@☁ Mir [ Sorry, this one is gonna be short >___< ]
"Mir..."
Hye stepped a little closer, her face clearly in worry. "H-hey, what's wrong...?" she asked feebly, but he was already backing away. "M-mir...." The Queen pouted, watching her only friend back away from her down the hall. "B-but... Mir... Please..."
She could feel her heart breaking just at the sight of him right now. What had happened? What had gone wrong for him to be this upset? No matter how much he tried to look away and hide it, she knew how he acted when he was not feeling well. She saw and recognised every little detail about his actions, the same as they had been when they were younger.
But she knew better than to push him. If he needed to be alone, then she'd let him be alone. If anything, it was better to just wait until he maybe wanted to talk later.
@☁ Hyelim Mir felt like he was dragging his feet. He'd needed to get out of there. It was too crowded, too claustrophobic and he couldn't breathe. Why did she need to come? Of all places, of all times, he hadn't been ready to see her. The apologies he'd wanted to make hadn't been fully crafted yet. He felt a huge weight gripping his shoulders with sharp, fashioned talons, a worry constricting his throat - he was convinced that he was worse off now than when he'd abandoned her at Oceanside.
Mir swallowed hard, his throat dry, his fists clenched, desperately begging to punch something. Why couldn't he have just manned up and said something? No matter the audience, no matter his fears, he should have won her back... somehow.
But that was never going to happen. He'd cursed himself, her tears his doing, her shattered heart broken at his hands. He wanted to swear, wanted to scream and being the whole palace shuddering down to dust and-
A body collided into his and he stumbled back in numb shock. For a second, he was too clouded by his thoughts to untangle himself enough to recognise her.
Made no difference when she was the one doing the recognising.
Mir swore under his breath and turned sharply away, his eyes clouded over like shadows. "I don't want to talk about it, Hye," he clenched his jaw, taking footsteps away from her down the hall. "I just want to be alone."
@☁ Mir Hyelim sighed as she turned to walk back towards the Throne Room, knowing she couldn't delay much longer. They would be looking for her soon, if they hadn't already began. They would not want her out of sight for too long, fearing something might happen to her as it had her cousin.
If going back in there just didn't mean having to face all those old ed men.
The young Queen drew a deep breath before she stepped foot within the hallways of the palace again. She could hear the echo of the party all the way here, her stomach tightening up as she began walking back towards the sounds. Just a dance or two and it would be the end of the celebration.
But as she passed a corner, she almost ran head first into someone. Hyelim immediately took a step back, bowing her head politely. "I'm s-so sorry, I s-should have looked where I was go-" She glanced up. Mir?
"M-mir? H-hey. I... W-why are you not at the coronation?" she asked bluntly, blinking her innocently eyes the way she would use to do when she needed answers from him. "Is it because of that girl?"
@☾ Hwasa A light laugh trailed off Hyelim's lips, echoing off the small walls in the courtyard. "You don't have to apologize~" It was impossible to hinder the bright smile on her lips, even when the woman's touching words made her blush grow even brighter. "Y-you... You really think so?" Hyelim asked, her fingers playing nervously over the ring on her right hand, spinning it slowly around her index finger. With a small smile, the young queen gave a twirl, giving the other woman a better look at the dress. "You're probably the first to actually compliment me on it," she hummed, feeling a little touched. "So far, I've only felt somewhat uncomfortable at wearing something... well... Like this."
Hyelim's eyes were back up on the woman, her head cocked slightly to the side as the woman coughed. "A-are you okay?" she asked worriedly, almost reaching out to touch the woman, but stopped herself. It wasn't sure the woman would enjoy the touch of someone that was a stranger to her. The clothing she wore spoke of combat and Hye wasn't sure she'd want to appear as a threat to the other.
"W-well... You do have the benefit of f-form fitting clothes," Hyelim admitted innocently, cheeks blushing up as she looked shyly away from the woman's eyes. She had been giving the other's body a few glances every now and then. "A-and you have a very regal face. It's... It's very beautiful."
