it has been almost a month since shuhua arrived at magnolia springs but it seems like something was missing. she had no friends. the application the town offers is no help for her. she doesn't know the technology much, and she is more traditional than an ordinary person in today's time. every vessel she had taken was not fond of tech, which is why she was having a hard time socializing. however, the main reason she doesn't have friends is because of her cold demeanor. she had no formal education but she enjoyed reading history books in the public library. she wasn't that smart but she can stand on her own so whenever she tries to make friends, she appears to be so boastful, sometimes even shrugging people away even though that was just her being shy. ah yes, the classic 'tsundere'. who would have thought that a proud goddess was someone who is just putting up a front due to her trauma? is that reasonable? for inari, it was. she had to survive on her own without anyone she can depend on she had walls so high even birds are unable to cross. nevertheless, since coming to the magical town, she wants to change and make at least 5 friends.
that is why she got a job in floristry. as a florist, she was not an expert, but she relished the scent of the flowers, the aroma of different plants, and the beautiful petals that she sees. with her soft delicate hands, she put the hyacinths in their proper place before peeking outside the glass window of the store. "am i going to do a good job today?" she whispered to herself as her finger gently touch the petals of the rose she was going to put in a new vase today. before she could put herself in a lonely place again, she mustered herself up and practiced smiling friendlier as she waits for customers.
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Mornings on the weekends were, thankfully, not too busy. That allowed Dannie to have plenty of time to water the plants, arrange bouquets, and make sure the shop looked its best. During the week, however, she didn't have that luxury, so she certainly enjoyed the break when able. Dannie had just finished up with a sale when she heard the all-too-familiar 'ding' of the front door, signaling that a new customer had entered. As always, the unicorn slipped out from behind the counter to greet the person with a dazzling smile. Said smile only widened once she realized where she recognized the blond from. "Felix? Hi and welcome! I hope you didn't have any trouble finding the place."
@dannie r。ᵏᵉᵉᵖᶦᵗʳᶦᵉˡ The flower shop was in a different part of town. Or, at least, a part of town that the angel hasn't had much time to explore. Between settling in, taking his sweet time learning about Earth and about the beings that call it home, as well as managing a shop of his own, Felix soon realized he hadn't been doing much other than working and staring at a screen all day. It was good to finally get out, to walk around and explore before heading down to the florist to meet with Dannie. This would be the first time they've met in person, the angel belatedly realizes as his hand grasps the door handle, pulling it open and listening to the bell chime with his entrance. Clear blue eyes scan around curiously, full of wonder and awe at all the blossoms that are currently on display. The roses always seemed to draw him in, though. They were his favorite, after all.
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ "yes, you came at the right time," felix agrees with a warm smile. "we do have some potted plants so we can start there. if you would, please follow me and i'll show you the ones that we have. i think there's a sale on some of them too." nudging his head in a direction over his shoulder before he turns and begins heading in that direction. there's a section mainly tucked over to towards the front of the shop, near the giant floor-to-ceiling window that allowed a lot of sunlight to flow in. however, since it was winter, there was very little sunlight so felix had to install some light fixtures above it as a substitute for the time being. "okay, so this one is called calibrachoas. they thrive in containers and other pots, definitely don't recommend growing them in the ground. they take at least 6 hours of sunlight a day before liking to be shaded afterwards. next there are geraniums, which come in two different colors; dark red and white watermelon. you can easily put these flowers in larger pots and out on the front porch during the warmer seasons but you definitely need to bring them in before the frost arrives. marigolds are my personal favorite for potted flowers, though. they come in gold, yellow, maroon, and many more - and luckily, we have a several colors in stock as you can see. for marigolds, i recommend a good quality soil to grow these in that can drain easily. and then last but not least, this is hydrangeas. they're very easy to grow. this flower also comes in a variety of colors but right now, the only colors available are champagne, lilac, and deep pink."
