Species List
Asrai: an aquatic fairy, much like a mermaid, but a fairy - no tail. however, these fairies are afraid of daylight, and only appear after dusk begins to settle and leave before dawn. their touch is ice cold, no matter what.
Pixies: the pranksters of fairies who adore flowers and often assist in household chores. they have a very fun/loud persona. they can increase or decrease their size and can change their form at will
Brownies: these fairies tend to take care of the sick and the elderly. they are very gentle, and they can also change their forms at will... most often to farm or domestic animals. they are often seen as a bad omen and people try to avoid them as much as possible.
Elemental Fairies: these fairies tend to take to the elements, and are able to control different things, such as fire/heat, water, wind, earth, animals, etc. they specialize in controlling and maintaining order in those areas.
Vampires: you know the drill. they're the bloodsuckers, the kind that are sensitive to sunlight. no, they dont sparkle. most vampires these days have been able to get by with drinking donated blood out of blood bags, but about once a month the craving to drink fresh,warm blood tends to overtake them.
Werewolves: you know the drill pt 2. the humans-gone-wolves at the sight of a full moon. a full moon usually only occurs once a month, and typically werewolves turn into their wolf form. however, not all are viscious, killing monsters. some are like puppies. soft puppies. but the uncontrollable ones typically need a sedative to sleep through the night.
* Witches/Wizards: someone who dabbles in magic but without innate magic powers. these magic users train and become better by learning magic. they can cast spells because they've memorized how to do such things by reading books, etc.
* Warlocks: someone who has gained magical powers from an outside being. such as being gifted such powers, or trading one thing for those powers from someone who can do such things. they can grow in power by learning for or by being gifted more.
* Sorcerers/Sorceresses: someone who is magical due to inborn tendencies and/or acquired status. their magical abilities are limited, as they can really only learn what is taught to them, and often their magical abilities stop them from really doing things on their own.
Mage: a magic user who is a master of their trade. they are scholars who often will learn more and even go to teach others magical abilities. they are strong, knowledgeable, and highly trusted.
Ghost/Ghouls: both are spiritly apparitions. the main difference is that while a ghost is more associated with a memory and is a spirit of a dead person, a ghoul is an typically evil entity that is neither alive nor dead (not quite a zombie, but more in the ghost-y area). ghosts and ghouls, while both spirits, may appear in solid forms as well as the shadows and opaque.
Goblins: these are dwarf like creatures that are easily manipulated with rather low intelligence. typically seen as henchmen to someone of higher power, they can be pretty big pranksters/jokesters. in their true form, they are pretty ugly - but they can take the form of a human if they wish.
Wendigos: these are spirits of greed that have possessed a human. typically, they compel their hosts to act in ways, which are mostly taboo, to secure their survival. 9 times out of 10, wendigos act out in canniballistic ways. the 1 out of 10 chance is extremely rare.
Shapeshifters: these creatures are able to take on any form they want. they may change to anything they wish, as long as it exists, at will. most often, shapeshifters will have one form they prefer to be in as default.
Grim Reapers:okay so i may have taken the idea from Goblin but dont @ me okay. no, they arent the scythe wielding guys, but they are the ones who great others when they die. they help others process the idea of death, and lead them on their way to their intended destination, wherever that may be. they arent cloaked in dark robes, but they are usually wearing funeral attire.
Undead: no, they arent zombies. zombies usually involve some sort of disease - the undead are merely that. humans that have "died" but not really completely. its not a matter of "an infected person bit me and now im also infected with the disease" but "i died, and didnt quite make it all the way to death, so here i am"
Demons: frankly, these are typically malicious spirits intent on causing harm to others, in whatever way. they include a wide range of types, but im too lazy to list them all out so the category is just "demons". deal with it.
- Please keep in mind, I'm not a fantasy master. I don't know everything about the fantastical world. A lot of this is left up to you to make it what you want. This is just the basis.
