@Jimin Jimin's words always got to Taemin. No matter how often his best friend made him aware of just what he could do for him though, Taemin felt guilty at just the thought of letting himself indulge in it. He closed his eyes, for now, unable to look at the other. Some piece of his heart had broken a little as he thought too deeply and delved into the idea that Jimin would quickly grow to hate him if he let the other spoil him. Taemin had never made had a want for much. He was more than thankful just to have a safe enough place to stay when it came to time to rest his head and the studio that Jimin made sure stayed in tip-top shape. He was always scared of allowing himself to really have anything that he wanted, even for a split second, not wanting it to end up slipping through his fingers like sand.
He almost teared up with how highly Jimin thought of him. Of course, he put his best friend first but, at the same time, Jimin was saying how he really felt and saw him. His chest felt warm and he did his best to keep his composure. Finally opening his eyes again and sitting up a bit, Taemin was looking at Jimin again, "I'd hope so..." He shrugged his shoulders a little, still not letting go of the other, "I feel like it'd be really happy if we were really soulmates. We did find each other in a... not so normal way but I'm glad we had a connection. That we still do. We're definitely bound somehow."
@Taemin "Spoil you... obviously" Even if it was a pointless conversation, Jimin was more than ready to have it once again. It seemed silly to him and Taemin thought he wouldn't be able to get Taemin everything he wanted, that he couldn't 'keep up' with his needs and desires. Apart from his apartment and the dance studio that he kept as maintained as he could for Taemin there was nothing else he needed to pay for really. The company took control of most everything in his life. "Trust me... I could afford to look after you Taem... you're allowed to ask for help, If you don't ask I will just start assuming and buying you things I think you might need or want." It has taken so much time for Jimin to accept that he couldn't just whisk Taemin away and give him the life Jimin wanted to give him, he had to accept that Taemin was where he was, and hopefully very aware that at any point he could request any kind of aid.
"Who else was I going to think of Minnie? You literally help me more with my choreo than my choreographer does... There is no one I want more working with me on something you know I am passionate about. And if they are your crew... How could I not want them. You're the best voice for them. If you trust them then I trust them." Jimin shrugged as much as he could with Taemin attached to him, there was no way he was going to pass up this opportunity. "We might have, I don't know how past lives work... you think we could have known one another? Maybe we are soulmates in a way... We found one another in a strange way and we've clicked ever since... We have some kind of connection right?"
@Jimin "What would you do if I did accept all the spoiling? Do you really think you could keep up," Taemin teased. It was nice and he was extremely appreciative that after all of these years, even after learning the truth, Jimin was still so willing to go above and beyond for him. At the same time, he knew better than to let himself get swept up in the nice things his best friend could do for him. Jimin meant so much more to him than that and he didn't want to chance anything that could get in the way of that. He couldn't even do for Jimin what the superstar could do for him, which was part of the reason he would drop everything as soon as he could and run to Jimin whenever he needed him.
He liked what they had and the fact that they always had each other. Thick and thin, good and bad.
"You're an angel outside of giving me work. You still thought of me and my crew and that means more than you know," Taemin cheesed and kept hold of Jimin. He didn't want to let him go now. "Thank you," he repeated, unable to help himself. He took in a deep breath and just stared at Jimin, "What did I do to deserve someone like you? I really had to have been amazing in my past life or something. Maybe we knew each other in a past life!" He nodded firmly and latched onto Jimin, just holding him and resting against him. His heart and head were thrumming with all sorts of feelings. He felt like he was on cloud nine.
@Taemin "Getting you a new phone would have taken me seconds. What's the use of my money if I can't spoil my bestfriend." Jimin retorted, huffing a little childishly as he normally did through the argument. At least with hiring Taemin there was no way for his friend to ignore payment. He'd make sure of it.
"I'm an angel? For giving you work?" The idol chuckled before nodding slightly* "I know you'll do amazing, you always do" keep my tone and attention as casual as I can, forcing my mind not to think about the actual words of your comment. "It's going to be hard, but everyone will be paid... if you guys want to tour mostly everything will be taken care of, including flying, accommodation and food. if anyone wants information they can ask me"
@Jimin "We're not going to pretend that you don't have more important things to worry about. Getting me a new phone isn't at the top of the list and it's nothing you need to worry about since it's all sorted out," Taemin smiled, feeling pretty proud that he did manage to get one on his own. He wouldn't have necessarily felt bad about asking Jimin for help, had he really needed to do so, but he just didn't feel it was fair. Jimin had spent a lot of blood, sweat and tears over the years, pouring all of himself into his career. It just didn't feel right to Taemin to ask for any of that, no matter how often his best friend offered and how willing he was to help in any and all ways.
