Juniper had been spending the day following around one of her brothers, trailing him here and there and everywhere and hoping that she could finally approach him. But those two younger vampires he always seemed to be with had appeared and Juniper had been forced to retreat. Now she was walking home, wearing a long coat despite the summer heat. She didn't sweat, anyway, why should she bother to follow mortal rules on seasonal fashion?

At the sound of someone behind her cursing elementals, Juniper twisted around. Her eyes were narrowed, gazing past the elemental woman behind her to see the man that had been cursing. "Watch your ing mouth," she shouted at him, and her red eyes cowed him out of making any remark to her. She was an old vampire and she wouldn't hesitate to rip his throat out.

"How can I help you?" she said to the elemental, turning her attention to the other woman with a pleasant smile, her former aggression gone. "I'm sorry about him. People are garbage."

@✧　Juniper Vandel "Excuse me.. excuse me-", came Celes' soft, nervous voice. He was fumbling with the front of his robes while he waited for the young woman to turn around, awkwardly skipping after her until she came to a stop. He did his best not to touch the ground, as usual, for he left little patches of ice behind where he stepped, but alas behind him came the outraged cry of a poor fellow who'd slipped. "ing elementals!", the slipper cursed and a dejected look crashed over Celes' face. He was trying. He couldn't help it. Those words never made anyone feel better, so Celes swallowed them and focused on the woman. "Can you help me? Please?" He didn't have much hope that the woman would agree, his expression already that of loss and defeat. He was trying to think of people as naturally good, but with his recent encounters, it was growing increasingly challenging. His master said he was on his way to getting depressed if he didn't do something about it. Do what though? Well, that was a worry for another time. "Please?"

The suggestion to take a swim had been greatly beneficial to Jinhai, who had been going a touch stir-crazy. He had gone out decently far into the sea, searching for treasures hidden in the sediment at the bottom of the ocean. Patience and a couple of hours of scrounging and Jinhai had come back with quite the haul.

The merman had sunbathed for a while to dry off before putting his clothes back on and carrying with him his armful of treasures. He had come across quite a few items of jewelry, their chains hanging off his arms and his hands fisted around rings and pearls. A happy smile wide enough to deepen the dimples in Jinhai's cheeks was spread across his face as he made his way back towards his home. He probably should have brought some sort of sack to carry his treasures, but he had forgotten.

Jinhai's choice of clothing sometimes attracted attention, but most people were used to it now. Today's look was a dark blue vest the color of the sea at twilight, the garment open over his toned chest to show off all the necklaces he was wearing. His corded arms were also decorated with bangles, leather cuffs at his wrist. His pants were loose and black, tucked into the tops of his boots. His hair was worn long and down, the braids in it decorated with pearls, shells, beads, and leather chords tying them off. A sword was strapped at his waist, lightly bouncing against his leg as he walked.

Jinhai was very busy thinking of what he'd do with his treasures, the outfits he'd wear them with, the jewelry he'd make from them, when he lost his footing. Jinhai had enough martial arts training that he quickly regained his balance, but his grip on his treasures had loosened, sending a few chains and pearls rolling across the ground. The mermaid sighed, beginning to collect them all. Maybe a vest /with/ pockets next time, he noted.
