@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ immediately after hearing a soft - hesitant, he may add - creak, his piercing gaze naturally focused on the door. he watched as the human ventured closer with clean clothes prepped right below his nose. although the awkward atmosphere was something he dreaded, he tried his hardest to ignore it and paid attention to the other's stature. he wanted to move forward from their argument, and it seemed like the other wanted that as well. and for that, he was relieved.
the human managed to break the silence, in return, he listened attentively with a firm nod. "great." he stated in a matter-of-fact tone in his voice, not too condescending, more neutral, as his face softened. "that's.. quite alright. i may have crossed the line and for that, i apologize as well. don't worry, you've been the kindest, most emotional, host i've ever met.. that was very well a compliment, honestly." he snickered softly. he eyed the clothes then reverted back at the other's features. "please, guide me to the bathroom. i smell absolutely rubbish and the least i can give you is a presentable attire." he said with pierced lips as he slowly turned his body, feet reaching the floor, as he stumbled up - balance not so stable but do-able in the condition he was in.
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum knew he acted inappropriately, and childishly. The vampire had unfortunately pressed a button that led him to react without giving it much thought. He suppressed a sigh when he entered his living room once again, finding the vampire hadn't moved an inch from his spot. He was mildly relieved he hadn't left; even though still had lingering feelings of hurt, Jaebum knew he'd mostly wonder where the vampire had escaped too and worry about him. He stopped a few feet short from the man, Jaebum feeling more awkward of the two before spoke up again.
"I managed to find some things that might fit. At least for the night..." He trailed off, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. He knew he should get the words out, but somehow he felt the effort would maybe go unappreciated by the vampire. Still, he must try. "I didn't mean to snap at you," He started off, pursing his lips before he shrugged almost sheepishly. "A...human hazard, I suppose. Doesn't make me a very...welcoming host. I'm sorry about that." Jaebum's eyes glanced back at the man, no ill feeling left in his gaze but rather hesitation and tentativeness. "Um..." His mind went back for a moment before he remembered the weight in his hands, "Right, so...I can show you to the bathroom and you can have yourself a shower. I'll get some more blood as well for after. I should still have some."
{ lmao don't mind jae. he be a lil sensitive bun sometimes eue }
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ yifan glared, more out of confusion than irritation - but oh, did he have a feeling he'll be sure as irritated in a second. "yes, must i repeat myself?" he uttered as pleasantly as he could muster, but really there was an underlying attitude in between his words. despite his reluctance and lack of mobility as a factor, he had to endure the other's complaints with a tight lip and a strong frown. if there was anything more displeasing than having his body hacked to pieces, it would be arguments which was without a doubt barbaric in his mind. the tone of his voice would send heat from his neck to his head but alas the undead had its perks, that is the inability to truly grasp his emotions. "here i thought we moved passed formalities after joking around my habits at night - which simply categorized me as a malicious vampire. i suppose i was wrong." he suppressed his irritation by rubbing the nape of his neck, basically reminding himself to think rationally, he was rather emotional otherwise. scary thing, a mortal's ego. "i understand but don't act like you haven't been ignorant to my well-being as of late. clearly, we're both in the wrong." he watched lazily as the human gathered his supplies, ran straight to his room, and closed the door behind him with a bang. he didn't react much, instead he eye rolled at the exaggerated display.
he sighed one of his countless sighs as he basked in the oh-too-familiar silence, rethinking his decisions leading up to where he was. the thought of leaving popped in his mind, however, who else would take a dirty aging vampire like himself in the middle of the night? without another reason to withdraw his choices thus far, he took his chances and stayed exactly on the same spot on the couch. it didn't take a psychologist to see how deeply troubled and soft-hearted the other individual was, life does that to a person. it was just a heat of the moment, he reminds himself, and, without thinking much of it, he has already moved on.
(( tHAT Was out of nowhere LOL but yifan likes jae too much and cant leave oh yes u wubb ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum's eyes twitched from the sheer boldness of the command given to him. As if he was the expected to comply with every whim of the vampire with no objection whatsoever. The human was more than happy to lend him some of things, but he expected at least some cordial interactions from the man. "'Hurry and fetch' you something?" He replied, his voice hard even revivaling the vampire's tone earlier. He pursed his lips, sighing softly before he continued. "Listen, I realize you had a hard night being attacked and all, but I'm not some ing dog that'll /fetch/ you things." He placed special emphasis on the word that made me like some lowly animal like most vampire considered humans. "I know I said I don't expect anything from you, but I think some respect isn't too much to ask. If you think that's too /lowly/ for you to give some human, then you can figure out yourself who else can take you in. It's a two way street, Yifan." The cautiously friendly mood had turned icy from Jaebum's words. He lifted himself from the couch, gathering his supplies before he returned to his room. He closed the door behind him, and leaned against for a few seconds. His temper got the best of him again, but Jaebum wasn't about to be treated in such a way after helping the man.
For all he knew, the man might have not meant the words in such a way, but it just rubbed him the wrong way. While Jaebum was still angry, he wasn't going to deny the man his requests. He still felt a bit bad honestly. It took him a few minutes to gather the necessary clothing for Yifan, hoping some of the clothes he had kept buried in the bottom of his drawers would fit the taller man. They belonged to his father, and he looked about Yifan's height. It was only a pair of sweats, a plain back t-shirt, a pair of socks, and clean underwear. He folded each item neatly before he exited the bedroom, and headed towards the living room again. Jaebum wasn't as heated now, only a bit more tense. Maybe the vampire had just left, taking his chances elsewhere.
