the back alley is a perfect location for privacy for illegal activities or if you enjoy taking risky walks through them. Be careful what lingers in them at night though.
@Chae Hyungwon Evan listened attentively to Hyungwon's words, humans usually try to be like this, being optimistic about people and hoping that they will meet good people until someone proves them wrong and trim out to be a bad one. Naive, but amusing. "It is not how some stupid things happen, actually I believe that's why some events in history repeat themselves every couple years. It is not different from how all species do, hoping for the good things to happen is a reason to continue something" Evan let Hyungwon finish his moment of cleaning himself and the table, it wasn't a big mess but it had Evan concerned for a moment. "a favourite occupation, once I was the Duke of a nice small village having the biggest farm and a good number of horses. I was in England during that time and it was a very peaceful period of time for me until people started to make the loud cars. The main reason I had to leave after a short time. There were times when I were all by myself. And sometimes I had a family. A wife and children... I was only lucky once but stupid World War started and ever since I had been alone"
@Evan Lin ⚸ "Anyone can be dangerous...but I'd rather not live in such a fearful mindset; maybe it might sound stupid and naive, but I'd rather think someone is good before they are bad....but again....maybe that's how stupid things happen." Hyungwon calmly explained as he kept his gaze on his cup to watch the foam gradually melt by the heat underneath it.
His cheeks started to burn, and so did his mouth and nose, but both were from different causes. After he cleaned himself up, he made sure to tidy up the table if he managed to create a mess there, too. "S-sorry, its just very impressive, its just cool to meet you."
Hyungwon collected his thoughts as he learned more about Evan; once he figured out what his first question would be, he asked with an eager glint in his orbs, "What, um, were your favorite occupations? oh um...when you hid your identity, were you alone during those times?"
@Chae Hyungwon "I'm not warning you of only vampires but I guess the talk could be boring for humans to always be warned of different kinds of danger" Evan said as he reached for his own cup of ginger tea. The spicy smell made him smile a little while he watched Hyungwon. "take it easy, calm down and don't spill your drink" Evan reached for the napkins pack on the table and placed a napkin in Hyungwon's hand so he could calm down after chocking on his drink. "I wouldn't say I have lived all those years, I mean... I am this old but there are times when I only slept for years that's how I managed to survive for a very long time like this" leaning back in his chair, Evan held his cup of tea again taking drinking slowly while listening to Hyungwon's excited questions "it was a must to have different names, different occupations and different lives in order to be able to blend in with humans. There were times when I had to hide my identity completely and never even tried to look for other vampires around me and there were other times when vampires took over some spots... Those days were not the best but wouldn't say having power was bad either."
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon found himself going into a sulking state, his back rounding up as he leaned into his chair, his plush lips jutting out. He grumbles back, feeling as if he was having a scolding session for he has heard the warning so many times, " I know, I know...be careful of the vampires...my dad always tells me that."
The human slowly drifts out of his sulking bubble and begins to enjoy his hot beverage, listening to the vampire as he confesses what periods of life he had lived through.
Hyungwon choked on his drink, coughed a bit and grabbed a nearby napkin to clean up his mouth and nose. "Y-you've lived through all of those years...." Soon, his brown orbs were sparkling and twinkling; his face lit up as if he won a million bucks. "Whoa, I can't believe I met a vampire who has experienced so much. Did you have different occupations throughout life?"
@Chae Hyungwon "that's true, people do change but let me remind you vampires are not usual people. I'm not trying to scare you I'm only trying to tell you to be careful" Evan would never try to frighten a human and even though it was amusing to see Hyungwon's reaction, Evan still didn't want to make him panic too much. "Let me think, the states if America united and New Mexico got a problem, perhaps when Shakespeare started to look for other young writers to finish his own plays when he had a writer's block? I remember the time when the ancient great library of Alexandria in ancient Egypt was burned down to ashes... I'm not sure if I recall any further about that" Evan tried to list out couple events he witnessed throughout his life but at the same time he didn't want to be thought of as one of the original vampires because he wasn't.
