@✿ chaeyeon j。 Taking a few more light breaths, Doyoung found himself awoken by Chae, who was being illuminated by the moonlight that trickled in slowly from the barely-cracked open window, which was also letting in a calm and cool breeze. Looking out the window, Doyoung could tell it was before dawn and had to ponder what he was doing awake at such an unatural hour. Unlike Chaeyeon herself, Doyoung had a quite strict sleeping schedule.
"Chae?" He asked groggily, sleep still apparent in his voice. "Couch, what do you mean -" He asked, before relization had hit him, he had fallen asleep on the couch, as to not bother her. When sleepy, Doyoung was nearly always confused and in a dazed state.
"Oh, yeah," He yawns, standing up from the couch and taking a strech. His eyes scrambled around the room, the unfortunate incident still making the air around them awkward, with the both of them refusing to give a full apology. His eyes ended up focusing on the now full vase. "You saw the flowers, yeah?"
@✿ doyoung k。 Chaeyeon wakes up a few hours after midnight, turning to her side to look out the window. The sky was still dark but the reddish peaks on the clouds signaled that dawn was approaching. She focuses her gaze on the window, her vision slowly adjusting to the dimly lit room until she eventually sits up and checks her surroundings. She's back in the bedroom, but she could have sworn that she fell asleep on the couch.
Doyoung must have brought her here, she wonders, trying to stop a smile from forming on her face by biting the inside of her cheek. She notices something on the bedside table, and upon further inspection she realizes it's a bouquet of flowers. "Geez, he even got me flowers." she mutters, reading through the note, cheekbones lifting no matter how hard she tried not to smile.
Slowly, Chaeyeon drags herself out of bed and carries the bouquet out to the living room, decorating a vacant vase by the counter with the flowers. By now she's wide awake, despite the time being more than ungodly, nonetheless it was common for Chaeyeon to wake up at odd times and often have little sense of time.
From the corner of her eyes she notices Doyoung on the couch, sighing as she strides her way over, kneeling in front of him. She gently nudges him to wake up, speaking ever so softly as she did "Doyoung, wake up, your back is gonna hurt if you sleep on the couch. Psst, Doyoung."
@✿ chaeyeon j。 As I remain outside, I bite down on my lip and let my eyelids flutter close before letting out a huff of disapointment. In himself, in how he handled it, yet still, was also upset with Chaeyeon, but still he blames himself more. Taking a deep breath, he re-enters the house, silently in case Chae was alsleep.
Once inside, he finds a box. Picking it up, he discovers it to be a chocolate box, with a note, her handwritting all over it. The text was short, but it was enough. Smiling softly, he places the box down and looks to the forgotton boquet of flowers on the mantle. "She didn't get to see it," He murmurs quietly.
About to call out for her, he wonders over the couch, only to see her sleeping soundly on it. He shakes his head, in faux-disaproval. Without saying much else, he picks her up and brings her into the bedroom. Placing her gentley on the bed, he walks out, closing the door as quietly as he could.
Taking a seat at the desk which was comfortably in the otherwise empty extra room, that was currently being used as a mock-office. He begun to fashion a note from himself. "Dear Chae," He begins to write. He attempts to write an apology, but his stubbornes stopped him. Instead, it was simple note thanking her for the chocolate and for doing the dishes. Along with the flowers, he leaves it at the bedside table before leaving the room for the last time tonight. He ended up sleeling soundly on the same space she was occupying ealier, the couch.
@✿ doyoung k。 Traces of guilt remains evident on Chaeyeon's face, nervously biting down on her bottom lip and casting her gaze to the seemingly bottomless pit of her luggage as Doyoung leaves their room. A soft sigh causes her shoulders to droop, nimble fingers pushing back strands of hair. She sits their quietly for a few minutes, contemplating how she could have expressed herself better.
Wordlessly, she resumes her unpacking. There's only silence occupying the lodging, save for the rustle of clothing as it moves from one spot to another. When she finally finishes, Chaeyeon takes a shower and then changes into more comfortable clothing. She walks out of the room to find Doyoung gone, a frown slowly growing from the corners of her lips.
She eats, the ticking of the clock accompanying the silverware that makes gentle clinks with the plate. Doyoung's cooking was always amazing, she felt guilty for not having eaten earlier so she could tell him. A guilty gaze fixes on the now empty plate, and she sighs, bringing the item to the sink and washing it thoroughly. She decides to put on gloves and finish washing the rest of the plates, then leaving them out to dry on the rack.
"Ah, right..." Chaeyeon remembers, rushing back to the luggage to take out a box of chocolates she had bought for her husband while overseas. She places the present on the table, with a note: "Hey, I bought these for you when I landed in Brussels. Also, sorry about today..." and moves to the couch, holding onto the pillow tightly until she drifts off into sleep.
@✿ chaeyeon j。 Doyoung purses his lips, and looks down. Doyoung knew this probably wasn't Chaeyeon speaking, but the exhaustion. Even though he knows this well, he finds himself leaving the room in silence. "I hope you eat well," He mutters softly. "Whenever that maybe." He adds on, with slight hints of malice. It's childish, he knows, but he can't help himself. He too worked hard, but he made time to make dinner for the both of them and she'd rather unpack.