Taemin didn't let go of him. He couldn't and he didn't want to either. He couldn't help it anymore and a few tears had actually begun to escape. "I'll make sure that we make you proud, okay? We won't let you down. Anything you need, I'll do my best to make it happen so that you have an amazing tour," he nodded a few times and practically threw himself onto the other again. "I could really kiss you right now but I'm trying to behave myself," Taemin chuckled and just latched onto his best friend, closing his eyes and nuzzling him, "You really are the best. You're an angel in my life and you always have been. I don't know what I would've done without you all these years."
@Taemin "You could have asked me, I would have helped" Jimin shook his head even though he knew Taemin wouldn't accept it for no reason, it was a conversation they had had many times before. The number of times that Jimin had offered to give money only for it to be turned down. He'd needed to find sneaky ways to give Taemin gifts. A phone would have been no different. Jimin couldn't dwell on buying gifts for long as he was instantly distracted by Taemin resting against him once more. Where their skin met felt warm to touch, it almost burnt if he focused on it. feeling his hair lightly brushing against his cheek... so close. It took everything in him not to turn and breathe in the scent that was so comforting he him.
Shaken from his inner struggles, Jimin blinked open his eyes when Taemin moved and looked up at him instantly falling for the sheer joy on his face. He let out a soft chuckle as Taemin hugged him only to choke on the sound when he felt the peppering of kisses over his face. "Tae!" He could feel the burning in his cheeks, sure his face was bright red he didn't know whether to push his friend away or pull him closer. "Who else was I supposed to ask?" He questioned, once he was sure he could, "You're the only person I trust. You've helped me with basically every comeback. You're the person I want making sure I have the best tour possible."
@Jimin Jimin was doing it again with the staring but Taemin just smiled at him and shook his head. "I had to save up a lot. These things are expensive," he chuckled and draped an arm over Jimin's torso, returning his head to his shoulder. This was by far one of the places that Taemin felt the safest. His best friend had been there for him through so much and was still there for him, supporting him and his dreams, whatever those dreams were. He was still figuring them out but at least he had someone rooting for him all the same.
"It'd be nice if it did at least so everyone doesn't feel so on edge anymore," he added before meeting the other's gaze. He had to sit up again, staring down at the other in awe. Taemin was speechless. "You're really asking me to do all that... I-I mean, to even go on tour with you and all," his face was a mix of emotions. He actually even felt like crying. "You really want me and my crew to work with you," he paused, "You don't know how much that'd mean to us, how much it means to me. I'll let the band know things but I'd love to work with you. That's not even a question." Taemin finally relaxed enough to smile and immediately latched onto Jimin, hugging him tightly. He even gave in and began kissing all over his face, "This means so much, even you just thinking about it. Thank you!"
@Taemin That little laugh, a soft chuckle that immediatly dragged Jimin back to the past, back to school. Such carefree days where he too could laugh over something he percieved or witnessed that few other souls seemed to. And abour all those memories of his own joy were Taehee's. Just like now, the soft sound of her laugh breaking through his thoughts often made Jimin's heart skip a beat, his cheeks dusting a pale pink as he feared he'd been Caught, much like he feared in this moment. How long had he spent remembering the past before he'd answered, and now he was doing it again. Taemin was half sitting now, lips moving as he clearly spoke, but Jimin was transfixed once more, just watching the others face. God he needed sleep, cr a nest. He had no control over his mind right now.
"About time you got a better phone" he heard himself responding silently thankful that at least a fragment of his mind was functioning. Jimin was far to focused on just how close they were. a slight shift and Jimin ran the risk of headbutting his bestfriend, something he doubted would be desired by either party. Yet, here they were, and Taemin just looked so damn comfortable there to. Made sense, Jimin was the only one with a crush. He cleared his throat a little and nodding, "people coming back can be difficult, I hope if cools down"
He offered a smile before finally adjusting his gaze off his friend. It was casual, a shift to directly above him before closing. Taemin knew he was exhausted, this usual respite wouldn't look too abnormal. "You always say that, but you have to think of your own career too, You can't always run to me when I'm struggling in mine." He pecked open one eye glancing at his friend. "but I could use your help, and... before helping me... I wanna ask you something crazy, and you can take your time thinking about it... and talking to your team, and band. But I want to hire you. Specifically you to cheorgraph my next tour, and you and your team to... well do the tour with me. I understand you have your band, and you probably won't be able to tour... and that's fine, but... I wasn't going to not ask when I'm asking for the rest of your crew. So, think about it... the cheo graphing thing atleast."