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ he took note of the mortal's reaction, finding it priceless and amusing. the way his cheeks lit up in a fever red and tried to dismiss it like he wasn't affected, it was almost addicting. as if he wanted to do it again just to see his reaction and get a hardy laugh out of it. this was somewhat out-of-character for the brooding vampire but the human's charms were slowly eating away his judgmental thoughts that he couldn't help make a little light in his unfortunate situation. yet he still felt conscious enough to hold himself back, continuing to clean himself with the pad, swiping around to get rid of the grit out of his almost porcelain skin. he replied to the latter's ridiculous remark with a playful scoff. it would've gave him some peace of mind to hear his thoughts about it, if that were ever to be the case. but he stopped himself from thinking any further and just enjoyed the scene.
he cleaned himself up as much as he could before smirking to himself, quietly agreeing to his own philosophy. he lived countless of years, met many different minds, and they would opt for a fair exchange. he wiped the remaining dirt off of his arms, getting the inner corners of his fingers to rid of the creature's blood. revolting, he thought. "good. i feel foul. hurry and fetch me something, will you?" he persisted in cleaning his hands before suggestively glancing upwards towards the human. "why? do you want to put our earlier conversation to play?" his hand found itself on his already revealing shirt, flashing his collarbone for a mere second while his lips remained relax until he burst out into a hefty laugh. "just some clothes and a running bath perhaps. i shall have a snack before bed." he said, in a sadistic sigh.
(( HE REALLY BE DOIN THAT ASDF LOOOL hehe there's more to come eVemuAHhah ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ If it was anybody else getting so close to even make Jaebum uncomfortable he would have sneered at them, but he thinks doing such thing to a vampire would do very little. It seemed like the man was more interested in mechanism of why his face was suddenly reddening. He backed away a little, sputtering for a few seconds trying to formulate a response. But he was caught very off guard when felt cold fingers on his chin, eyes widening from the vampire's sly smile and reaction. He was left gaping like an idiot before he finally pulled himself together, scoffing in return as if the vampire hadn't totally fazed at all. Nope, Jaebum was calm, cool, and collected. "If I would or would not is /totally/ irrelevant." He said indignantly, having to purse his lips to refrain from smiling when he heard the man's chuckle. It was a rumble he could feel to his very bones, and he wasn't sure it that was good or not.
It seemed the man was able to clean himself up a bit, Jaebum averting his eyes when the other opened up his shirt a bit. "Well, I suppose you're the expert in that area, so I'll take your word for it..." Jaebum busied himself collecting the dirty wipes, tidying up his small box and supplies. He nodded his head, "Yeah, I may have something that'll fit you." He paused, glancing over at the man and making sure to keep his eyes above the collarbone. "How's, um, your hungry doing? Do you need anymore blood?"
{ WOWOOWO YIFAN REALLY BE DOING THAT oof---i love it and so does jae }
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ yifan simply dismissed the other's remarks with a slight eye roll, he was a willing participant in the grande scheme of things. in time, he realized the other's cheeks were overcoming with crimson, for reasons he can't exactly grasp. but he found it entertaining enough that he dipped his head to closer examine his features, with a cocky smirk to match. "interesting." he rubber band back a comfortable length as he understood a little more of his strange train of thought. he leaned his head on his knuckles, looking off into the distance. "i doubt that you haven't considered it before. our way of feeding has been romanticized time and time again." his eyes slid focus on the human once again, the corner of his lips stretching upwards. he reached over, fingers softly pinching the human's chin, lifting his gaze towards his eyes. "would you... totally?" he his lips with a sudden pause before deeply chuckling back to his post on the couch. he wiped a nonexistent tear from his cheek, trying his hardest to simmer down. "i can assure you that will be the least of your problems." he muttered through.
once he was able to compose himself, he finally retrieved the wipe. he then cleaned off the dirt and dry blood off his neck, slipping it down to his collarbone until he decided to his shirt a bit for more access. then he continued on, never leaving his sight on where he needs to focus on. "it isn't always monetary, there's also other methods. some services or aid behind the scenes - they take advantage of a simple deed." he explained bitterly. "no. it's better if they didn't know of my location... furthermore, do you have any spare clothes i can borrow?" he frowned as he glanced at the disgusting mutilation of his attire.
(( iMM ASDFKJJKHJ SRRY I HAD TO LMAoooo haha and yeah tbh poor jae what're you gonna do eu e ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum figured it would be inappropriate to laugh because he wasn't if the vampire was joking the carpet, his train of thought already being led down a different path when Yifan asked about extremely willing participants. "No, I'm not one of them!" He suddenly protested loudly, suddenly feeling all the blood rush to his cheeks when all these images popped into his mind and in that moment he wanted to die from the embarrassment. He refused to look up from his humiliating outburst. Jaebum cleared his throat, trying to compose before he went on. "I mean, yes I am willing to help, of course. But willing participants as in...ual favors in exchange for drinking their blood. I wouldn't sleep with a vampire for anything--" He stopped short, realizing he might have offended the other as if vampires were disgusting creatures to sleep with. "Not that I'm judging obviously. I mean some of you guys are really handsome and I would totally--" Jaebum bite his lip, closing his eyes as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He gotten so flustered that he was very close to a rant that would be too much to comeback from. "Just don't go out hunting at night is the point I'm trying to make."