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ "well, you've come to the right place," felix smiles sweetly at him while retracting his hand. "do you have a speicific flower in mind? or are you just looking for something random? if so, feel free to look around picks some out for yourself. we have a sale going on since we're trying to get rid of some back-stock. though i'd be happy to show you some of my personal favorites if you prefer?" having a knack for flowers, and thoroughly decorating his cottage's garden with them, he could surely say that he's a bit of what humans call a 'flower enthusiast'. as much as the guardian wanted to tell his friend about the harassment he's endured for a few weeks, he doesn't want to worry the other male even further. people have seemed to take advantage in his lack of proper knowledge, which ends up making him painfully gullible, and his friend is usually there to block their words. if he found out the people were poking fun at him during work hours? he's not quite sure what the reaction would be... "i'm sure they'll definitely continue no matter who tells them off. oh," a small startled noise leaves his lips as the slip of paper is quickly ed at him, making the angel fumble a little in surprise before taking it with a small laugh then continuing; "i don't think i've ever made a friend this fast, but i am very delighted, jaehyun. i would be honored to be your friend."
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ "hm, well, i suppose that's an easy judgement to make but given my... responsibilities, i'm afraid it's against my very being to exude anything negative." felix admits carefully, gaze shifting elsewhere for a brief second before returning to the male in front of him. "are you new here? i haven't seen you around before - and pretty much everyone from magnolia comes to my shop on a daily. regardless, you're here a flower, yes? is there anything in particular you're looking for? i'll do my best to help." then suddenly there's a hand stretching out towards him making the guardian give a pause as he stares down at it. what was this? was this another form of greeting that he hasn't come across yet? what should he go in response? felix tilts his head to the side while intently studying jaehyun's palm then hesitantly reaches out with his own to take it, hoping that this was the correct response and no awkward or unfortunate ending would come about. "it's nice to meet you, jaehyun. i guess my question from earlier was answered - so with that said, welcome to magnolia. they have been harassing me for quite some time but... i've never told anyone." for a second, the angel's thoughts drift to his only friend, a playful imp, and he finds himself shaking his head. he does not want to arouse any worry from his friend so he doesn't plan on saying anything. "they're doing it because i don't have much... knowledge or common sense, as humans like to call it. apparently, they think i'm dumb."
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ it wasn't very often that felix came across a kind soul or someone who would be willing to silent the murmurs spreading about him. he's come across a few people here and there not including the little group of elderly women that frequent the shop just to coddle him so he can't help but be appreciative to those who choose to ignore what others have to say about him - who actually see through the white lies. "well, i appreciate your help," felix made sure to make his gratitude could be heard, "i'm afraid i'm too polite to really say anything to them much less kick them out of my store.. i feel like it would only worsen what they have to say about me. they might just twist the story around so i'm not sure.. what i could do."
the stranger was getting.. rather passionate about this whole topic. it causes the guardian to stare up at him, sort of wide-eyed with a stunned look. sure he's seen others get upset about it as well but nothing quite like this before. the hands on his shoulders, gripping gently yet firmly, startled the angel at first - after all, he was still so new when it came to physical touches and affection and has only allowed someone to touch him if that person was a certain dear friend of his - but he soon realizes that the man before him means no harm. just got a little excited, 'tis all. "no need to apologize. it's quite alright," he assures with a kind smile, head tilting to the side. "my name is felix. it's nice to meet you."
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ it wasn't his fault that he had lost his memory over the years. the training felix had to endure to become a guardian, to discover his abilities, was not.. ideal and he wouldn't wish it upon everyone. it was straining, cruel, and overall just not a good experience. it messed with his mind and the memories there - and it's an experience felix would never want to share with anyone out of fear that they might see him less for what/who he is. and still... people who don't know him are quick to judge. they're quick form opinions on him because of one incident at the market.
it was around the time when felix first arrived to magnolia with absolutely zero knowledge about how human life had adapted and evolved over the past few millenniums. armed with only the memories of his experiences in heaven and the single vague memory of his past human life, felix had no clue about a thing and was completely unprepared the second his feet touched the ground. hell, he didn't even know how a door worked and stood there for two hours before finally figuring out that he needed to turn the knob and push (in heaven, there was no such things as walls, windows, or doors so this was a whole new concept for him). not to mention felix came to earth expecting to be immune to any human sickness and disease only to grow pretty ill at the fact that he didn't have any water or food for two whole weeks upon his arrival; completely forgetting that his body is still very much human despite being a guardian now.
the incident at the market was when someone from the app had told him to go there to get some water. however, felix not knowing any social norms, had approached the cashier asking him what water was. the cashier thought he was joking at first but when he realized felix was being serious, the man just stared blankly at him before shoving a whole bunch of water bottles into his arms free of charge. the angel originally thought it out to be a kind gesture however... seeing as the incident spread around fairly quickly, he came to realize that the cashier must've said something to others.
there was another voice joining on the conversation, making him perk up with curiosity. he tries to look busy and like he wasn't honing in on the entire thing but he's sure it looked obvious despite having his back towards them. he turned his head to look over towards the door when its opened and spots the two woman leaving the store rather quickly. felix watches them go with slightly wide eyes before turning around completely, clear circassian blue irises peering around the store imploringly before spotting the man that stood where the girls once were. he blinks slowly, long lashes fluttering against heavily freckled cheeks while trying to process the fact that a stranger had seemingly stood up for him.