@Evan Lin ⚸ He clenches his hands between his thighs, "But that's past you; people change and grow."
Once the waiter returned and settled their drinks onto their table, the human wrapped his hands around the warm beverage, embracing the warmth as he picked up the faint, sweet scent.
"No worries, I am still very grateful for talking to you. Mm...so how long have you been on this Earth? You seem to be around for a long time; you must have witnessed many historical things."
@Chae Hyungwon "just because a vampire like myself for example works as a heart surgeon for all species now it doesn't mean I haven't done anything crazy or dangerous centuries ago." Evan stated in a half threatening tone to test how Hyungwon would react. The human seemed to be more into the idea of giving chances for the good to prove themselves right which was admiring as not many people believe in the good these days.
Before Evan could respond to the next question, the waiter came to their table with their order and started playing the drinks with the molten cake in the middle. "The latte for him, thank you" Evan gestured so the waiter places the caramel latte in front Hyungwon and the ginger tea in front of Evan before bowing to both and leaving them to their conversation.
"Well, you said you had questions about vampires, you can ask and I will try to answer. But if it is some top secret I'm afraid I won't be able to help much"
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon blinked a few times as his plump lips become thin temporarily as he them in. He could picture the frustration the vampire held against those witches, could understand how scary it must be to try and befriend a human if they might be a witch with bad intentions.
"I've read books, there were good and bad witches in the books. But I know the good witches come at top in the end....I know real life is far from books though."
He leaned in his chair, sulking a bit as he was thinking, perking back up when something came to mind. "Before witches, when vampires were trying to mingle and coexist with humans, humans were told to fear and hate vampires. That all vampires are bad, but that's silly, not all vampires are bad, just like humans....there is goodness. If there is bad there is good and vice versa. I would be a good witch...I don't know if that proves anything..." He offers a small smile, his eyes reading Evan's, he was unsure if this would be a useless conversation of back and forth with no changes. The human wondered if it would be best to move onto topics, "would you like to talk um...about other things?"
@Chae Hyungwon Evan curiously observed Hyungwon's actions which never matched well with the fact that he stayed for a long time alone at night in an alley where many vampires should be around. It kind of confused Evan to understand what was Hyungwon really like. "What does the word witch sound like from a human point of view? I have read many books about witches as fictional characters or even theories about their existence and never and I mean never I have ever seen the word witch used to describe anything that is actually good or helpful to humans or even the universe ... Do you think anyone would want to be a witch for any good reason? Humans like to fool themselves sometimes but it doesn't really work on me" Evan stated his pure point clearly not bothered if the human before would actually understand or might be scared of him at the moment.
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon avoided the waiter's gaze as Evan took care of things, instead he people watched in the time being. Once the waiter left to complete their order he returned his soft orbs to Evan, smiling timidly.
He listened closely to the man, humming softly to himself.
"There has to be some way though...I am sure not all humans who want to be witches want to do it for bad reasons. I mean I know I would use it for good. So if we have good witches on our side...it can be possible to weigh out the bad."
@Chae Hyungwon "Very well then" Evan smiles as he called the waiter to take their orders when they sat at the table that was slightly far from the crowded area. It felt more private and quiet for them to talk. After doing that the waiter brought two glasses of water and left.
"I'm sure there is a way to stop them. According to the little knowledge I have of this cult group of witches they only showed up and sold their dark magic tricks to those who feared vampires or wanted to manipulate them..." Evan knew some of the tricks many groups of witches tried to use in order to transfer vampire powers to humans or even other witches before but that was long centuries ago so having witches showing up now is not a good sign. "If they had a starting point there will definitely be an ending point to them but old magic is preserved for many years in secretive ways it won't be easy to simply figure out their weaknesses"
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon dipped his head to show his gratitude when the door was held open for him.
He cleared his throat as he felt some heat returning to his cheeks. The timid human glanced around, capturing the customers and workers in the setting before rejoining Evan's side. "I'll take what you suggested."
He sat in the opposite chair and awkwardly rested his hands on his lap, preparing for his first time sitting with a vampire. "I...unless there is some way to stop them by other means... Or have someone disguise as a witch and find out their motives and weaknesses."