He didn't dare to look at Yifan quite yet when the vampire took the wipe from him. He still felt the familiar rush of warmth still present on his face as he spoke, "There's no way I'm getting for paid this. It isn't always about monetary compensation when it comes to helping someone out." He replied, putting the supplies and setting the box on the other side of him. He spotted a ghost of a smile on the other's lips, thinking maybe some progress was actually being made and Jaebum didn't make a total fool of himself. Yet. "You're right, maybe some good could happen." He watched with curious eyes as the vampire cleaned his wounds, black substance smeared on the wipe as he thoroughly dug in. "Did you want to call anyone? To tell them you're all right?"
{ a tsundere yifan is great tbhhh also poor jae lmao }
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ without meaning to, yifan's eyes lowered down in a hazy glare. he thought of it as quite ridiculous, not seeing things thoroughly or predicting what mishaps they'd encounter in the future. that feeling of uncertainty was foreign to him and he wasn't sure if he was up for the ride. nevertheless, he wasn't in the position to change that. he simply hoped that the other's judgement wasn't too unreliable and that he'll get through this unscathed. "i see... would be a rather big catastrophe if i were to get blood on your carpet, hm?" he questioned jokingly but with his frozen expressions, it probably didn't come through as one.
he scoffed. "extremely willing.. what do you mean by that? are you not describing yourself?" he raised his head out of shire astonishment but seized his head into the firm cushioning of the couch before he hindered the healing process anymore. he breathed in. "as long as you're willing, you won't be seeing me wandering the town like a savage. that includes anything to do with your abode." he pressed his lips together, almost blatant how displeased he was but simmered down as fast as the other's mouth could peep another word. he closed his eyes for a mere second, trying his hardest to suppress his ounce of irritation and not let it boil. it wasn't the time to prove himself innocent. "are you sure? you wouldn't want to get paid for your services and possible sacrifices?" he was in slight disbelief and he wasn't entirely certain if he knew the impact of his words. in his world, if somebody were to scratch his back, they expect the same for them. he kept his head high, not sure if he can fully trust his blurry intentions. "it's quite unfortunate. think of this as a chance encounter. perhaps.. something good will come out of this." he softly grinned. he wouldn't count on it but it seemed like the right thing to say to relieve any tension. "i suppose i gathered a little bit of strength. i think i can manage." he reached out a trembling hand with blood covering the crevices of his pointed nails without his knowledge. with a split-second curl of his slender fingers, he gestured him to give him the wipe.
(( i M DE AD THey're lowkey Getting along. i didn't mean to make yif a tsundere it just happened lol ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ { why am i getting the fE E LS already tho lmaooo }
Jaebum's eyes widened slightly from the vampire's words. He definitely hadn't thought ahead before he dragged the man into his home. What exactly had he gotten himself into? But that was a thought for another time, for now he would concentrate at the challenge at hand: tending to man's wounds. He'd go nuts from anxiety if he dwelled on it for too long, and being able to easily distract himself and think positive thoughts was his best trait. "That's for later down the road. For now, preventing you from becoming infected is the main priority. Rather not have you go on a killing spree and ruin my carpet with blood so..." Jaebum wasn't sure himself if he was joking, but jokes were never his strong suit.
It didn't surprise him if the vampire expected he wanted something in return. Humans have been greedy since the dawn of time. "The only thing I ask in return is for you not to go hunting at night around here. Unless the participant is...extremely willing." Jaebum wasn't a total naive person; he knew there were people out there with vampire es, not that he judged. "I can give you blood by going to the blood bank. Maybe don't steal or wreck the house," The corner of his mouth quirked up slightly. "Not that a human has any materialistic possession that a vampire needs. Other than that, I don't expect anything in return." A small smile appeared on Jaebum's lips from learning the man's name. "It's rather unfortunate we met under such circumstances, Yifan. It's nice to meet you though," He returned his attention to the medical supplies in front of him, finishing up the gauze he need and opened up a couple of more bacterial wipes. "I hope you don't mind just going along with this. I know vampires have healing factors and all that, but it'll give me peace of mind." He took one of wipes, his gaze looking back at Yifan. "Would you like me to do clean the wounds on your neck, or can you manage?" He didn't want to intrude on the man's personal space, and seeing how they were strangers to one another it was better to ask.
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ he continued resting but his eyes kept actively observing the human's actions carefully. although, he wasn't sure if this was all necessary, he wasn't able to refuse the sentiment. so he just stayed still and waited what was about to happen, which isn't like him as someone who's calculated and in-the-know. his brows dipped, unsure if he was able to understand his justification. "even if it'll get you killed...?" his voice firm, stable despite his thoughts messy and erratic. wasn't he being a little too naive for his own good? really, he would've turned a blind eye and not get involved himself. nobody has helped him unless it was someone appointed to do so. so doing this out of shear kindness, he doesn't get the meaning. "so you expect something back, is what you're suggesting?" he asked, far too invested for his own liking. maybe this wasn't out of generosity after all.
he looked over as a foul smell entered his nose unexpectedly, he frowned. disgusting, he thought to himself. for once, he felt pity for humans having to use this distasteful liquid to clean their wounds. he plopped his head to the side lazily, his arm supporting it as he continued watching him prepare the cotton gauzes. he blinked a few times and repeated back his name in his head, nodding silently after. "yifan. you can call me yifan." he blurted, not thinking much after admitting his name, there wasn't any consequences running through his head in any way. his eyes glanced at the other's with his lower lip bitten. "pleasure." he politely whispered as a sort of gesture for them slowly getting more acquainted.