"um," he mumbles lamely and slowly put the unfinished bouquet down on the counter, "you.. didn't need to do that, sir. but thank you."
@jaehyun j。–ʲʲᵃᵉʰʸᵘⁿ he's getting the hang of things. gradually. at his own pace. there's still so many (so, so many) things felix has yet to even grasp, he's trying to remain optimistic about it. as optimistic as he /can/ be, at least. he knows his... lack of knowledge has earned a few rumors around town. the guardian caught wind of the whispers and what people would say about him in hushed tones. he knew what people thought of him. they don't even know him. they don't know what he's been through, what brought him to this stage in his life, and still... ah, there's no use thinking too deeply into the grand scheme of things. he's here for one reason only; to find the soul he's meant to protect. however long that may take... he still has no idea who it is yet.
"oh, there he is," a hushed whisper off to his right has felix pausing with a strained ear. two females were standing at the other end of the store, near the exit, and huddle together as if trying to make it look like they were trying to keep warm in an already warm shop. "did you hear about the fiasco in the market a couple nights ago? idiot didn't even know what water was. who doesn't know what water is?"
"he's so dumb." the second girl snorts. "i'm surprised he knows how to walk. do you think he knows his abcs?"
"you want to go ask?"
the subtle tingle of anxiety curls around his throat and he tries to keep his focus on the bouquet he's building rather than the sound of their laughter. he lets out a sigh, closes his eyes, and attempts to clear his head. 'ignore them,' he thought to himself. 'they don't know you. they don't understand you. that's on them and not on you.'
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ "when i first discovered it, i actually had no idea what flower it was. however, over the years i've come to know more and more about this flower. it appears humans like the use it as a weapon more so than a healing agent. sure, it's a poison, but it doesn't mean it can't do good either." felix hums quietly and continues admiring the flower for a short moment before adding further, "for example, acotine was a Chinese medicine that helps aches and pain. it also helped sooth fevers. i know it's an odd flower to choose as my favorite but... there's a reason behind it, i assure you - and it's not for what you may think. maybe one day i'll tell you." blue irises flick up to the pair in front of him and he flashes a soft, almost sheepish smile. he's about to apologize for being so coy when a a few bills are handed towards him. he stares at the bills for a short moment before reaching out to place a warm hand atop of hyunjin's and gently pushes the money back as a kind smile stretches upon his brims. "well, consider this as a 'it's very nice to meet you in person as well' gift. the flower is free. next time sounds like a delight, hyunjin - i look forward to being able to meet you again. perhaps you can show some more of your magic tricks, yes?"
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin was definitely taken aback by such a choice of his favorite flower. Even more after the other explained its origins. He took a closer look at the said flowers and crinkled his nose up. "Yeah, I know these," he nodded more to himself, remembering the old times when people really cured and used the wolfsbane as means of protection. He sometimes felt bad for the poor wolves when they were attacked so savagely by humans or anyone with posable thumbs. It was no secret that Hyunjin was more fond of animals and inanimate objects than people to deal with, even though the human species fascinated him. "Although odd, it's your favorite," Hyunjin shrugged with a tight-lipped smile and took one of the flowers out. He fished for his very fancy wallet; the one from children section with a Velcro fastening of a very colorful bird print; and pulled out money to pay for the flower. "Ah, for you and for you," he said with a wider smile that already started to show his perfect teeth as he handed the money and the flower to Felix. "Take it as a... I don't know... 'It's very nice to meet you in person' gift," Hyunjin chuckled at his own silliness and shrugged. "Lame, I know, next time I'll do better," he promised.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ with an eager nod answering his request, the angels considerably relaxes and emits a low hum of content. his own journey of self-discovery is a bit of a trainwreck at the moment but at least he's making progress when it comes to learning more and more about the world surrounding him. it's slow progress, however it's still *progress* none the less. felix is learning new things day by day and although it confuses him a good half of the time, he's gradually taking bigger steps towards adapting comfortably.
