bar

bar

A place to grab a drink. It isn't quiet or peaceful here, and more often than not, shady figures are hanging around.

@✧ Ivory Lux Autumn smiled back at the busy bar owner before nodding as a gesture that she understood his situation before mouthing 'Its fine, really.'. She giggled lightly and continued dipping her fries into the ketchup, enjoying the food along with the drink. One of the guy that cat called her was about to approach the journalist but then he immediately backs off once the owner came back. Autumn perks up with a wide smile when his attention is back on her. "Oh it went well. My office hasn't officially opened yet but when it does, I think I wanna invite you." She said and rests her chin on her palm. "What about you, Mr. Bar Owner? How was your day? Also I noticed these people here are rather..scared of you..or something." She grinned and winked at the latter.

@✧ Autumn Levine The god shook his head, flashing another smile. “Don’t apologise - it’s what I’m here to do. This is my job, after all.” It was true, in deciding to run a bar, it would be very contradictory of him to allow himself to become overrun on a slightly busier night. But there was no chaos for the time being. “I’ll be back in just a moment, enjoy your food,” He answered, nodding once more to her before he moved off to tend to the few other people who had trickled in to find a seat at one of the wooden tables. Ivory dealt with them quickly, and was at the bar again not too long after. His rested his chin on his hand, elbow on the countertop as he looked at her again. “How has your day been?”

@✧ Ivory Lux She giggled a little and nodded. "Nice to meet you Ivory. And thats true, simple food is always comforting for me, same goes for dates." She smiled and handshakes with him before releasing his hand. She then blinked when she could notice the bartender seemed to be anxious and yes, the bar seemed to be quite packed that time. Autumn blinked again at his question before smiling nervously. "A-ah.. I'm sorry. That would be all for now. You should attend other people too, its okay. Thank you." She smiled and pats the latter's hand gently before she continued eating her fries which she enjoyed it very much. For a petite girl like her, she actually love sloppy and greasy food but then of course, she gotta work hard to get her ideal shape with workouts. Her eyes looks around the bar and find the decoration to be very interesting to look at and very tavern like which she doesn't mind at all.

@✧ Autumn Levine With a friendly grin, the bartender stepped a short distance away to be on the look out for more requests and orders. As much as he’d like to settle down and chatter, he was busy nonetheless. Chatting could come secondary to the comfort on the people spending their evening in his bar. “I’m glad you think so. It seems like a simple meal, but sometimes that’s all you need to make it a good one.” He waved a hand, “Ivory. The owner.” He took the hand, giving it a firm but not unkind shake before releasing her. “Can I get you anything else, or will that be all for now?”

@✧ Ivory Lux Tossing her head from her shoulder to the back while smiling over at the bartender who answered her. Autumn grinned excitedly at the sight of the food and drink with her hands clasped together. "Thank you very much and hi, yes, actually I am new here. I just closed up the office and I saw this cozy bar so I thought I got my dinner here." She said in a chirp manner. "And.." she takes one fries and dips into the ketchup before smiling and nodding. "My dinner is perfect, thanks to you sir. Oh! My name is Autumn by the way." She said and holds out a hand for the latter to shake.

@✧ Autumn Levine Ivory was busy at work, bustling about. All evenings were the same, the regulars chattering, dipping in and out of conversations of all varieties as he served the people of the bar. Ivory inclined his head lightly in greeting when he heard the bell on the door jingle with the presence of the newcomer, about to greet her, before a fierce glare was sent around at the cat callers. The place was one of comfort after all, Ivory had no qualms with throwing things at the offenders if it brought some peace to the tavern-like bar. Adorned with the look of an old fashioned place, the god had to admit he didn’t want to break up any rowdiness. He was always busy after all, he didn’t need the stress of throwing trouble makers out.

Returning to the bar, he gave his head a light nod. “Right away,” He reported as he went to fulfil the order, smiling to her when he returned. “Welcome, I haven’t seen you around before, I hope you enjoy your evening. What brought you here today?”

@✧ Ivory Lux Having just finished her work in the office, Autumn glances up to the wall clock and huffs a little bit, finding herself now alone at such a late night. She packs up her stuffs before locking up the office and checks out. As soon as she opened the exit door of her office building, her green eyes caught the sight of a cozy bar down the street. Feeling a bit hungry and thinking some fries and drinks could do it for dinner, Autumn made her way there.