@Jimin He raised a brow with just how long it had taken Jimin to respond to him, wondering if the other even realized how long he'd actually zoned out. Taemin chuckled when Jimin seemed to finally come back. He was tempted to ask just what the other had been thinking moments prior but didn't. Shifting and resting his head on Jimin's shoulder, he smiled at first but then ended up sitting up a little. "You're my best friend. You'd never be a bother. If you need me, I'll be here as soon as I can. I also have a better, well, slightly better phone now. You can even video call me now," he piped up with a bright smile.
In the beginning, before they'd become close, Taemin had been excited for the opportunity for the school. He knew he didn't have any friends on this side of the tracks. He knew no one in the West. It had been in his favor that no one knew him because he could build a whole life for himself. At the same time though, it had been just as lonely and quiet then for the same reason. Taemin couldn't help having been worried back then that spending time with anyone could get him found out and thrown out of the school. That anyone could just ruin his chances at bettering himself and having new opportunities. It was not just lonely but terrifying. One slip up and he could have lost everything. He'd felt bad at first for having had to lie to Jimin for so long but there was no way he could have been sure while they were still in school that Jimin wouldn't have done something, even unintentionally, that would cost it all for him. Taemin doubted Jimin would have ever done anything on purpose but it was still dangerous.
He was thankful though that he could still be here with Jimin, unconsciously smiling at him when the other looked at him again, paying no mind at first to how close they were. He ended up blinking a few times and managed a slight shrug with the way he was laying, "I guess you can say an old friend showed up, an ex-band member. I'm glad you called because it gave me a window to get out of there... He's not... too bad of a guy but the way everyone was acting was... It was all just so tense. Besides, you know I'm rushing to see you the first chance that I get."
@Taemin Jimin smiled at the familiar weight and warmth from his friend as Taemin had draped himself over his form. It was nice to have physical contact that wasn't frightening. Jimin wasn't afraid Taemin would do anything to him he didn't kind of want, nor did he fear kidnap, injury or his items being stolen, Taemin was just comfort. Even when Themin was pretending to be a girl Jimin had felt so very safe a comfortable with him, he'd never questioned anything. It had been one of the many reasons Jimin had fallen for Taehee. He'd never admitted his crush, and even now he'd never dare cross that path and tell Taemin the truth. How was he supposed to tell his best friend that he'd had a crush on his female persona, and even now thought of her sometimes. The thoughts always quickly morphed in Taemin himself resulting in Jimin questioning his whole life when his body reacted positively to the lewd thoughts he sometimes suffered. Another bridge he did not wish to cross.
Jimin was sure he was attracted to females. Their slender frames, long hair, large eyes, soft full lips, he could admire the feminine form all day. Yet laying here, head still turned to face his best friend he couldn't think of a single thing that a women could do that Taemin couldn't do better. He couldn't ignore how much he longed to test his theories, to live out his far to frequent dreams, to finally be honest with himself. He wasn't attracted to women, he was attracted to his best friend.
Clearing his throat, and mind, Jimin offered a nod to Taemin, turning to focus his attention on the ceiling. "Yeah, this comeback is taking up so much time and effort" he started, letting out another sigh as he realised how much busier he would be while promoting. If he was lucky he may be able to visit his friend again in 2 or 3 months. Neither sounded great, and there was talks of touring after that as well. "I've been missing you as well, trust me. I could have used your skills weeks ago, but I knew you'd be busy with the band, so I didn't want to bother you with my pointless problems" He added, turning back to Taemin with a smile, trying to keep the mood light. "What's going on that you're so free tonight. and quickly to. I was expecting a message tomorrow honestly."
@Jimin Taemin had his eyes closed, having drifted off. He'd eaten before he'd come over and had a nice workout to get there. On top of that, he was just in his zone when he was in the studio. Music really did soothe the savage beast. For a moment, he thought he'd been hearing things when he heard the initial "hey" that came from Jimin. A smile of relief and joy that made his eyes sparkle reached his lips upon seeing Jimin. He rolled a bit, enough to drape himself over his celebrity best friend. "I didn't wait too long, I don't think. Either way, it's fine. I'm just glad you're here. I'm glad you got here safely. I missed you."
