@α Choi Seunghyun At last, a sweet moment to relax was granted, a rare privilege. He’d worked had today, he’d earned this. After retrieving a fresh joint of meat, he’d settled down to start a fire. The ring of stones constructed, in no time a pretty little flame sparked, coiling tendrils of light around the small pile of tinder, a dance of graceful destructive power that he helped grow. He smiled to himself, content. What better way to end a long day than a warm meal beside a dancing fire? Truly, a blessing from the Gods. He thanked them quietly for his good fortune as he unwrapped the joint of meat, dragging the knife at his side into one hand to divide it into reasonable pieces. He’d picked something he could eat alone, but, well- he was hungry- he didn’t want it to take longer, cooking in one large chunk. Satisfied, each smaller piece landed on the grate, beside it, a pot filled with a broth and vegetables right at its side. Kujo sighed, at peace as he fed the flames.
It took no time for a wonderful scent, a bubble and a sizzle to envelop his little campsite, a sure sign that good food was to follow. Then, Kujo froze. He glanced around - that hadn’t been something out of the corner of his eye, had it? He wasn’t really one for visitors, he hadn’t befriended many in this strange pack, so who could be bothering him? No, that was footsteps, a gentle patter of them. He definitely wasn’t alone. His eyes narrowed, and he waved the pair of metal tongs in his hand forward like a weapon towards the source of the sound. “You there! What do you want?”
