive-in theatre had emptied out and Jungkook was laying back in his car, listening to the old fashioned commercials through his radio. His gaze followed the traces of the constellations, bouncing from star to star before catching a bright green light in his peripherals. However, when he looked, it was gone. And to this day, he swears that it was a UFO, and everyone thought he was incredibly insane. Maybe the two had more in common than they thought.

His light brown orbs soon falls towards Yugyeom's hand, noticing how much it seemed to shake. He looks at his face once more, and for the first time...

his heart flutters.

He extends his arm and allows his baseball bag to fall to the ground, lips curling upwards as he slips his hand into the others. He pulls himself up, shoulder brushing upon the others before he takes a seat on the blanket and soon lays back - one arm propped beneath his head while he looks up at the stars. But he then looks to Yugyeom, free hand resting upon his abdomen while he shifts one of his foot side to side. He's hesitant before he questions a quiet "You coming?"

@★ jungkook j。 Give him five, but Yugyeom needs ten to prepare for himself. He in air, and keeps it puffed in, before wheezing out an unsteady 'okay' towards Jungkook. That's when the awkward sits in. When he stands there, in the summer heat, shuffling his feet from side to side. He should go wait by his truck, do something. Get the from the back and put it on the bed of the truck, because sometimes, yes, he sleeps in his truck. It's paid off. It's comfortable. Jungkook wasn't kidding about the five minutes thing, though. He looks like he ran out of there as quick as possible. No celebratory cheers, no pep talks, just a quick get in and get out. He likes that. Likes that he doesn't beat around the bush, and that he's overzealous. He makes up for the lack of excitement Yugyeom has.

He peers down at him, because Jungkook is only a little bit shorter than him, he realizes now, before nodding, and jutting his head over to the side. "Truck's this way." He hasn't seen Jungkook's car yet, but he's sure he will tonight - if he drove it, that is. "You sure you felt the water in the shower? I mean, I know the red is gone, but damn," Yugyeom's whistle is low as he makes small talk, trudging off to the side of the field, towards the parking lot. Everything is still pretty bustling, with people heading home, kids getting on the bus to go back to their school, and people loitering. It's a good thing he parks far away. He likes his privacy. Likes how he can just ... chill, and that no one will bother them in his massive truck.

The green monster's only a bit away now, and he fishes out his keys, unlocking the doors and climbing in halfway. You know the truck is big when a 6'0" guy has to hoist himself inside. His knees press against his seat, and he reaches into the back to grab his favorite comforter, pulling it out, and folding it up against his belly. "It's kinda impromptu, but you know. it." His favorite saying, if anything. "I like just lookin' at the stars. My mom thinks I'm crazy 'cause I talk about aliens a lot, says that if I keep talkin' about 'em, I'm gonna get picked up by one." He slurs, hopping down from his truck, and slamming the door shut.

His hand is shaking by how nervous he is. His careless accent comes out when he's nervous. He blames his dad and the constant moves to the country for that. Yugyeom tosses the blanket over into the bed of the truck, before lifting himself up, and pulling himself over. Without a word, he holds out his hand for Jungkook, ready to help him in - or to grab his stuff. Whichever the baseball player preferred. He smiles, though, when he looks at him. The tiniest smile that pushes up his cheeks, and accentuates that lovely little beauty mark on his cheek, gives light to his youthful features, and though he looks very tired, he has this glow of invigoration about him.

Something that Jungkook does to him, it seems... Or maybe it's just baseball.

@★ yugyeom k。 "Mmhm." Jungkook hums, not necessarily buying the story, but he pushes the thought away. He was still present, and that meant a lot to him. More than he'd ever vocalize. The closer proximity gives him the ability to have a closer look, his gaze picking up the red around his eyes and the bags beneath them. Over all, Yugyeom was intriguing, maybe he was looked at as some sort of mystery. Jungkook wasn't aware of any reputation that he had, he surely hadn't heard his name around school -- and maybe... maybe that was a good thing. His fingers are nervously fidgeting with the jersey of his uniform, tapping upon his abdomen while swallowing thickly.

