information
Where is Ayrton?
Ayrton is a fictional metropolis located in a fictional country. Many would say it is similar to London, Seoul, and Los Angeles with its vast size, mixture of old and modern, and diverse population. We encourage a wide range of characters and backgrounds, so feel free to explore new faces or try out characters you don’t often see.
Is there a limit on the number of characters allowed to have certain jobs?
Yes, some jobs will have a cap to ensure a balanced and diverse character pool. For instance, if there are too many characters with the same occupation - such as eight baristas amongst thirty playable Ayrtonians - we may place a restriction on new characters choosing that job. Certain roles, like government titles (mayor, senator, governor), will also require approval from the admin team due to limited spots. If you’re having trouble choosing a career for your character, we recommend brainstorming with other writers or checking out the following sites:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5
How is crime in Ayrton?
Ayrton is a generally safe city, making it an ideal place for newcomers to start the newest chapters in their lives and for multigenerational families to build their futures. Like many other major cities, Ayrton does have its less than savory areas and a few crime organizations here. However, don’t expect it to be anything like Gotham City - daily wild car chases are not the norm while constant chaos is simmering under the surface.
Why is the name "Pennbrook" mentioned so often?
The name Pennbrook appears frequently throughout Ayrton because many places and landmarks are named in honor of William J. Pennbrook, a businessman and major philanthropist. A self made man, Pennbrook never forgot his humble beginnings and used his wealth to support causes like education, poverty, and healthcare. His family continues his legacy to this day, furthering his commitment to the community.
Can we play as members of the Pennbrook family?
As of right now, we do not permit writers to be part of the Pennbrook family.
What sports teams are in Ayrton? Can our characters be part of them?
Currently, Ayrton is home to several teams: AFC Ayrton (soccer), Ayrton Stallions (football), Ayrton Cove Angels (baseball), and Ayrton Rockets (basketball). The city has been blessed with Olympian athletes. Additionally, there is an established race scene with notable racers from Ayrton having competed in the Formula series, NASCAR, and IndyCar Series. Your characters may be part of the teams, or be part of the sports scene, but they or their families cannot own the local teams at this time. Similar to the career limit, if we see too many characters playing in a certain sport that is not realistic, we will cap the amount of athletes in that category.
What is the weather like in Ayrton?
We follow all the four seasons.
Is there a set IC timezone for us to follow?