"H-hye...jin?" Hyelim smiled slightly, giving a light chuckle. "So, Hye then?" she added, glancing up and laughing yet again. "Sorry, I shouldn't be laughing, that's rude," she mumbled and quickly held a hand over , but her eyes still showed the smile that was hiding beneath the hand.
Hwasa? What an odd name. But... It was a little cute too.
"Hwasa...? Okay then, Hwasa, my knight in... Well, leather armor~" Hyelim cooed as she lowered her hand again, unable to keep the smile off her lips. But as the woman in front of her bowed respectfully, Hye let out a small gasp of surprise, flinching and pulling her hand back to herself. "W-why are you bowing?"
@☁ Hyelim "Y-yeah, your dress it's lovely. I wouldn't want to have ruined it." Hyejin chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of her neck, slightly calloused fingers brushing over her skin and she nodded at the womans words, understanding. "Yeah I don't know if I could wear one as long as that, you look beautiful though." The woman nodded a little, blowing her hair from her face again, the chunky cut, blonde strands never having learnt to behave. She tried not to pity the woman when she spoke of the men and their gazes, pity was a horrible thing. Though one of the woman's words caught her and she tried not to choke on her own tongue.
Queen?
Hwasa patted her chest and coughed lightly, nodding as she tried to play it off, not wanting to woman to know she hadn't realised she was the queen. The warrior had been in the wastes for too long and was too oblivious about the world. "Well...men can be like that I guess. Even I get stared at and I'm not in a pretty dress like you, it can't be help....no no it's fine." She insisted when the woman spoke of rambling, a slight smile tugging at her own lips and her eyes curved at the edges. "Don't worry about it."
"I'm Hyejin." The warrior chuckled, finding their similarity quite amusing and she added extra emphasis to the end of her name, nodding before running a hand back through her hair, "You can call me Hwasa though, since we're so similar." Hyejin hadn't gone by her nickname for many years, since she had still lived in Oceanside but this was a curious situation and she didn't want to insult the queen of the region. "Nice to meet you Hyelim." The blonde fell into a deep bow out of natural respect before rising.
@☾ Hwasa The way the strange woman was looking at her was completely different from the stares she had gotten inside. She didn't look at her as if she was some piece of meat to devour. It was sort of comforting. Yet, Hyelim couldn't help but look down, trying to hide the small smile playing over her lips. Her cheeks had flared back up again, her eyes fixating themselves on what the woman was doing with her thumbs.
"T-this dress?" Hye asked, giving a quick glance up before looking back down. "I-it doesn't matter. I'll have more soon enough. Although I'll probably ask for them to be a little... more petite. This is a little too much for me." She grabbed the flowing silken skirts and lifted them lightly, before proceeding to drop the heavy material back down. "I like to feel air on my legs, y-you know?"
Hyelim pouted lightly at the woman's words, glancing back towards the castle and the throne room. "Y-yeah... I just couldn't handle the way some of the men were looking at me... My friend said it was something any queen should learn, but... I just wanted to dance with him...." She sighed, shaking her head slowly. "I'm rambling...."
Finally daring to look up at the woman in front of her, Hyelim was quick to hold out her hand. It wasn't one of the elegantly practiced moves she had been though, this was just her the way she usually was. "I'm Hyelim, or Hye. Depends what you find easiest to say," she cooed, smiling slightly. As long as the woman wouldn't call her Your Highness, it would be lovely.
@☁ Hyelim Hyejin was able to tell the the woman she'd bumped was important, the silken material hugging her slim waist before billowing to the pavement screamed 'wealth' and her elegant high cheek bones and small, pretty lips carried an etheral beauty. The blonde was almost concerned her hold on the womans waist had caused a bruise, she seemed so delicate. The exile caught the womans stuttered words and her flush traveled further down her neck, mortified, she'd obviously just interrupted something private and she cursed herself and her horribly inappropriate timing, rubbing the back of her head and hiding behind a few golden strands of hair as she chuckles.
