@j. avan .ᐟ There was a buzz in the air. The Magazine headquarters was bustling so early in the morning and it was due to one event - open call day for the Winter edition. The newest edition was behind schedule, what with NYFW and end of year events taking up time, but on thing was for certain: this was one of the few days a year that the office was graced with the presence of their owner. She was beloved by everyone who stepped foot into the building, garnering attention from floors above them and floors below, for her demeanor and extravagant charm. Lisa knew that LUXE was the envy of many magazines and as it continued to grow and garner attention, so did she. Not only was did she own the LUXE Empire, she, herself, was a model of the highest caliber. Granted it wasnt her first choice career, she stuck with it because it was easy — it’s what she knew and what she was good at. So as the sound of her heels resonated through the halls, interns rushing through the halls, and the phones ringing off the hooks, she looked calm and collected.

“And you have an appointment with Galliano tonight at 8pm - that little bistro on the corner that he likes,” her assistant said as she prattled off Lisa’s own packed schedule. Cultivating a culture of collaboration with designers (rather than competition) was hard work when one wanted to bring the collective mind to innovation. A hand rose as the pair stopped at the doors of the show room. Lisa smiled, in the subtle way that she did, before opening to speak, “I appreciate your hard work. I think I got it from here. Take a break… but when you get back, please pick me up another coffee.” The assistant lit up before nodding and rushing off. Lisa couldnt help the small smile that overtook her visage as she watched the young woman run off. Pushing open the doors, the room fell silent. “Shall we begin?”