He's surprised upon hearing the next question, gaze following the others towards the ground. It soon raises though, to observe him, and for a second he doesn't want to respond. He wants the time to freeze, because finally Yugyeom didn't look so cold. Vulnerability looked good on him. But he sticks to taking a mental picture, tucking it into somewhat of a 'memory box' before straightening up from leaning on the fence while clearing his throat. "Nah, i'm busy." He replies, all before scratching upon the curve of his neck with a light chuckle. "Kidding. I'm not busy. I just have to wash up, and we can -- do the whole, sitting down and talking... thing."

His words are soft, and eyes are appreciative of the offer. It took him by surprise, really, and was the last thing that he was expecting. But he was happy that it was even offered in the first place. "Give me five?" He questions, also raising up his hand to make a '5' whilst beginning to step backwards. Anyone remotely close to Jungkook would be able to see that he felt a tad nervous himself, he mostly spoke with his hands as an indication when the feeling appeared. He soon begins jogging towards the empty locking room to shower and change into a white t-shirt with some sweatpants, tossing his baseball bag over his shoulder before heading out and back to the other - fingers ruffling his wet hair.

"Okay," He breathes out, tilting his head up to look at him.

@★ jungkook j。 He knows that hitting balls out of the field, or pretty far, was mostly good. He cheers along with the others, watching as sand kicks up, and Jungkook's numbers get further away. He comes 'round, and it repeats. It's like that crack was needed to get the team into gear. He finds himself clapping, understanding a bit more after this .. Kind of interesting game. The only thing interesting was the emotions that played across Jungkook's face throughout the entire game. The euphoria, the discomfort, the anger, and then that final bit of relief. He likes that look. How relaxed, at ease, Jungkook is. He should have it more.

Yugyeom's thumb swipes under his nose as he hops down from the stands, all gangly limbs and no grace when he lands on the concrete in front of the other. He finds himself leaning against the fence again, like the beginning of the game, to look at Jungkook. He's dirty, sweaty, his cheeks are all red - from exertion, and from the and, but it's a look. A good one. Yugyeom waves it off, and with a roll of his eyes, he segways into looking away. "I finished the oil change early. Only needed about four bottles instead of five." 'Cause that fifth would really make a time difference, sure. Yugyeom's hands suddenly find their way into his pockets, shoving them deep down in the loose fitting jeans, and righting himself to stand up straighter.

"You .. Doin' anything tonight?" Probably should shower, rest. They have showers in the lock room, right? But still - Yugyeom his lips, and looks down, scuffing his foot against the concrete. "I wanted to .. Sit down with you, and say sorry, and stuff." He whispers, and for once, he looks vulnerable. "I feel ... really bad, and this isn't my scene, but I said ' it'." Because he should have a nice friend, and he knows he can find something in Jungkook.

It just takes one thing to really bond over, and the rest, if it's really meant to be, falls into place. His stomach hurts. He's so nervous. This . He should be laying in the bed of his truck and staring at the sky.

@★ yugyeom k。 Jungkook eyes the scoreboard, fingers curling within the slots of the metal fence. "HOME: 2 - VISITING: 3" Yeah, so far they weren't doing so great. It was just one point ahead and the start of the game, but the nerves still boiled in his stomach. Especially because -- he shifts his gaze to the stands, staring at the male who seemed incredibly clueless to where he was even at. It was cu - "Jungkook, you're up. Please, hit the ball." The coach's hand squeezes his shoulder, and the male nods. He takes his bat and adjusts his gloves before finally making his way out of the dugout and onto the field. He's at home base, legs shoulder width apart and bent just the slightest - arms raising his bat over his shoulder. And suddenly --

"Look at that hit! Wow, first home run of the night!"

He's running as the announcers exclaim, as fast as he ing can before he slams his foot on the home-base. And that repeats four more times throughout the game. And soon it's over, the crowd is cheering at the win and the players are jumping up and down in victory with arms hooking around each other. And soon enough, it quiets down. The team heads back to the locker room, but Jungkook is removing the white gloves from his hands, tucking them beneath his bicep while stepping towards the stands. His uniform is completely covered by the red sand, cleats almost completely worn out and his hair clinging to his sweaty skin. But he's unashamed.

His gaze is still focused on his hands until he's stepping out onto the concrete where the stands are located, soon leaning back upon the metal fence. "I thought you were busy tonight," He muses, raising his hands once again to remove his hat and nudge through his hair before finally raising his gaze to Yugyeom, somewhat of a playful simper present upon his tiers.

