@ᴴ kim hosung the sight of hosung's smile caused a light to sort of shine in his eyes, mingi's smile widening for a moment before he dipped his head, cheeks puffed for a moment. he never thought that he'd end up in a position like that, having been kissed by the guy he'd been crushing on. in thought, mingi's brows furrowed, only just then coming to the realization that he really was crushing on hosung.
with a little shake of his head, mingi looked up at hosung, basking in the little touches that he never really experienced in the same sense - at most, it had been something his mother had done, but with the boy before him now, mingi felt different. it was a good different. "no, never. i mean, i told you about the prom thing. but... yeah.. this.. this is new and... i didn't know what to do."
@ˢ song mingi "yeah, you do." the sight of that gummy smile kept a small smile on hosung's own lips, and as he laid on his side by mingi, he watched over the younger boy. he kept a hand over him, arm resting across his chest while he made himself comfortable on his own bed with mingi beside him. it wasn't something that hosung imagined when he woke up this morning, nor was it something he imagined when the power had gone out, and yet there they both lay.
when mingi agreed to his little proposition, hosung shifted, lifting his arm just a little to let the other roll toward him, and as he did he let his hand rest against the shorter boy's back. his eyes searched his face, other hand running through the hair at the back of mingi's head. it wasn't something he expected, but that didn't make the moment any less nice while he looked into mingi's eyes. "no? never had a little crush before?"
@ᴴ kim hosung "do... do i?" immediately sinking into familiarity, a question slid from mingi's lips without a moment of hesitation. as hosung slid to lay beside him, mingi turned his head to look at the older boy, eyes trailing over the features that he was now not as afraid to admire. a slightly gummy smile broke over his features, eyes upturning into small, soft crescents.
"we can do that." nodding a little, mingi hesitated, glancing between the two of them for a moment. shifting slowly, he rolled onto his side, drawing his hands up to tuck against his chest. the weight of hosung's arm over his middle, and the feeling of his fingers in his hair, was a comfort, one he didn't voice aloud but in his childlike glee, it was evident that he enjoyed even the littlest things. "i've... i've never really... felt like this before."
@ˢ song mingi hosung wasn't exactly surprised to hear that mingi had never kissed anyone before, though he did find himself considering that for a moment. of course in finding out that mingi hadn't kissed anyone before, there was a part of him that wondered just how much the other had done in his lifetime. similarly, the question of how much hosung would be the one to introduce him to had flit through his mind.
"it was nice," hosung said with a smile, "and you have soft lips too." rather than sink down on top of the slightly shorter male, he shifted, moving to come to his side on the bed, though he kept an arm over mingi. as he rested on his side, he brought his head to rest on the pillow, fingers of his other hand slipping through the other's hair. "you know if you're... comfortable with it, we can just cuddle and talk a while. we don't have to do anything crazy."
@ᴴ kim hosung the gentle brush of hosung's finger's through mingi's hair, the soft, fluffy strands falling back and away from his face, managed to cause the butterflies in mingi's stomach to flutter like crazy. he felt a little out of breath, and yet he smiled, cheeks flushed once more. for a moment, he couldn't form not even a question, let alone a statement.
the little brush of hosung's fingers against mingi's cheek, followed by the sight of that smile, sent a thrill through the younger boy, who still held onto the clothes at hosung's waist. "i've never kissed anyone before. but that - that was nice. really nice." nodding a little, mingi's lips still tingled from the kiss, the feeling of such soft lips against his own still lingering there. "you... you have soft lips."
@ˢ song mingi having his lips on mingi's managed to steal hosung's breath away even after they parted. for a moment his eyes remain closed after mingi pulled away, and when his eyes slowly opened he found himself staring down into mingi's eyes. for a moment he wondered if he should pull away, if he should give the younger boy some space, until at last he shifted, bringing a hand up toward mingi's hair. his fingers slipped into the other's strands, pushing them back as he peered at him.
"yeah, mingi?" he asked a little breathlessly when he finally found his voice. after pushing back the soft, fluffy strands of mingi's hair back, his palm came to brush against his cheek. he paused to admire him, but slowly his lips formed into a smile, something self-satisfied in the moment. rather than let the other boy lay there in shock, he opted to tease. "so how was it? everything you dreamed of?"