Her attire she had on is just a short lacey-like dress that is almost see through but still covered enough that she did not showcase her undergarments. Tucking her small white back under her arm, the petite girl walks into the bar and spotted an empty chair by the glass counter. As she made her way there, she could feel a lot of eyes and cat calling being made but she just brushed it off as she is used to it by now. After taking her seat, she looks around and spotted a free bartender a few inches from her. "Umm... Hi, can I get a mocktail and french fries please?" He asked, raising her hand a little to get the handsome bartender's attention.
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux Nathaniel catches the glass that he slid and hummed lowly, agreeing at what he said at some points. "I agree. The only difference is that, we can be very powerful if everyone worships us like the old days. These days? They prefer to settle with the fake ones and we end up the same like they are." He said, eyeing the reborn one in front of him. "Do you remember your death, dear Odin? What name do you go by now?" He asked and sips the whiskey in his hand. "Yes thats true. Lucky for me, Persephone is still Persephone. The person I love the most." He nodded with a smile. "Well then, this bar is a success and I blessed this bar to stay successful under you as long as you live." He said, raising his glass as a toast when he gave his blessing as The Wealthy One.
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus As Ivory slid the glass over to the man, he squatted down at the table again to resume their conversation. His other guests could wait a few moments more until he’d finished up the conversation. “All gods are flawed, maybe that’s why I felt the need to run away from the stress of it. I think we’re no greater than any one of the people in this room, just living out their lives. We might live much longer, have different experiences, but there’s no way we’ll go our lives without being -ups at some point.” The reborn god twitched a brow up and then tsked, chuckling lightly. “Well, that would do it. I don’t blame him for being upset. A little death is unavoidable if it restores balance.” After rising to his feet again, Ivory nodded. “I wouldn’t like to own any more. This is more than enough work - I work here alone, my own little haven.”
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux Nathaniel sighed and places an elbow to the glass counter and rests half his face to his palm. "Yeah. All I could say is, the Greek Gods are all a bunch of ups. Well except for my sweet sweet Persephone." He smiled softly at the thought. "She left but I am still head over heels for her. Goddamn." He chuckled and shakes his head when thinking about her. "Yeah.. couldn't agree more to that. I eventually became a man myself. I mean, I slept with my wife's enemy during the separation and oh boy, she is pissed. And not to mention, I killed a few people just for the sake of balance yesterday. To redeem that, I saved some from death today. Just cause I have excessive workload." He nodded, tapping the glass counter. "So..is this your only bar?"
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus After taking the glass and sliding back up to his feet, the bar tending god inclined his head into a nod. “Ah, well, it’s a good thing I don’t have much dealing with the Greek pantheon then. I wouldn’t describe myself as a man , no matter whether Zeus is or not. I’m not him.” He shrugged, carrying the glass away to get the other god a new drink. “Full of flaws, but we’re no better. There’s no such thing as purity, you know.”
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux The God of the Underworld nodded in agreement and raises his glass a little before sliding it back politely to the other God. "That's very lucky of you. If it was up to my eldest sister-in-law, that means you're cheating." He chuckled and shakes his head. "Which is true because Zeus is a man ." He clicks his tongue a little after Odin told him about the first attacks, humans started it. "They're just full of flaws aren't they?" He let out a sigh. "Can I have another shot of whiskey? This needs more drinking than I thought of."
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus “Preferences aren’t unfortunate my friend, not at all. They help people be comfortable - and what’s the point of a lover who is uncomfortable?” He shook his head, but looked distantly approving to hear the other god had some brief breaks. “I wouldn’t say she /approves/, but you know, she doesn’t protest so much whenever I leave again. She was probably getting quite sick of me after all that time. Having a break can help a relationship a great deal.” Ivory shrugged. No wife or relationship was taking him back to his thrown anytime soon. He liked the freedom of running a bar, the people he met and saw every day. It was a good life. “Well, take my information with a pinch of salt as it’s entirely gossip and rumours - but I believe there’s been two of these attacks in the past, both of which were initiated by humans. However, that might not be true, I’ve missed both of these battles and wouldn’t like to tamper with them anyway. I gave up the right to do that when I left home. But yes - I do believe it was the humans who attacked first.”
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux He chuckled softly and shakes his head. "Unfortunately no, my friend. I still prefer a woman." He nodded and takes another sip of the whiskey. "Occasionally I do take my own holiday. Like some sort of a window time, I would go to the waterfall or beach or caves just to have some time for myself." He said in a low voice almost like a whisper to the latter. "I think even my wife doesn't know that. So your wife approves of you going down to the mortal world instead of being with her?" He raised a brow and looks up at the God. "Great. Well.. lets start from the beginning. What is exactly the cause of this chaos? Did the humans attacked first or the other creatures?"
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus Ivory’s lips twitched up into a light smile, his head dipping into a nod. “Well, I’m sure he’s just fine as a guy. Have you never wanted to have a husband? I’ve found men can be just as nice, but that’s just me.” He waved a hand lightly. The tavern left some room for experimenting. His wife never minded him going off for a while. “Mhm, so you’re hear for work, rather than some holiday time. Well, when the work is done, maybe you’ll find the time to relax. Overworking shortens lifespans, you know.” He winked, resting his hands on the table to prop himself up. “You know? It doesn’t seem bother me as much as it used to. I do my duty when they need me to, but for the most part, the others can handle things. Mortals playing god only have what’s coming to them. Well - yes, I’ll entertain your questions. Was there any particular part of the city that caught your interest?”
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux Taking a sip of the whiskey that he had requested earlier and let out a low hum. "Yes.. it seems the separation had change one of a a few things on her and gender is one of them." He said and chuckled a little. "Yes..there is so much death indeed, old friend. Watching the world burn seems like a dream to me but it creates imbalance and thus, a whole lot of work for me. So I came up here to make sure the number of souls become consistent again." Hades traces his finger around the lips of the glass. "We aren't being worshipped as we used to. Mortals loves to play god without thinking of the consequences. Gives me headaches everytime when there are days a sudden surge of numbers coming into my doorstep. Load of work..load of menace. And yes, being a god is indeed exhausting. But dear Odin, I am not here in this bar of yours for a vacation. I require some.. information around the city. Would you entertain me, old friend?"
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus A brow twitched up curiously as he noted where his fellow god was going with this. Odin had been quite eager to run away and hide himself from the world - but there was always some things that made it easy to figure out who he was. He couldn’t resist showing off sometimes. “Oh, you’ve found your wife? Or- husband, perhaps he’d prefer now. But yes, I can imagine this place will have caught your interest easily. There’s forever a scent of death in the air - and this land feels quite wracked with war.” He shook his head to himself. Mortals never changed their violent ways, and it meant more work for him. “I will admit, I came here for a bit of an escape. You know how exhausting being a god is, sometimes you just need a holiday.”

