Veiled in grey, a figure knelt before the statue of Arylis. The room was lined with lit candles, with no other expanse of light, making time seem as still as the air, which only breathed through one entity (the only one seemingly in the space). The human princess. It had been 20 minutes and she had barely moved from her position, eyes closed though no one, not even the statue, could see. She could see. Arylis himself knew. She had disciplined herself to do 30 minutes in the morning and an hour (or longer) in the evening of prayer and worship. Though her knees and shins hurt and muscles burned from the lack of movement, it was the smallest price she could pay compared to the price of the hybrids who’s blood was spilt for everyone else’s prosperity, including and especially hers. It was the least she could do. And so she did, speaking in her tongue and ancient tongue within the colloms of her mind. She was not to be disturbed unless it was an emergency…the staff and the royals knew of that request.
