He tossed his phone onto his bed and sighed, staring up at the smoke plumes wafting up toward the ceiling. Guess he'd see how this all plays out.

@Dagon "That sounds great. I'll call you later in the week for confirmation" She hung up the phone and went to bed happy.

@Briar Dagon swirled the thought around his mind. "I'll come by this weekend," he decided. "Saturday, if it works for you."

@Dagon "Any time is good for me, just tell me when and I'll set up the meeting." She paused, flipping flaming he'd hair over her shoulder. "And when I say anytime, I mean standard business house." She laughed. "Not almost midnight. But I am excited for you call."

@Briar "Is there any time that works best? I get off work at four." He needed another cigarette, and was already tapping one out of the box. "I don't have anything you can take from me, so I'm not to concerned about legalities, as long as I get paid. I'm sure you get the picture by now."

@Dagon Perfect. Excellent. Jared would be jealous. This was recruit number two. She was rocking this. "I need you to come to Mr. De Haven's office whenever you have time. Sign a few papers, chat it up with him. He'll arrange everything. I'll give you a contract to look over and you can come to me with any questions regarding legalities."

@Briar "I just wanted to tell you I'm in," he said shortly, brushing off every feeling that wasn't resolve. "So what do you need from me?" Time to discuss real business.

@Dagon "I wasn't expecting a call so soon, Mr. Sable." Briar smiled into the receiver of her iPhone. The redhead had barely gotten to her phone in time, she had been in the shower. The poor boy on the other line had no idea that the woman now lounged on her bed in her underwear. It was almost midnight. "But I do say it's very welcomed. Would you like to meet somewhere?"

@Briar He watched her leave before going back inside where he finally looked inside the envelope. If it was any indication of what kind of business this Briar woman meant... he would definitely be giving her a call.

Dagon sat on that thought all night until finally that evening around eleven he took her card off the table beside him and dialed the number.

@Dagon "I'm sorry. I'll remember that next time. Sorry to disturb you." She hesitated. The whole situation was a little odd, but Jared would be happy. If the guy was all about the money then he was most likely in. The redhead sent him a wave and then hopped back into her car.

@Briar He held the cigarette in his mouth while he stood to shake her hand. Might as well be courteous. "I'll think about it," he conceded, but before he let go of her hand, he held her still and bore his gaze into hers. "Don't show up here again though," he warned. "I'd rather meet elsewhere if you need to talk in person." Then he relinquished his hold on her."

@Dagon The redhead watched him, trying to figure him out. He almost seemed unreachable, but she was too determined for that conclusion. "As I mentioned, team racers have higher pay, receive more sponsors, resulting in again, more pay. Mr. De Haven works on a "you scratch, I scratch" mentality, and as long as you do your job he'll reward you where it's needed." She squeezed him arm, giving him a smile as if she were dropping down some guard. "He'll take good care of you, Dagon. Trust me." As reassurance, she slipped an envelope of cash in his lap along with a business card. "Think about it."

The redhead stood up with grace, brushing the dirt off her .

@Briar He raised an eyebrow at her and her folder. "You're right, none of that interests me." Dagon dug into his pocket for a cigarette and a lighter, and took the time to light it, inhale and blow out a thin stream of smoke into the air. "What's the payout?" Money's really all the matters.

@Dagon The air was hot and dry. Briar had to force herself not to pout when Dagon closed the door because if there was one thing she hated, it was to sweat. The redhead accepted it though, clearing as she took a step down and planted her on the steps. She would regret the dirt on her white shorts later.

"Take a seat." She motioned to him with a general gesture, opening up her folder and pulling out a few papers. "Mr. Jared De Haven and I are putting together a race team. Team racing is becoming quite the fad, not only does is give room for an increase in pay and sponsorships, but also a more likeliness for achievement. You'll have easier access to different vehicles and public exposure, and on a team, someone always has your back. I know I've heard before you've never been interested in any of that, but please. Mr. Sable," she smiled,re aching out to rest a friendly hand on Dagon's bicep. "Hear me out."

This wasn't the sort of visit he expected. "You're hear about racing?" He was admittedly caught off guard, but he came back down quickly. Glancing over his shoulder, he stepped outside onto the porch and closed the door. "We can talk out here." He crossed his arms and waited for whatever proposition she had in mind.

@Dagon Briar put up her most charming, red lipstick smile. "Hi there, my name is Briar McFarren. And you sir, are a very hard man to find. Mind if I come in and have a chat, Mr. Sable?" She flipped her ponytail off of her shoulder, doing a sweep of the male. He was handsome in that dark and brooding kind of way. "I'm here about a contract. You're quite the talk at the track, you know. I'm sure you'd be interested in hearing what I have to say. That's all, no I'll intentions. Just a talk."

@Briar Visitors were rare and seldom welcome. Guard up, Dagon strode to the door and cracked it open, scrutinizing the woman on his porch. Judging by her attire and the business-like posture (and the mid-size in his driveway), she was probably a debt collector or working for the city. He made sure to block any view of his dimly lit living room, leaning against the doorframe and fixing her with an expectant look.

@Dagon Briar drove down through neighborhood after neighborhood. What was up with this guy? Dagon Sable. No one hardly knew anything about him except that he was good. And of course, that's all the redhead cared about. But he was so damn hard to find. It was a miracle she was able to get his address from someone, but she was having trouble finding- Ah, there it was.

The redhead made sure to lock her luxury compact SUV, sending a weary glance around the neighborhood. Her dress was casual, a black blazer, the sleeves rolled up to reveal white underneath, a white low scoop neck shirt, and some white shorts. She wanted Dagon to be able to be comfortable, since he was quit the anti-social from what she gathered. Hair pulled back, she adjusted the tie and knocked on the door, folder in hand. She cleared , waiting. "Mr. Sable?"

Dagon sighed as he took a long drag of his cigarette before tossing it into the dry patch of brush beneath his window. If he was lucky, the whole place might catch on fire and burn to the ground. He didn't wait to see the smoke before stepping inside.