@Chae Hyungwon Evan lead the way to the cafe and pushed the door open he walked in first and held the door for Hyungwon and closed it when he walked in. "it is possible you didn't notice since you were too focused on something... If you do like chocolate then I will older this for you and for me I will have some ginger tea... I think in the mood for something spicy" Evan added while scanning the cafe quickly for a free table for only two, if they are going to keep talking about the same subject it would be better if they sit in an isolated corner. "So, you say we fight fire with fire"
@Evan Lin ⚸ The human was speechless as Evan brought a rather good point to the table and needed a moment to think, "Ah....That is true....Maybe we need witches that hunt witches...or maybe take away their abilities some how..." He trails off as he pictures the many fantasy books he has read, wondering if such ideas could be brought to fruition in this world.
Hyungwon nodded and followed behind Evan, a little timid to walk by his side as his eyes scanned his back and shoulders during the duration to the cafe. "I didn't realize I was cold...I think I was distracted..." He laughs softly as he wiggles his cold fingers to help pump the blood in them. "Mm those sound really good, what will you be having?"
@Chae Hyungwon "if witches are strong enough to simply kill anyone including vampires, jail won't be enough to hold them captive" Evan stated as a mater of fact, to him even a single vampire might not be enough to stop them. "nice to meet you Hyungwon" Evan said offering a soft smile before he moved his hand making a gesture for Hyungwon to follow him. "This way, the cafe is not far and it offered different drinks, you must be cold from standing here all alone for a long time, I would suggest their speciality of caramel latte with some molten cake if you like chocolate. I know how sweets would make humans feel warm fast" Evan spoke as they walked since he wanted to distract Hyungwon from focusing too much on the vampire topic.
@Evan Lin ⚸ He randomly blurts something, "Maybe catch them and put them in jail-"
He felt a bit silly but he still thought it would be a good idea, and his imagination was making him picture Evan as some vampire vigilante protecting everyone from the witches. Hyungwon's soft orbs began to sparkle, his smile only growing. "Oh thank you, I promise I won't take much of your time." He repeats the vampire's name mentally, not because he had bad memory but he was over the wall that he was getting to know his first vampire.
"I'm Hyungwon, um a human." He waits eagerly for Evan to lead the way to the coffee shop.
@Chae Hyungwon Evan smiles widely hearing the almost immediate answer coming from the human about not being a witch and bring against what they do killing people. "That's very sweet of you to think that it is bad to kill others, I do agree even though I want to catch those witches and kill them but it will be only a waste of their powers" Evan states darkly in tone as he watched how the human seemed to relax for a moment especially when he offered to answer his questions. "Why not? I do have some time to offer before I should go back to work. Also a cup of coffee doesn't sound bad at this hour what do you think? It is a friendly offer I promise, my name is Evan and I'm a vampire of a very long time"
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon stood straight and attentive as if he was a cadet lined up, listening to the commander, truthfully he didn't when a mess up since he has been caught. He blinks a few times when the vampire mentions about witches, something rather new he has been interested in learning about. But he was keen on learning about witches, he didn't agree with them causing harm onto others. The human quickly shook his head, his words coming out jumbled to defend himself.
"I-I'm not a witch! They seem cool like vampires and wolves...but I don't agree with them killing others....anyone that kills isn't....a good person."
Hyungwon hoped his honesty would save his , he could think of a few ideas that the vampire would handle him if he was a witch.
"Oh, I just like learning about things. And well...vampires were a taboo topic for me to learn about or even be near them."
He perks up at the suggestion, his cheeks making his face more roundish and squishy. "Really?! I mean, you are too kind. I would love to hear about it."
@Chae Hyungwon Evan glanced up at the human curiously while listening to his excuses with only a soft smile on his face. It was obvious what the human was looking for but it was never part of his personality to push on others for answers he qlready knew.
