@α Park Seonghwa Sweat beaded Felix's brow as he brought the axe down a final time. Each blow sent a ripple through his body, the effort between it all undeniable. He was no hunter - he admired the art, how members of his pack could run with such speed and grace, in touch with the blessing that nature had given them. He didn't have the same grace, he could barely outrun a lot of his packmates, let alone take down a deer. He admired them from afar - that element of life didn't have to be for him. He provided for them in his own way; bringing wood for building, for their fires in the thick of the winter, to keep everyone warm and at peace when their stomachs were filled.

Wiping his brow with a loose sleeve, he drew himself up straight, a flask of cool water in hand to drink from, the freshness bringing some life back to his tired limbs. The setting sun had bathed the clearing in a warm glow - he should probably head back soon, right? Maybe just a little more, and then he would. He still had work to get done, the others could go back and he could wait a while, to avoid holding anyone up- he looked up, surprised, jerked from his thoughts of schemes to keep working by a familiar voice. He smiled at the other alpha, the expression brightening even more at the sight of his haul. "It looks like you did well. I hope everything went smoothly for you." The suggestion was a welcome one- had his stomach been rumbling that much for a while now? Maybe Seonghwa's arrival was a little bit of a hint from the world that he needed a break. He stepped away just briefly, to gather some much smaller pieces of wood, small enough not to smother the fire when it had been brought to life. Along with it, he gathered some rocks to begin making a tight ring. "I don't mind at all- it would be lovely, actually. It's been a long day."

Fingers stained in the copper of the doe he had taken down just that morning within the northern forest, Seonghwa dipped his hands into the cooling stream to wash away the gore that lingered and soaked into his fingers and lips. Wiping his lips clean with the crystalline waters of the stream, Seonghwa's eyes trailed over to glance at the doe he had just managed to run down. Silent, and in thought, Seonghwa reached out to run his fingers over the doe's velvet fur--his free hand reaching for the knife by his side. Her eyes were still open. Breath and life were still evident within her body as Seonghwa leaned in, whispering a quiet prayer of gratitude to the doe, Seonghwa closed his eyes as he had done so many times before he sunk the metal of the blade into the doe's chest and into her heart. Her breath stilled, slow, strong breaths that fell into wisps until finally-- there was none at all.

Silent, Seonghwa cleaned and gutted the doe. Carefully, he carved out the flesh from her bones before he finally settled and tossed a few pieces of meat for the crows that had gathered around. It was only when Seonghwa looked up at the sun did he realize how the time had passed and hovered over the horizon. wrapping and tying blades of grass around the pieces of meat he had oh so carefully carved out, Seonghwa slipped his clothes back on and over his body before he began making his way to the western side of the forest.

Enveloped in the golden light of the setting sun, Seonghwa's lips pulled into a smile. Greeting the various other lumbermen hacking away at the trees, Seonghwa finally approached the younger alpha situated within the furthest corner from his crew. "Felix." The older alpha called, holding up the bundles of deer meat. "Mind if I get a fire going?"
