ꜱ1ᴇ2　　side entrance

"woah," rhys can't stop himself from gawping at the luxurious decorations of the event - and he's just walking through the side entrance! "yo, this is /fancy/." another student next to him agrees. back in canada rhys had never attended an event as large and opulent as this. in fact, he's pretty sure the closest thing he has under his belt in comparison to this would be prom... and one of his friend's weddings. so it's safe to say that mark would feel completely out of place if he were a guest, but instead he's here to help as waitstaff for the event, as are the rest of his fellow classmates. they'd been instructed to wear black and white, but nothing too fancy so they wouldn't be mistaken as guests. rhys was dressed in black pants and a jacket, with a white t-shirt underneath. he'd forgotten to pack a button down with him when he transferred.

eventually, after the class is given a rundown of the festitivities and what their jobs might be for the night, they're dispersed among the hired staff. "is there anything i can do?" he asks one of the kitchen workers. he doesn't expect to immediately have a tray full of appetizers shoved in his hands, but when someone barks an order to leave the kitchen he doesn't think twice before walking out the door and stepping onto the actual event floor. right, okay, he can do this. there are other students already walking around with trays like he is. he supposes he just makes his way through the crowd and waits to see if anyone wants something to eat. 'alright, let's go.'

despite trying his best to factor in any accident that may occur during his first catering job, lio failed miserably, arriving to the venue at the same time of the ball's commencement. despite dedicating an hour to worrying over the event, he failed to consider how anxious he would be upon realizing only the highest of society would be attending the ball. lio was certainly gracious to have been given the chance to serve his food at any event, yet he felt the moment the guests would taste his food, they would only be able to taste the filth of the slums from which the half-angel came.

he makes quick work escorting the food from the taxi cab to inside the establishment through the side door, conveniently leaving the door open for any passerbys to attend as he made his trips back and forth with a grin plastered between his cheeks. he had no time to change from his outfit dusted with flour, and finally sends the driver off with a jubilant wave goodbye. he then stands at his station as he should have hours ago, revealing trays of lio's finest desserts. relieved, he wipes his forehead with the back of his hand (leaving a trail of flour with it).
