@[SH] Im Yoona "As always, you doubt yourself too much. You're a bestselling author! Anything less than this would be unacceptable." It's compliment after compliment, but Jessica can't help gushing due to the admiration she held for her friend. "Did you hear? Season 7's coming up. How do you feel?"
@Jessica Oh Yoona accepted the flute, closing her eyes and taking a breath. "Yes, its ok." Yoona nodded, and smiled as she and Jess walked into the party. "Thank you, I still can't believe it. This was such a huge release. I'm still in shock after all this time." She chuckles softly, turning to sip her champagne and smile as she passed other authors.
@[SH] Im Yoona She grabs two flutes, one for herself and one for Yoona, and swirls them slightly before handing one over to her friend. "Deep breaths, Yoona." Jessica reminds before she takes one as well as if to demonstrate. "This turn-out is incredible. All for you, doll." The venue is packed in full, and everyone is gushing about her friend's writing, and a sense of pride swells within her. "Congratulations."
@Jessica Oh Yoona held Jessica's hand tight, her nerves tingling as she looked in at the party. She was grateful for the presence of her friend, she wasn't the best at these sort of things. But she wasn't alone, she could do this. It was alright. "Okay, okay, its fine." Yoona mumbled to herself and put on her best smile as a waiter offered them champagne flutes.
@Im Jinah Yoona stood as Jinah grew closer, and her smile took over. She was so enthused to see her again, Jinah was as pretty as ever. Yoona smoothed her dress as she accepted the drink and pulled the other into a hug. "Thank you, love. It's great to see you, how have you been?" Yoona asked, sipping her drink as she leaned on the desk she'd been sat at.
@[SH] Im Yoona As they head into the hotel together and make their way up to the venue of the afterparty, Jessica doesn't let go of her friend's hand. She knows how big of an event this is for Yoona, but also how introverted the author can be, so she hopes this physical support will comfort her before they're thrown into the hustle and bustle of networking and booze. "You got this, Yoona. Come on."
@[SH] Im Yoona With the crowd slowly dissipating, her orbs gently grazed towards the line leading to the angel comfortably settled by the end of the room. Her rose-colored tiers curve into a sweet smile as she returns the wave, walking closer to where the female was. Her heart skips a beat upon taking Yoona’s features in, not believing how familiar she looked in the flesh. Why did she resemble her adoptive mother? Strange enough, she manages to push the thought away, focusing on the celebratory milestone laid in front of her. “Congratulations, sweetheart! Here’s a cup of your iced Americano for all your hard work.”
@Jessica Oh "Girl gang," Yoona laughed. Taking Jessica's hand, Yoona stepped out of the limo, smoothing her dress and sighing in the wet air. "You make a good point, I suppose my thoughts were unfounded." Staring up at the Hotel, Yoona felt a shiver of anxiety but smiled, holding Jess's hand tightly. "As ready as I'll ever be."
@[SH] Im Yoona "Busy? I'll always find time for my girl gang." Jessica reassures her friend, opening the door and stepping out of the limousine before straightening out her dress. "Besides, do you really think I'd just let you wear some random dress when your best friend is literally a fashion designer? I'll make your dreams come true, babe." She offers her hand to Yoona, pulling the author out of the car before she takes in the luxurious hotel in front of them. "Ready?"
@Jessica Oh "Oh...oh maybe?" Yoona laughed embarrassedly. With a brush of her hair, she looked back at Jessica, a smile on her lips as the car starts to slow. Yoona laughs at her honor, and can only chuckle. "Oh, no no, but i thought you might be busy." Yoona smiled, nodding. "Okay then, and we're here." Yoona peered out at the grand hotel where the party was. "Here we go, time to mingle."
@[SH] Im Yoona "Oh yes. End it off with a bang, babe!" Jessica has a wide grin on her face, trying her best to encourage her friend to make her mark in the literary world. The fashion designer can only laugh at Yoona's comment, putting a hand over her heart. "I'm honored, truly," she says in what she hopes is a posh accent before she chuckles at herself. "Still? Was there ever a change of plans, miss? Of course I will! Heck's sake, I just released a wedding line. You know that."
@Jessica Oh "A speech, oh--oh no." Yoona felt her chest go warm, a smile on her lips. She laughed lightly, shaking her head. "Oh yes, they usually just talk books and drink champagne." She nodded, looking to her friend again as the rain started to clatter on the roof of the car. "Your my closest friend, of course I'd bring the boss Jess to my afterparty!" Yoona teased, nudging the other. "Maybe you can still design my wedding dress?"
