• EX (VIRTUAL) LOVER // any gender // drama, could be angst?

when dami was studying in melbourne, she met you online and both of you decided to label yourselves in a relationship. within almost two years through the relationship, you spent a lot of fun and hard times together online; texting, talking through calls, video calls and even sleep calls. both of you have expressed how serious you were with the relationship and at some point you both promised that you would meet up. you both kept saying that you both would visit each other (although the plans always failed for some reason) and most importantly you said you would wait for dami to come back to korea. dami made that one of her motivations to finish her school quickly, diligently, and come back home. but one day you broke up with her out of the blue and cut off contacts with her completely. she lost you without a trace. dami was upset and sad because you were her first ever lover and she loved you a lot, but she's over that.

to the recent days, dami knew that you live in wineport, and eventhough she’s moved on, when her family offer her move to wineport instead of seoul after she graduated  —  saying that she might get a better life and job by starting in a small town, she saw this as a chance to meet you too somehow. but who are you actually? and why did you break up with her suddenly? or do you have secrets you kept away from her when you were together?

it was unconventional, to say the least, to have a roommate of the opposite , but they made it work. he scrubbed the toilets while she cut through kitchen grease, he made meals but she made the snacks, and when strangers would drop by their apartment, he'd scare them off and make them leave, and in return, he received what felt like a life-long friendship. to hyunbin, it was as if he'd found his soulmate in his best friend, but were they really ever friends?

⤷    i was thinking they'd be college roommates? no need to have attended college, but definitely a need for a cheap room 7-9 years (holy has it really been that long since college) ago during a weird move-in period where it was difficult to find roommates.

⤷    synergy between the characters takes priority over everything else! i'd love to discuss the complexities of your character to ensure they, at base line, get along as detailed in the plot (otherwise, this would be something completely different)!
   ↳    i was thinking lots of road trips and travelling together! i'm hoping maybe it's someone who arrived in wineport around the same time as hyunbin so they could experience a lot of new memories of the town together. when hyunbin thinks of wineport, he couldn't imagine it without the roommate he shared these experiences with.
   ↳    mismatched attraction. hyunbin is definitely one who's cautious to open up and be vulnerable and he's deliberate when it comes to relationships. for sure, he feels an unconditional love for his dear roomie, but he's unsure if it's the kind of love that he can return to the way she feels (if she does feel that way).
   ↳    reluctance to enter serious relationships. hyunbin had always been very intentional with who he chooses to open up to, but the lack of relationships he'd been in since moving to wineport have been seriously low. the reason for this is because he cares about what his roommate thinks. he trusts her judgement and if she doesn't like a girl he's interested in, he'll keep cautious and ponder which is more important to him: his roommate, or the potential future with this girl; of which, his roommate has won a majority of.

⤷    absolutely no reason to still live together lmao but with a friendship so deep it's hard to see them grow apart when they continue to live in the same city. as they grow from young adults to working adults with their separate lives, there probably seems to be little connecting the two of them anymore and i'd like to explore why they're so desperate to cling onto that little connection. are they clinging onto their disappearing youth or perhaps they've come to realize that maybe their relationship is more complicated than they thought it to be.

⤷    there is absolutely no outcome of this plot where hyunbin comes out unscathed. although he's reluctant to admit any romantic feelings toward his roommate, he still cares about her dearly. she was someone synonymous to this strange new town and if he could go back and time, he'd experience it all over again in the same way. as an adult, she always had a role in his life and there's part of him that's reluctant to let go of someone he's come so fond of.

One day, after a particularly intimate cleaning, you admit to fantasizing about her and confess your attraction. Yewon is torn between maintaining her professionalism and giving in to the heat between you.

Feeling overwhelmed by her new life in Wineport, Yewon takes a quiet walk to clear her mind and ends up at a park, where she meets you, someone also grappling with personal pain. Without saying much, they sit in shared silence, each finding comfort in the other’s presence. Eventually, they open up about their struggles.

On a day off, Yewon decides to explore Wineport's famous vineyard, eager to unwind and experience the local charm. She joins a tasting tour and enjoys the atmosphere.. until the wine goes down a bit too smoothly. By the end of the tour, she's a little tipsy, her usual reserved nature slipping away. That is when you appear, having also been a part of the tasting tour, you also just so happen to live in the same apartment complex as Yewon. Concerned, you help get her home safely. The next day, she is blowing up your phone with apologies.

Yewon arrived to Wineport a day before her roommate and close friend. Unfortunately for her, the moving company mixed up her move-in dates and brought the entirety of their belongings on the day she arrived instead of the next day. Due to this, she ends up attempting to move everything into her shared apartment by herself.
Dolly in one hand, and an iced americano in the other, she begins to painstakingly carry boxes inside. That, is where you come in. Spotting the girl struggling to push a large box onto the dolly, you become a momentary knight in shining armor, stepping in and offering assistance. Together, the two of you move everything into her new place (despite her awkward attempts at convincing you not to).

Yewon, still getting settled into Wineport, accidentally receives a package meant for someone else, an important-looking envelope with personal details. Feeling awkward about the mix-up, she decides to return it to the address on the package. When she arrives, she meets you, the recipient, who’s both surprised and amused by the mistake.
