— OUR HISTORY
It was 150 years ago that the vampires took over the world. They accomplished this after centuries of planning, infiltrating the lowest levels of government and over time expanding their influence to the very top, until they had enough power to launch an offensive against the human population. Humanity was easily overtaken by the much stronger vampires, millions slaughtered and painting the Earth blood red. They surrended after only 92 days of war. Thus, the new age of vampire rule was ushered in.
Now in the present day, there are no humans that remember the war as it happened, only as an event long in the past. Vampiric rule is the norm. In cities across the globe both humans and vampires struggle to co-exist, the toll of the war having plunged entire countries into shambles. Even now they are unable to rebuild. Where the human population is densest crime rates are at an all time high, poverty and famine run rampant, and death is a given for those living in the slums of society. There are also many vampires in the same boat as these humans, rogues and undesirables that have been cast from vampiric society and spend their days killing and feeding from any humans they can find.
The world is not without hope, however. In an effort to promote peace between humans and vampires a system was created nearly 100 years ago. The Blood Farms. Sprawling facilities housing hundreds, sometimes thousands of humans as living blood bags for the vampire population. Much like a symbiotic relationship, these state of the art buildings promote health and wellness among their humans, providing them shelter, food and entertainment in the exchange for blood to keep the vampires fed. It is a dream for many humans in the run down cities to join one of these facilities. For hunters and rogue vampires with grudges, however, this system is nothing but a nightmare.