"Now you are speaking, it is not creepy or strange of humans looking around for vampires but is it okay to simply let you be? I'm not sure with the stories about witches and whatever rituals being done on vampires I can't help but suspect you as one of them. Are you one of them? You won't be able to lie but if you do I won't be able to let you go without a good interrogation" Evan tried to sound as scary as he could especially when he has been on his own soft side for so long being a doctor and a surgeon for ages already. "What is catching your interest about vampires, I believe that I'm old enough to be able to answer any of your questions but no here of course perhaps a cafe at the corner?"
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon gulped audibly as he felt the eyes of the vampire on him, as sweat was forming on his nape at the situation he had found and put himself in.
"A particular one?" He trails off and watches Evan pet the tiny kittens just a few feet away, making him feel more like an idiot with his blatant lie. "Ah-" His posture stiffens up. This stranger was no idiot; now he had no choice but to confess or run if he could outrun a supernatural being. "Uh....V-Vampires." The words were brewing at a slow and awkward pace as he adverted his gaze to the alley. "I heard vampires come around here, I...wanted to see if it was true. I......like to watch them..."
In a matter of seconds, it hits him and he smacks his face with his hands at how creepy he must sound. His face slightly red from his self-inflicted smack, he stammers to clear his name, "I mean, not in a creepy way; I just like learning about vampires and want to learn everything about them. I-I know there are books, but...but...I like this better." He holds his head up high, his cheeks slightly puffed out as he holds his breath, hoping he will be allowed to leave peacefully.
@Chae Hyungwon Evan stood leaning slightly to the wall with his arms crossed against his chest eyeing the human curiously and awaiting for him to process the situation and give him an answer which was quite far from what he expected. It's was quite amusing from the human to come up with such plain excuse especially when there was already a stray cat with her kitten few steps from them.
"are looking for a particular one? Because this one here seem to be in need for some extra food for the kittens" Evan pointed out before he walked towards the human and kneel beside him to pet the small kittens. "There is a store at the corner maybe you can bring them some food while thinking of a different reason to tell me." Evan's tone was more commanding than just simply conversing as if he wanted to make the human walk away from this place immediatly.
@Evan Lin ⚸ When Hyungwon peeked around the corner, desperately hoping and manifesting some vampires to be around, he was disappointed to find no one around. His shoulders slumped dramatically like some theater actor, and he decided he could wait five minutes just in case someone was late to the alley or head back home and finish his dull, mundane day. He remained for those five minutes and let out a soft sigh when time was up; he turned around only to become startled by the appearance of a stealthy man. His body jolted, and his hand reached to grasp his chest, stopping his racing heart from pounding too hard against his rib cage.
"Ah-S-sorry!" When the human finally processed the words that came out from Evan, he glanced over his shoulder to the alley he was snooping on. "Oh um, I was just um, looking for cats, stray ones of course. I'm not a cat thief." Hyungwon was horrible at conversations with others, let alone lying so of course he sounded like a fool.
@Chae Hyungwon From time to time, Evan would go around the dark spots where other vampires would show up, especially those with intentions other than living peacefully among other species. He would usually wait until it is deeper into the night to be there but today he had stepped out of hospital a bit earlier than usual. Taking the chance to spend more time around the area mini order to see if anything suspicious is happening around was a good chance if there is actually something suspicious. It is Evan's main interest after all.
Couple hours passed, but was still quiet, until suddenly a different presence approached. Evan thought the human would just pass by the alley but he didn't. Few minutes passed and the human was still lurking around the same spot as if searching for something. Would humans get involved in vampires' business for whatever reason? Evan asked himself but then something caught his interest. Instead of looking for someone or something, the human seemed to be looking for a spot to hide instead, perhaps a spot to be able to see everything without being caught or even noticed.
"What a bravery work you're doing by standing here!" Evan walked behind the human, talking in a calm tone still not wanting to startle the human too much.
@Evan Lin ⚸ Hyungwon had overheard that vampires tend to hang around a particular back alley after he spent a few times eavesdropping on strangers.
So, on his way home, his stride was peppy and he was eager to reach the back alley. He wanted to see if it was true, he wanted to see vampires in the alley but what would he do once he spotted them? Hyungwon could just eavesdrop on them, and stalk them from afar, something he was pretty comfortable with, but he might get spotted, and it would be hard to explain to a vampire what his intentions were.
