a chuckle quickly left jungkook as his gaze followed the stranger's fingers as they traced along his hand feeling the warmth radiating from the latter's fingers against his bare skin. jungkook couldn't help wiggling his fingers slightly only to let his head tilt to the side while listening attentively as the stranger spoke. "Seriously? I've have to come by then I already have one arm filled I always have the other one but with what I do for a living that may be pushing it?" he crinkled his nose at the thought only to send the now introduced, Altair, a smile. "You're fine I too would do the same if I saw something that I was very passionate about. But is there really no proper ink around here?" He asked rather surprised his brows going up slightly. "I'll have to come by your studio though maybe I can see some of your work?" he suggested
not a single moment of hesitation existed as the hang was presented to him, both of his own reaching out to grab it with surprising gentleness for a gesture so bold. the grin on altair's face grew as he closely inspected the work put into the skin, tracing a particular li e along the knuckles with the pat of his thumb.
"yeah, i opened up a new studio a few days ago, she's a real beauty. y'should come by, love, m'sure we can find somethin' to tickle your fancy," he answered quickly, glancing up at the other through his lashes at the other, humming at the name. that, too, sounded familiar. probably was nothing, though. "altair, pleasure's fully mine, darlin'. sorry for barrelin' towards ya like a bear sniffing honey, got all excited when seein' some proper ink again, ."
the sudden unfamiliar voice ripping through the air had Jungkook looking around trying to find the source of the voice hoping to put a face to it. Took him a second to spot the stranger, his eyes reflecting nothing but curiosity while a rather friendly smile took over his lips slightly leaning towards the stranger to hear him better. "Nothing wrong with staring as long as it's coming from a good place." he spoke in a soft manner his smile now turning into a grin, his gaze now coming down to the inked hand of the stranger taking noticing of the eccentric designs covering his hand. "Oh you're a tattoo artist? You definitely can I don't see why not but it's nothing special really." he let out a rather sheepish chuckle as I shifted the coffee cup from one hand to the other as he held his hand out in order to show off the tattoos covering his fingers as well as his knuckles. "I'm Jungkook by the way, yourself?" he called out while bringing his gaze away from his own hand to look at the stranger expectantly
there was still such obvious laughter on altair's face as he stumbled out from one of the smaller shops with a hand-printed tote bag - the design clearly showing off a stylistic version of a greek statute - full of groceries draped over one arm, the other angled in a way that gave away the fact that he was just ending his phone call. the mirth not quite gone, he walked through the cozy streets of his new home with a particular pep in his step, throwing bright grins in the direction of everyone he passed - until his eyes caught the familiar shadows on dark ink on unfamiliar hands.
"oi, pardon me, love. could'na help but to stare a bit," he called out, bold and large as always, the usual teasing tilt to the edges of his drawl. there was nothing but confidence in the way he approached the stranger - though the face did look a tad familiar - already lifting his free hand to show off his own inked hand. "been lookin' for inspiration fr'the studio. mind if i take a look at those pretty digits of yours, eh?"
Jungkook crinkled his nose as the cold breeze welcomed his bare face while he exited the coffee shop. His hands cradling the warm disposable paper cup filled with coffee as he began walking along the sidewalk. Jungkook's eyes wandered around the sights that the town square had to offer feeling a bit nostalgic at the somewhat familiar sights though there had definitely been some changes here in there. It was nice being able to relax though this wasn't something he could really do in the busy city. He brought a hand up to fix the coat he was wearing before bringing the coffee up to take a drink trying his best not to burn himself having a soft hum in approval escape him afterwards. As his gaze took in the beautiful scenery he definitely couldn't deny it was nice to be back in Wineport.
walking through the square, dami spotted an apparently stray calico cat nearby then pushed her sling bag to her front, pulling out a pack of dry food before she crouched down. she petted the cat—whose immediately started circling around her and rubbed herself against dami's legs in a possessive and affectionate manner—as she gradually poured down the food on the ground. "hi, kitty. why are you here alone?" she murmured, watching the cat eating the food eagerly. "sorry i didn't bring a better food.."
yeah, pants. britches. sorry, ya can take the man out of the south but can't take the south out of the man.
