@ᶜ˖⁺ hoseok j。 Kyousuke was arguably the happiest person on the planet. He was very much aware of this and loved it that way. Really, anything affectionate or nice or cute was his weakness. He supposed he might've been his own weakness if he weren't so humble. Either way, he knew how happy and energetic he always was. He smiled and laughed and joked and cuddled and snuggled and hugged and kissed just about anyone that was okay with all that. Getting to the point where he could do half of that with Hoseok, however, took a lot of time, work, and questions. It was hard, but it was worth it. Hoseok was a very good friend, and he loved being happy around the normally guarded male.
Unfortunately, he couldn't always be happy.
Looking back, he might have considered telling Hoseok about everything, but he hadn't told anyone. No one but him knows the real reason he moved away from Japan to come here. Sometimes, he was still haunted by the events of that faithful day. It was an accident; he didn't mean to. It wasn't supposed to happen. These were things he started to tell himself whenever he started feeling like he was losing his ability to breathe. These sentences probably made him worse because it didn't excuse anything. It /did/ happen, and that was stuck to his mind, clung to his nightmares. He couldn't handle the thoughts hitting him, so he always made sure to excuse himself from whoever he was with, usually Hoseok as of late, with a smile and an excuse like having lots of lesson planning to do. Immediately, he would go home.
He was almost never able to quite make it inside his home before the shaking started. Unlocking his door and opening it would take around two to five minutes depending when the shaking started. As soon as he would be safely inside with his door shut and locked, a loud sob usually left his lips. That was the only time he would ever allow himself to cry. These moments by himself were the only times he allowed himself to lose that happy persona and take on a much darker, more tortured one. He didn't want to worry anyone, so he cried alone. He always cried alone. Usually, he could make it to his room before completely breaking down. This was not one of those times.
He didn't even notice Hoseok come into his house. He was so distraught this time that he left his door unlocked. It was the anniversary... He belatedly remembered it and grew even more upset, screaming and sobbing while curling in on himself as if he were being beaten. He supposed he was, in a mental and emotional state. He had no sense of detection for anything else at the moment.
Hoseok and Kyosuke had an odd relationship–if one could label something as unique as the bond they shared. Kyosuke was nothing like Hoseok, who tended to push people away more times than he can count. And yet, they were the same. Despite everything, the raven-haired boy had a perfect reason behind his actions at the end of the day it would only be hurting him the most. Almost as if Hoseok's efforts were useless, they did, however, make the older male more curious. Nothing could make Kyosuke change his mind, despite Hoseok's best efforts to try and throw him off. Why would someone beautiful such as Hoseok be the way he is? What happened? Is there anything he can do to help him? And the list of questions kept on going. If someone foretold Hoseok that a boy would come into his life and destroy everything he built for the past ten years in a matter of seconds, he'd laugh. It wasn't possible. He wasn't something worth being fought over, too many issues. But look what happened to him. He finally found someone who was willing to look past his outer appearance, to find the real Hoseok. Maybe that's why he allowed Kyosuke to stay in his life, forever holding the elder close to his heart. Maybe that's why he could see the light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how small it seemed. He was finally happy, but he knew deep down inside balance would come and shatter that happiness. It always did, what good things in life must come with bad.
Perhaps that's why he was standing outside his friend's door, a hand hesitating to knock on the door. The sounds of cries caught the raven-haired's attention, causing him to freeze. What was wrong? Why was he crying? Weren't they friends? "Kyosuke?" He whispered, resting his forehead on the wooden door and closed his eyes.
Should he go into the room and check up on his best friend? Isn't that what friends do? They take care of each other, right? 'Maybe he wanted some space to deal with things before calling me over,' Hoseok thought, a pair of hazel orbs fluttering open slowly. 'But still. Friends don't abandon each other, and Kyosuke didn't when I gave him a hard time.' A small sigh fell from Hoseok's lips as he pulled away and reached down, the tips of his fingers brushing along the edges of the metal door handle. "I'm coming inside," He announced, slowly turning the handle and open the door. Closing the door behind him softly, the young charmer glanced around the room in awe. Kyosuke had decorated his room with Christmas decorations, "I had almost forgotten that Christmas was just around the corner. Damn." Beautiful shades of red and green scattered around the room, adding a cheerful atmosphere. It almost made the younger magician want to do the same with his own room. But he barely had the time to do so, far too busy with studying and training.
