@jeon jungkook Xuanyi was just reaching for her glass of water when she found his arm wrapped around her shoulder making her visibly straighten up slightly, but she pretended she wasn't feeling her heart set off like a bullet train as she took a sip of her water, almost spitting it right back out when he called her 'babe'. It took everything within her to stop herself from bursting into laughter at how awkward it sounded, biting down hard on her bottom lip but not hard enough to draw blood.
It was when he awkwardly coughed that Xuanyi snapped out of her own thoughts. "uhm, yes. two specials please." She mumbled but the waitress barely paid her any heed as she continued on with her next sentence, a sentence that made Xuanyi almost draw blood just by biting on her own lips. "Thirst." She muttered to herself, rolling her eyes as she shook her head. "Not everyone in this world are bunnies who are in desperate need of some-" She was still mumbling to herself as she turned to face him. That was when Jungkook asked her the question she was definitely not looking forward to causing her to inhale sharply as she turned to look away again, an awkward smile on her face.
God, please just stop time so that she could dig a hole and hide herself deep within it, never to come out again in a million years.
"Who said anything about a first date?" She retorted. "I'm on my first date with.. with.." Her eyes wandered the area that she was in before her gaze finally landed on the potted indoor plant that was set just in a few steps away from their table. "with this lovely gentle-plant right here." She turned to face him with a smile plastered across her face. "Yes, that's right. I'm on a date with this gentle plant right here and you," she paused, giving her next words some thought. "you are it's wingman!" She grinned, somewhat proud at her own creativity at coming up with a comeback on the spot, an idea only a genius cou- oh who was she kidding?
Letting out a soft sigh, she gestured towards the crowd with her left hand. "The crowd was watching so what else could I say besides that we're on a date?" She asked him before raising her hands into the air to form air quotations. "Oh, we're out here just stalking our friends who are on a date because we're weird and creepy and borderline psychotic?" She had just finished her sentence when she noticed the pair that the both of them were after standing and beginning to leave the diner.
Softly, she nudged the other with her elbow, nodding her head over at the couple's direction. "They're leaving! What do we do??"
@min yoongi Jinhwan nodded lightly listening to the other. "Oh - so you tell me you're confident in silly things and want to know what I'm confident in?" He chuckled lightly. "I'm also confident in silly things. More importantly I'm confident in the way I dress. I got good fashion."
As the two finished eating they decided to call it an end to their date. Jinhwan payed for the meals and left a tip on the table, before getting out of the booth waiting for Yoongi. They made their way home.
@wu xuanyi Xuanyi doesn't miss a beat in her response, and it's safe to say that Jungkook isn't surprised. If anything, he's relieved- as only moments after the words tumble from his lips does he think to regret how harsh they probably sounded. Wait. But... what? This is definitely new to him. Though it's safe to say the two are pretty versed in bickering by now, the best thing about it has always been the lack of remorse. They throw jabs and sink insults and yet here he is 'wavering' over whether or not he's hurt her feelings.
But she doesn't seem offended, and an immense weight alifts from his chest as the conversation tumbles forward. "Ever occur to you why exactly I called you 'XuanYIKES'? Trust me, it ain't that charming personality that did it." And yet as he's shifting to her side, he finds himself nowhere near disturbed. If anything, he's idly amused at how much slighter she is than him. Delicate, even. Something akin to pretty, but that word doesn't sit just right on his tongue when it comes to this girl. A voice speaks up from the furthest corner of his mind to supply that the word just isn't strong enough.
He suppresses that voice.
There's bias bleeding from Xuanyi's approval and he thinks to comment on it but then the waitress goes and says something that makes his spine stiffen. Oh. Well, . This is exactly what he's been hoping to avoid. But as the girl beside him speaks and proceeds to tag along in her assumption, Jungkook realizes there's no way they can back out of this now. His body betrays him, showing no reluctance to languidly secure his arm around her shoulder to draw her closer. That damned voice returns just as he tucks her against him to point out just as easily she fits into him.
"That's right, um- Babe." God, she's gonna kill him for this, he just knows it. Turning his attention to the waitress next, he cups a hand beside his mouth and tosses her a secretive wink. "She gets a little shy. We haven't exactly made it official." Nor did they plan to. Ever. At all. But god would he be honest in admitting he's enjoying this. He's hurled from his thoughts only by the waitress's clipped response. The dullness in her eyes reveals every she refuses to give and Jungkook finds himself awkwardly coughing into his free fist. "Ah, I'll just stick with the special. Make it two if she's okay with that? I'll cover both." The waitress tosses him a look as if to say 'of ing course you will", and he only has a moment to be mildly offended before she's scribbling down the order onto her notepad.