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum sat down next to the man, keeping a polite distance from him. He kept quiet, glancing over at the man as he wiped the blood from his wounds. His eyes went back to his little box supplies, finally spotting some cotton gauze and disinfectant. "I saw a man laying out in the street. Hurt. It seemed like the right thing to do." Maybe not the smart thing, but that wasn't important at the moment. Jaebum has been classified as naive, gullible, and overall too optimistic for the kind of world they lived in. And it was true to an extent. Sometimes he believed people too easily, and thought the best of most but he couldn't do anything about that mentality. It was so innate to him and familiar as well. "I like to think people would have returned the offer."
He wrapped a few inches of the gauze, and cut off sections of it with a little pair of scissors he had in the box. Next, we opened up the small patches of disinfectant wipes. The heavy smell of antiseptic invading his nostrils causing his nose to wrinkle slightly. "Ah," He suddenly turned towards the man, "I'm Jaebum by the way. But, you can me Jae if you'd like." Jaebum pursed his lips slightly before speaking again, "Can you at least tell me your name...?" Even if Jaebum wanted to find out more about why the man was attacked, he realized it was best to start off introductions. Baby steps. His gaze was open and friendly, brown orbs settling on the man in front of him. "Or an alias if you're more comfortable with that?"
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ he feared the silence was inevitable as the conversation retreated into some sort of series of misunderstandings. the endless stories of the past, it was too soon to delve into. he wasn't in the right to share them, specifically to someone who he just met, and burden him than he already has. he continued to sigh, his efforts of building a shield of his subconscious growing as time went on. frustrated, agitated, he tried really hard to see the bright side of things but he has been in the dark for so long that even thinking of a hopeful future was impossible for him. he laid comfortable, possibly frozen, as his features relaxed. his body planted itself on the couch as the healing process began to forward, pleased that was at least going accordingly.
he peeked over, his brow lifting, as the other left the room unexpectedly, possibly running away from the poor bloodsucker. he wouldn't blame him because of the headstrong attitude he was giving. he must've given up taking care of him and after going back and forth. whatever it was, it left a bad taste in his mouth. he looked the other way, folding his arms above the cuts that were slowly dissolving, and closed his eyes. he might as well take a nap if the other was done with him. he'd have to leave in the morning, check if there was other methods of transportation... he opened his eyes, a little surprised to see the human return.
not that he'd ever admit it, he was quite happy the other returned. that sense of loneliness and sadness almost took over his stagnant expression. thank god, he didn't see his vulnerable side or else he's really go out of his way to hide from the embarrassment. he shyly took the towel and rubbed the material against his face, slowly but surely cleaning the gunk. without another word, the human went to another room. he continued freshening himself up despite his conflicted emotions. he was so covered by the dirt and the blood that the whites of his hair was overshadowed, now that he was able to clean himself, his features were finally coming to light. his curious opalescent eyes observed the numerous supplies, nodding in agreement. "whatever will relieve this dilemma." his voice, still firm, as he continued erasing the blood from his neck. "why are you helping me..." he was intrigued but confused.
(( im ready for the soffness to begin tho asdfghj !!! ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ { bring on all the future fights lmaoo }
'Oh, bad move.' Jaebum thought to himself when the vampire appeared to become even more agitated with his forwardness. He watched silently as the vampire attempted to maneuver himself in a better position, wanting to rush forward to help but held himself back as he suspected the gesture would be greatly unappreciated. He gulped from the serious implication that there serious things going that him as human would know nothing about, and it left him incredibly uneasy. He stayed glued next to the countertop that faced his living room, biting back a retort from how a mere human wouldn't understand whatever the hell was going on.
There was eerie silence between the two. Jaebum felt he had no right to further push the subject, should he actually anger the vampire and all hell breaks loose (figuratively, he hopes). Even from how still the vampire held himself, similar to a marble statue almost, he could tell the man was unwilling to divulge any other information. There was no point in further investigating at the moment. His energy was depleting, and Jaebum suspected it wouldn't be long before he was feeling weak again and in need of more blood. He stared at dirt and blood smeared on his face, especially on the slowly healing wounds. He didn't know if vampires were prone to regular bacterial infections, but better safe than sorry.
Jaebum wet a clean kitchen towel with lukewarm water, wringing it thoroughly before he walked back towards the vampire, laying the dampened towel next to the man. "Here, so you can clean up your face a bit. I'll be back with more supplies." He said softly, turning back without waiting for an answer before he headed to his bedroom. He kept his medical supply kit somewhere in his closet, and it took him a few minutes of rummaging around before he finally found it. He popped it open, and saw it still had various things inside. Enough to clean up the man's wounds at least. Jaebum walked back towards the living room, one hand propped underneath the box while the other searched for some gauze. He spoke with his gaze down as he continued to look, "Probably a good idea to deep clean the bite wounds. I don't want them to heal and then the infection could get trapped inside, and I think you would rather avoid that."