@Taemin It didn't take all that long before Jimin saw the building, instantly feeling safer knowing that he would be within its walls soon enough. Where he could quickly forget about everything outside of that space and just enjoy being Park Jimin with his best friend. It was always relaxing to be with someone who really knew who he was, even if that meant plenty of conversations about his health and how much he was eating and all of that. He knew Taemin cared, and it was just nice having someone talking about it who actually cared for him as a person, not fans debating whether he'd added more weight since his last live. As much as Jimin wanted to spend most of his time responding to his fans online, he was rarely allowed such a thing when Yoongi was aware of the state he could easily be put into from one statement or another.
He slipped into the building and closed the door behind him, taking a moment to actually relax before heading in further finding the right room and heading in, dropping his stuff on the floor before moving over to just lay beside Taemin, a soft, relaxed smile crossing his features as he did so. "Hey" He muttered, turning his head to the side to smile as his friend. "How long did you have to wait? I didn't take too long did I?"
@Jimin Taemin knew that Jimin meant well. It wasn't wrong to assume that Taemin just didn't have the funds that his best friend had. It wasn't as though it was some strange occurrence with someone living on his side of the tracks. That being said, Jimin was still incredibly important to him and always would be. Whether or not he had the money to do it, he would want to give something to someone that's always been as kind to him as Jimin has, even more so after finding out the truth about him. He didn't bother sending a message back, at least he wasn't going to.
'Get here safely. See you soon.'
That was all that he sent as he closed his eyes yet again. When it came to the band, he was beyond thankful for them. On the other hand, Jimin was someone that had been a part of his life way before them. Maybe that was why the group didn't question him putting Jimin first all the time, at least if he could help it and their schedule permitted it. He was reasonable at least. Besides, it wasn't all that easy to go see Jimin, even just to catch one of his performances. He got enough to get by, and that was saying a lot. To really travel or just enjoy things though wasn't something he could manage financially. Even though it was something he'd come to accept, it still hurt that he couldn't take care of those that he cared about.
Sighing and clearing his head, he some music and turned it up quite a bit, just letting himself feel the music as he cleared his mind that way.
@Taemin Jimin eyed the message he got in reply and shook his head almost immediately. There was nothing about it that he liked the idea of at all. Taemin was no where near as well off as he was, and he certainly needed the money more than Jimin did, if the other ever offered to buy him anything he'd just feel guilty about the whole thing. He supported Taemin's band as much as he could, paid for the upkeep of the dance studio, including all of its bills, he didn't need Taemin to go spoiling him.
'Spending time with me is spoiling me, and we are both busy, so I take it when we can. Should be there soon.'
He sent the reply, a small smile playing on his features before he turned his attention back to what he was doing and where he was walking. He was across the river now, he needed to pay a little attention, you didn't want to run into anyone by accident, literally or otherwise. At least he knew it was probably 5 minutes from the building and the safety that it held.
@Jimin Taemin eyed the message and sighed heavily. He wasn’t dumb, not entirely, but he surely played the role more often than not when it came to Jimin. It was hard more often than not, trying to decide what would be better friend behavior at any given moment. Whether lecturing his mate about taking better care of himself would do it or to just let him be some days and not question it. Even when they were in high school, Taemin had those moments. Jimin has always been his best friend, at least it felt like it had always been that way between them. That was why he worried over the other often, even when he wasn’t showing it. His band dads could usually tell when his mind was preoccupied. It just seemed that the band was full of people that either had someone else to worry about or they were the friend everyone had to worry about. He ruffled his hair in frustration and then typed out his reply.
‘At some point, I’ll be able to spoil you, too. If you’d actually let me.’
He got his keys out as he finally reached the building and headed inside, going to the room and turning on the lights. Coming back always brought back memories he was never really ready for. A lot of their dance crew’s stories were laced in the walls, things they talked to each other about and kept quiet like a brotherhood. He laid on the floor and closed his eyes, head resting on his bag while his phone played music.
@Taemin Jimin wasn't all that surprised to get a message back, it was somewhat common that if they could message while he travelled over they would. Mostly it was incase Jimin got caught by managers or fans and ended up unable to join or held up a moment, but Jimin wouldn't admit it helped a little to know someone at least had some idea of how far he was from things, and where he was at. He always made it a habit to say when he had crossed over. He had to laugh at the message though. Of course Taemin was worried about him, and he was about to make it a whole lot worse. But he loved the 'Band dad 1' He couldn't keep up with who was 1 and 2 but he understood all the same.
