Roleplaying Races

This is a street racing roleplay, so we'll have to roleplay a race at some point. Here are some guidelines for that.

Types of races: 

One-on-one: This is usually to settle a disagreement between racers or as a practice session between friends. One-on-one races do not have to be requested. You can hold a one-on-one race at any time and any track (with the track manager's permission, if you need it).

Requested: Track managers may request a race to be held at their own track, or a team or teams may request a race. These are between a handful of racers who wish to participate, and they have to be approved by the admins.

Sanctioned: These will usually take place at Vegas Velocity Racetrack and are scheduled events by the admins. The events are intended to be big and everyone who's anyone will be there to race, spectate, or support their team.

How the races play out:

One-on-one or Requested races may have their outcomes predisposed through an agreement between the role-players.

ALL Sanctioned races and all other races that are not predisposed will be determined through a dice roll between ALL racers before the race begins (at the prompting from "Start your engines!"). The race shall then be role-played according to the order of the dice rolls, with the largest quantity coming in first and the smallest quantity coming in last.

Ties may be settled either through the tied racers re-rolling at the start of the race, an agreement between the two or more role-players who rolled the tie, or an actual race tie which will be settled within the plot of the role-play (ie: with another tiebreaker race).

The winner or winners of a Sanctioned race will receive a payout in the form of a points increase.

Betting on the races:

All spectators who wish to bet on the race must do so before the dice roll.

If you lose a bet at a Sanctioned race, nothing will happen outside of what you roleplay with your character, but if you win a bet, we will increase your points by a variable margin. This will depend on how many people bet on the race and how much they wager.