"Well, I'm still sorry...I hope I didn't damage your dress, it looks beautiful..." She'd meant to say 'expensive' but the words clumsily slipped from her lips before she could stop them and she just wanted to go hide in a tree somewhere, feeling as if she was making a fool of herself. The warrior continued to fiddle with the loop on her pants, playing with it and fitting her thumb inside of it, unable to stay still for short periods of time and her lips tugged into a gentle grin, almost a smirk.
"I uh- I saw there was a big party inside, needed to go for a bit of a walk?" Hyejin tilted her head slightly, pink lips pursing gently though the skin was ever so slightly chapped from the hot wind and the dry desert.
@☾ Hwasa Hyelim sighed lightly as she looked out over the beautiful landscape, letting her mind wander freely for the first time that night. If she could get moments like this to herself, then maybe being queen would be tolerable. Maybe... Mir could help too, no doubt about that, but she would need time by herself too so she could unwind.
Yet, unwinding would prove to be hard tonight. Hye was still lost in her own thoughts as something soft hit her shoulder, quickly nudging the inattentive queen off her balance. Without any means of grabbing onto something, Hyelim prepared herself to hit the ground. But no matter how long she kept her eyes closed, ready for the impact, it never came. Instead, she came to realize that whoever had bumped into her had managed to grab a hold of her waist, easily steading her as she was pulled back up. She felt her cheeks blush up, wondering who her strong saviour had been.
But the sight that awaited her when she opened her eyes were far from what she had though. There was no knight in shining armour standing in front of her. It was a woman, beautiful blond hair brushing enclosing a beautiful face. At the corner of the woman's lips, just off on her cheek, Hyelim noticed a small beauty-mark, making the woman look as regal as any queen should. She found herself lost in the woman's beautiful looks for a second before her eyes wandered down, taking in the less regal, but somewhat revealing clothing the woman wore. The brown leather vest and pants she wore almost seemed a size to small, hugging the woman's full curves tightly. Hyelim's teeth tugged lightly at her bottom lip, her hands fumbling as she brushed some stray hair out of her eyes and behind her ear. "Y-yeah, I'm... I'm fine," she answered, swallowing heavily as she looked back up at the strange woman.
@☁ Hyelim Hyejins hands brushed subconsciously against her thighs as she wandered through the gardens, two empty leather loops sewn to her pants were empty of their daggers and he thumbs fiddled with the strips, not comfortable without her weapons. The woman curves were held tightly by tight brown leather pants and vest to keep her chest warm, gentle cheesecloth sleeves peeking out at her arms as her toughly chopped blonde hair brushed her shoulders, grateful for the fresh air. Her soft boots were silent against the paved walkways, turning one of the corners before her body bumped into somethinh and she let out a soft 'oh!'.
The warrior hardly recoiled from the nudge, her hands instantly darting out to catch the person who she'd bumped, hands finding the womans waist and she steadied the two of them, not wanting the stranger to fall. "Ah- my apologies. Sorry i wasnt paying attention." Hyejin chuckled, making sure the woman was steady before stepping back, brown eyes lifting to the womans face and her cheeks bloomed gently, she was incredibly beautiful. "Are you okay?"
@☾ Hwasa Hyelim was still looking around as she approached the courtyard. None of the guards had noticed her so far, probably still looking for her in the throne room. A smile played over her lips as she lifted the skirt of her dress, speeding as fast as she could past another grand corridor, finally reaching the open air of the courtyard. This place had always been her favorite spot whenever she would visit the palace. The open air, the beautiful plant and the view... Oh god, the view.
The young queen made her way over to one of the large balcony like structures that looked out over the grasslands, watching the green stretch towards the desert at the horizon. She let out a small sigh, her whole body finally relaxing for the first time that night. Being queen was hard work...
The queen stood there silent, enjoying the light kiss of the breeze against her shoulders. The skirt of her dress flowed out behind her own the ground, making it look like a small waterfall down her back that ended in a small lake by her feet. It was a beautiful dress, although a little too much for Hyelim's own taste.