'No, don't worry yourself. You know I need to be careful what I eat anyway. Just making sure you ate something, you know I like to spoil you'
He was sure that Taemin would know the truth. Food was the last thing on his mind a lot of the time these days, most days. He'd always had trouble with his own mental image of his body, most of the time he could beat down that voice in his head, but comeback time... there wasn't enough time to worry about whether he'd consumed food, and he could watch what he was eating, so he just... didn't eat. It was easier, much easier on everyone involved, mainly himself. He was good at hiding it from managers, his family, pretty much everyone, but he knew they all knew well that he wasn't eating anywhere near what he should be. He just hoped he could convince Taemin for long enough that he'd eat soon, or was eating... one or both would be good.
@Jimin Taemin wasn't the best with directions but, for some reason, whenever it came to getting to the studio, he always seemed able to find his way. He took his time though, not surprised by Jimin's message. It did take a bit of traveling enough as it was but even more so coming from the other side of the tracks.
'It's okay. I'll be waiting for you. Band dad 1 made some food... I should have brought you some! I'm sorry!'
Now, he was beating himself up inside. He was so quick to dip out that he didn't even think to grab a plate for Jimin on the way. Knowing how his best friend was, Jimin never ate right around comeback season. Taemin could remember. Jimin was the type to work and then overwork himself and sometimes that meant that he had to sacrifice other things. It wasn't always a meal but it tended to be the easiest thing to skip on some days.
@Taemin Jimin scrunched his face up at the reply that he got but smiled all the same. It was going to take him some time to get over there, the only saving grace he really had was time. It was late enough that he could almost easily walk through the streets. He sent a quick message to his brother so he knew that he was alive at least before leaving his stuff at the dance studio, pulling on a mask, and his hood and stepping out into the night air. Jimin loved the night, it was his escape, a time he rarely had to be Jimin and could have some semblance of normalcy in his life. Taking a little bit of time, and to not look super suspicious running away from the company Jimin set out in a walk, deciding to send a reply now.
'I'm on my way, It will take me a bit. Thanks for coming to see me. Did you eat already?'
He smiled to himself re-reading the message a few times before turning his attention back to where he was walking, waiting until he was a decent distance away before starting to jog in the direction, his body already unhappy with his movements and how much he had been pushing them, but still they worked for him and continued to carry him to meet his friend.
@Jimin 'If I don't take care of you when you can be here, who will you go to when you do have free time? I'll meet you there.'
Taemin's message was quick and he finished his food before quietly getting up and slipping away from the others. Jungkook noticed but they both just smiled at each other. Everyone was in an odd position at this point. There were so many layers to everything going on that it just felt tiring to try and process it all. He made sure to stop by the van, having his own key, and grabbing out his backpack. It had his essentials in it, just toiletries and backup clothes. He always kept at least one or two outfits in his bag, especially when they had a schedule full of shows. Just as the past couple of days had shown, there was never an easy way to tell what was going to happen with them.
Taemin wasn't entirely sure where he was but it didn't take long to figure things out. He was soon making his way to the studio, already feeling in a much better mood now that he was going to get to see Jimin after some time.
The message was sent before Jimin could even rationalise the words he had read. Taemin really was one of the best friends he had. He debated how much truth was in the reply, but the idea of just being about to escape being 'Jimin' and just be Jimin for a while overruled any and all logic he would normally possess. He'd typed the message laying down, surprised that the letters had come out in the right spots and he hadn't sent some keyboard smash as a response. So before he could actual give a more thought-out message he pushed himself sitting again and focused.
'Ok, I might have got a little excited. Are you sure you have the time though? I can come to the studio. No one will be there at this time, right? You're sure it's ok? I don't want to take you away from what you're doing. You have the band and your life and all that, and it's hardly fair for you to drop things for me when I am so absent.'
Despite his uncertainties, he started to pack up his stuff anyway. There was no point pushing it further right now. If he tried to continue pushing the dance he was just going to hate it more, and then he really would be changing everything with mere weeks left to go. He really did hate these moments, the moments where he couldn't escape his own mind, even if his life depended on it. Which it really didn't, but he was feeling that dramatic right now.
@Chanhee it was easy for Taemin to focus on his messages with Jimin. Everyone else was occupied with their conversations and filling their tummies so he didn't feel guilty. Not to mention, it was a bit of a break for his mind with everything else going on. He read over Jimin's message and smiled to himself before writing back his message.
'Congrats on the comeback though! Actually, I think I could use an escape myself. We're clear of shows for a bit so just let me know what you want to do and where and I'll meet you. Also, let me know your actual comeback date this time. I'm sure I can sneak myself into a performance to come and see you.'