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ his expression came out bitter, but really, he was trying his hardest to grasp that the human didn't understand what he's got himself into. he had a deep burdening feeling of guilt. it was all but new to him, and that sign of purity within his mind just made him feel a little more agitated. there was too much to explain behind the inner workings of the human and vampire's vastly different worlds, it quite difficult to get into it without feeling that terrible resentment eating up his logic.
he wasn't that surprised the other cursed under his breath, he felt the exact same way. he huffed. "yes, no hunters. there's no need for them. if we want to successfully carry on with our lives, we can do it on our own." he gathered all mustered up strength and sat up, consuming the blood did wonders. but he still wasn't able to move his legs and flee. but the amount of progress was encouraging, he didn't feel as angry as he was before. his voice mellowed out, relaxed as well as his stature did behind the couch's cushion. he glanced down at nothing in particular. "unfortunately there's much more. a lot more." he nodded affirmatively. his hands laid on top of each other as he faced the other with intense eyes. "yes, i was alone. alone enough that my breathing was clear and my shadow was the only thing i could focus on." his features laid stagnant as he knows the change of stature would frighten the poor human - and that's the last thing he needed if he wanted to recover in his home. he his teeth despite the sentiment, "i'd be careful deepening your thoughts. if it wasn't for me, that creature would've been undetected... and yes, a good reason you just wouldn't understand." he replied coldly, it was for the better if he didn't know - that information at least.
(( didn't mean to make this so long LOL i love stubborn jae tho, yif is also stubborn.. this is not gonna end well y ikes :"D ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ { /cheers/ stand up to him jae cx a soff who is stubborn }
Instead of feeling frightened from the harsh, sharp tone of the man, he was more concerned about the fact how he mentioned about keeping both of their lives. He wanted to ask what the hell that meant when he was given more to ponder about it. Suddenly, he felt very out of his depth. Admittedly, didn't know much about vampire affairs or the politics of the hunters, but a chill ran down his spine from the insinuation that there was more to this world than he had initially thought.
"..." Jaebum whispered. He stood up, gathering the discarded blood pouches and threw them into the garbage and disregarded there was no bag inside the bin. He had other things to worry about. He was fairly certain the man was just fine, despite the numerous slashings, and there was no risk of him being infected. "Okay, so no alerting the hunters..." He murmured more to himself, staring down at his bloody hands and inwardly cringed. He washed his hands quickly, breathing a bit more easily once he dried his hands. "There's more to this right?" Jaebum addressed the man more directly. He had a feeling there was it was better than tiptoeing around. His gaze was steady as he quietly regarded the man, "You were alone when you attacked." Jaebum was thinking aloud at this point, "So why would a vampire, knowing full well infected were most active at night, go out alone?" He stepped closer, lips pursued in thought, a part of himself thinking he shouldn't pry on the subject but his stubbornness wouldn't listen. "There had to be a good reason you were out there."
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ great. he couldn't help but frown at the other's response, displeased for he didn't understand what situation he got himself into. he growled, tried to suppress his anger but- he couldn't help but burst into a bitter expression. "you think that's fast? i don't have much time if we both plan on keeping our lives." his words were vague but to the point. he should've just left his body to rot. now that he was under his care, he was going to be tied into his affairs whether he was willing to or not. and that just puts him more in a stressful situation than ever before. but he digresses, he can't afford to stress right now.
the words escaping from his venomous lips were regaining its prior smoothness, his regeneration was working faster than expected which put his anger and mind at ease. "it would've been well-deserved, believe me." he said coldly, looking down at the gashes scattered all around his body. he scoffed. "you think the hunters will help us? if that were the case, we wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place. if they saw me, knowing that an infected has attacked me, wouldn't i just be another name in their death list?" he bit his lower lip softly. he has a feeling he was already in their death list, for he knows his family well. "let me regain my strength first..." he sighed.
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum felt the intense stare of the man for a few seconds, suddenly very conscious of his frail humanity. He wasn't sure if the vampire was a friendly, considering the state he was in, but he figured it was best to tread lightly for now. Even if Jaebum believed not all vampires were monsters like some, he couldnt be too careful. "A week? That's pretty fast considering how ed up you look." The human grimaced when the words left his mouth so easily; so much for treading lightly. Curse his no-filter.
The vampire already drowned the pouch and easy as water, feeling a bit squeamish at the sight of how blood trickled down the side of his mouth. He cleared this throat turning his attention instead thi the damage that the man sustained on his body, "You're lucky you weren't completely torn apart by it. They're...completely insane and monstrous. They say vampires are the ones to fear, but they clearly haven't seen an infected." He shook his head lightly, cutting open the third packet and handing over to the man. "Do you remember where you were when attacked? If it was close to town I have to warn the hunters. It could be after the humans here, and then we'd totally be screwed."