@❊ Jinki Just as she was adjusting the weight so she wouldn’t drop it, she was a bit surprised to see him take it back once more. Then hearing what he said, she only smiled warmly in thanks to him. “Its this way, its not really all that far.” Leading him, she made sure that he was following her before leading him through a few twists and turns. When she finally arrived into the kitchen, she cleared a place at the counter for it before nodding at him. “Thank you again for carrying this for me, you didn’t have to but you did which makes it really nice.”
She felt liked she needed to thank him so she looked around a bit before turning back to him. “Let me make you a few quick snacks as a thank you, I promise it really wont take all that long and you can take it with you if you do not wish to eat it here,” she said looking to him.
@☁ Jessica Well, that was a relief. He'd been worrying that no one would turn up and he'd be stood there with the fish in his arms, standing awkwardly and waiting for someone to take them off him. And Onew made that relief audible, sighing happily with a big grin on his face. He really didn't want to have to slink back home with the fish still on his person - and that was entirely possible. It had crossed his mind at one point that he may have been pranked.
But seeing the young woman come over and assure him that she had ordered the fish, Onew was relieved.
"Great," he said cheerfully, handing the heavy basket over.
Onew turned around, about to leave, when he remembered where his home was. Sure, he could hang around this kingdom for a while but Onew really couldn't abandon his previous lighthouse for too long.
It was then that he finally realised that she may have been struggling with the weight of the basket. Onew wasn't exactly the most observant of people. He had plenty of strengths but being aware of his surroundings wasn't really one of them.
But, to rectify his mistake, he reached forward and took the basket from her arms with a smile. "I'll carry it in for you." He glanced around at all the archways, confused as to which way he was to go. "Which way is it?"
@❊ Jinki Being a slave, she really had no set job in the castle, only being told where to go each day. In a sense she was glad, she didn’t have to stay in one place and grow bored. Today she was helping in the kitchen and had been told to go pick up some fish for the dinner later on tonight they wanted to prepare. So once Jessica had done her duties, she changed to go out before heading to where she was told to meet the person that was bringing it.
She was running a bit late so when she got there, she looked around until she heard a voice calling. Hearing the word fish, she smiled as she went over and bowed her head. “I think that is for me…thank you so much for bringing it out.” She held out her arms to take it, wondering if this was going to be heavy or not.
@☁ Jessica Was this really where he was supposed to be? Onew stared at the basket of fish in his arms, smelling the fresh, fishy scent that only was only native to the Oceanside Kingdom.
How had he ended up here? He'd just been strolling around the streets of his kingdom, waving to people he knew and chatting to others, when a servant from the palace ran into him - literally.
She'd apologised profusely, picking up the basket she'd dropped and then shoved it into Onew's arms. "Can you do me a favour?" She'd asked, panicked.
Onew had stared at her, wide eyed and anxious. But out of friendliness, he agreed with a smile.
Which led him here to the Grasslands Kingdom, where he was supposed to deliver this fish.
"Hello?" He called out, unsure. "I brought the fish!"
@☁ Godfrey Gao Water is delicate, beware it as something precious, it doesn`t bite you, it isn`t dangerous, accept it, and its will. Silence at the river, but at the same time wild as the thousand storms. If you tame it, it will give you the gift of life. Water belongs to everyone who appreciates its existence, its function in this swirling globe. Everything goes in circles. Earth, sun, galaxy, life. Twitched with his eyes as an single straw of an eyelash lurged it way into his eye, it stung, sensitive as an egg that breaks in an instant aren`t you alerted to it. ”aah so troublesome” ha mumbled under his breath, pointing a finger, carving gently onto the edge of is socket, gently tapping onto his eye, blinking irresistibly to it as the lid wouldn`t leave, it was almost glued to the ball.