Taemin smiled to himself at the thought. It had been a while since he'd been in the West and he wouldn't mind taking a trip. The band would notice him not around but wouldn't really question where he was. He didn't have to report to anyone anyway and he would check in with them so they wouldn't worry. He nibbled on his lips, knowing that he could sneak over the tracks for a bit and stay with Hongjoong's brother. The older male had met the band members on multiple occasions and said he had an open-door policy with all of them. They all had his brother's number, too, just in case of an emergency. This wasn't an emergency but he decided to text him just to ask and see. He'd be grateful for the chance to surprise Jimin.
@Yeonjun Having Hongjoong bring him food was strange. He didn't really know what he intended on doing with it now that it was in his hands. He'd intended on not eating at all, not wanting to take food from others who needed it, a habit he still struggled to lose after leaving home. He was young, he could survive without food longer, at least his parents seemed to think so sometimes. But he also dared not waste it now that he had it. Wasting it was worse than taking it from someone who might need it.
So he ate, slowly, carefully, ready to give back what he hadn't consumed if someone mentioned being hungry. He watched everyone talking in their own worlds. It was nice, strange, and a lot like the home he'd made with Wooyoung. They were all together and yet, split. He looked at Yeonjun and smiled slightly. "Your friends are really nice" He muttered out and smiled a little more, a little more real. "I'm glad you found such good people"
~.~.~.~.~
Jimin continued to lay in place, phone resting on his chest as he focused on the roof. It was doing absolutely nothing for him and he hated these moments. He had them every comeback, the point when all the anxiety and fear pooled into a feeling of utter despondency. The Dance wasn't working, was the song good enough, was it the right song, would the fans like it? everything pooled in his mind and left him doubting everything. A few weeks out of comeback and he was ready to scrap the album and start again.
As his phone went off he was pulled back to reality and to the phone, looking at the message and instantly adding guilt to his feelings. He knew it wasn't supposed to be taken that way, but it still settled in his chest. He'd make it up to Taemin. Some how. He was such a horrible friend to have. With another sigh he typed up his message and relaxed back once it was sent.
'Surprise, I am having another come back. No surprise, I am freaking out about it again. I just need... to escape a few hours. I've been working 20 hours a day to get ready for this. But, you should be resting if you're playing again tomorrow. I should have looked at the time. I promise we will hang out soon. And I promise to come to a show'
@Chanhee Yeonjun raised a brow at his brother’s words, feeling a warmth in his chest. “Maybe music will bring us all closer again, hm,” he smiled brightly, gently nudging Chanhee’s arm with his elbow.
Changbin was clearly the most fascinated by the fact that Chanhee was really good with numbers. He still struggled with just words sometimes. Smart people always fascinated him but nothing got his attention more than food. He was in the kitchen seemingly much faster than Hongjoong could even announce that it was ready. As everyone went in the kitchen to eat, Hongjoong came out with a plate for Chanhee, smiling softly at him.
“You don’t have to force yourself to eat if you don’t want to but I made sure to make you some as well.”
They got their servings and came back out, sitting around where they had just been. Hongjoong made plates for both Wooyoung and Joohyun, taking them to the bedroom while everyone else ate.
Taemin was lost in his own world, well, with Jungkook as they quietly spoke about their instruments. He hummed and checked his phone, smiling at the name.
‘You have a little time for me? You’ve been so busy lately. We finished our show earlier and don’t have one for a while. What do you need me to do pull you back together?’
@Yeonjun "I was interested in it because you were" Chanhee muttered almost instantly, quickly shaking his head a little and looking down slightly as he thought about it. "Plus, when you guys left... numbers were much better for me than music was" He smiled weakly not wanting to let Yeonjun know what it was like once they were gone and make him feel guilty. He was honestly just happy to be able to talk to him again after all this time. In time they could discuss how things had been for them, hopefully without guilt coming into the mix. He nodded a little to Yeonjun in question on whether he had seen them perform, muttering a little '2 or 3 times' before his attention was turned to the others again.
"I could handle money" He muttered, nodding along again with a smile. "Some of the guys called me a calculator, I am really good at mental arithmetic" He added with a soft shrug before laughing it off slightly. "I really don't think it's a big deal or anything, I am sure its something lots of people can do... but some of the guys in the gang would just throw numbers at me to get me to add them up, and sometimes one of my friends gets me to help out with his accounting stuff. It's a cool party trick I guess."