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ the injured vampire didn't pay too close attention to the welcoming human, for his mind was running on thoughts of worry and stress. but he tried to simmer his thoughts down, trying to avoid overworking his mind if he wanted to regenerate himself in a timely matter. he the bloody remnants off his lips, but it still wasn't enough. his body ended up molding into the couch, upset. despite agitated, he listened closely to the other's words, taking note that it was indeed his blood. he also noted the way he articulated his sentences, examining the silent pauses closely. he could hear the nervousness wavering in his voice and for that he smirked to himself. he was as harmless as a fly with his current state and all. he didn't even have the power to grab the stranger's neck and dip his fangs for a little nibble if he wanted to. somehow he found himself flattered.
nine packets, he thought to himself. "that'll speed the recovery immensely.. but it'll take me a week if any." he sighed deeply. his injuries were so severe that he couldn't exactly predict when he'll be able to return back to his feet. he hoped for the best, despite the catastrophe that was going inside his head, the thought of his family finding out where he was - he doesn't have time to waste but... he has no choice but to rest. he stared at the packet, snatching it again from his hands. he was desperate but he found his desire of blood urgent. he gulped until the last drop and cleaned any remains with his tongue sloppily. he coughed at the mention of the earlier event, back to being composed. "some creature attacked me... it was so dark, i couldn't recollect their features. i'm certain.. it wasn't human." his voice was returning back to normal, a good sign, but it was still hoarse and rough. "infected? they must've been delusional enough to even attack me..." his brows furrowed slightly.
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ Jaebum wasn't aware of have /fast/ the vampire's movements could, even in a such a state of he was. He jumped back a bit when the punch was snatched very quick out of his hand, denying that a small squeak of surprise rushed past his lips. He gaped slightly when the man completely emptied the pouch within seconds, Jaebum passing a glance at the other two packets he had taken with him. Somehow he had a feeling it wouldn't be enough; luckily, he had a few backups. His eyes snapped back to the man when he tried to get up from the couch, Jaebum immediately shaking his head but before he could get any words out the man had collapsed back into the couch.
The young man tried /very/ hard for his gaze not to linger on the menacing, blood stained fangs. A natural panic of prey beginning to build within him, but he shut that down real fast. There was no time to waver. Jaebum meekly nodded his head, "Um--yeah. It's mine..." Did he owe him an explanation of why he had random packets of blood in his fridge? No, but somehow gave it anyway. "Just...keep them in case of emergencies, and stuff. Yeah--" He mumbled, inwardly cringing at himself. He reached for another pouch of blood and snipped the corner of it, "I have about, maybe, 9 packets for you." He lifted and pouch and gave it to the man. "I don't even know how long you were out there bleeding," Jaebum stopped short when he saw the vicious wounds on the man's neck, his eyes widening as he leaned closer. "What the hell even tried to bite you? That isn't normal, right?" And then suddenly, the word popped into his head before Jaebum could finish his sentence. The realization striking him in the chest, hard. "One of the infected?"
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ he continued to lay unconscious, vulnerable in the alleyway with no one to turn to. or so he thought. he felt a moment of realization as his body was dragged along the rough pavement. was he being rescued by the stranger? the humiliation, he could only imagine the disappointment on his family's disapproving face. the vampire, being helped by the likes of a human in a state of need. preposterous, disgusting. he wouldn't bare their acidic and judgmental words, not only targeted towards him but the human that was kind enough to notice him, to take him in. he was tired of the hypocritical world he used to be a part of. it was about time to make his own opinion towards the opposing race and hopefully this experience will turn out to be a good one. but unable to protest this chain of events, his gaze darkened.
a vampire never dreamed. all they ever did was the blood of unwanted donors dry and live day after day in their own form of hell. the amount of times he was pressured to raid a human's home with his coven encouraging him right behind him, supporting such a cruel act- anyone would've turned a rough path after that. it just took him a handful of years of stalking his prey to see the humility behind their blind stereotypes he was so fond with. and for the first time in his life, he felt fearful of his future. with a sudden change of his plans, what will he become when he awakens? he was conflicted. he hated what he was feeling about his unforeseen future but it felt as if he were alive, funnily enough.
red, a weak tinge of iron right beneath his nose. he took a short-lived sniff before he awakened, demonic eyes shot open, and his clawed fingers snatched the packet instantaneously chugging it in a matter of seconds. predictably, the packet became empty and he landed back to reality from his high. despite the lack of taste, he felt a bit healthier as his skin began regenerating slightly faster, even able to let him speak. with somber eyes glancing at the human waiting beside him, he opened his mouth which showcased his pretty whites and protruding fangs.
"w-was that yours?" he croaked, his voice still shot after the trauma done to his neck. he briefly scanned the quaint home, vision still foggy. thinking he was in a safe environment, he then tried to sit up on the couch but failed right after and weakly stumbled back onto the couch. he frowned to himself. weak... his mind continued chanting, he felt like breaking down but he still kept a strong enough facade that, hopefully, the human didn't see past. "it'll take me a while... to return to a healthy... enough state. without blood." he explained, taking long pauses as his mouth began drying, missing the taste of iron swirling his tongue already.
(( it was definitely a lot shorter imo but i still cry LOL it's fine sweets <3 ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ ᵛ { okay that wasn't any shorter im sorry lmao }
A startled noise left Jaebum when a pair of red eyes stared back at him, as if they were glaring but they also looked a bit dazed. 'Definitely a vampire...' Jaebum thought to himself, his body having gone very still. For a moment, he thought this whole "dead body" thing had definitely been a rouse to leer a human for feeding, and when a hand suddenly appeared on his neck it just scared the living out of him. Jaebum visibly jumped from cold hand settling around on him, pulling back a few inches before he realized the vampire had passed out again. Jaebum breathed heavily for a few seconds before, eyes having gone wide from the sudden fear that coursed through his body.