@ᴴ kim hosung mingi didn't know what to do in the moment, wondering if he should say something or if he needed to do anything in particular. and yet within moments he didn't need to worry about that, because he was suddenly looking up at the older male who was leaning in. he felt his heart skip a beat, a gentle squeeze in his chest, and his eyes fell shut just as hosung's lips met his.
out of reflex, mingi reached up, fingers curling into the fabric of hosung's clothes while their lips met in a gentle kiss. with his eyes shut, fingers holding onto hosung, and mingi's body relaxed under his for the first time since having been confronted over the matter. he admired the feeling of such soft lips in the first kiss he ever shared with someone. only when he felt like his lungs were going to burst did mingi pull back slightly, taking in a deep breath and slowly opening his eyes, his voice quiet. "hosung..."
@ˢ song mingi for a moment hosung only stared at mingi, taking in the sight of his face, waiting for him to give him an answer. and then just as suddenly it was there, laid out between the two of them. he wondered if he should say anything at all, if he should break the silence that stretched between them. but there were no real words to speak in the moment, especially not when it would probably lead to a new string of questions.
hosung waited no longer, he bowed his head, his face so near mingi's that they could share each other's breath. with a tilt of his head, his eyes fell shut slowly, and at last he brushed his tiers against the soft petals of the other boy's mouth, only now realizing just how soft his lips were in a sweet, lingering kiss that hosung was unwilling to break from.
@ᴴ kim hosung "what do i think?" mingi's tone lifted as he asked yet another question, and he just stayed there, silent, for a long moment. pursing his lips a little, he struggled for a moment, genuinely wondering what he thought as he tried to gather his thoughts. as he did, he looked up at hosung, admiring the simple shadows that casted over his face and the way his hair framed those attractive features.
"i think you're really handsome, and i've never thought that about someone before, and i don't... i don't know what i'm supposed to do about it." mingi's voice was deep and a whisper between the two of them while hosung hovered above him. it was finally said between the two of them, the reason why mingi had been acting different recently. taking a deep breath, he looked up at the older boy, unsure if he should have even said what he did.
@ˢ song mingi as mingi laid out beneath hosung, the older male was only given that much more room to move closer. he crawled forward a little further, hands and knees framing mingi beneath him while he peered over the younger. he was flushed, and for a moment hosung was left to contemplate if it was fear or embarrassment that made mingi so red in the face in this moment.
"yeah, i do." he murmured, his voice quieter than usual, another answer given to mingi's usual litany of questions for which hosung always seemed to have an answer. while the younger boy stammered, seemingly without a grasp on the moment, hosung tipped his head down, his hair falling out of place and framing his face. "and i'm guessing, you think something about me too. so what do you think, mingi?"
@ᴴ kim hosung when hosung began to crawl up the bed, mingi sank back as if he would be able to get away from the sudden advance. however, as his head hit the pillow and his hair splayed over the soft item under his head, hosung's face came so near to his that he could feel the older boy's breath on his face. his eyes were wide, and his cheeks were that same, flushed red.
that simple phrase, hosung saying that mingi was cute, made all sorts of thoughts fly from his mind. "you think i'm cute?" it was another question, of course, one filled with genuine curiosity while he looked up at hosing, first glancing along his features before his gaze dipped down. quickly refocusing, mingi swallowed deeply, now firmly confronting his feelings that he had no idea how to handle. "i... you - that... th-that..."
@ˢ song mingi when mingi shifted, crawling backward, and seemingly without really addressing what hosung was saying, the older of the two drew his legs back and moved onto his knees on the bed. for a moment he watched mingi seemingly lose track of his thoughts, or at the very least his words. it seemed difficult to make out whether it was a case of the younger being in disbelief, or hosung just being wrong.
without saying another word, he moved up onto hands and knees, framing mingi's legs beneath him, and crawled his way up, bringing his face closer to mingi's own and casting more shadows over the younger male beneath him. with his face in mingi's, he quirked a brow, his lips forming a slight smirk while looking over the flush on the other's cheeks. "yeah, mingi, i think you're cute."
@ᴴ kim hosung "why wouldn't i want to hang out? of course i wanna hang out with you." mumbling a little under his breath, mingi's brows furrowed slightly as he looked up at hosung, almost pouting. however, he caught sight fo the look he was getting. between the hooded eyes and lazy demeanor, everything was jumbled inside of mingi's head as he floundered for a moment, struck in particular by just one simple look.
he was still processing what was going on in his head and chest when hosung shifted, calling him out for acting differently. it was at that point he knew he had been caught, at least in some sense, and yet he couldn't help his first reaction. shifting away from hosung, mingi let his long legs stretch out as he inched back a little, mostly intent to give hosung space while he moved closer to the pillows. however, the words that came next just made mingi's cheeks flush further. "you think i'm - you think... cute?"