The call for food made him jump slightly and turn his head towards the sound before looking back at everyone, biting his lip slightly. "Sorry I am so jumpy" He mumbled, eyes jumping between people. "You guys should go get your food. I'll be here"
~.~.~.~.~
Jimin sighed as he collapsed down onto the floor, his new track once again starting up in the large practice room that felt just as empty as anything. Jimin wasn't even sure what the time was at this point, he only knew that he ached, and everyone had left hours ago, leaving him alone and practising. He hated being alone when he practised. Sometimes he could ignore it, but preparing for a comeback was exhausting. Between practice, recording, photos, planning out the comeback, the tracks, the dances, what songs he's releasing, and everything else, Jimin was so drained it wasn't funny. He tilted his head towards his phone and stared at it a moment willing it to just come closer.
"Why can't I be telepathic... telekentic... whichever one it is..." He sighed again and pushed himself up moving over to where his stuff was grabbing his phone and flicking through it for a moment before heading into his texts looking at how long it had been since he had neglected his friends. They were all used to it of course, but he still felt bad. After a few short apology messages to friends, he ended up in his texts with Taemin, debating whether it was alright to message the other or not. After typing and deleting a fair few different messages, and groaning in frustration he rolled his eyes and typed up one more hitting send before he could stop himself.
'Please tell me you aren't playing and you can save my fracturing mentality'
@Chanhee Yeonjun looked over at his brother and gave him a gentle smile, “If music was something you were interested in, I wouldn’t mind. I wouldn’t hog it or anything.” He paused and furrowed his brows, “Wait, you’ve seen us perform?” The others looked at Chanhee curiously, clearly happy though that he was happy with their performances.
“What do you do with numbers,” Jungkook asked, “Do you handle money or something?” He can’t remember ever having met someone that was good with numbers or even enjoyed playing with numbers.” He took TaeMin’s drumsticks away and began to mindlessly play the drums in the air, following the rhythm for one of their songs.
“Food’s ready,” Hongjoong called, coming from the kitchen, “Everyone was their hands and then come get some.”
@Yeonjun Chanhee listened carefully to what Yeonjin was saying it wasn't all that far of what Wooyoung had told him. He'd mentioned missing Changbin, after Yoonjun, Changbin had been his best friend, and the person he had wanted to mend his relationship with. But both of them were stubborn, and Wooyoung had been convinced that Changbin was likely to never forgive him for all the things he'd done that had impacted Yearjan. The only other thing Wooyoung had added was that, if you did something that Changbin decided was wrong, you'd always be on the outside. There was little chance at redemption with Changbin. Chanhee assumed it depended on what you did, but never questioned it until now. When the new voice, obviously Changbin's, floated through to their conversation, Chanhee tensed once more. He'd never felt so flighty in his life, but it was a stressful situation. The banter between the two made Wooyoung's stories make more sense. He could imagine them being much the same. He could remember the first time he'd witnessed it and both Yeonjun and Wooyoung had laughed while explaining. It was so similar, yet different enough that he felt that same tension in his chest.
Chanhee pushed it from his mind and followed behind Yeonjun, sitting beside him and looking between them trying to remember each of their names. He didn't want to be rude and get their names wrong. These were his brothers friends. As soon as one of them spoke in a way that seemed to address him, Chanhee took a moment to consider the name. Taemin he thought this was. His mind forcused back on the question, shaking his head. No, in response.
"I never had the chance to try. I'm much better with numbers though. So I assume I wasn't gifted the creative gene aswell. It's rare you get both. I wouldn't want to risk stepping into Yeonjun's world like that. Music is his world, and I would hate to take that from him. I really admire all your talent though, you guys are really good... at least the few times I saw you guys perform. "
@Chanhee As they left the room, Yeonjun stood just outside of the bedroom with Chanhee. He couldn't help laughing at the question. "Changbin is quite explosive, yes. He's easily the loudest out of all of us but Wooyoung's... They used to get along really well but Changbin didn't think twice about being explosive in a different way. He's not mean, at least to anyone aside from Woo..." Yeonjun smiled and shrugged, "He's very protective and he would've protected Wooyoung, too, but they just see each other in a different light now. He's not really someone you have to be wary of. I will say that he doesn't exactly have an off button though. That's what you need to be wary of. He can be really loud or scary quiet, 100 or 0. That's it."
"I can hear you talking about me," Changbin called out.
"No, you cannot," Yeonjun replied almost immediately.
"I can feel it."
"Maybe I am talking about you. What are you going to do about it," Yeonjun tried to keep a straight face, leading the way back to the living room where everyone was except for Hongjoong, who was still cooking.
"I'll cry," Changbin huffed, "And then I'll beat you up."
"If you really tried to beat me up, you'd end up crying again if you actually hurt me."