@[SH] Im Yoona "But this time the afterparty's for you! I expect to hear a speech from you, you know?" Jessica teases her friend, playfully nudging the other's elbow with her own. "I've never been to an afterparty for book launches, though, so this will be new. I'm sure it'll be a great experience given how many literary geniuses will be there." She purposely looks at Yoona when she says 'literary geniuses,' another subtle compliment for her close friend. "Thanks for taking me as your plus one. I'd take you to a collection release, but I know that's not your scene."
@Im Jinah Yoona was sat behind a desk, the line of people wanting signatures lining up across the room. She greeted every person with a smile, a friendly hello, a little moment of personal time for each person. She tried to make everyone feel special, ti give them a smile or compliment. Than as the line started to dwindle, she saw a familiar face at the end. It was Jinah, a friend from the show, and she was eagerly waiting her arrival. Yoona smiled and waved as the last few people left the line.
@Jessica Oh Yoona looked at Jess, folding her hands in her lap as the car started the drive to the after party. "That sounds boring." Yoona chuckled. "I understand that though, I usually don't talk much at these parties." Yoona smiled, nodding as she buckled in and met her friends gaze. "Of course, there will be other authors there. It should be interesting."
@Im Yoona For some reason, Jinah was a little too excited for the event she was attending. Now don't get her wrong, book launches definitely claimed the throne in the list of events she'd constantly immerse herself with—but knowing that it was Yoona hosting the gathering, a sense of familiarity was budding within her core. Stopping by the entrance, Jinah curtly greets the security guard with a smile, "I'm here for Im Yoona's book launch," she states as her orbs survey through the guest list—pointing to right where her name is before she was allowed to enter the library.
@Im Yoona "Yup," Jessica answers with a nod, emphasizing the "p" sound as she matches her friend's pace. "It's pretty boring. All we talk about are stocks. Sometimes industry trends if I'm lucky. They mainly just want me to sit there and look pretty." She explains, sliding into the backseat and buckling her seatbelt on. "But at least I'll have a friend here, right?"
@Jessica Oh "You're the best." Yoona smiled, tucking hair behind her ear. She smiled at the nuzzle, beaming brighter as she picked up her purse. "You're always at parties as a ceo aren't you?" Yoona said, nodding. "There's a car outside, come along." Yoona led them through the library to the car, sliding into the backseat and waiting for Jess to follow.
@Im Yoona "Of course I came! What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't?" She asks with a chuckle, nuzzling their cheeks together during the brief embrace. "Sounds just like my scene," Jessica comments, making a joke in reference to all the networking she has to do for her company. "Lead the way! We can catch up at the party."
@Jessica Oh Yoona smiled downcast, a wave of pride in her chest as she heard her friends words. "Thank you, Jess. I'm really glad you came." Yoona reached out to hug her friend, still smiling as she pulled back and sighed happily. "Shall we head to the after party? I can bring who ever I like. It's mainly just a lot of standing and champagne." Yoona laughed, clasping her hands.
@Im Yoona "Too much smiles? I don't think you could ever have too many smiles," Jessica answers, standing up from her own seat before she puts her hand on the author's shoulder and gives it a reassuring squeeze. "Have some more confidence in yourself, bub. You did great. I was starstruck the entire time." She says with a wink, hoping that it can give her friend some comfort. "How do you feel?"
@Jessica Oh Yoona noticed her friend, every time she glanced her way she saw sweet words of hope on her lips. Yoona went one by one, taking questions and answering and signing as every person passed by the desk. When it was finally over and the crowd had faded, Yoona walked to Jessica and smiled as she took in everything that had just occured. "So, how'd I do? Too much smiles?" Yoona asked, meeting Jessica's gaze.
@Im Yoona Normally, Jessica was never one to sit at the front since she didn’t like the attention. She would probably never get used to it despite how big her company had grown. But today was a rare exception, because today was the day her beloved friend would finally be releasing her book. She, of all people, knew just how much effort Yoona had put into her craft and could not be prouder to sit directly in the front. When the author finally made the entrance, the fashion designer immediately stood up and clapped to show her support. All throughout the signing event, Jessica could only beam as she mouthed encouraging words in hopes that would help her friend relax more in front of the audience.
@Jessica Oh Yoona smoothed her hands down her dress, closing her eyes. She was stood in the back room while the seats filled up. It was the last book, five years of work culminating into this. She was beyond nervous, but so excited. More than anything she knew her best friend was going to be sat up front.
"This way, Ms. Im." Said the Liberian, opening the door to the room.
Yoona walked out, and immediately the claps eased her mind. She smiled and sat down in front, taking a mic and smiling to the crowd. "Hello everyone! Thank you for coming!" Yoona laughed, her eyes crescent moons. "I'll be taking some questions, anybody care to ask?"
