@Bang Chan It was another day for San, he was hustling all day keeping busy with his side jobs, part time jobs, and volunteer work.
He had been in the city for quite some time, he knew most people but not everyone knew him except...the police force.
They've always encountered a negative approach with San due to his fighting history, his bad temper that lets loose without any warnings.
With the amount of times that he has been to jail, bailed out and most officers being damaged by him.
Nowadays they leave him be- he sat at the bar with a tall glass of water. Most would think he is weird but San doesn't drink alcohol nor smoke, a rare sight nowadays for most.
He was merely allowing the buzzing sound of background noises of chatter, laughing, and glasses clinking distract him from his own thoughts.
The sound of the door opening in the distance is heard as San side glanced briefly, taking notice of unfamiliar face. A male in police uniform, handsome features and appearing somewhat foreign....he didn't recognize this cop.
But in the back of his mind when the male sat down a few stools away from San, his immediate thought is 'what did I do now..'
Staying silent as his brown irises linger back to the alcohol display behind the bar but keeping his ears listening- he wore a black hoodie, sweats, and tennis shoes. The hood of his hoodie over his head so only his side features are noticeable.
"Seems like the bar is usually the spot for individuals to wind down." He chimes into the conversation casually. Swirling the ice in his glass slowly as he shrugs.
Wiping the beads of sweat from his brow, Chan stepped out of his patrol car. It had been a long day, and he needed a moment of comfort. The Travestere Bar neon beckoned a block away, radiating warmth on that darkening street lightening everything around. He could all but taste the whiskey waiting for him inside.
As he pushed through the door, he was enveloped by the sweet odor of tobacco and wood aged to perfection. The door grumbled a bit as it swung open, and murmurs, clinking glasses, and a soft tune from the jukebox enveloped him. Travestere Bar was for locals, which meant that everybody knew everyone else's names and stories.
Chan nodded to the bartender, a burly man with a kind face and knowing smile, Mark. Without a word, Mark poured a generous measure of whiskey into a glass and slid it across the polished mahogany bar. Chan took a long sip, savoring the smooth, fiery liquid as it burned its way down his throat. His eyes moved around the room, and he recognized all the regulars scattered at their favorite spots. Old Mr. Lee was there, holding court, talking about when he was young to a group of young men who listened with raised eyebrows. Further down, two college students sat in a booth, deep in an argument.
Chan found an empty stool at the bar and sank into it with a sigh. The tension of the day began to seep from his bones. The dim lights and hum of conversation created a soothing backdrop. He made small talk with some of the regulars who stopped by, feeling the sense of camaraderie the bar encouraged.
Nursing his drink, his mind wandered back to the events of the day replaying themselves in his head. Arrests, paperwork, vigilance demanded by his job-all took their toll on him. Still, here, inside these intimate walls of Travestere Bar, he could let his guard down, even if just a little.
Mark broke into his reverie by topping off his glass. "Rough day?" he asked with a knowing look. Chan nodded, offering a small smile in return.
"Just one of those days," Chan replied, taking another sip of his whiskey. The warmth spread through his chest, easing the tension in his muscles.
As the night wore on, Chan found himself loosening up with his burdens forgotten for the moment. He chimmed in on a few, shared a laugh with Mark, and even played a game of darts with one of the regulars. Travestere Bar was more than just a place to drink; it was a haven, a very small corner of the world where he could find an escape from the demands that came with being a policeman.
@Choi San Dongwook glanced down at the new note, a smirk tugging at his lips as he read San’s message. His eyes flickered up to catch San’s wave, and he nodded in acknowledgment. The mischievous glint in his eyes hinted at his amusement. He scribbled a quick reply on the napkin, folding it neatly before passing it back: ‘A clever suggestion. Politicians are indeed predictable. I suppose I’ll have to follow through if you insist. Safe travels.’ Dongwook then raised his glass in a subtle, parting gesture of thanks, a smile lingering on his lips as he watched San make his exit. Once San was out of sight, Dongwook turned his attention back to the politician, a renewed sense of focus in his demeanor as he prepared to continue their conversation.
@✪ Lee Dongwook As San's glass now sat half empty, he found himself chuckling mainly to himself.
He couldn't believe that he was sitting here sending notes like a highschooler to a man he kept running into.
What are the odds of that? He thought.
He was caught off guard by the sudden return of a note, "Oh?" He whispered to himself as he unfolds the napkin.
His lips curved upward into an amused expression while he quickly wrote down a returning note, handing it off that read.
'Wasting time. Bugging someone now, but I have to head out shortly. Getting late for me. Could always tell your business friend a lie and that you have someone waiting at home for you. Politicians tend to always put lovers first anyway.'
