@✿ hayi l。 matthew's eyebrows began to knit together as he watched her expression, a tiny hint of sadness in his eyes as his hands started to inch their way to hers. he missed her too, of course, and his wife's suggestions made him start to think ––– maybe this time together would be better for them than he originally thought. just being able to sit down together and talk was a simple luxury they hadn't seemed to have for the longest time, and to have the opportunity to do that, /and/ even more, wiped the sadness right from his face and replaced it with a bright smile. "i don't mind getting wet again," he assured her, fingers lightly padding against hers, tracing light patterns against her skin before linking them together and letting them dangle between their bodies. "why don't we suit up and head to the pool for a while? we can talk there, maybe catch up a little. i'll buy you a nice dinner afterward and then we can spend the rest of the night together here." he leaned in to kiss her again, voice low as he whispered against her lips. "i love you."

@✿ matthew k。 matthew's suggestion caused the color that dusted her cheeks to deepen and she was sure she had become a tomato at this point, but hayi didn't really mind it. "mmmaybe," she began as her hands moved to his arms, slowly trailing upward as she continued. "- we can work up to that? cause i think that's something i could... /definitely/ enjoy." she finished, giving matthew a wink before she brought her hands to either side of his towel, pulling matthew's head down so she could peck his lips. "perfect wife, huh?" the younger of the pair couldn't help but giggle at that; she always felt giddy when he complimented her. "well, my handsome husband, i was thinking we could go for a swim, since i saw an in-door pool, oooor - because you just showered and probably don't wanna get wet again, we can just stay here and talk for a bit before going out to dinner? its been a while since we've been able to just do that? honestly, we've been so busy, it's been a minute since we've been able to do a lot of things." hayi frowned slightly before she pecked matthew's lips once again. "i miss you," she admitted with a whisper as she cupped his face in her hands.

@✿ hayi l。 the towel stayed atop his head, the edge draped from midway down his forehead back to his shoulders — pretty comparable to a biblical era woman's head covering. his bottom lip slipped between his teeth as he anticipated her, the smile spread across her face coupled with her alluring figure simply sending his mind into a frenzy. there was no denying the physical attraction he had for his wife, even if his chances to /do/ anything about it were slim. he didn't mind. "that sounds like a good idea to me. maybe even sharing sometimes ––– saves water." the grin on his face morphed into a sly smirk as his fingers splayed over either of her hips. "girl," he started in response to her question, obnoxiously drawing out the word for a good few seconds, "i'm all yours today. the only plan i have is to spend time with my perfect wife." he dipped his head down, a smile playing at his lips as he kissed her forehead. "if you've got plans i'm tagging along –– you don't have a choice."

@✿ matthew k。 the moment she heard the bathroom door open, hayi's gaze followed the sound before it landed on matthew's form. while his face was covered with his towel, she took a moment to look him over - something she hadn't really done before. she had to admit, he was even more fit than she had initially realized. she had fallen for his personality and humor, so the physical aspect wasn't really something hayi had been all too mindful of until now. once the towel was pulled away, she averted her gaze to his face, smiling once she did so - god, his smile was infectious, she could never deny that. "hi, yourself." she replied before hopping off of the bed, clapping her hands in front of herself as she slowly approached him. "maybe we *should* shower with the door open from now on?" hayi nodded as she reached him, rocking back and forth on the heels of her feet as she did so, the smile still present. "i wouldn't mind that, besides, i don't want either of us to suffocate in there - i'm too young to be a widow." she added as she looked down for a moment, a light blush dusting her cheeks before she looked up again and got on the tips of her toes to kiss matthew's cheek. "so, you got any plans for today, handsome?"

@✿ hayi l。 taking a few minutes to himself, to let his mind run free under the comfort of a stream of scalding hot water, was nice. matthew was really glad that hayi was willing to come here so they could work through their issues, together, and come out stronger than they were before. it wasn't a mystery why they rushed into things — they both felt a love stronger than most for one another, and with the help of this little counseling shin-dig matthew wanted to learn how to give every ounce of himself to his wife, no questions asked.

he let the bathroom door swing open after drying off and throwing on a pair of boxers. the hinges sent a faint squeal through his ears as a slew of steam followed suit, escaping the humid-as-hell bathroom and rising to the ceiling. "oh god," he breathed, blindly stepping out of the bathroom, hands vigorously rubbing the towel that was thrown over his head. as he spoke his voice was muffled, and he didn't even know if hayi was within earshot, but it didn't stop him. "the stupid exhaust fan doesn't even work in there. maybe we should just shower with the door open for the rest of the time we're here." clicking his tongue, he pulled the towel up to reveal his face, a goofy grin immediately adorning his features when he saw hayi sitting on the edge of the bed, a breathy "hi" leaving his lips as he made eye contact.


[ ] "making their house a grape-free zone" i love you

the strangest thing for her, thus far, wasn't being in a new place or sharing a new bed, it was the change in routine. she was used to waking up early, having her small breakfast after a quick shower, possibly getting a kiss from her husband - provided he hadn't left yet, before she was out the door. her life seemed to revolve around her patients and their needs which, now that she was away from them all, she was able to see was a big problem. hayi's grandmother had taught her many things, love being one of them, but it wasn't a lesson she was ready to learn when it was taught to her. her grandmother told her to always make time for the ones you love, always keep a promise, respect vows and cherish a man's heart should he give his to you. she hadn't done the best job at following all of that advice, but she wanted to, she wanted to cherish matthew the way she knew she could. he was a great man, funny, kind and handsome - any girl would be thrilled to have him, and she was. she tried to show that through small things, like packing his lunch with post-it notes, making their house a grape-free zone and always buying his favorite snacks when they were on sale.

however, love was more than that, love required more... but hayi knew that in time and with the help of this place, she would be able to learn to love without restrictions and learn to let go of childish misconceptions to allow matthew to love her too - in every way possible. as she sat at the foot of the bed, she listened to the stream of water coming from the shower, allowing it to somewhat relax her as she waited for her husband to be done. hayi usually ran to the next room whenever matthew was in the shower, but today she wouldn't do that - or at least try not to, she was married now after all and it was only natural to see your partner in any state they're in. when she realized the water had finally stopped, the comfort it brought dissolved and hayi tensed up slightly but still held firm in her position on the bed.