He could also step out of his comfort zone and converse with a vampire, maybe ask to be friends....but he knew that was harder.
The human finally reached the alley and peeked around the corner to see if there were already figures in the place or if he would have to find a hiding spot and wait a few minutes.
@♔Christian Yu ⚸ [ˢᵖᵒᵒᵏʸ ᴳʰᵒˢᵗ ᵂʳᶦᵗᵉʳ] Hyungwon was more of a watcher, he enjoyed watching from afar, avoiding confrontation or socializing and letting the outside world be a visual book for his enjoyment. Here he was, stepping out of his comfort zone and putting himself into the story's edges, ready to run away if it got too much for him to handle. Fidgeting with his long, slender digits, picking at dry skin around his nail bed to keep his nerves at bay.
He noticed and assumed the man he called out to didn't hear him, so he took a few more steps, his heart racing as he got closer to the situation. Then, all the courage that Hyungwon spontaneously gained rushed out in a second when the strange man with green skin and horns appeared. He was beginning to wonder if this was a dream, or perhaps a fantasy book he had stepped into; never had he seen such a thing, even in a world of vampires and wolves. His body jolted when the weirdly dressed man with horns spoke, his energetic voice ringing and causing the tall human to shrink and curl, appearing small so he could try to be invisible in the open alley.
Hyungwon's eyes widen when the question and gaze is on him; he takes a step back, his lips parted, but no words spill out. He is afraid, unable to put down what he witnessed into words. "I-I uh.....who are you?" He finally managed to say something, though be it useless.
@Kim Yugyeom ⚸ If it wasn't for his survival instinct kicking in, Daniel would be too out of it to even pay attention to half of the words that left the vampire's mouth. When he was sure the other would spare him, he let himself relax against the dirty wall, taking the man's word for it that he wouldn't attack. Even if he did, he wouldn't be able to defend himself in such a state anyway. He was barely able to nod without wincing, the slightest movement of his head making him dizzier. At least he had managed to make a proper deal, his manager would be proud unless his death made headlines, in which case the bastard would prefer it that way. A murder case would draw more attention than a sudden death article of a former idol which translated to overdose in most cases.
After the encounter with the vampire, he was rudely awakened by a worker, throwing a huge bag of trash right next to him, besides a dumpster. Cursing under his breath, he forced himself to stand up as he searched for his phone and wallet only to realize they were both stolen. It must have been that blood er's job, even though he didn't seem like the type to steal. Then again, he had passed out for at least a couple of hours, judging from the color of the sky. The stores were just opening so it was probably close to 8am. Anyone could have found him. It took him approximately 40 minutes to reach back to his apartment. After informing his manager about the vampire incident, the man promised him to pass it to a friend of his in the police. Daniel was called in, to give a statement and a thorough description of the creature, anything that he could recall during his drunken state. Tall, broad shoulders, dark hair. They reassured him to have an officer patrolling his area and Daniel chose to take their word for granted. From then on, he avoided the direction towards the club. He also carried a pocket knife with his everywhere he went, just in case.
@Chae Hyungwon Christian had just gotten off the measly flip phone when a meek voice called too him. "...?" There's a delay in response as the head slowly cranes from his side position on the ground to see who it was calling out. The voice was unfamiliar, and while the vampire's team and who he engaged with were many, he'd know a voice if he'd engaged at some point in the past. Christian squeezes his eyes shut for a moment as the pain is overwhelming, he uttered whimper airs between bated breaths.
Upon closer inspection, the man laying on the ground had a huge hole the size of a fist or two directly to the stomach. There's no reply as the unknown young male approaches him, he can only lay there in agony. He's helpless to reply, he wants too, but he can't. Some ten minutes later, the strangest individual approaches. Like someone off a Halloween musical, a man with vivid green skin and red horns rounds the corner in a business snazzy suit rushing the ailing man on the ground.