"...maybe," the older smiled.
Yeonjun gestured for Chanhee to come sit with him on the couch. Taemin and Jungkook looked over at the kid again.
"Do you play any instruments," Taemin asked quietly.
As loud as all of them could be together, Taemin and Jungkook were seemingly the most shy out of all of them, though they thankfully got along very well together.
@Yeonjun In his current state, even a knock at the door had Wooyoung freaking out beyond what was normal, but he did everything he could to hold it together. He was sure that no one here wasn't aware of how he was feeling, but that didn't mean he had to show it. Wooyoung was stubborn, always had been, and this was no different. He was going to make it through this without a problem, he was going to be normal. He watched the interaction and even he had to smile at Yeonjun's attempt to turn the doctor's attention from him. The little Wooyoung had managed to learn about her so far made it obvious that Yeonjun was just delaying the inevitable. For now, he wouldn't point that out. Yeonjun needed his time for things as well and he was sure the doctor was well aware of that as well.
Chanhee on the other hand had jumped as soon as the knock had happened. Like a gun going off near by, Chanhee's heart lip through his chest and his mind darted into much darker locations. But a voice followed and before long he was introduced to the doctor, quickly bowing and saying his greeting before getting out of the way. Yeonjun was friends with a doctor, that was going to be useful he was sure. He let out a breath and watched over Wooyoung the whole time, at least until he heard Yeonjun speak again. He glanced back to his brother for a moment before looking back to Wooyoung. He was in that in between again, fearful of leaving Wooyoung but wanting to be with his brother.
"S-Sure" He muttered with a nod, only thinking on it a moment, his eyes still focused on Wooyoung. He still hated the idea of leaving Wooyoung alone with this, but he could for a while. He could let Wooyoung suffer a little before he came to try and help. The longer someone was there with him the more stubborn he'd be. He needed a little time to let out everything without worrying about being judged or thinking he needed to keep everything together. He turned back to Yeonjun and smiled a little, nodding once more. "I think... I think it's time I met them without it being from Woo's stories... Though... is Changbin really that explosive? Woo warned me..."
@Chanhee Yeonjun was pretty sure that if he did what the entirety of his being wanted him to do to cope with everything, no one would be happy with him. He's sure no one knew just how bad he could get sometimes. He was far from the level of Wooyoung. A few days without a fix wouldn't make him react to withdrawal levels like what Wooyoung dealt with. He hadn't been that way even when they were chasing highs together. Yeonjun had always been the type to take just enough to feel the high and to knock the edge off. He wouldn't go much further than that. Maybe seeing Wooyoung go over the edge helped keep him steady but he wouldn't bet on that being the reason. It could also be that he was just scared that he'd end up like his parents if he went off the deep end. He wouldn't bet everything on that either. When it came down to it, it was either fear or common sense that roped him back before he could dive too deeply. Every reason made sense.
At the moment, Yeonjun was sure his earlier high was wearing off, not that he had taken enough to really get there but he was pretty much craving it now. He was texting Soobin the instant he left the room. He shook his head and returned his focus to the conversation, knowing his mind strayed way too far in the midst of everything. "It's just been a long day. I might be getting tired," he rubbed his nape, wearing an apologetic smile. As if on cue, there was a knock at the door, Joohyun calling softly from the other side that it was her, "Just want to do a routine check before heading to bed." Yeonjun stood, saying that she could come in.
Joohyun had to quickly process everything she was seeing at once. Wooyoung looked at his wit's end, waiting to fall over the edge, there was a completely new face and then there was Yeonjun with obviously fresh bandages. "This is my brother," Yeonjun cut into her thoughts. When they made eye contact, it was clear he'd done it on purpose. Both Yeonjun and Joohyun knew it was because he didn't want to be scolded right now. "Joohyun, my brother Chanhee," he continued, clearing his throat and clearing away his nerves for a moment, "Chanhee, Dr. Bae Joohyun, a really good friend of mine." Joohyun smiled softly at the male and gave a slight nod, "Nice to meet you. She tucked her hair behind her ear and moved closer to Wooyoung, "Just give me a moment, Wooyoung. I promise this will be another quick check. I have to make sure your body doesn't go into shock in some way." She focused mostly on listening to his heart and breathing, but also made sure to check his eyes and nostrils as well as the color of his lips. She was quiet and swift as she made note of a handful of things, finding nothing too alarming or dangerous, for that matter. "Do you... Do you want to go back and talk to the members," Yeonjun offered Chanhee, just trying to figure out something that they could do together.