"my favorite flower? that's an intriguing question. let me think for a moment." letting circassian irises scan the floor and all the various tubs and displays of different flowers, he doesn't come to a conclusion right away. it's only when his eyes land on a small bundle of flowers tucked away in a section with other similar flowers from the same family. slowly, felix approaches it and reaches out to gently caress its petals. "aconite... it's also known as monkshood or wolfsbane. don't let its pretty appearance fool you because the meaning of the flower actually means hatred and 'be cautious.' the reason why it was named wolfsbane is because shepherds in ancient greece laced bait and arrows with this flower to kill wolves."
this was the flower that felix had grown acquainted with for the first time that fateful night all those years ago. sitting in a meadow, plucking flowers and putting them in a basket was the only memory the angel has in regards to his past life as a human over three millenniums ago. he had seen this strikingly beautiful purple flower in a garden of pinks and yellows. the second he grew near to inspect, was the second a lycan had leaped through the trees. it was ironic, really, that he had perished right next to the flower that would be used against his killer's kind. perhaps that's where it had begun. a bit of a stretch honestly - there's no way his death inspired such an event - but it does seem coincidental now that he thinks about it.
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin nodded eagerly, his brain completely blocking out the semantic of the spoken request. He blindly and deafly agreed to show his papermen farm to someone he didn't even know. Whom he met for the first time in person incidentally. Nevertheless, the excitement didn't fade. He wanted to show his skills off, the ones he acquired naturally and not by granting himself wishes. Origami became his outlet years ago when he was still being handed down from owner to owner to grant greedy and foolish wishes of men and women that had no idea what toll one wish had on their lives.
"Oh, good," Hyunjin smiled as he his heel on the floor without much grace, more like with plenty of playfulness. He grew fond of calling the other Freckles as well, since the misspelled word thrown Felix's way from Hyunjin was their first ever indirect interaction in the chatroom of the Imperial app. "Hm,"Hyunjin hummed with interest as the other explained. It sounded amazing, vague but amazing. Having such a strong bond with something. Could he compare it to his paper crafts? Maybe. "Which one is your favourite, if I may ask?" Hyunjin made a roundabout the shop before coming back to the owner, to Felix and smiled.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ taking in the shocked expression, felix has to pause himself for a second and ponder if he had said something wrong perhaps. were his words misinterpreted? oh, no, that's definitely not want felix would've ever wanted. his mind begins racing, trying to come up with something to make up for anything he had done wrong and-- suddenly, hyunjin's face alights in nothing but pure joy and excitement. the angel pauses once more and blinks owlishly up at the taller male then realizes that, no, he didn't say anything wrong - in fact, he said the right thing apparently. relief washes over him and he quickly returns the wide smile with one of his own, head tilting to the side, resulting in a few of his starlight strands to fall over his eyes. "i don't know what an ant farm is but that sounds wonderful! i must see something as extraordinary as that! would that be possible?"
"oh, sure! freckles is just fine! i've come to adore the nickname, really." felix laughs, a merry sound that twinkles through the air, and lifts a hand to wave dismissively. "well, you can choose what you'd like to believe, hyunjin but i can assure you that i won't find you weird. at least, not in a bad way. weird can be good sometimes right? in the sense of being intriguing and interesting?" he watches hyunjin move around the shop with a sense of delight and sneaks a peak down at a bundle of yellow tulips at his side, fingers gently brushing over the smooth petals. "flowers and i have come a long, long way.. it would only make sense for me to continue the journey."
truth be told, felix died in a bed of flowers in his human life and even then, he held the foliage close to his chest. he found them beautiful, elegant, absolutely stunning and would often turn to them as his own way of communicating with others. and now, in this day and age, more flowers have been discovered; all with various meanings behind them. since felix was still struggling to adapt, and struggling even more to learn proper communication and social skills, flowers have once again become his major tool in talking to people.
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ "Ah," Hyunjin's voice gets trapped somewhere in the middle of his throat when he hears a voiced interest in his biggest pride. The papermen. With his mouth slightly agape from the first airy sound, his mouth curls into a wide smile, his cheeks balling up, his eyes mere slits from the pressure. "Do you know what an ant farm is? Well, my room is an ant farm of paper crafts. They have small villages settled all around my furniture!" It is obvious in his tone and overall mannerism that he is excited to talk about the unusual pets of his.