@✧ Ivory Lux The ancient God mutters a thank you over to the male as his eyes watches him doing his job. "Mmm.. I reckon the huge head of a stag that is on your wall doesn't come that easy to find. I believe the term was, only Gods could kill such beast." He said, slowing down a little at the last sentence with a small smile. "It's been a while, old friend. Just like my wife, I found you two here in this chaotic city. But unlike her or rather him now, I am here to make sure there is still balance. What about you?"
✧ Ivory Lux 3 years ago
@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus “I’ll get it to you in just one moment.” With a nod, Ivory stood back. The compliments made his smile widen. Of course, who didn’t enjoy getting complimented on their hard work? “That would be me - and thank you, it took quite a while to get it set up how I like it, but really, it’s a wonderful place to be running.” His eyes lingered on the walking stick that the man had with him. He was no fool, he could see through the illusion, but he didn’t mind. People brought weapons into the bar all the time, so long as they didn’t cause trouble, it was none of his concern. “Ah, might I ask what brought you here this evening?”
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux Nathaniel turns his body over to direction of the barista welcoming him with a warm smile. "Thank you for the welcome. I believe, some whiskey would do great for me tonight." The God simply said and nodded his head over to the latter's direction. "Who is the owner of the bar if I may know? I would like to compliment him or her for such amazing work on the concept of the bar's decoration. Very old fashioned yet very comforting." He said, eyeing the man in front of him as his instinct seemed to already recognize the person serving him.

@♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus The evening was a quiet one, and that meant Ivory could pause and speak with the unfamiliar faces in his precious tavern. The old fashioned place had it’s regulars, and after the god had settled his visitors, he was happy to remain vigilant at the bar. He enjoyed meeting new people. New people meant new gossip and information, new rumours and interesting little pieces of wisdom. When you were a god starving for learning new things, that was a wonderful thing. “Welcome! What can I get you, this fine evening?” Ivory called as the stranger settled at the table. Slipping out from behind the bar, with a friendly smile on his face, he strolled over to share a conversation with the man. The guy was well dressed, and not one Ivory had ever met in his humble abode so far.
♆ Nathaniel Aidoneus 3 years ago
@✧ Ivory Lux The bar. It is always the best place to get information and thanks to his shadow underlings, this certain bar could really help a man like Nathaniel. The God of the Underworld makes his way towards the entrance, dressed up in all black, completing his attire that night with a pair of glasses and a walking stick. Someone with a good eye could tell that the stick is no ordinary one as it is Hades' pitchfork in disguise. Nathaniel made his way inside straight to the long table of the bar. Taking an empty seat, he places his stick beside of him, leaning the Cerberus shaped stick head to the side of the table. His eyes looking carefully at the baristas, wondering which one he is looking for.

@✧ Raphael Ortiz Pratu simply nodded at every word the owner was saying. Of course she knew who he was, or at least, knew that he wasn't just a regular party-goer. She just needed to stall long enough to get rid of the evidence. The corners of her lips twitched, her smile faltering just a little when he leaned in closer. She wasn't usually scared, but this vampire did make her feel  like a deer caught in the headlights. Though Though wanted to push his head back, she stood her ground and clenched her teeth. A breath of relief left her lips as he pulled away and started leading the way to the back room.

Pratu fiddled with her dress nervously before following suit and tried to calm her nerves while he lead her down the narrow pathway. She had nothing to worry about, but many eyes were on her now and the Vampire didn't seem like someone who would be pushed around so easily. Her lips pressed together into a thin line as she tried to harden herself. This was nothing compared to everything she had to go through. 'Just hang in there, Hell, play it cool.' She comforted herself.
Narok. Hell. Hell was the name given to her when she entered Mortem as a nameless child. She had done everything she had to do to survive in this cruel city. This situation was no different. Pratu wet her lips as she entered the room after Raphael, making herself comfortable on the chair without waiting for an invitation. A confident smile replaced her nervous one, eyes crinkling just slightly to compliment her sharp canines. 'I'll just give him hell.'
✧ Raphael Ortiz 3 years ago
@☠ Pratu Sunarok He raised an eyebrow at her pretending to be confused at her reaction "We take theft possibilities very seriously here as we aim to proportionate our customers with top security" He said confidently and with an almost teasing tone in his voice before holding back a scoff at her accusation "You do not seem that defenseless and this is certainly not harassment" The male retaliated smoothly before leaning in a little closer to her face "Also, I am the manager" He said in an almost hushed tone before bringing his long finger in front of his lips in a 'secret' gesture.
Getting back up to his straight position he keeps his eyes down on the girl "You have nothing to worry about dear, and if we are mistaken we will highly compensate you for the discomfort" The taller vampire said, the small smirk taking over his lips again knowing full well that he would not be mistaken.

He notices the girl approaching him a bit more but remains in the same spot strong gaze still in her as she faces him "Hardly, especially when you choose to bring your business into my business" He replied back putting some extra sarcasm into the words 'your business' and even adding some air quotes with his fingers as the girl moved around him. This time he does scoff at her attempt, one of his eyebrows rising at her words as he shakes his head.
The girl's agreement though set up a red flag right in front of his eyes. She seemed too eager to cooperate for someone who he'd very clearly seen hiding a wallet into her clothing "You seem quite confident now" He said tilting his head a little, her smile very obviously fake, but still he took her hand with a fake smile of his own leading her towards the back and giving his security guard a quick look to keep watch of the only door that would lead out of the office area.
✠ Lee Youngmi 3 years ago
@☠ Derek Mantaya The moment he heard the sigh, Youngmi’s brow curved slightly. He knew the Dream Guard weren’t always the favoured people - there was a lot of dodgy things going on in the City of Dreams, things Youngmi had seen firsthand throughout his time serving so far in the guard. He just hoped his friend wouldn’t have been involved in any of them, as that would be more than a little worrying. Of course, no matter the path Derek had taken, the angel would be happy to call him a dear friend. They’d known each other for too long for him to decide otherwise, despite the long time it had been.

Perhaps he was quite untouched by the pain of the world still. He had his guard, and they were his closest friends. But he’d never had to experience the same loss as Derek, never been pushed to the point where self care seemed worthless. The unwavering dullness was not unnoticed by the angel, though he didn’t comment on the distant look the poor man carried.

