@♆ Akaedi Vos playing: saint-saens - introduction and rondo capriccioso
If Valor had to take a guess at the real reason Akaedi had snapped at him, he would point to the chat history and his long bickering session with someone else. Valor did not know who the other person was, but it was easy to tell just by glancing that he knew how to get under Akaedi's skin, and that Akaedi either didn't know, or didn't bother, to get under the other's.
Valor had grown quite tired of Akaedi belittling Kivari, then belittling Valor's attempts at helping him. The vampire found him to be impatient, stubborn, and spiteful. Already Valor was preparing himself for what Akaedi could say. He would pick at his addiction if he wanted to go for the low-hanging fruit. That was of little consequence to Valor, who had already spent over a century dealing with it. He already believed he was in hell and suffering for the sins he committed in life, and nothing Akaedi could say would make him feel worse than Valor had already made himself feel.
Kivari was the other obvious soft spot for Valor. Akaedi could tell Valor nothing he could do would help Kivari, but this was also expected and something he had already dealt with. Already the vampire had learned to ignore that; he had already made progress with Kivari, even if no one in Vos ever saw it. Akaedi could go after Valor all he wanted; Valor did not care. But if he continued to attack Kivari, Valor really would grow quite a grudge against Akaedi, then likely demand Kivari leave the organization immediately and join a rival one for spite.
Valor had already ordered earl grey tea while he waited for the Mer to show up. Tea did nothing for him, but the aroma and warmth of it were enough to soothe his old tea-drinking habits. An action of comfort, much like a smoker with a toothpick. And comfort was what Valor needed right now, for he was still unsure if he would have to really fight with Akaedi or all he would have to do was listen, nod, and ultimately ignore him.
@☼ Xephyrous Flores Youngmi’s gentle eyes shone as he settled down in the chair opposite the other man, though not before taking the hand offered to him for a light shake. “It’s nice to meet you too!” He crossed one leg over the other, absentmindedly jogging it as he relaxed. “If you wouldn’t mind, that would be lovely. I haven’t eaten all day,” He answered, a soft smile curving his lips upwards. Food and something to drink, a perfect way to spend an afternoon. Fair enough, he’d been advised to be careful with who he met from the Internet, because you never quite knew their backgrounds and what they were involved in. But Xeph had struck him as quite trustworthy, so the angel had decided he wouldn’t be stabbed in this short meeting between acquaintances trying to become friends. “So, how has your day been so far?”
@♆ Xephyrous Flore The angel blinked as he looked across the pretty little cafe. It was settled inside, only the murmurs of people going peacefully about their days. Youngmi was taking the moment to relax. Work was fun, he wouldn't change his position for the world; but sometimes he needed ten minutes to sit down with a coffee and relax. It was through the local chat that he'd met someone, who'd said they were quite happy to meet up for coffee. Unwilling to turn down a chance to make friends, the angel had slid inside, the little bell on the door twinkling as he did. His wings were tucked safely away where he wouldn't risk clumsily knocking anything over with them, and he approached the person who seemed to have arrived a few moments before him. Youngmi offered the guy a warm smile as he sat down on a seat beside their table. "Hey! Are you Xeph? It's me, Youngmi."
