[✱] So what is The Venus Lounge? Why is it so special? Is it open to the general public and how popular is it?
The Venus Lounge is a decadent indulgence of desire to only an exclusive few. The Lounge itself is tucked away in Cheongdam-Dong, hidden in a maze of alleyways. The lounge itself is not registered on any official map; the only way to find the building is to either a.) be very, very lost and stumble upon or b.) receive the address by invitation(wondering how to get receive one? Check out the character building guide!).
One of the strictest rules of The Venus Lounge, kind of like Fight Club, is to never reveal the location to outsiders. Unlike Fight Club, where the rules were made to be broken, blabbing about the club will land you in extremely hot water with the lounge.
Or should I say cold water- like the bottom of the Han river cold.
[✱] I thought this was meant to be a pure roleplay, why am i seeing odd comments like Pearls hiding bruises or rule-breaking having 'consequences'.
The Venus Loung is not all that it seems. You can't have the glitz and glamour, the dream, without some sacrifices.
If you want to be perfect, be perfect. If you want to have trauma, have trauma. It's entirely up to you.
[✱] Why do you keep referring to 'Pearls' in the main page and in the handbook? What does 'Pearl' mean in the context of the roleplay?
Pearls are what we call the employees of The Venus Lounge! Most depictions of the Goddess herself feature her standing in a large seashell. Although it's likely not an oyster and pearls are not necessarily associated with Venus, they do come from the ocean and we have decided to stretch the mythology a bit. After all, real pearls are nature-made beauties sought after by the elite; aren't you dying to own your very own exquisite pearl?
Pearls are all employees of the brothel; es, dancers, bartenders and chefs, etc. As all play an important part in keeping the business running.

[✱] What is the price guide for? Do i actually need to roleplay my character paying money?
Not unless you want too. The Venus Lounge is mean to be an extremely high end, lucrative club to get into and their prices reflect that. This is so that if you're playing a character who is either a.) incredibly wealthy or b.) is barely scraping by, you can adjust their attitude as needed.
[✱] Are these being paid directly to the Pearl?
Excluding cash tips, no money is given directly to Pearls.
In the roleplay's world, your muse would pay for their services at the end when exiting the club which well then go through accounting hijinks that employees and clients are not privvy too. What are Pearls salaries you may ask? Well... it's probably lower then you think.
[✱] How realistic is your rp?
Eh... We've taken some liberties with what exists in real life and what doesn't. This is mainly so that we can fulfil kinks that may be otherwise tricky to do since they're against either RP rules or the club guidelines. Feel free to stretch the limitations with things like aphrodisiacs, 'standard' bodily functions, being really into your headspace, etc., as long as it's not completely unrealistic.
Example of what is allowed: tablets that can make you hypersensitive to any kind of touch or can make women lactate without being pregnant(men can use but there will be negative side effects since it's not 'standard') for breeding kinks, etc.
Example of what isn't allowed: you're not gonna grow a pair of cat ears lmfao
[✱] This is a rated, -based rp, does this mean that we can roleplay in all rooms?
The short answer: no. The longer answer: also no but you can in most rooms. We ask you to refrain from roleplaying or drawn-out scenes in the chat rooms purely because we want those to be easily accessible to others just wanting a fun conversation. Aside from those two rooms though, we encourage and heavy themes in all other rooms. Go wild.

[✱] You mentioned triggering content in your admin note, what does that mean?
This is a rated roleplay. People are going to have ed up characters doing relatively ed up things. While we do have banned topics(skip to next question), we let pretty much anything go. HOWEVER we do require all muns to make a NOTE at the beginning of their post should it contain triggering content.
[✱] So what are your banned topics?
We have three banned topics in total, each have their own notes. See below.
Childhood Abuse : only allowed in a character background context. You may reference your character trauma if it comes up during your roleplay but never in detail. Be respectful.
Necrophilia: banned. Not allowed under any circumstance.

When it comes to other taboo topics, always communicate with your partner. Consent is a foundation in this roleplay and we take it very seriously if someone is found to be crossing boundaries constantly. Every participant has the right to say no, regardless of what stage your plot is in, and this must be respected.