Sitting alone at the table, a huffs out a little sigh, before pouting to himself. Along with being stubborn, he was childish too, so his grudges were lasted longer than anyone would think was possible. He eats in silence, occasion looking up in hopes of seeing Chaeyoung come into the dinning room. Deciding it'd be best him and her to leave her alone for now, he puts on a coat and steps outside.
Outside, he sits on the bench placed in the entrance to their shared home and ruffles his hair, thinking about how such a small thing led to this. He knew that they were both equally stubborn, something that caused rifts earlier into the realtionship, so this may not blow over soon.
@✿ doyoung k。 She could only offer a smile at the question not wanting to rant about having to deal with rather demanding passengers. While she thoroughly enjoyed her job, there were flights that drained every bit of positive energy out of her, her most recent flight was one of those. She didn't know how to express it at the moment nor did Chaeyeon want Doyoung to worry about her more than he already did, he had a lot on his plate, and the last thing she wanted to do was become another burden. "It's okay, I'm just glad I'm not wearing those heels right now."
She sinks her teeth on her lower lip, fingers curling around the cotton shirt she took out of the suitcase. She hesitates for a brief second but resorts to putting the shirt inside the drawer along with the rest of her clothes, shaking her head at Doyoung.
"Doyoung, it's fine. If I don't unpack now, I'll never unpack. Also you should eat first, I'll heat up the food and eat later." She drags out a heavy sigh, her tone becoming more distant with each passing second. "A massage isn't necessary. I just need to be alone right now."
She turns away, avoiding eye contact with Doyoung and immediately regretting what she just said. She hated being so curt with Doyoung, especially since he meant well.
@✿ chaeyeon j。 Seeing his wife in such a state upsets Doyoung. He's quite empathetic to those he's around, espically his loved ones, so of course seeing his wife so drained hurts him. "Of course I did, the better question is are you doing good?" He asks, hoping the hug could've lasted even a second longer.
It's natural, isn't it? Doyoung justifys to himself, that it's normal to want to spend a lot of time with someone he hasn't seen for so long. He knows that she's tired, but he still wants to be selfish and have her spend time with him. Taking off Chaeyoung's coat, which she herself forgot about, Doyoung follows her to their shared room.
"Yah, Chae." He begins, tone not harsh at all. "You've been on a who knows long flight, and I know you can barely stand airplane food, so unpacking can wait, you should eat!" He berates softly, purely out of worry for her. "I'll even unpack for you," He offers, even though he hasn't eaten yet. He saw how tense she was, and eating warm food would surely calm her nerves down.
"After you eat, I can give you massage!" He says, unaware of how much of mom he seems like. His 'moming' was a way he showed he cared, though some may seem over-bareing, he found it a way to show affection.
Tightly, she gripped onto the handle of her suitcase, lips pressing together in a straight line. It was an anxious habit for Chaeyeon, as evident by the manner which she forcefully attempts to relax her lips yet fails when the corners remain tense. She had just finished her most recent post, sending in a leave of absence shortly after to focus on the program. Taking in a deep breath, she proceeds forward, facing the door of the lodging which she shared with her husband. She yawns from the jetlag, mustering up a tired smile when she rings the doorbell, the door opening soon after.
Doyoung, her husband, greets her with the news of dinner. But even though it's her favorite dish, the fatigue affected even her apetite, leaving her with none at the moment. She walks to him and greets him with a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek, having missed him after being separated from weeks because of the nature of her work. "I missed you. You better have been taking care of yourself silly." she murmurs softly, detaching herself from Doyoung and clasping the handle of the suitcase again.
"I'm not really hungry right now. And after all, there's still things that need to be unpacked...I'll eat later." Chaeyeon tells him as she rolls the luggage close to the drawers. She settles on the carpeted floor, unpinning her beret and bun to let her hair loose. She yawns again while ping the suitcase, carefully placing the articles of clothing inside.
()oof it's rather short but my resposnds will probably be longer
Humming quietly, Doyoung prepares to start making dinner. It was a long say at the clinic, but Doyoung had figured cleaning up whatever mess the amimals had made was marginely better than being stuck in a plane for nearly seven hours.
It had been a few weeks since Chaeyeon left for work last, and Doyoung would be lying if he wasn't exited to see her again. With a slight spring in his step, he ponders what to make for dinner. He ends up deciding he'll make her favourite. Grabbing the ingridients, he begins cooking.
Luckily enough, the time he finshes cooking and begins plating coensides with the time the doorbell rings. Making the finshing touches, he calls out a: "Coming!" Before making his way tk the door. With a warm smile, he welcomes back his probably exhausted wife home. "Welcone back, dear! I've just finshed cooking, it's your favourite!" He explains.
I'm sorry Seungwan is leaving, hit a rough patch with my mood. Concept is a amazing though and I'm terribly sorry if nichkhun is still here and reads this.