"Wonderful! I'll have it out in a bit! I'll bring a couple of waters out first, to quench that 'thirst'." It's her turn to wink this time and Jungkook inwardly groans, shooting Xuanyi a withering look. It's only when she bounces away, her ponytail jerking haughtily in tow, that Jungkook turns to her. "First date, huh? When were you gonna tell me about this?" The smirk on his face practically wears itself.
@kim jinhwan Yoongi looked back up to the other with a small smile and sighed in relief. Yoongi couldn't believe his ears. The person he likes wants the same thing he does. They understand each other a little more now...Thats a good sign. Yoongi bit his lip has he listened to the others reply. "I mean there is some good aspects of confidence. But most of the things Im confident in are just silly things that dont matter...Or shouldnt matter" Yoongi chuckles softly before taking a sip of the sweet tea by his plate.
Yoongi wipes the sweat off of the glass before setting it back down. " So what are you confident in?" Yoongi tilts his head and plays with his earring. " I wanna know~" yoongil laughs softly and looks at Jinhwan with questioning eyes
@min yoongi Of course, Yoongi was right he can't expect anyone to believe something that he didn't believe himself. It was the number one rule in the book and everyone knew it - but of course very few thought they had to abide by it. With that in mind Jinhwan nodded his head letting out a soft "You're right. " before Yoongi continued to speak. Jinhwan bit his lip nervously his hand reaching for the sweet tea, but kept it there and didn't move. Of course, he knew the reason why they were on the date, and of course Jinhwan was also slightly afraid of Yoongi just trying to be nice to the male. Jinhwan's lips began to slowly curve into a small smile as the other finished what he was saying. "I-" Jinhwan paused trying to find the right words to say to Yoongi. "I hope so too." He said a lot softer than intended.
"Confidence as having too much pride? " Jinhwan repeated questionably now taking a small sip of his drink. "I think that it's okay to be confident, and it's good actually." Jinhwan nodded looking at the male in front of him. "I think it makes a person more attractive if they can confidently state something good about themselves and know it to be true. It shows that you have enough confidence to help another person out. "
@kim jinhwan Listening to Jinhwan's response, Yoongi's small smile turns into a frown. "Why should I believe Im cute when i want to you to believe the same thing" Yoongi said with a small sigh. Yoongi sets down his fork and looks in Jinhwans eyes. " Ive never dated before... I didnt actually think i could fall for someone...But, I've always imagined giving that person my all and show that person how beautiful they are to me...H-how much they mean to me." Yoongis stomach started fluttering. He bit down own his lip trying not seem nervous " Im hoping that person is y-you..."
" I'm only confident with some parts of me...Most of the time i view confidence as having to much pride" yoongi looks down " I dont want to be a prideful person and most of the things im confident in is just silly things that i shouldnt be confident in"
@min yoongi Hearing the other talk, Jinhwan couldn't help but let out a small laugh he shook his head. "I think you should believe your cute." He mumbled lightly picking up his fork as well eyeing his dumplings on the plate with a small smile before looking back up at his date. "I guess I can agree with you on that though." He nodded lightly.
"Being confident in only some parts - but no I probably won't believe you anytime soon." Jinhwan smiled brightly taking a bite of his dumpling, finishing his bite before continuing to talk. "So, what are some parts of you that you are confident in?" Jinhwan asked genuinely curious
@jeon jungkook At his answer, Xuanyi blew a raspberry as she rolled her eyes. "Don't you mean I should be fearless since I see your face every single day?" She retorted. "I think anyone would become numb to fear after having to face you every single day." She bit back a small chuckle at her own words, opting instead to turn away.
A tongue like knife but the heart of a giant softie, that was what made Xuanyi, well, Xuanyi.
Despite her hurling insults at him about his face, the girl had grown fond of the other and had now began to look forward to their daily bantering. It was beginning to turn into something that she could look forward to as she rose from slumber each day.
Xuanyi snapped out of her own thoughts just in time to hear the other commenting about not missing much causing her to let out a soft snort of amusement, one corner of her lips tugging up into a small smile. It was true, however, he was really not missing much and neither was she with her attention turned away from their targets.