@ˢ song mingi "i mean as long as you want to hang out. i'm not gonna force you to do anything like that," hosung said. his head lolled toward his shoulder as he looked at mingi, eyes a little hooded as he regarded the other almost lazily. it was all too easy to see mingi grow shy, the faint pink that lit his cheeks and the way he played with his fingers very apparent details in the continued narrative of mingi's changed behavior. it only took one question for hosung to push himself up a little more.
"you're acting differently right now, mingi." murmuring quietly, hosung slowly pushed himself up just a little, hands resting at either side of himself on the bed. he looked at the younger boy, an eyebrow slightly raised as he took in just how deeply the other blushed. as he sat up, his knees fell a little wider apart and he placed his hands in the space between his long legs. "don't get me wrong, it's cute. you're cute when you blush."
@ᴴ kim hosung "are you saying we're gonna hang out now?" as hosung moved to lay down beside mingi, scooting on the bed, he hesitated, wondering if he should move to give him more space. reasoning that it wasn't even his bed, he shifted a little, though he proved to just end up pressing more against the older of the two. feeling his cheeks heat up, he brought his hand to his lap, fiddling with his fingers.
mingi looked over to hosung while he spoke, eyes looking over his features. he spent a long time ust looking over the length of hosung's throat, specifically his adam's apple, and he forced himself to look away. however, when hosung spoke up again, he hesitated, eyes wide as he looked over to hosung. he stammered through his response, his cheeks flushed a deep red in the dim light. "i... you - what do you mean? have i been acting differently?"
@ˢ song mingi "i mean if we actually spend some time doing something other than working on our powers-" hosung stopped himself short of sounding like a smart by piping up that he knew all along they could be hanging out. instead of thinking of the next thing to do, however, he slumped down a little on the bed, coming to lie out on the small bed, his side pressing against the outside of mingi's thick thigh as he kept himself propped up on his elbows with his knees pointed toward the ceiling and his feet near the pillow.
"well, i can think of a few things we could do." lifting a shoulder slightly in a shrug, he glanced up at the ceiling before he spoke, stretching out the length of his throat. with a soft hum leaving his lips, he rolled his head on his shoulders and sighed softly. "for starters, we can talk about why you've been acting differently around me lately. gotta be some reason you got more shy when we were just getting comfortable, right?"
@ᴴ kim hosung the game went by with shared laughs and even mingi tossing a card at hosung when he realized he got the answer wrong. it wasn’t his strong suit, playing games like that, but with hosung, mingi felt at peace and like he could unwind a little, let loose, and not feel so unsure about himself. the thought of his powers, his brother and even the feelings he was strugglig with were forgotten about while they simply enjoyed each other’s presence.
once the game was finished, mingi reached out to give hosung a little nudge to the thigh, the easiest spot he could reach. “that was fun. who knew we could do something other than practice?” mingi laughed, shaking his head a little. there was something charming about how he was hanging out with hosung, getting to know the older boy even more, down to the little things. he had a particular fondness for watching him smile. “so now what, huh?”
@ˢ song mingi "you don't need to do that. i mean, maybe we can use it as a practice case- maybe see if you can focus your powers." as they started writing on the slips of paper together, hosung listened to mingi talk, unaware of just why he was essentially rambling on about his brother. it took him a moment, his head tipping up when he mentioned drugs. with someone as straight-laced as mingi seemed, it was hard to imagine a brother with an addiction problem, though in the moment the best he could muster was a sympathetic frown. "sounds like it ."
after setting the pens and papers aside, hosung shifted to face mingi and placed his hands on the others knees while piling folded over papers on the bed beside them both. he instructed mingi before grabbing the first piece and placing it against his forehead, waiting on mingi to deliver the clues he needed to guess. the game continued like that, switching off, hosung getting a little more animated, but certainly quieter when delivering clues to mingi in return. in that moment while they played a little more like kids, it was easy to forget about the power outage, the dying phone, or the fact that there was any awkward, unspoken feeling between either of them.
@ᴴ kim hosung "i can always mess with time then so that your phone charges quicker. when the power comes on, i mean." the loss of warmth when hosung's hand left mingi's caused a small pout to weigh down his lips for a moment, but instead of letting that linger, mingi drew his hand back. tucking his long fingers into his pocket, his hand curled into a small fist to hold onto that warmth.