"Is it okay if I call you Freckles though? I've never asked for consent, which I now regret," Hyunjin laughed in an awkward manner, hand rushing up to soothe the embarrassment from him by running his long fingers through the blond hair at the back of his head. "I would take your word for it, but I don't believe that," he laughs again, more sincerely and heartily this time. "You own this?" The impressed surprise is apparent in the way his eyes widen and lips pout out a little more as he takes a slow step back to take an exploring stroll around. "Oh, I see. I've done my fair share of gardening back in the day, but I guess I've never made it... this far," he points to a flower that is closest to him as a way of proving his point. He lived a long life. A long life of being taken advantage of in many ways, this included.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ for a moment, felix held his breath, surely thinking that he must've accidentally let an even bigger hint slip. fortunately, hyunjin didn't seen to have caught it just yet - so the angel sighed in relief. the last thing he wanted to do was spill the secret. sure, it wouldn't much or possibly even a big deal (well... as much as being the first guardian *is* certainly a big deal) but felix just wasn't sure it'd be a good idea to announce his identity when he's still struggling to fit in. even he knows that ignorance will not do him any good. "living paper crafts?" he doesn't know what is exactly, so he just plays along. "that sounds very interesting. i'm quite curious about it."
he's never really run into a lot of people since he arrived here, much less took a moment to talk to anyone. he did see a fair share of good looking people, men and women alike, but never found his gaze to linger on anyone yet; interested, curious, intrigued. not like hyunjin. this male - an imp seemingly - had caught the angel's attention. felix blinks once, twice, in shock as his own personal space is being crowded, not expecting the sudden closeness and the return compliment at all. he didn't flinch away or move back, however, and simply stood in place and allowed hyunjin to move in. "m-my eyes?" there's a clear stutter in his voice. he's had a handful of compliments about his freckles.... but never his eyes. before he knew it, freckled cheeks gradually begin to turn a delicate shade of red and his gaze quickly lowers, becoming rather bashful. "thank you, hyunjin."
the excitement being exuded caused the smile stretching on felix's lips to pull a little wider, cheeks bunching up and eyes turning to crescents. "well, thank you. i think they're a charm point of mine as well. i don't think you're weird, hyunjin. interesting and curious, yes, but not weird. i don't think i'd ever begin to think you're weird, truthfully." he assures, tucking his hands behind him before taking a quick glance around the shop. "oh, yes. i work here. actually, i own this place. all the flowers here i've grown from my personal garden at my cottage."
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin let out a slightly awkward laugh as he heard the cryptic response to his little trick. He didn't think much of it, since not everyone had seen an inanimate object prance around like it was normal. He understood without getting any side ideas. "What else? Anything really," he spoke proudly with a smile. "I have a whole collection of living paper crafts," he admitted, finding great delight in his paperman ant farm in his dorm room.
"Thanks," Hyunjin's eyes slightly opened wider at the very high-class compliment, something in him igniting as if the merit of the very well-spoken male's words was much bigger than just a simple 'you look good' comment. He felt very proud, but that wouldn't last long, he assumed. He was well aware that his vessel was deliberately sculpted to look like this. "I must say that your own looks are breathtaking," Hyunjin returned the favor of good nature, before he leaned in slightly, taking a hint that the other didn't know much about personal space or just didn't care for it, staring directly into the interestingly coloured eyes. "Especially your eyes," Hyunjin said with a sly smile. He leaned back again, standing properly again, leaving a discreet distance between them.
"Yes, yes, that's me!" The imp grinned widely as he was finally recognized. "Man, I knew I've seen those freckles before. They are very charming, just a side not," Hyunjin pointed out and idly rocked on his heels for a second. "Aaah, if you knew me, you'd surely think I'm weird," he laughed. "It's a pleasure to meet you in person too! You work here, yeah?" Hyunjin asked as if it wasn't obvious, turning his head around to take in their surroundings once again. The colors of the flowers were stunning to say the least.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ "was it? well, if i may say, it was very fascinating. i've never seen such a thing before but... then again, i haven't seen much at all." it was kind of a cryptic sentence, and felix only realized how mysterious that made him sound only after speaking. he flashes an almost sheepish smile out of his carelessness and straightens his posture. maintaining 'i am human i am human i am human' whole facade that he decided to put up, not wanting to give away his true origins and species just yet, the boy allows himself to continue admiring the golden strands for a moments longer before wondering aloud; "makes me wonder what else you could bring to life."