"We're NOT missing much but I'm pretty sure you can take notes on how to treat your date right." She teased. "We wouldn't want that lucky lady or gentleman running away from you from the amount of insults you hurl at their face. They wouldn't gain Xuanyi's seal of approval if they did." She added, trying to hide how she was slightly tensing up from their proximity, suddenly aware of how he smelled like... well, if she was to describe it in words, a refreshing walk in nature, a scent that reminded her of cool nights by the fire, he smelled like pine needles.
She barely had time to gather her thoughts together when a waitress had made her way over to them, looking as if she honestly truly had better places to be than the diner. Xuanyi turned to the glass of water that she'd gotten before Jungkook had joined her and almost choked on the water at the waitress's words, spluttering water over herself as she coughed. "F-First date??" Her face turned a soft shade of pink as she wiped herself off with a couple of tissue papers that were already placed on their table.
"Uhm.." She glanced around, beginning to realise that her reaction-- choking on water, was beginning to gather attention from the people around them. "Y-yeah, first date." She forced a perky smile back at the waitress, letting out an awkward chuckle, not wanting to attract more attention as she looked up at the waitress who was beginning to look more and more bored. Oh boy, she was probably going to have questions that she needed to answer and boy, she did not dare to even so much as glance at the male next to her.
"That's lovely, so what would it be for the two of you today? Might I recommend some dishes that couples usually get from our diner?" The waitress asked, sounding almost like she was a broken recorder, simply repeating what she was trained to say to the customers coming into the diner.
@kim jinhwan Yoongi took the lemon from the edge of his cup and squeezed it to let out all of the citrus juices in his tea. Yoongi looked back up at Jinhwan. " Well... There is some parts of me that I'm confident in, that I think are okay" Yoongi chuckles softly and shakes his head. " But cute? No. No I don't think I'm cute even if you said otherwise. I still wouldn't believe you"
Yoongi took a sip of his lemon tea before picking up his fork " I think that's just me being hard headed tho" He took a bite of his warm noodles and looked back up. "So I guess you won't be beliving anytime soon?"
@kim heejung He considers her question for a deadpanned moment. The police? YoonHwan, themselves? Honestly she could've been anyone, but the fact that she actually showed up is enough to keep his sarcasm at bay. Instead, he in his bottom lip, lowering his hand to observe the absence of blood on his fingertips. Just a bit of sweat, but otherwise he's left unharmed. "Yeah, I think so," he shrugs, quipping a grin that sidles so easily against his features. "Been told I've got a hard head. It'd take more than that to scuff it up."
Only as he's speaking does he realize how obvious and utterly oblivious they both are, and for a second Jungkook's sure they've blown their cover. But when he whirls around, he's relieved to find the lovebirds still too utterly absorbed in one another to give a damn. Figures. Love and all that pseudo-philosophical bull was never his thing.
"What? Oh-- No, no, you're fine here. No use in risking you out in the open, yeah?" his lips, he chances a glance around them. The evening dusk concealing what the lamplight can't reach, their voices cloaked by the yawning chorus of nature. "I'll turn away if you need. I won't look, but it's best if we don't take a chance getting caught walking in." He considers her other offer though, perhaps the prospect of being a decoy is a little too fun to ignore... But if they this up just because of his inability to wear subtlety when he needs it most, Jungkook's sure he won't forgive himself.
He swivels on heel, still too distracted to consider the fact that his costume of choice just might've been a bit too... inappropriate, even for these standards. "It might not fit on you though. It runs a little big, but it doesn't have to be perfect." It isn't the standard uniform, that's for certain. But at least they won't run the risk of being recognized.
@min yoongi After the waitress walked away Jinhwan's attention went right back to Yoongi, a soft smile curving on his lips. "Hmm." He hummed softly taking a drink of his sweet tea, thinking for a moment of what to say next. "Do you believe your cute?" He asked setting his glass down back on the table with a napkin underneath it. "I think that if you believe you're cute then - " He paused thinking if what he was going to say next was going to be true or not, before nodding his head softly. "Yeah - if you believe it then so can I." Jinhwan gave in softly, taking another drink of his sweet tea.
Jinhwan tried not to drink the tea too much as it was one of his nervous ticks to drink whatever around him, but he couldn't tell why he was nervous. He was roommates with the male and already asked him to move in? He knew his feelings for him a little bit before that, but what made it different? The fact that it was actually confirmed? That they were on a date? Jinhwan wasn't sure but whatever the reason - it was not a bad one.
