@✵ yang junhao ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ “ i-” mingxi stared at the other with his hand out in the other trainee’s direction, eyes widened for a couple moments before emitting a sigh of relief. “oh. oh, I see.” he mutters, swapping to mandarin too, quietly cooing at the sight of the other’s smile. “a dance…oh! it’s a rap which i'm used to but it’s korean instead, so i am getting thrown off?” Mingxi spoke out and slid his hands into his hoodie pocket, resting there while he turned attention to the other male in the room. “I could help with dance too? but please- help me too..?” he requested with a lil head tilt and an eyebrow raise. Mingxi got quiet again as he chose to walk around the other guy one time, in a circle, gazing at him if he recognized him anywhere or not. Probably just around the company, right..?
Mingxi walked over to his computer area where he had the music set up and stood in the same spot as prior to plop down on to the studio floor to rest against one of the many mirror walls, staring at the trainee again, “Jun..hao. Junhao. I’m Mingxi! Or Mango hehe.” he answers with a timid smile. “I haven’t around the company for too long? I think-” he adds and shrugs. Hopefully he didn’t seem too awkward or hell, even strange that’ll have Junhao leaving him alone for who knows what. Though he did feel a wave of relaxation when jun easily switched to speak with mango better.
@✵ zhou mingxi〘ᴍᴀɴɢᴏ〙ᵗʳᵃⁱⁿᵉᵉ Junhao took note of the language Mingxi had spoken to curse, and that along with the slight brokenness to his Korean was enough to have Junhao switch languages to speak Mandarin instead, an attempt at making the other a little more comfortable. Even if it was a very small task for him. "You're welcome," he started, and his eyes crinkled slightly with amusement as his smile widened towards the other. He really was too cute, he noted to himself. "Ah, I was just working on a dance. I don't like it all too much, but you have to do what you have to do, right? Did you want help with what you're working on?" And dammit Junhao. Why would you ask something like that?
He was cursing himself internally, but his smile remained on his face. He'd hoped that was enough to make his question seem less like something condescending, which he worried it seemed like, and more like genuinely wanting to help out with his pronunciation or anything else there was a struggle with. And then he realized something else, causing him to clear his throat awkwardly. "I'm Junhao, by the way," he said, nodding with his introduction. Wow, he thought. He should really work on getting better at introducing himself, so people don't think of him as a total weirdo. At least he really hoped this other trainee wouldn't see him that way.
@✵ yang junhao ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ he had one goal on his mind today, well one specific task that he’d set for himself. ‘don't stumble over your verses, mingxi, you can do it.’ is something he’d mutter to himself, in his head so no one else nearby would wonder if he's being strange for talking to himself because honestly speaking, everyone does that sort of habit at some point in their lives. either way, there's hardly anyone else in this dance studio to begin with, it's simply just him and another male trainee who he's seen a couple of times prior. the original objective had obviously been to repeat practice a sane amount of times before the evaluation date.
mingxi had almost gotten through the section he kept failing at, eyes widening in surprise toward the other's voice. “ i- damnit-” he uttered with a pout, in his native tongue. he glances at the latter with a curious gaze, “sorry- oh.. thank you..?” mingxi’s eyes wandered around the guy, staring at him. “wha.. um. what are you practicing? “ he adds on, his korean sounding a bit broken again since he panicked with the fact of getting interrupted.
@✵ zhou mingxi〘ᴍᴀɴɢᴏ〙ᵗʳᵃⁱⁿᵉᵉ Practice was something that was very hit or miss for Junhao. Music, instruments, singing, these were all types or practices that he enjoyed. Dance? That was a completely different story. Dancing he dreaded, and he wasn't as good at it as he was singing or the drums, or piano even which he was generally a bit weaker at. And in recent days he had been trying to learn guitar as a means of avoiding practice. And how far had he gotten with that? Not at all. He had yet to physically pick up the instrument, so it was really a meaningless form of avoiding. So here he was, trying to force himself to learn the dance to this song for his next evaluation. Here, he was, trying to force himself to dance, but getting hopelessly distracted by the other trainee in the studio instead.
He couldn't help the small smile that formed on his lips seeing the way the other guy stumbled over his words, and soon enough he was leaving his spot behind and approaching the other trainee, his head tilted as he watched. "You're good," he spoke in Korean after a while, even knowing that a line was missed and not worrying either about the fact that he may have possibly (he did) just interrupted the guy.
@✵ yang junhao ᵗʳᵃᶦⁿᵉᵉ mingxi didn't know what he was doing. well, kind of; of course he didn't blindly sign up for this whole life path, that would be ridiculous! being in a new company and all, he joined not too long ago so he's yet to personally befriend others. this whole experience isn't about knowing everyone though that wouldn't hurt, it's towards following his dreams anyways. here he was now, sat on the dance studio floor while gathering his thoughts together in order to keep calm. breathe mingxi, breathe, you've got this. something he'd repeatedly ponder to himself.
the male stood up again, brushing off any dust before walking on over to the computer which had been plugged up to some speakers for practicing. he'd been at this for over two hours by now as he had to make sure to keep focused on memorizing correctly. mingxi had only been in this whole country for a few months or so, so here he was tripping over his own words and getting upset towards it. "i.. twice- i mean, two more times.." he muttered and clicked play after restarting the evaluation song, stepping back to his spot, clearing throat before starting rap part. mingxi went fairly well before missing a whole line and gasping in realization seconds later, though continuing on like nothing happened.