"i've never seen a male with such long locks as you.. but i quite like it. it suits you. very well, if i may add." the way he spoke almost made him appear... posh, elegant, full of dainty manners; like he was from a completely different time spectrum. there was also a thick accent to his tongue, weighing his speech down as a clue that he was not from around here at all - but hailed from a completely different country.
bold as he may be, felix still does not grasp any social norms or even the concept of personal space. his child-like wonder and curiosity about everything around him glittered evidently in his eyes, like the ocean waters when the sun hits it just right.
"freckles?" he echos in confusion, pausing briefly with his hand canting to the side. it took him a moment to realize that, yes, he had been given this nickname in the chatroom of an app he had joined fairly recently. recognition pooled into his features and his smile turned wider, brighter, almost taking over his entire face. "now i remember. you called me freckles. though i wouldn't say you are weird, i would say you're most interesting. but it's nice to finally meet you, hyunjin."
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin's excitement doubled as he saw the employee or shop owner inspect the creature he had made with his wishes. He wondered if he liked it or not. He smiled at the other widely, his round cheeks pushing his eyes to crescents. "Yeah, it was me," he said with a proud raise in his voice at the end of his proclamation. He loved surprising or even shocking others just to elicit some reaction that would pump his adrenaline. Whether it was the other person chasing him down with angry shouts and threats or a wholehearted laughter, he loved it either way. When the hand of the shorter male came to touch on his long blond hair, Hyunjin could only watch the visibly shorter fingers than his move so close to his face. Hyunjin wasn't used to such bold movements from strangers, especially when they involved physical contact as such, but he held still, refusing to flinch. His smile slightly dropped and his eyes opened a little wider. "You like it?" Hyunjin tilted his head almost confused, but he snickered. From such close proximity he could finally make out the freckles on the male's face and a sudden surge of familiarity courses through his system. He narrowed his eyes at the two cheeks and it suddenly hit him. "Felix... as in Freckles?" He spoke the nickname that he had come up with in the chatroom of the Imperial app. Was it really the same guy or he was completely mistaken? "I'm Hyunjin," he said pointing at his chest with a tone that suggested that the other might know him. "The weird guy who called you Freckles on the app!" Hyunjin informed the other, hoping to kickstar the other's memory or at least get a reaction that would suggest Hyunjin was mistaken and embarrassed himself so greatly.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ this tiny little... whatever it was was extremely fascinating to the angel that stood before it. he wanted to think that it was an actual creature, since it moved around like it was alive yet even he could tell that it was not. being as perceptive as ever, literally being trained for many, many years, to pay attention to even the tiniest of details, felix could easily recognize that this 'hopping thing' was actually make of ceramic. moreover, he knew that it was a mere decoration that had been out on the floor and had been animated to 'life' by what appeared to be magic or by a spell. as curious as ever, the angel slowly bends down to the frog and reaches out to touch it just as a voice catches his attention. with eyes as blue as the circassian sea, the angel peers up at the stranger through long lashes, blinks a few times then allows himself to stand up.
"you were the one who made it move?" he asks while smoothing the apron that was tied around his lithe waist. taking a moment to study the taller male, the angel could suffice that the stranger was extremely handsome. the long blonde hair was something he's never seen on a male before however... "your hair is long," a hand reaches out to gently touch the locks in admiration, "i like it. but, yes. i am the shop owner. i just moved into town so i suppose that's why you've never seen me around before." a warm smile pulls at the boy's rosy tiers as his hand retracts, freckled cheeks bunched up in the slightest. "my name is felix. may i ask for your name?"
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin watched the tiny ceramic frog hop around until it did indeed welcome a second person into the main room of the flower shop. Hyunjin's lips curled into an expecting smirk, waiting in anticipation the reaction of the person. When none was coming, none besides a wide-eyed childish stare at the suddenly animate object, Hyunjin felt perplexed. Was the other not impressed? Did he not understand the joke? "I made it move," Hyunjin declared as he pointed a long slender finger at the frog, which gave a croak in affirmation. "It... shouldn't move, you know," Hyunjin discreetly tried to get any reaction from the good-looking male. Good-looking? Yeah, Hyunjin could appreciate beauty in people. He discarded his own thoughts diverting the attention from him and the frog. He grabbed the ceramic very much alive frog and held it in his palm. "Are you the shop owner?" Hyunjin asked, caressing the head of the solid thing in his hand. "I don't recall meeting you before," Hyunjin assumed, pouting to himself as the other seemed to be a very quite person. And that did not sit well with the prankster.