"Kiss-cakes!! what did you get yourself into now?!" He reaches to help the man named 'Kiss-cakes' to sit up to see better, but stops short as the injury is made clear, and instead he waggles a finger;"We are gonna get you out of here and believe me Milk Dud, you are going to be so fresh and new you won't even know what happened.." A realization dawns on him, the strange man then looks to Hyungwon. "Do you know what happened here?"
@Im Changkyun⚸[H] It felt like within a blink of an eye a variety of events happened before Dylan, but the sound of Changkyun’s laugh had him raising a brow as he wasn’t sure what exactly was so funny to them.
Though when he heard the term for lines of death, Dylan raised his shoulders to shrug as part of his response.
“Death seems much more peaceful than living and I’m not concerned about what others would do.” He stated lastly.
But then- BANG- bullet went off as Dylan froze the whole scene causing him to internally panic, it felt like his whole body went numb and he was starting to get dizzy. “Wait-“ he spoke but the thud of Changkyun falling to their knee had Dylan snap out of his thoughts, and unclenching his fists as he didn’t know he was even clenching them to begin with.
His brown eyes averted to meet Changkyun’s gaze, only to blink in silence.
“Oh. Crazy…maybe a little…” he responded shortly afterwards, his mind more concerned that the male was okay. Seeing his client hurriedly sign the forms and then they all scurry off had Dylan emit a sigh of relief. Glancing down once again to extend a hand to the vampire.
“Help up? And as for dinner…I did promise. So I guess hunt me down whenever you are ready.” He commented, awaiting to see if the male takes his hand or not.
“I would offer to assist your wound but something tells me we aren’t /that/ close, you know?”
@Kim Yugyeom ⚸ From the corner of his bloodshot eyes Daniel caught the vampire slightly walking away and he nearly sighed in relief at the loss of its eerie presence beside him. The distance wasn't enough to calm him down completely but at least he could breath a bit easier without the threatening being looking down at him. When he gathered himself and managed to steady his breathing, he faced the other with a tilt of his head. It was still hard to focus so he opted to not making any unessecary moves like sitting upright. Sure the creature wouldn't be offended by his posture, it wasn't like it hadn't seen a high human before. Once his sight became clear and finally adapted to the darkness, he realized the vampire had blocked his only way of exit which brought back the tense that had momentarily eased with its departure from his side.
"No, no I'm not lyin." He quickly said, shaking his head by force of habit and pausing for a while when the headache became more intense, his eyes shut close until he composed himself.
"I CAN get you blood. From rehab. Check it, ts all over the internet." He continued, making a wait gesture with one hand while he used the other to get his smartphone from the pocket of his jeans. There were still some sites like dispatch desperate enough for scandals to the point they included a retired idol like him, writing articles about him visiting a rehabilitation center from time to time. As he tried to hold his phone up it slipped from his fingers, ending up on the ground and he couldn't hold back a wince at the loud thump as he looked up at the vampire and hoped it would spare him that much trouble to reach for it.
@Kim Yugyeom ⚸ The demanding silence along with the vampire walking closer to him had the opposite effect on Daniel than what the creature was initially intending. It only made him more eager to create some distance between them, enough to buy himself time until he could think of a better excuse that would be more likely to have the creature thinking twice about getting his hands and fangs dirty. Would the possibility of catching an STD scare him off? Daniel hadn't been tested in a while. Had he ever seen a sick vampire though? They weren't supposed to be as vulnerable as humans.
"N-no wa-Wait-" he paused raising his index finger in the air as if his arm would prevent the powerful being from iching closer if he wanted to. Leaning over he rested his elbow on one knee, half sitting against the wall as he tried to catch up his breath and focused on the steel ring around his raised finger to avoid looking up directly at the blood er. He was already scared less by the creature's mere presence lingering over him, its shadow engulfing his pathetic position the more it drew closer.
"I can get you b-blood. Top quality." That was a blatant lie but he was going to take advantage of the vampire's apparent lack of knowledge, hoping it was more familiar with more ancient kinds of lifestyle judging from him not recognizing Daniel at all. A junkie like him wouldn't be able to get his hands on anything close to hygienic but then again vampires didn't have to fear such stuff.