he's leaning forward, legs crossed and one elbow resting on top, his chin in a tattooed hand; there is more curiosity in his gaze now that he takes in the sight of the man with just a little more care, a little more interest.
good thing they didn't, probably wouldn't have been the rich white boys gettin' all of the trouble. i've had my personal run-ins, but none wild enough for a story-- yeah, yeah. opened up a lil' tattoo studio, real beauty. nothin' too grand, still fixin' to plan a proper opening party, been a soft launch so far. lovely so far, everyone's been sweet as honey. what brings you here?
briches…?
his brows furrow every so slightly, lips parting and head nodding as he tries to follow along with altair. despite his confusion, his friendly smile doesn’t falter.
pants? getting the cops called on y’all would have definitely been exciting. the thrill of living life on edge. adrenaline inducing. where did you move from? are you enjoying it so far? shop- for work- I assume?
nah. worse than the movies. just a bunch of chris's and jake's too big for their briches gettin' drunker than cooter brown and then gettin' sick all over their mommy's rose bushes. nothin' too grand to have the neighbours call the cops on us, either. would have been more excitin'.
the laughter is lighter now though it is still there, still tinting every drawn out syllable, amusement evident in the way he dips his head just so, allows the grin on his face to brighten further.
altair, real pleasure. moved to town just a couple of weeks ago myself, been cooped up in the shop until now.
sounds like your life was a little wild, wasn’t it— were the parties just like how it was in the movies?
he laughs a little, amused at the stark contrasts between the other’s memories and his own. his real memories, not the ones he’d just made up seconds ago. he smiled at the thought, empty. his gaze moved between altair, rico, and eunsoo.
i’m siwoo by the way. just moved to town.
the sounds awaken memories of frankly horrible backyard bonfires and white boys doing their best to show off how much beer they can chug before their little girlfriends have to drag 'em home.
the last few words already shake slightly with barely hidden laughter, hands dropping back into the safety of his pockets.
guess we can put some romance in it though, try to make the memories a tad nicer in our minds. less like in' fever dreams.
a small chuckle leaves him at the movements.
the sounds just bring back memories of summer. like when you’re trying to study and they’re keeping you company outside your window. or when you’re both trying to beat the heat under a nice shady tree. would I ever touch one, never—
they're mostly annoying, no? could never really get behind the whole-
he raises both of his hands, fingers moving to mimic air quotes.
"cicada sounds are relaxing" thing. back home, we used to play all too loud music to drown those little bastards out, probably gave me more hearin' loss than they'd ever do.
yeah, no- i would burn if a grasshopper decided to jump me.
dohyun cringes back at the mention of another one of nature's "precious" inhabitants, his eyes flickering to the others.
nice enough. they sound pretty as long as there aren't a million of them.
"nice? what's nice?" eunsoo's voice carries over due to the breeze as she approaches the small group; when she realizes the conversation pertained to the small critters, her nose wrinkles. "oh... please tell me you did /not/ just call insects nice, whoever said that...?"
at least they ain't as much of a pest as their big cousins, yeah?
his nose wrinkles up, even as a cheeky grin overtakes his face.
grasshopers, ya'd think they could eat a polecat from the north to the south end with how fast they chomp through the crops.
.....
he had planned to come by to say hello to Maia but instead he heard the strange conversation and decided to walk away.
Not entertaining this strange conversation-
The device is lightly shaken side to side in a playful manner as Altair looks closer, accompanied by a smile, "well maybe the place is crawling with cicadas and crickets, who knows?" He joked, putting his phone away then handed the heat pack given to him earlier to the other male, "I believe you need this more than I do, Mr. Song, have a seat," Rico sit up straight and scoots over to give an ample space for Altair, "I believe you were getting a hot beverage?"
the phone being presented to him is taken as an invitation to push off of his bike and move closer, leaning in just enough to still make it seem casual whilst squinting at the screen.
well, color me wrong, damn. s'the second time it caught my attention just today, both times ya' were around, so i assumed.
he straightens up once more, flashing a sharp grin, both hands disappearing within the warmth of his leather jacket pockets.
still real' memorable, tho.
:pointed fingers: Sorry for not applying these past few days. I'm having a crisis with another muse that I'm being coaxed to experiment with. I'll try to get in once all is stable.
