@park jungsoo ❜ ˡᵉᵉᵗᵉᵘᵏ Something about his statement, whether it was his tone, the words or his actions caused her to regard him once more with a somewhat doubtful expression. At the concept of the 'condition' she paused though and arched her eyebrow in a slightly inquisitive manner. Once she saw the card she actually couldn't help the flash of surprise that flashed across her face and she gave him a quick look as if questioning whether or not he was sure he wanted to part with the funds. Rather than outright asking or giving him the chance to retract it, she simply nodded and stepped quickly towards the counter with his request still fresh in her head.
'Vanilla latte.' she repeated in her head as she waited in the queue for her turn to order. The crisp card between her soft fingers felt somehow strange to her and for a moment she glanced at it to make sure that he had in fact offered to pay and that it wasn't like a subway card or something. Boa turned the plastic idly in her hands and read the name to herself, smiling a little as she recognized that he was on the level. 'Maybe he has changed a little bit.'
When her turn came, she ordered his first and then got a caramel macchiato for herself before paying with his card. She made sure to get the card back and tucked it into one of the inner pockets of her coat securely before closing it up again as she stepped to the side to receive the order. With little else to do, she glanced around the interior once more so that she could map her potential path to him wherever he had decided to sit.
@kwon boa ❜ the moment her smaller frame fell in against his chest, he brought his hands to her arms, catching her upper arms, his thumbs at her shoulders, if only to keep her from losing any more of her balance than she already had. this close he could smell familiarity in her perfume. when was the last time he had smelled it so strongly? it had to have been a sample, the spray delivered onto the wrist of some other woman beside him as he purchased his own favored blackberry and bay cologne, the scent atomized and taking him somewhere far from the illuminated glass case in the midst of the coex mall. he had to shake himself from that thought, though her reply was much more like the slap in the face he needed.
"i wouldn't miss it." he withdrew his hands from her, stowed the thin, short digits in the pockets of his coat, and glanced over his shoulder. "i'll grab the table on one condition-" he withdrew his hand from his pocket, pulled the rather plain leather wallet from his pocket and slid a single card out from the topmost slot with his thumb in a single motion. it could have looked practice, if not for the fact he rarely paid. "i'll have a vanilla latte, and you order whatever you want." he placed the card against her palm, told himself to ignore the brush of fingers, and turned away from her in search of a secluded enough table before she had the chance to refuse him.
@park jungsoo ❜ ˡᵉᵉᵗᵉᵘᵏ When she couldn't find him she was ready to turn around and leave without a second thought but as she turned to make her exit, he appeared. The smile on his face annoyed her for some reason as did his tone but as he drew closer she could feel her heartbeat quicken in her chest. Despite the aroma of coffee that hung heavily in the air she could smell him; his cologne or whatever body wash he had been using and it brought back some other memories which flashed through her mind before they were hastily repressed. A slight bit of color rose in her cheeks and her expression hardened somewhat as she forced herself to look up at him only to get bumped by another passerby. Despite any attempt to catch herself, she couldn't quite stop her momentum as she collided lightly with his chest.
"I've been here. Wasn't sure you'd make it." she replied somewhat more harshly than she meant, feeling a bit off-balance from his closeness. Almost just to assure herself that she could still breathe, she cleared and pulled her gaze away from Jungsoo to the counter. "I will order if you find us a spot to sit. What do you want to drink?"
@kwon boa ❜ jungsoo would have been at the cafe right when he promised, if not for his phone. he had been on his way out of his apartment, shimkoong already corralled in her carrier, when it buzzed deep within the pocket of his padded coat and vibrated against his thigh. he took the call, of course. kyuhyun was just about to go on stage, so he wouldn't have had the time to call later. jungsoo was still on the phone as he climbed into the car. for another five minutes after that he sat behind the wheel of the economy car he had bought sometime ago to replace the luxury car he had to sell. but in spite of being late to meet with her, he wouldn't speed. he wouldn't text. he wouldn't take his eyes off the road for fear of what might happen.
he had his phone in his hand as he walked through the front door of sum a little while later, prepared to text his younger senior with an apology for running late before he might see her. however, he stopped himself just short of bumping headlong into the woman stopped not far from the door. he didn't need to see her face to know who it was. the grin on his lips was self-satisfied as he trashed the message he had yet to send and stowed his phone in the pocket of the bulky coat. "i was wondering when you would get here." he joked as he rounded close to boa, avoiding a small group of patrons with his hands tucked in the pockets of his coat.
@park jungsoo ❜ ˡᵉᵉᵗᵉᵘᵏ Despite their earlier messages back and forth, Boa was still somewhat hesitant to get out of her comfortable pajamas to meet Jungsoo at the cafe and that delay caused her to be later than she would have liked. Now clad in a simple soft white sweater, jeans, and large jacket, Boa found herself pulling open the door with more than a little bit of reluctance. Her trepidation melted away slightly as she heard the small bell chiming her entrance and the warm air scented with coffee enveloped her and calmed her senses. Even if everything went poorly she would at least get a good cup of coffee out of it.
That concept consoled her as she took a few steps deeper into the interior and glanced around the moderately crowded area for her labelmate. Part of her hoped that maybe he was late too, that he bailed altogether or something came up yet again because deep down she knew she was looking forward to talking with him more than she was ready to admit. For a split-second she even considered leaving herself or just hiding in one of the private booths if she couldn't find him.