Next thing that occurred, is San finally standing up from the stool, nodding his head to the bartender before sneaking a peek over to Dongwook. His hand rose to wiggle a few fingers as a waving gesture to the older male.
@Choi San Dongwook's amusement grew as he discreetly read the new note. The politician continued his monologue about zoning laws, but Dongwook's attention was now split. He raised his glass again, giving a subtle nod towards San, acknowledging the note. Keeping his composure, he scribbled a response on a napkin and signaled the waiter to deliver it back. The note read: ‘Caught me. Business has its moments. Your notes are a nice distraction. What about you? Enjoying the view?’ He handed the note to the waiter, who quickly slipped it to San. Dongwook maintained his professional facade, engaging with the politician as if nothing had happened, but his mind was now partially focused on the intriguing stranger across the bar.
@✪ Lee Dongwook Curious eyes lingered back and forth upon Dongwook and the politician, he was wondering what they were discussing after all.
As he watched the waiter successfully pass on his little note, the amused expression upon Dongwook's facial features had San muffling a brief chuckle.
Funny- he thought, at least Dongwook had a sense of humor. He was starting to think the male was always smirking for no reason.
Though without realizing he was staring longer than intended, the realization that Dongwook had raised his glass to San had him choke briefly in surprise. Damn, he's been spotted.
With a slight flustered state, San tries to recollect himself by clearing his throat and glancing away from the two men. Reaching his hands up to re-position his hoodie to cover his face once more, while side eyeing the bartender.
He asked for another napkin, to repeat his previous tactics.
Once again writing a note and passing it along.
This time it read,
' You look bored. Talking business, I assume. Bet you are wishing you'd be partying or annoying someone by now huh? :) '
@Choi San Despite the bar bustling with laughter, chatter, and people having a good time, Dongwook felt detached. The faint sound of a pianist playing in the background provided a soothing contrast to the lively atmosphere, but his mind was preoccupied with maintaining his professional image in front of the politician. Suddenly, a waiter discreetly handed Dongwook a crumpled napkin. Curious, he smoothed it out and read the message: "You don't look like you are having fun." Dongwook’s eyes scanned the bar, searching for the source of the note. He caught a glimpse of San, who was subtly observing him from a distance. A small, amused smirk played on Dongwook’s lips as he folded the napkin and slipped it into his pocket. He turned his attention back to the politician, maintaining his composed demeanor. However, a hint of mischief sparkled in his eyes, and he couldn't resist the urge to glance back at San. He raised his glass slightly in San’s direction, acknowledging the playful gesture, before returning to his conversation. Dongwook's expression remained professional, but his thoughts were now split between the conversation with the politician and the intriguing presence of San in the bar. The unexpected note had added a layer of amusement to his evening, and he found himself looking forward to the next encounter with the playful stranger.
@✪ Lee Dongwook Despite the bar bustling with laughter, chatter, and people having a good time. The faint sound of a pianist playing in the background can still be heard though San's eavesdropping ears happen to tune in when he overheard Dongwook's name.
Impossible, he thought.
With a slow turn of his head, he caught sight of the older male with...a politician- why? He thought.
He quickly turned away to whisper the bartender over for a pen and napkin.
Writing on the napkin 'You don't look like you are having a fun.'
He crumbled the napkin and carefully waved down a waiter to advise them to pass this along to Dongwook in a sneaky manner.
San peeked over but not too obviously, as to remain in secret. He merely observed Dongwook's reaction to his playful gesture.
@Choi San Dongwook leaned against the bar, his gaze distant as he sipped his drink. The influential politician beside him, animated and jovial, clapped him on the back and urged him to relax. “Come on, Dongwook, loosen up a bit! You need to enjoy yourself. It’s a good night!” Dongwook forced a smile, nodding along, though his mind was elsewhere. His thoughts were consumed with the upcoming shopping mall project—the one he needed the politician’s approval for. This project was crucial for his money laundering operation, and gaining the politician’s favor was essential. He plastered on a façade of enthusiasm, engaging in polite conversation and making sure to appear genuinely interested in the politician’s anecdotes. His mind, however, was calculating, analyzing every word and gesture to ensure he made a positive impression. The music in the bar was loud, and the crowd seemed to be having a great time, but Dongwook found it difficult to immerse himself in the festivities. He was preoccupied with maintaining his professional demeanor and ensuring that everything went smoothly. Every laugh, every gesture, was carefully measured to align with the impression he wanted to make. As the night wore on, Dongwook continued to balance the act of seeming relaxed and professional, all while keeping his focus on the bigger picture—securing the politician’s endorsement and advancing his own agenda.