Once he was able to calm down a bit and regulate his breathing, Jaebum leaned closer to the body again. He couldn't check if he was still breathing, because vampires obviously didn't breathe. There was only one thing to do for now: get him inside the house. He couldn't just leave him out here in the back of the alleyway, someone else would discover him and he imagines would even have a worse experience than he did. So, the man carefully walked around the body, pausing for a few seconds before sighing. "Here goes nothing..." Jaebum grabbed the vampire from underneath his arms, and attempted to drag him towards his back door. The guy was basically deadweight.
Jaebum then heard some commotion, his eyes automatically widening when he saw some figures at the opening of the alleyway. Too far too identify, but still too close for his likening. It automatically spurred him into action, heaving the vampire a bit more upright and his arms coming around to lock around the other's chest. After a few seconds, he was able to enter his home again and the dragged the stranger through his living room and gently set him down on his couch. Jaebum quickly turned off the porch light, peeking out the window as he heard the voices get closer. He immediately drew the blinds, and waited. The voices eventually passed by, allowing Jaebum to breathe more easily. His next thought, blood.
Jaebum headed over to the fridge, taking out a pocket of some O positive he had. The most common type, so hopefully the vampire wasn't a picky eater. He snipped a corner of the packet, before he stopped and thought for a moment. He then grabbed another couple of packets, and headed back towards the couch. He carried his scissors with him just in case. There really wasn't much he could do to the wounds that covered the vampire's body, he assumed the other had healing factors and he expected getting some human blood would hurry along the process as well. Jaebum then kneeled down next to the man, the faint smell of iron tickling his nostrils as he lifted the pouch and placed it right under the vampire's nose. Hopefully the scent would get him conscious enough to drink from the pouch.
@ɪᴍ ᴊᴀᴇʙᴜᴍ ʰ the future seemed dark, lackluster as his ideals began shattering down, an inexplicable avalanche-like effect as he continued dissecting his former beliefs. specifically, the beliefs that he was bought upon. it began.. fading into a meaningless existence and he didn't quite understand why. he didn't feel like himself anymore as his changed attitude towards humans began changing, evolving than the simple yet ignorant ideas his family brainwashed him to believe. the torture, the unfair use of their blood. to think he was the one supervising such acts of violence towards humans and even vampires that betrayed the nocte lineage. he pressed his forehead with rough hands as his grand study began closing in on him. there were eyes on him, that he knows. they could sense his change of heart without a doubt. he held his head high, facing the door. that little tinge of reluctance pulled him back but before he could listen, he was already out of the facility. he better escape before it's too late.
it was around dusk since he left the coven in a private car of his own. he planned on staying with relatives that were exiled and out of touch, deeming it a safe bet than living with nothing but worries crawling his very skin. it was an impulsive act but he couldn't go back to that suffocating environment he came from, not anymore. he was going against his family wishes, most would be certainly surprised. that once obedient child was no more. something in him snapped as he sped through the highway until late at night where he felt he was long away from his past life. he found himself in unfamiliar territory, but he still remained calm as he glanced at the street sign before him.
he was near his destination but he didn't continue further. with his car at least. he left his vehicle behind, thinking it was an easy indication to where he was. and that's the opposite of what he wanted. he covered himself with a long ebony trench coat and continued his way through the array of stores until.. a chill crept up his spine. there was another vampire with him. his eye shined a bright crimson light as he turned around and found a creature that had similarities to him but was completely rabid. he fought the abnormal being with all his might but he was chewed up after showing a glimpse of weakness. the last thing he remembered was the flickering light just a few feet from where his body was dumped unforgivable.
the pain began surging his very existence, his blood splurged throughout his body completely. the pain wasn't at all his concern however, he was quite used to it since childhood, but the separating gashes were of top worry. he was completely rid of his powers, so much so that he firmly believed regeneration was going to take weeks if he didn't intake blood soon. and weeks wasn't part of the plan, neither was feeding on unexpected humans. he felt weak as he laid unconscious on the pavement, his blood probably covering it and marking it its territory.
the night was more or less silent, just the way he always liked it. the moonlight as well as the artificial light shined his face brilliantly, flaunting his classy features. but he didn't count on it as a beacon of hope. otherwise, he found it pleasing and comforting despite the traumatic event his body was currently facing. his eyes started closing shut as he tried regenerating bit by bit, nothing too drastic was happening however. he was completely focused and in his element until he was interrupted by a set of footsteps. surprised, he remained still but listened in to the footsteps that were inching near his body. he felt the figure's sympathy in his voice. what he didn't expect was his warm hands gripping on his shoulder and giving a hard shake. he found it funny but his expression remained cold.
he continued pestering him to awaken so he did so, finally aiding to his dire requests. he opened his eyes, shooting him a bloody and intimidating glare-- and before he could dare to speak, he dropped his head to the crevice of the stranger's neck. weak.. weak.. he fainted and laid delicately like dormant butterflies seizing rest for the night. never in his life has he ever felt so very weak...