@wu xuanyi To say he takes a bit of pride in nearly frightening the girl out of her wits is an understatement. The curve of his collar can't conceal the smirk that dances across his lips, but he keeps his response as tame as he can manage. "Where do you think? The stork. And I'd have figured you'd be pretty fearless. I mean you get a look at yourself everyday in the mirror, right?" Back to the banter, of course. He's come to realize that this muse of theirs, this back and forth tug-of-war, is something that he relishes in. Without a sibling of his own, Jungkook likes to think that this is how it'd be like to rely on someone. To know them so well that he flaunt his flaws on the cusp of his sleeve without regret.
He quirks a brow at Xuanyi's words though, already slipping back into his self-assumed stealth mode and stiffening at the mention of their lovestruck friends. "God, so I'm NOT missing much..." It figures. As cute as Jinhwan and Yoongi were, something about them strikes him as too 'vanilla' for anything better than a 'slice of life' romantica. But that doesn't stave the desire to observe, if not for a moment longer... And so at her suggestion, he finds himself hesitating for only a moment before he's scooting nearer. It's only when he's at her side, the brunt of her shoulder glazing against his and a soft whiff of strawberries and chamomile filling his senses.
"People are gonna think we're a cou--" He's interrupted by a sudden barricade of bright yellow, blinking back to take in the features of the perky waitress standing before them. She smiles in a way that tells him she's paid to do it and suddenly he finds his mouth drying. "First date?" she inquires, fishing out her notebook and seemingly the pen that lies tucked behind her ear.
@kim jinhwan As Yoongi looked at Jinhwan, and he couldn't help but think how grateful and lucky he was. Jinhwan is letting him live with him...Taking him on a date. If feels as if this was a dream. Yoongi honestly thought he didnt have a chance with Jinhwan. But since Jinhwan asked him out on date and confessed to him...He thought differently. Yoongi was now excited to see what his future was with this man. He's excited to experience love and compassion. Feelings he never felt before.
Yoongi looked up at the waitress as she set down the food Yoongi have her a small smile before looking back at Jinhwan. "I honestly don't think I'm going to get it through your head" Yoongi laughed softly
@min yoongi It was almost like the world around them had turned into a blur - Jinhwan knew that the man sitting in front of him was special, and that he couldn't find anyone like him. Even if Yoongi's feeling's weren't the same for him he would be happy just being friends with him, but he oh-so-badly wanted the feelings to be the same. Of course he thought that the feelings would be the same but of course that doesn't mean that Yoongi is just playing along with Jinhwan. Or perhaps this way just the way he acted normally. All of it was a mystery to Jinhwan and he would never know how the other truly felt unless something was said. Jinhwan mentally shook his head - now was not the time for that.
"Oh." Jinhwan jumped lightly when the waitress came back for the food and drinks, he had been too deep in thought to realize they were still in the diner and hadn't gotten their food yet. Giving the waitress a small 'thank you' he looked back at Yoongi. "What kind of trophy?" Jinhwan laughed lightly. "Well to be honest I - I haven't thought of that yet. "
@kim jinhwan Yoongi folded his hands over the table and glanced down at Jinhwan's lips. His lips are plump and soft looking...tempting. Yoongi looked away a little flustered and out of his little trance. This was Yoongi' s first date. He didn't want to scare the poor boy away. So he adjusted his eyes somewhere else.
Yoongi chuckled to the others response. "Hmmm what kind of trophy?" Yoongi tilts his head to the side and looked into the others eyes " I mean- if I win..."
@min yoongi Jinhwan's eyes flickered up towards Yoongi's face, seeing the smirk on his face he shook his head lightly biting his lip. The male was quite aware that he liked Yoongi but honestly going on this date confirmed his feelings for the other even more. His voice, the way his words rolled up his lips and the smirk placed so softly on his face - they all made his heart flutter. Jinhwan couldn't have liked Yoongi this much -- could he?
Letting out a soft sigh trying to make sure the other didn't notice, he shook his head his teeth gliding over his bottom lip. "You're not found of loosing, huh?" Jinhwan's head tilted to the left just a bit his bangs falling down just a bit. "I'm not either - so when you find a way to prove it to me I think you would have won a trophy."