"i've played, yeah! i used to play all the time with my brother, when we were younger. but then he got busy and i think - i think... i think my brother started doing drugs and then we stopped hanging out." mumbling quietly, he caught the pad and pen, shifting to write a few words on the pieces of paper, the tip of his tongue poking out of the corner of his mouth as he concentrated. sitting up straight once he finished, he smiled widely, gums showing. "finished!"
@ˢ song mingi "don't worry about it, it's just a phone. i'll charge it back up once the power is back on." there was a smile on hosung's face, a genuine one, something a little softer and more inviting in the privacy of the room where powers and school weren't concerned. when mingi looked to their hands, he squeezed the other's fingers gently between his own before letting go when the other agreed to the game.
he shifted, moving onto his knees on the bed and leaning past mingi toward the nightstand to reach for the drawer, giving it a small tug, and pulling it open, the light in the room seeming to shift as the flashlight rolled a little in its place. he pulled out two small notepads, one half-filled with notes, the other blank, and a couple of pens. after tossing the empty pad and pen to mingi, he leaned back into his seat. "so just write some things that aren't too obscure. maybe like... five things. you've played before, right?"
@ᴴ kim hosung something about the way their fingers linked together brought a small smile to mingi's lips, even if in the moment all he could think about was how crazy the butterflies in his stomach were. it's not that he was opposed to the idea of having a crush - if anything, he welcomed it. however, mingi had been brought up believing there was a set way to things, and how he felt toward hosung was not a part of that set way. it didn't stop the feelings, but he didn't know how to process them.
"sorry about the phone thing." mumbling quietly, mingi scrunched his nose, glancing over to hosung. his eyes searched in the dim light, as if looking for something on hosung's face that would help him sort out the feelings. however, when he glanced down to their hands at the mention of the game, he was hesitant. pushing the thought aside, mingi gave a short little nod as he looked over. "yeah, we can play that. i mean... if you want to?"
@ˢ song mingi "yeah, you get to stay here," hosung murmured. while they sat, and mingi had squeezed his fingers, hosung began slowly lacing their fingers together. both of them possessed long fingers, and with them tied together like this there was something comforting about the sight. he didn't say anything about it, however, just sort of chuckled at just how many questions mingi remained capable of asking.
"well, if my phone weren't so close to dying, i'd say we could watch something," he said with a nonchalant shrug. it wasn't a suggestion that helped anything in the moment, but as they sat together on his bed, he tipped his head back to thump lightly against the wall, as if it might help his thinking. "what about playing heads up? if i can find some papers and a pen we can play."
@ᴴ kim hosung casting his glance away from hosung after a long moment, mingi looked around the room that was dimly lit by the flashlight atop the nightstand in front of them. it was a room much like his own, but something about it made him more comforted, the fact that he was on hosung's bed a big chunk of it. carefully, he gave hosung's fingers a gentle squeeze in his own, glancing down to their joined hands. he liked the sight of it, even if he didn't admit it out loud.
"so i get to stay here?" mingi asked, to no one's surprise, yet another question. when he looked over to hosung once more, his own expression was bright, eager to spend more time with him other than the few training sessions they had. it almost felt natural, just being like this with hosung. "i guess now we just have to find out something to do. sitting in the dark is boring, and i'm not tired enough to sleep yet."
@ˢ song mingi "guess we'll deal with that as it happens," hosung said with a shrug. the thought occurred to him, but he also reasoned that the power would be back on when someone got around to fixing it, and that someone wasn't him or his concern for any reason other than the fact that he would lose his phone before the night was through. he looked to mingi, unaware that the younger boy had been looking him over.
"nah, i'm not opposed. besides, this way i can keep an eye on you," lifting my shoulders in a shrug, the question of roommates makes me snicker softly. there's a part of me that wouldn't be surprised if everyone took advantage of the moment to be out after curfew, staying in dorm rooms that definitely weren't their own. he wasn't about to say all that to the other, though. "don't expect my roommates to come back. i mean they might, but i won't be surprised if they've got their own arrangements on the side tonight so long as the lights stay off."
@ᴴ kim hosung though he didn't look at hosung when he felt a pair of eyes on him, mingi hesitated and glanced up when he felt he was safe to look. he took the opportunity to glance over the older boy's features while his eyes were closed, admiring each and every dip and curve of his face. mingi hardly even realized that he was still holding hosung's hand, not until he glanced away and yet again felt his face heat up. he cleared his throat before speaking up, looking over at hosung once more, hand loose but still holding his.
