@✿ j. jaehyun Scanning the area, Chaeyeon's eyes glanced at the numbers mounted to the front of the apartment complex before counter checking the given address on her screen once more. Convinced that she had found the right place, a silent prayer was send up to the heavens above. There was no way Jaehyun would ditch her again ... right? She was positive her point had come across clearly last time they talked but there was always a chance that she had scared him off /too well/. 'You're a ing overachiever. Aren't you, Chae?', a manic chain of laughter was threatening to bubble up from the depths of her lungs, using up all the oxygen as it went until she could feel her heartbeat ringing in her ears with the effort of keeping it down. So much for maintaining her composure, huh? With her forehead now resting on the handlebars of her motorcycle, slow inhales forced the icy evening air into her system to clear her head from useless thoughts. One way or the other, the female had already canceled her schedule and drove all the way over to his neighbourhood - hell, against her usual approach she even prepared a thing or two in advance. Not a chance Chae was gonna spend the night holed up in her studio. A new drive fueled her movements when she straightened her posture to remove the helmet and swing her leg over the seat before pushing the kickstand down with her foot. Whether this date would turn into a search for a missing person or not, she would take things as they come. After all, treasure hunts had never failed to spark her interest as a child. Nothing great ever came easy, so why would this be any different? A little effort and some money spend on a decent navigation system could be hardly called a sacrifice when it allowed her to get to know him and understand his at times seclusive ways. Content with that thought, she reached the threshold and rang up his apartment number.
so you know where to come get me tomorrow! i'll be ready by the time you get me. and i'm excited about whatever we're going to do and to see what kind of ride you have!
@✿ j. jaehyun the picture i'm currently perceiving is that your broad work experience would make you anyone's dream employee but your skillset doesn't involve saying no. do you perhaps feel represented by lisa's solo 'surface pressure' from encanto? has your eye ever twitched at night? :monocle:
you should teach me a thing or two about time management though - i'm truly a mess when it comes to it. i have a tendency to get consumed by the things that interest me to the point of neglecting basic needs. so the fact that your daily grind has so many stations to it truly amazes me.
i thought i could gloss over the sappy by giving you the shortest explanation. oh well. buckle up for what's likely to sound like a (not so) inspirational insta post. :grimacing:
i fell in love with the craft. how nothing is ever really broken, how there's always a way to mend the cracks and make the walls more sturdy. how you cannot completely dictate the outcome but always have to take chances during the process. i fell in love with the way it's a tactile experience, how you really need to feel out the clay to express yourself in the mold. and how people cherish the objects - it's not uncommon for a customer to carry a shattered item as they enter my studio, asking for it to be fixed because someone they love treasures it. and you should see the way their eyes light up when it's whole again. it's truly like magic.
@✿ p. chaeyoung well, to be honest, i haven't had as much time to volunteer as i'd like, and the butcher job is technically a volunteering gig too. i've mostly been focused on my studies and in the shop or gym to help pay bills. i also sometimes help out at a boxing gym. i don't actually sleep all that much, haha, but i'm really good, or at least decent, at managing my time and multitasking. while i have a few minutes between working, i try to work on assignments and stuff. and like i mentioned, i basically kind of fell into my job(s) because of all the volunteering i did. the guy who owns the butcher shop is actually a friend of my grandfather, and my uncle runs the boxing gym i work at sometimes. kinda helps with coordinating my schedule and they both work with each other while they work with me. does this paint a better picture? i'm kind of bad at explaining things so i hope it does, lol.
i mean, was it solely to piss them off, or did you have a passion for it already? did the passion come later? is this just a temporary career or do you want to do this long term? just curious, and i don't want this to sound like a job interview either, but i don't meet many people like you.
@✿ j. jaehyun well ... i was trying to figure out if it was enough of a reason to bother you but eventually i just decided to it and follow my impulses. i'm sorry if this turned into a job interview lmao however your job history doesn't really explain how you find the time? do you even sleep? and is butchering a family business or just something you picked up along the way?
ah, my parents insisted on a well-rounded education and i decided to piss them off by laying my focus on an area that was merely supposed to enhance my cv :D
@✿ p. chaeyoung ohoho, curious about little ol me, are we? enough to where you were "eyeing my profile for days" too. well, i can tell you that my job history is not as interesting as you'd think. i've been working since i was, idk, 16? and i bounced around a lot because my parents always had a brother or a friend of a friend who needed help. what about you though? how did you get into pottery?
@✿ j. jaehyun this probably comes as a surprise to you but i've been eyeing your profile for days trying to make sense out of that potpourri of occupations and now i finally catered to my curiosity. please broaden my horizon and tell me how one becomes a film student, professional volunteer and a butcher. is this an episode of when i grow up ,,,,,