@min yoongi /smiles at her as she walks away before looking back at you/
A stubborn mule huh?
/chuckles and shakes my head/
Well I'm just as stubborn so we will see how this goes.
@jeon jungkook (Uhhhhh okay ;;;;; Sounds good to me. Let's go with that.)
Umber eyes blink in surprise at Jungkook's shock, Heejung realizing that maybe her entrance had been a little /too/ quiet. Whoops. "Yeah. Who else would it be?" She questioned, taking another peek at the couple within the establishment while she held back a laugh. To her dismay, things were rather bland. Damn. She silently hoped things would get more action-filled as time went on. Until then, she had some undercover work to do.
"Oh . Is your head okay? Did you smack it when I scared you?" She slowly looked over his forehead, trying to see if she could catch any signs of swelling or redness.
Did he really think she wouldn't show up? Then again, she supposed she couldn't be too surprised herself. She had been pretty hesitant about coming to help stalk the duo in the first place. The idea of watching them wasn't what bothered her, but possibly intruding on Jungkook and Xuanyi getting dinner together WHILE stalking the other two did. Despite her kind attitude and overly curious demeanor, she wasn't the type to third wheel or impose if she felt as though she would be doing so.
"Hell yeah I did. I couldn't chicken out on something like this." She remarked, taking the bag from his grasp and looking it over with interest. Was it a full diner uniform? Or was it simply an apron and a name tag? She wasn't sure and it was almost too dark outside to pull them out and check for sure. "Something convincing, hmm? Might as well. Should I make a break for it inside and get dressed or would it be better for me to change out here and sneak in through the kitchen?"
@min yoongi You can try, but I don't think it will work. /chuckles lightly/
/looks up at the waitress as she comes over to the table/
/gives her my order before letting you give her yours/
@jeon jungkook Xuanyi had just curled a stray strand of hair behind her ear when a man suddenly plopped himself down right in front of her, her heart skipping a beat from surprise as she looked at him in surprise. "HOLY- I swear it's not what it looks li-" She immediately breathed her words out, thinking she'd been caught, her words trailing off as she realised who it was. Almost immediately, she kicked his feet as a form of revenge for nearly scaring the living day lights out of her. "Where did you come from??" She half-whispered, half-yelled from behind her mask. "You scared the living daylights right out of me." She huffed softly and bit down on her bottom lip as she stole a glance at the couple that was seated a few tables away to check if they'd been spotted before heaving a sigh of relief when she realized they were still unaware of their presence.
Turning back to Jungkook, she pulled the white mask off her face as she lifted the long menu up so that it was standing up to hide her face once more. "To answer your question, I don't. I'm only here for ,what I assume is, the same reason as you." She replied, gesturing towards the couple with her pinky finger that was on the menu. "Those two are pretty cute but uneventful so far tho.." She told him, pausing her sentence as she lowered the menu a little. "I'd suggest sitting next to me instead so that you get what you came here for too. I don't think you'd be able to see anything with your back facing them like that." She added, patting the seat right next to hers lightly. "Clearer view here." She smiled slightly, turning her attention back onto the pair.
@kim heejung [ tOTALLY IGNORE the post with xuan pls e u e;; we'll pretend like he's still outside ye? these will be two diff plots ]
Jungkook draws closer to the window, squinting against the silvery fog his breath impresses against the glass and rubbing it away with a scoff. So far there's nothing really to observe beyond two homoual males, sitting side by side in a lonely diner. It sounds like the makings of a fanfiction, if you ask him, but he stays put. Knowing his luck, the moment he turns his back is when the real action picks up. Like a robbery or some .
He's so focused that he doesn't notice Heejung's presence until it's too late, nearly smacking his head into the panes as he jumps a good foot into the air. "JESUS FU-- wait, Heejung?" Hobbling a little, he rights himself as he nurses the bruise painting his forehead, eyes wide with confusion.
Wait.
Oh, wait.
He's the one who invited her here, after all. With the promise of a costume and everything, mind you. Realization dawns on him in such a palpable manner, his features alighting as he digs into his pockets. ", sweet! You actually made it! Hell yeah, I do. Just- Give me just a second..." He pulls out a ruffled headdress and s his jacket, letting the thin satchel hidden there fall into his waiting arms. "I figure the best way to join 'em is in something convincing." He offers the bag to her, tastefully forgetting to add that the outfit he'd chosen just happens to be a frilly french maid costume.