"i guess that's true. what if it doesn't come on at all tonight, though?" there was clear worry laced in mingi's tone, and something like a pout weighed down the corners of his lips. as he looked over hosung, mingi felt himself getting a little lost in the older boy's features, even to the faint little smile on his lips. "would... you be opposed to me staying here for the night? i mean, if the lights don't come back. i hope your roommates will be okay with it - i mean, if it happens."
@ˢ song mingi "mingi-" hosung began, though he didn't finish the thought. he could say something about the fact that mingi's powers would end up only really affecting the two of them, and it would hardly be worth it, considering eventually the phone would die and the two of them would be stuck in a dorm room together, cut off from the rest of the outside world, and for no real benefit.
once the two of them got onto the bed, hosung pushed toward the back edge, placing his back against the wall while letting his own hand remain on mingi's. he glanced to the younger boy, a faint smile barely visible on his lips, then tipped his head back to rest against the wall while his eyes fell shut and a soft sigh left his lips. "it's fine. i mean as it is if my phone ends up dying it's not like they can really get mad at us if you're out past curfew while all the power is out and there's no working clock in this room. right?"
@ᴴ kim hosung "i dunno if i can do that, though.. won't it screw up everything else in the school?" mumbling quietly as he slid down from the bed, the sight of the flashlight was a sort of anchor in a moment like that. however, as the light came on, mingi knew he was going to be screwed, caught with a pretty pink blush on his cheeks. if anything, that realization made his face heat up more.
with his hand in hosung's, mingi swallowed and climbed back up on the bed once the flashlight was set up, illuminating the room in a soft light that gave them enough sight to generally know where things were. for a moment, he hesitated, wondering if he should let go of hosung's hand, but he found himself reluctant to. glancing up to the older of the two, he worried his lower lip between his teeth, glancing away after a moment. "is.. it okay if i stay here till the power comes back on?"
@ˢ song mingi "i mean it'll get us closer to when the lights come back on," hosung murmured, though it was clear he wasn't suggesting that they play with time in order to get the power back on. however, while looking around, he was unaware that mingi had found a flashlight even as he heard feet hit the floor. when the light clicked on he turned his head, coming face-to-face with mingi, the light illuminating both of them from below.
the pink on the younger boy's cheeks was the first thing to catch hosung's attention, and while he held the other's gaze he was slow to turn off the flashlight on his phone. stowing his phone into his pocket, hosung remained close, and in that moment whatever suspicions he had were made certain in his mind before he reached for mingi's hand, fingers curling around his, and giving his hand a little tug to bring him back toward the bed. "we can set it on the nightstand so we have some light. let's just... sit, okay?"
@ᴴ kim hosung "i guess that makes sense... messing with time can't really help the lack of light." mumbling quietly, mingi watched hosung as he dug around in the nightstand drawers. he hated how dark it was, but he also didn't want the older of the two to go through all the trouble to find something. the matches by themselves, followed by the flashlight batteries, earned a small groan.
after rolling his eyes, he opened them to see hosung looking at him, the light of his phone shining on his face and once again causing a little skip in his heartbeat. swallowing thickly, he was struck, but when he looked down in the drawer, he saw what he thought to be a flashlight. untucking his legs and sliding off the bed, mingi reached into the drawer and pulled it out, giving it a little shake before flicking it on, and light shone in the room before he looked up at hosung. once again, his face was so close to hosung's, and now with the light in the room, the dusting of pink on his cheeks was evident. "found - found it."
@ˢ song mingi while hosung searched through the drawer he managed to find a pack of matches in one drawer, though there were no candles. he found c cells for a flashlight in a package on a shelf, and yet there was no evidence of a flashlight. he brought both items back toward the bed, setting them within easy reach of the corner of the nightstand and continued on his way. "if either of us had different powers then might be a little easier."
a soft sigh left his lips, and for a brief moment hosung considered taking the matches with him and building a bonfire out in the quad, but he doubted anyone would take kindly to that later, not to mention the fact mingi probably wouldn't be too fond of being out there rather than in here. he began pulling out drawers of the one desk in the room, though each one seemed to prove a bigger disappointment. he turned to glance at mingi, the light casting on his face from below. "better if we have something. i swear there's a flashlight in here. besides, who knows when they'll get the power back on."