@✪ Lee Dongwook Once again, he lands himself at the usual bar.
He was roaming the night on his own once again, he had just finished a fight therefore his attire is very casual streetwear.
The usual black hoodie, sweat pants and tennis shoes. This time though, his hands are wrapped in protective tape.
The bartender here favored San, he always allowed San to sit down and simply enjoy the piano music and small chatter of folks nearby.
The atmosphere sorrowful for young San, he missed going out and hanging with friends. The only reason why he didn't anymore are for two reasons.
One, his job.
Two, he always got arrested for defending friends.
It was a repeating annoyance-
The past memories having him sigh in slight despair, while he babysits a iced water with lemon. Caramel colored eyes not wavering whenever someone tried to approach in their drunken state as he wasn't entirely dressed appropriately with his collar bone revealed and part of his shoulders. He would disagree and say that he is simply comfy. The reflection of his families crescent chain, dangling from his neck bouncing off his glassware.
@Choi San Dongwook’s gaze remains cold, but a subtle flicker of amusement dances in his eyes as he watches him. The audacity of the man in front of him is almost amusing. "Interesting act you've got there," Dongwook says, his voice dripping with a mix of condescension and curiosity. "Civilians and their little rebellions. It's almost endearing, really." He takes a deliberate step forward, his presence commanding attention as he gestures to his men, signaling them to let him pass. The room's atmosphere shifts slightly as Dongwook's authority reasserts itself. "Enjoy your night out then. Just remember, there are boundaries even in 'territory' you think you can stroll through," Dongwook continues, his tone edged with a thinly veiled warning. As he flashes his charming grin and makes his exit, Dongwook’s eyes follow him with an unreadable expression, a hint of admiration for his audacity mingling with the irritation. He chuckles softly at his parting shot. "Clever. But don’t make it a habit of trying to outwit me. It’s a game you might not always win." His voice is low and steady, laced with a promise of consequences should the game continue. With a smirk, he watches him leave, the corners of his mouth curving up as if he’s already imagining the next encounter. Turning back to his men, Dongwook shakes his head slightly, a gesture that mixes exasperation with amusement. "Make sure everyone knows this was a warning, not an invitation," he instructs his subordinates. His tone leaves no room for doubt that any future transgressions will be met with far less leniency
@✪ Lee Dongwook Oh...tough guy...he thought.
San wasn't intimidated by most people. He kept to himself, he did what he wanted, when he wanted most times.
Interacting with people for longer than intended was always an annoyance to him.
So this dude, having a tone with him and looking at him with this cold hearted gaze only led for San to blankly stare in return.
"Right....right...the usual words that are spoken. In that case, forgive me big boss man. How dare a civilian like myself try to enjoy a night out alone in solitude. In YOUR territory-" he comments, though this time his tone is submissive and less threatening.
Stepping his footing side to side, before exhaling a sigh. Dumb...all of this is dumb-
He eyes the men that are present, mainly taking note of how many.
He ever so casually strolls his way towards the door with a hum of a tune leaving his lips. San was ultimately trying to stay as calm as possible, he wasn't ever good at keeping calm for long. He could feel himself grow irritated the longer he chatted with whoever the heck that old man is...
Claiming 'his territory' bull. Gangs are always so possessive, its quite repetitive-
"Anyway...nice chatting. See ya guys around, enjoy the rest of your night. Or don't- what do I care?"
He ensured to glance over to the big dog, flashing a devious charming grin. Raising one of his hands to wave briefly before chuckling softly.
"Also....your shoelaces are untied..." he states while glancing down at the male that stood closer to him, and without a doubt the idiot looks down while San further chuckles. Perfect, he thought.
@Choi San Dongwook's gaze hardened as he approached, his smile disappearing into a cold, calculating stare. “You think this is amusing, huh?” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “Let me make something clear. You’re in my territory now. I don’t appreciate anyone meddling in my affairs, especially when it’s done with a charming grin.” He glanced at the bartender, who shifted uncomfortably under the weight of Dongwook’s intimidating presence, before returning his steely gaze to San. “This isn’t just about public space or eavesdropping. It’s about boundaries and respect. And you’re dangerously close to crossing both.” Dongwook’s voice grew colder, more menacing. “I suggest you back off and mind your own business before things get unpleasant. Consider this your warning. You wouldn’t want to test how far I’m willing to go to keep things under control.”
@✪ Lee Dongwook He could hear the sounds of steps drawing closer and judging from the expression of the bartender who was trying to calm down the male standing behind San.
Bartender kept shaking his head and mouthing the words, 'bad temper' as if warning the latter.