@hyunjin h。ˢᵃᵘᶜʸᴶ being so new to the magic of magnolia, felix was quite excited to start what humans would call 'a new life' here. being sent down from the heavens up above with the task of finding, and choosing, his own soul to guard and protect as god's favored guardian angel, he was confused on many levels; not even sure where to start, how to begin his search, or even what to do. sure he's spent two whole millenniums training to be prepared however he prepared to be handed a file on his assigned human when god gathered all of his kin to send them to earth. felix was handed nothing. instead, god only told him to make his own choice; to decide on who he wanted to protect instead of having the choice be made for him. that sort of freedom has never ever been granted to a guardian before, and felix wasn't even a little bit prepared for it.
not only was he trying to adjust to the human life and learn their ways, he's also supposed to be searching for the person (human or not) that he wants to guard with every fiber in him. first and foremost, felix devotes himself to settling down in magnolia and attempts to adjust to how the people live there before he even tries to begin his search. what a way to begin than to open his own florist shop?
hearing the door open prompted felix from parting away from what everyone had called a laptop, leaving his google search up on the screen; 'what is halloween?' just as the angel is walking out from the backroom to greet his first customer, he's instead met with... a tiny green creature staring up at him. felix tilts his head to one side, crystal irises glittering with child-like wonder and curiosity. he's never seen a little thing like this before - what was it?
@felix l。ˢᵖʳᵉᵃᵈᵐʸʷᶦⁿᵍˢ Hyunjin was on his lunch break, strolling the streets with a to-go coffee in hand and a spring in his step. He loved exploring the town, deliberately looking for places he had never seen before which could hold some untold secrets. On this stroll, however, he didn't find any secret entries or mysterious passages. Rather, he found a flower shop he had not visited before. His eyebrows lifted up and his eyes grew in size as he eyed the shop, taking a curious sip from his coffee through the straw. The imp never had a problem with courage and this wasn't any different. Once he walked over to the glass window, he pressed his face against it, glancing inside inquisitively. Colourful flowers, vases of different shapes and all kinds of junk. Hyunjin wasn't sure if anyone was inside, but as the sign on the door read 'open' he initiatively stepped inside. He took a look around, disinterested, his steps resembling a bored marching soldier as he kicked them high and long at every step. "Woohoo?" He called out trough the straw between his lips, calling for attention of anyone in the shop. Before anyone could respond, however, Hyunjin found a particular plastic decoration for flower beds, some sort of statue of a painted frog, very intriguing. He bent down to it with a snorting chuckle, closed his eyes and quietly wished for it to become alive. The object sprung to life with a solid clink as the material was still the same, but the frog animate a croaked vigorously, jumping around its display. Hyunjin felt happy by the sight. But the owner of the shop, or the employee, could have a different reaction to such magic.
@sana m。ˢᵃⁿᵃ‧ⁿᵃⁿᵃ Oh, goodness. Okay, okay! Just lock the door and stay put, alright? I’ll knock on the front door once I’m there, but I’m on my way now!
/i quickly reply, hanging up the phone before grabbing the rest of my things and hurrying out the door, making some of my coworkers stare after me, stunned, though the make no effort to stop me; once in my car, i shove my bag in the backseat and ignite the engine, immediately speeding off in the direction of your shop; luckily, the town wasn’t huge, so it didn’t take too long for me to arrive.
I hope everything is just misplaced and not missing.
/i murmur to myself, hopping out of the police cruiser and walk up to the entrance before hitting my knuckles against the glass door a few times.
Sana? It’s Yeol!
@sana m。ˢᵃⁿᵃ‧ⁿᵃⁿᵃ /after a long, exhausting day of endless phone calls that really made me want to just tear my hair out, i started to pack up my things and shut my computer down, only for the phone to ring yet again, making me audibly groan.
Oh my god, another one? Don't people know I'm off the clock!
/i grumble to myself, yet gets composed again and swiftly answers it, drawing the mobile device to my ear and swinging back and forth in my swivel chair, honestly hoping that this would not be a call that i would have to physically respond to.
Mm, hello?
/i say into the microphone, but the response i get has me pausing all movement.
Sana? Wait, what's going on?