(( i ENDEd upp writing a bit too dw and let's shorten this before i die from novella LOL ))
@ᴡᴜ ʏɪғᴀɴ The moon was already high in the sky, shining brightly through the clouds and scattering light everywhere as he exited his store. He had stayed behind mostly to update accounting books, and take care of office matters. His store closed by 7 o'clock in the evening, and it was half past nine now. He knew he shouldn't stay out much longer, so Jaebum decided to pack it up and call it a day. He made sure everything was locked correctly before he headed home; the nights were beginning to turn a bit chill, fall just around the corner know. Jaebum quite liked the cold though, despised the heat as it made him anxious and restless. The cold he could handles. The young man didn't own a vehicle, so he mostly walked and took public transportation everywhere. His routine didn't cary much nor did he usually travel far, so he thought it useless he needed a car. Plus, Jaebum only lived a few blocks away from the store; didn't take more than 10 to 15 minutes to get to his place. The streets weren't as lively around this time, but there still some people going to and from with a few cars passing by every couple of minutes. Most avoided being out late to avoid being attacked, either by vampires or humans. It's why he always carried a form of protection on him, and tonight was no exception, but he always hoped he wouldn't have to use it. He doesn't know if he could stomach that sort of thing.
Jaebum shivered when a gust of wind rushed past him, his thin jacker doing little to keep him warm. He's was minutes away from the house though, thinking about what he could eat when he got home. He hadn't eaten since noon, so it was probably a good idea to get something in his system. The man saw the familiar street lamps as he approached his home, slipping his keys out from his pocket with a small sigh. Every time he entered his home, he couldn't help but expect to be greeted by his mother with a peck on his cheek and his father gripping his shoulder. But, it was empty. He stood in the entrance for a few seconds before closing the door behind him, and hanging the keys up on the hook. Jaebum flicked on the lights, illuminating the family portraits on the walls, but paying them no mind as he made his way to the kitchen. He opened up the fridge, trying to think of what he could whip up real quick. He was never the greatest cook, his mother having taken many hours trying to teach him the art, but he never quite master it but it was good enough to get him by years after. Finally, Jaebum settled on some leftover bibimbap and a simple sandwich; didn't quite go together, but he really didn't feel like cooking a whole meal. As he gathered his ingredients and made his way towards the counter, Jaebum accidentally bumped into something making him stumble a bit. He looked down with his furrowed eyebrows, eyes landing on a full trash bin. 'Ah', he suddenly remembered, 'Need to take out the trash.' He carefully set down the ingredients on the table, and bent down to pick up the bin. There was an alleyway right behind his house where all the garbage bins were lined up for the block, just wide enough for the trucks to drive through.
He the back porch light as he exited, the bulb flickering to life. It was quite dark in the alleyway, no street lights to illuminate it whatsoever. The only source coming from the dying bulb of his porch, he would have to change it soon. Jaebum nearly missed the lumped figure a few feet away from him when he lifted the lid and threw the bag in, only catching sight of something when he absently looked over. Jaebum stopped short, his eyes still adjusting to low light. It took him a few seconds, but he could faintly see the outline of...a person? "What the hell..." He whispered to himself. Was the darkness playing tricks on him? He wasn't sure. Jaebum very carefully placed the lid down and the bin, and silently crept closer. It wasn't the smartest idea. What if the person jumped up and attacked him? He had an idea. Jaebum took his phone from his back pocket, quickly turning on the flashlight to see better. He shined the bright white light in the general direction he saw the shadowy figure. It felt as if somebody had squeezed his lungs of any air, not even emitting a sound of shock as his eyes widened in a mix of surprise and fear.
That was definitely someone on the ground...and totally dead.
Jaebum didn't even scream the shock, simply too stunned from sight. 'Oh my god, what the hell am I gonna do?' He thought to himself, not even realizing he was already inching closer to the body. There was no movement from the stranger on the floor, and once up close, it looked like they weren't even breathing. So, there were two possibilities: 1) the stranger on the ground was human and dead, 2) it was a vampire (maybe even playing injured?). There was only one way to find out. Once Jaebum was close enough, within reaching distinct, he flashed the flashlight right onto the figure. It was a man, blood covering just about every inch of him. And there was blood all over the floor as well...but the blood wasn't red. It was a very dark color, nearly black, and there several bite wounds on his neck. Jaebum suddenly felt very queasy, swallowing nervously. "Shiiit..." He breathed. He tried very hard to suddenly pass out.
So...judging from the blood...this guy was a vampire. But how the hell was he so deep into human territory? And why were there bite marks on his neck? How did he get by unnoticed? About a million questions buzzed through his mind, but he tried to focus on the facts. If this guy was a vampire, he was probably unconscious at the moment and very weak. He knew the vampire wasn't dead, it takes a lot a more to kill one. Very carefully, Jaebum kneeled onto the ground next to the unconscious man, ignoring the puddle of dark liquid beneath him. The man was on his back, looking deathly still. He reached out with a hand, and shook the stranger by the arm to try and get him awake. He then thought, maybe it isn't a good idea to wake a weak vampire who probably need blood?
"Hey..." No response. Jaebum shook the man a little hard by the shoulders this time, hovering above him. "Hey! Can you hear me?" His fingers were sticky with blood already. He spotted a head wound as well. It was no use to take him to a hospital. "Come on, man. You gotta wake up!" Jaebum vaguely remembered he had a few pouches of blood in his fridge, for a friend of his, maybe the guy would wake up if he poured some of it done his throat?