Humorous-
San found this to be another annoyance on his list of things that annoyed him today.
"Number...20 on my list of most annoying things for today..." he casually spoke, turning his body around in the chair to now face everyone with his lips curved upward into a charming grin.
"This is a public space, sir. I'm merely spending a relaxing time with myself. Not intentionally eavesdropping either, everyone else in this bar can clearly hear what you are discussing." He explains, taking a moment to stand up from his chair.
His aura shifted, his smile disappearing and his eyes sharpening as he eyes the male before him.
"Mind giving me some space?" He asked in a calm tone.
San's temper was never fun and he didn't like getting mad...so he held back for now.
@Choi San As Dongwook and his gang reveled in the success of their latest deal, the festive atmosphere was disrupted by the unnerving presence of a stranger who seemed to scrutinize them with an unsettling intensity. Noticing the stranger’s intrusive gaze, Dongwook’s expression darkened. Without a word, he subtly signaled one of his most intimidating associates to handle the situation. The associate approached the stranger with a steely, unyielding demeanor, his eyes cold and assessing. Dongwook, leaning back with an aura of chilling calm, kept his gaze locked on the stranger, his body language radiating a palpable threat. If the stranger’s behavior persisted, Dongwook was ready to escalate, his voice cold and commanding. “You’ve been staring for too long,” Dongwook would say, his tone devoid of warmth. “I suggest you leave before things get unpleasant. We’re not here to entertain curious onlookers.” The threat in his words was clear, and his unblinking stare left no room for doubt—disturbing their privacy was not an option, and the consequences for overstepping would be severe.
@✪ Lee Dongwook As he sat there minding his own business, the sound of multiple people entering like a group more than two catches San's attention.
He slowly turns his head to watch as multiple men enter dressed in the finest clothing.
Bingo- he thought. He could tell from the outfits, demeanor and the way they spoke to each other.
A nod of confirmation to himself occurs, as he brings the nonalcoholic beverage to his brims, taking a slow, small sip before merely circling the pad of his pointer finger around the rim of the glass cup.
"Guess they are unwinding tonight...doesn't seem like a business meeting." He whispers to himself, though he happens to catch a glimpse at one of the males staring his way.
Most people would look away but San matched the energy, before ever so casually looking away to now converse with the bartender.
"Busy night for you huh? Those folks come here often?"
He was trying to get intel- flashing his brief smile that gave a glimpse of his dimples before they soon disappeared.
He wondered why they chose /this/ bar out of all the bars, but guess he was about to find out.
@Choi San Dongwook steps into the travestere bar, where the ambiance is a striking blend of elegance and sophistication. The space exudes a refined charm with polished floors, rich wooden accents, and plush, velvet seating. The lighting is soft yet opulent, casting a warm glow over the meticulously arranged tables and the gleaming bar. He and his select few gang members are greeted by the attentive staff and escorted to a private area set aside for their celebration. The table is beautifully set with high-end glassware, crystal decanters, and an array of gourmet appetizers that reflect the bar’s upscale nature. As they settle in, the sophisticated atmosphere continues to impress. The performances, while extravagant, maintain an air of class, showcasing talented artists in elaborate costumes that add to the bar’s luxurious vibe. The music is a mix of jazz and contemporary tunes, providing a smooth, melodious backdrop to the evening’s festivities. The gang members, dressed in sharp attire fitting the venue, enjoy their high-end cocktails and fine wines. The conversation is lively yet refined, with toasts and laughter punctuating the night as they celebrate their latest deal. The elegance of the venue enhances the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie among them, making the night a memorable occasion of both relaxation and indulgence.
@✪ Lee Dongwook Another day, another job.
Those words specifically pop up into San's brain almost every day unless he actually got a break from his chaotic duties.
Todays duty though....not something he signed up for but was told to do anyway.
"Discussing business.....huh..." the words are mumbled under his breath but truth be told this was just his gangs way of pushing his buttons or at least that is what he convinced himself it is.
They rambled on about scoping out this new gang that came into town, which sounds awfully annoying to San personally but again he simply had one job.
Somehow he managed to sniff out where one or a few of the members would be at tonight so he lingered at the bar in his casual clothing of a plain black tshirt, and grey sweatpants along with tennis shoes. He was not there to impress anyone, so he didn't care.
He however was babysitting a cocktail as he actually didn't drink alcohol. Personal choice on his part.
With that being said, the noise that crowded the bar was without a doubt obnoxious but he played his role, keeping a laid back energy as he awaited to see if he can scope out the new gang members.
He had a hunch that they would run into each other tonight...a huge gut feeling.
