ㅤㅤㅤ❛ river's rest

@nikolas. It's strange.

They've officially been in the party for at least a year, traveling together and slaying monsters, but they hadn't really spent any time alone or, well, talking to one another outside of combat commands and group conversations. Because of this, Charming was left uncertain of how to strike up a conversation with Nikolas, his party member, when it was their turn to bathe in the springs. It was an awkward walk there, a quiet and calm shuffling out of their gear and clothes, and a small "I got you" as they scrubbed each other's backs and cleaned off before heading out to the water... And still, it felt strange, but he figured he may as well try to break the silence again.

A few paces ahead of the other, he slinks into the hot waters and hums a small sigh of sheer relief, muscles completely at ease under their heat and practically sighing as they loosen as well. "Wanna get food after this?" he attempts in his native primal tongue, hoping to come off friendly, though he just wanted an excuse to really let loose later and get a good night's rest. He slips farther down into the water and rests his head back on one of the smoother rocks as a soft groan from aches and the sting of fresh scars ping his mind, but he glances over at Niko curiously and with a polite, small smile. Even in the dim moonlight with the subtle glow of the indoors shining their way, he's still able to make out the other's larger figure. Just in case the other's senses weren't as sharp, he holds up a finger, a small ball of light floating above their heads. And he lolls his to the side to get a better look at Niko as he speaks once more: "Since it's just us, it'll be my treat... if you want."
