X.MPIRE (Hangul: 음파제국 (romanized: eumpa jeguk), pronounced as empire, aka Reign Boys) is a South Korean K-Pop boy group formed under the Crux label of Nova Lux Corporation. They debuted on April 15, 2014 with the single 'Warrior'. The group currently consists of members Caspian, Silas, Jayden, K, Icarus, Win, Leo, Dusk, Honey, and Kion. Their fandom is called GENERALS and their official colors are Royal Green (#30381E) and Metallic Gold (#D4AF37). Their introduction phrase is "Salute! We're taking over! We're X.MPIRE!"
X.MPIRE has won Rookie of the Year (Korean Music Awards 2014), New Artist of the Year (Circle Chart Music Awards 2014), Worldwide Icon of the Year (MAMA 2018, 2020 & 2022), Album of the Year for LALALA and Born for Fame (MAMA 2023 & 2024), Top Global K-Pop Artist (Billboard Music Awards 2023), Top 10 Artist Award (Melon Music Awards 2018-2023) and 3 Daesangs and were nominated for the 2022 Grammy's.
Lore and Concept
The lore of the group connects them to their labelmates. They were sent to our Earth to take over through various types of music in different languages and styles. They were also tasked with keeping Pandora closed, but rebelled and opened the box, allowing their junior group to debut. They have gained attention for being a global group with members from all over the world, further showcasing their ability to take on any style and genre of music. The X. in the name of the group and it's units is silent in the pronounciation and represents the unknown, aludding to the never-ending concept of the group with it's undetermined amount of members and units. It also represents the unity and diversity of the group and it's style of music.
History
Pre-Debut
Each member was previously revealed to the public through Nova Lux's trainee program Nova Rookies and has had varying degrees of exposure to the public. Nova Lux Corp co-CEO Lee Chanwoo held a press conference to announce the plans of the company, which included the debuts and comebacks of several artists. Also included was the announcement of the second season of Starstruck, a collaborative survival show held by Nova Lux Corp and aired on MNET. All members participated in the show, which resulted in the first generation of members.
2014—2016: 1st Generation members debut, first units debut
The first generation of X.MPIRE members officially debuted in 2014 with members Icarus, —, Kolby, —, —, and —. Their debut single 'Warrior', was praised for it's powerful rapping and choreography. This was quickly followed by a summer EP, which featured the members singing in Spanish. The first fixed unit to debut was named X.CHAOS with members Kolby, — and — confirmed as part of the lineup with eight new members, Caspian, —, —, —, —, —, —, and —.
In 2016, the group released its first studio album, introducing new members who would go on to debut in the next fixed unit, X.DEMION.
2017—2019: 2nd Generation members debut, —, —, — & — graduate, 1st World Tour
After announcing plans for the first graduation of members, it was revealed that only four members would be the first. Fans were disappointed, and the new members that debuted were met with controversy by fans. Petitions had been sent to the company to redebut the former members, but the company released a statement, reinstating their plans for X.MPIRE to remain a rotational group. They fully support whenever a member expresses the desire to graduate and move on to a different avenue, and announce their graduation. Despite the controversy, the new members were praised for their talents, and the group embarked on their self-titled first world tour.
The group was praised and became famous for their versality and willingness to push boundaries, releasing another spanish filled album. This would set the momentum for the multinational group, who would go on to have songs in various languages.

2020-2022: 3rd Generation members debut, — & — graduate, Caspian and Silas hiatus
This era had the group focusing more on unit promotions, with each unit having comebacks and for the first time, solo activites. From dramas to runways, to MCing gigs and overseas schedules as ambassadors for luxury brands. With the COVID-19 pandemic, all activites were at a minimum, with strict protocols being followed and enforced. Unfortunately, brothers and members Caspian and Silas would fall ill, and halted promotions until they had fully recovered. They would both recover in time for Silas to participate in their respective unit's EPs for 2022.
2023-present: 4th Generation members debut, 2nd World Tour, Evan graduation
2023 marked a big year for the group, with pandemic restrictions lifted, they would embark on their 2nd world tour, Reign. The first unit to have a full album would end up being X.DEMION, who worked with well known acts in the industry like Tiger JK, Nicki Minaj, and Grey. Rumors have circulated on a full group comeback towards the end of the year, but there hasn't been anything confirmed yet.