@★ jungkook j。 His eyes are rimmed red; from what? He wouldn't tell, probably make a joke about being high on life, when it was the fact he'd been rubbing his eyes raw, and maybe letting out a tear, or two. But when he sees Jungkook, he can't stop himself from giving him a slight smile, and quirking his fingers towards him in a semi-wave. He swears he saw the slight lift of a smile when Jungkook turned, but it could be the way the stadium lights are hitting him, of course. The game begins, and honestly, he's never been so lost in his life.

Looking out as people run around this weird diamond, only knowing you're really supposed to hit the ball in a certain way, and run. Get touched by a ball? You're out, or something. That was the extent of his knowledge. He didn't know about bunting - buncing? - or about stealing bases. Sure, if they stole something, they were cheered on, yet he steals some candy bars and he gets yelled at by the shop clerk. What kind of world is this? There's something about innings, and honestly, he has no idea. No ing Idea what these numbers mean. Is it like golf? The lower the better? Or was Jungkook's team actually winning?

Yugyeom stands next to a few people who seem to be avid fans, gripping onto the chain-link fence, looking out as Jungkook steps up. What position is he even? Either way, he has to appreciate the sport, and his .. friend's.. form. Friend. If Jungkook even saw him like that after he was a complete to him.

But the world does love a reality check king.

@★ yugyeom k。 "This is our rival, so make sure that you're focused. You all know not to bring any personal problems onto the field, unless they'll make you play better. Let's kick tonight, yeah? We're gonna do great. Alright, c'mon, dragons on three."

Jungkook was the one speaking these things towards the members of his team, he was the captain so it was his job. But he stressed upon the thought of the topic -- would he be able to follow his own instructions? If there was one thing that he'd learned not to take onto the field, his problems at homes. But recently... Yugyeom had been outstanding in his mind. He attempted not to think about him, he couldn't. It was the biggest game of the season and hundreds were expected to attend. But there he was, "When's your next game?" and that smile. That god damn smile. His eyes narrowed at his reflection, scowling at it before lightly smacking his glove upon the mirror. "Let it go." The male told himself.

And just like that, he his heel and headed out of the locker room. Most of his team had already arrived at the field, and he was falling behind. Jungkook tucked his batting gloves beneath his bicep, raising his free hand shortly after to run through his hair and adjust his hat. His lips were pursed into a small 'o', whistling the same damn tune that played throughout the speakers of that damn truck. By now he'd reached the field, stepping down into his team's dugout while sliding on his gloves. Jeon Jungkook, well known for being the captain of the baseball team, most recently being listed as one of the top hitters within the country in high school league, but would anyone know what was running through his mind? What he was going through?

"Who would've thought that loser would've shown up?" He heard in the distance from the mouth of his own teammate, gaze following theirs. He'd halted upon the site, his whistle slowing down until it came to a stop. He was here. "I'd watch your mouth, Henrik. He'd kick your ." Jungkook spoke while turning on his heels, a grin etching upon his tiers whilst grabbing his bat and awaiting the beginning of the game.

@★ jungkook j。 He's usually not so bunched up and worried, as if playing with fire was the norm for him. Which, it is, but damn, this was something he felt in a tight twist in his lower belly. He hates it. Hates how Jungkook's words had made their way under his skin, and picked, and picked at him until he ended up here. Even waiting underneath his truck, letting oil drip on his chest and nearly stain him did nothing to get his mind off of the other. How he had looked so angry, so broken, so pissed. Lord, he looked nice when pissed. Yugyeom shakes his head to rid himself of the thoughts, and reaches up to tug his hood over his head once more.

Getting there early was perfect, he guesses. Sitting in the front, right at the edge, the first row of the bleachers, able to see through the chainlink fence perfectly. His hands droop between his legs, his elbows pressing to his knees, and his eyes scanning the field. What position does Jungkook even play? Would he be batting first? What's even going on? Yugyeom looks left, then right, before ... Pulling down his hood, and staring out. He looks so out of it, like he should be labeled as high, or tweaking on something.

But he's just scared.

At least the uniforms look nice.