“Not /all/ of the answers. I’d still be wandering around entirely clueless about everything if you hadn’t helped me out,” He said, a light grin passing across his face. He looked upon those memories with fondness, like one might consider a childhood holiday. It had been hard, being encouraged to take a world he didn’t know by a storm. But the angel was positive that he had the ability to make a good impact on things.

Youngmi’s mouth formed an ‘o’ at the explanation he got to the question, his head dipping a few times in understanding. He didn’t really understand the feeling of course, the angel had never had a partner, but if it had brought his old friend to the city, it was important. His gaze softened as the hand moved close to him, and the content angel let his cheek drop into the hand, a simple smile on his lips. “I’m glad you’ve got the chance to escape then. The city is really nice - promise you won’t get into any trouble though, yeah? I’ll have to tell you off if you do,” He said, the smile never falling as he spoke. “It’s really good to see you again Derek, I’m glad you’re in town. You never told me what you were working as though, is it alright to know?”
☠ Pratu Sunarok 3 years ago
@✧ Raphael Ortiz "What do you mean, 'safety?'" Her sculpted brows furrowed in confusion, her dainty arms wrapping around herself in defense. She scanned over the vampire skeptically, his strong features getting more intimidating by the second. "Are you sure you don't want to just take advantage of a poor, innocent woman who can't defend herself? This is harassment. I'm filing a complaint and telling your manager. " Her small nose scrunched up into a look of distaste as she looked around, calculating how she was going to get out of this mess. Her eyes flickered back to Raphael's red ones. She took a few steps forward, towards the taller vampire, leaning in and looking up at him innocently.

"We're the same. You and I. Can't you just mind your own business and leave me alone?" She whispered, her lips pursed into a small pout. She knew this method wasn't going to work, but she just need to just a tad bit closer. "I'm just trying to live. I haven't done anything to harm anyone." She blinked, taking another step closer, circling around the thin vampire. When she got behind Raphael, she quickly dropped the wallet into another man's coat pocket, but not before taking out a few 20's and shoving it into her bra. After ridding herself of the evidence, she circled back around to the front, smiling up at him. "But... if you insist." Her eyes sparkled, turning into small, insincere crescents. "I'll cooperate with you, darling."  She lifted her perfectly manicured fingers up to Raphael, waiting for his hand to lead her to the back room. "Hurry before I change my mind and run away. The sun is coming up soon."

@✠ Lee Youngmi "Dream Gaurd, huh?" A soft sigh slipped passed his lips as he continued to listen to the angel as he spoke. Youngmi seemed to glow when he spoke about his profession. It reminded him of when they were younger when they spoke of their hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams that were nonexistent to Derek for a long time now. The end of the tunnel was pitch black. The only thing he could see and feel was the blood beneath the soles of his shoes as he wandered aimlessly with his eyes dulled with emptiness the loss of his sister left him.

After months and months staring at walls, eating instant noodles, and going for days without bathing, he grew tired of not feeling. Tired of having flashbacks of when he just stood there, useless and unable to do anything.

His dulled eyes flickered over Youngmi's bright ones, an emotionless smile plastered on his face as he nodded as If he was listening. A ringing noise sounded in his ear instead as he was lost in thought. He was jealous. Jealous of the fact that Youngmi could go on with life, get what he wanted, and live happily without him. A part of him despised Youngmi for that. But another part of him felt happy that his friend seemed untouched by the world's unforgiving touch.

"Oh, I'm sure you're plenty talented, Youngmi." He shifted in his seat, the hand that was swirling his glass of alcohol pausing briefly to lift the glass to his lips. "I remember you'd always have all the answered whenever we played games together. Fun times." He set his glass down and folded his hands onto the table in front of him.

"Yea.." His nose scrunched up as if he had thought of something distasteful. He didn't want to dive too much into his profession so he took another route instead. "I had a falling out with a person I was seeing. It brought back too many memories so I  thought a change in scenery would help." It wasn't entirely a lie. He was speaking to someone and now they weren't in the picture anymore. A small smile appeared on his lips, his practiced eyes mirroring one of sadness as he reached for Youngmi's hair, gently brushing them from his eyes. "I'm glad I did though. I got to see you, again." He held Youngmi's gaze, hoping the other wouldn't notice his attempt to divert the conversation.