“How bold of you” a broad voice dastard passed the jungle of flowers, earning the very attention of the young male. Lurking in the shadows, a cloaked dressed individual, making its presence clear by the great contrast of the bright colors and the dim onyx. Of an shade of blue analyzed the hooded man, pointy ears letting the words slide in. The boy loosened his positure, leaning into the petals with crossed arms. “ Water is precious indeed sir… Far too precious for a greedy reasoning, stopping it to be free, to share. “ the male boldly replied, closer to stranger came, circling him like a prey he had targeted. Hamin sensed something icky about this male, as filthy hairy fingers laid their prints onto his chin, lifting it.
The brunette, motioned his body to pull out of grip, gently pushing onto the figure. ”How bold of you…. Breaking anothers personal space eh?” a smirk curled up onto his face, an eyebrow tweaked upwards. Something odd was with his aura, the man in a whole. However, he couldn`t exactly put his finger on what. Swiftly, the boy grabbed the water spray, placing one hand over his hips. ” Well if you don`t have more business here, please let me continue my work”
@☼ Hamin The sound of raucous laughter filtered through Godfrey’s ears as he treaded across the palace grounds. He recognized the voice as one belonging to one of the many guards stationed around area. Most of them were unreliable, stupid fellows who put more effort into winning card games than doing their jobs. If not for the sheer size of the kingdom, Godfrey was willing to bet that the throne would have fallen to enemy forces by now. Given the state of current political affairs, that was still very much a possibility. As he watched the two bowmen clamor on about stray cats, Godfrey found it increasingly hard to believe that the safety of King Seokjin lied in the hands of soldiers like them. These were troublesome times indeed.
Godfrey rounded the corner, his cloak trailing behind him like a shadow. It was then that his eyes found the peculiar sight of a servant boy surrounded by roses, dousing himself with water. Godfrey traced the outline of the boy’s profile, from the elegant slope of his nose, to the curve of his parted lips, and the gentle bob of his Adam’s apple as he drank. The servant appeared entrenched in his own little world, unaware to Godfrey’s presence as he approached.
“How bold of you.” He brushed his fingers against the crimson petals, appreciating the velvet texture on his skin. Godfrey swept through the garden at a languid pace, resembling a giant raven as the darkness of his robes contrasted with the warm glow of sunlight. “Water is precious,” he continued slowly, circling around to lift the boy’s chin with a lazy hand, as if he was simply another flower. “Far too valuable for you to be drinking, no?”
@☁ Godfrey Gao The sun was set right on center of the sky, shining down upon the kingdom. Watering the flowers, lilies, lavendel, roses as red as the blood in your veins, the refreshing smell of nature, the only smell of freedom in this rotten kingdom. Drops of water, gently trailing onto each leaf, sparkling as diamonds due to reflection of the sun. Such a pretty sight. The boy bent down, closely with his nose to the very single white rose, it odour, so pure. “A rose can always be painted red…” whispers escaping his lips, an ache hit the very spot of his heart. Nerves wrecked to a huge tangle of memories flooding back. “Pure huh? N-not anymore…” Motioning over to where to guards were listening, leaning into, straightened in his back to a column. They were speaking, perhaps about the necessary information he attended to obtain? “ Oh remember that cat that we thought was a intruder! Hilarious!” … “ Yes you should have seen your face! You almost shot it!HHAAH Stupid cats!” Tsk… the boy gritted his teeths, tightening his fist, so visibly showing his veins. Kittie`s aren`t stupid, you fools. He thought.
Yu Hamin.. Don´t get worked up by such.. They didn`t kill it, so they don`t deserve to die, yet. Seriously, where to even gain such information? Perhaps.. “Advisers” mumbles forced out of his dried lips. Concluding that he must seek deeper into the system. Dig into the core. B-but, where to even find one, in a time like this? Weren`t they mostly inside discussing idiotic politics and drinking their overpriced tea? The brunette sighed, holding onto the water spray. “Thirsty…” Aiming the spray at the direction of himself, he opened his mouth widely as he sprayed water at his face. Almost ic the feeling, such bliss it felt, clearing up his throat, energizing and soaking his face wet. “Back to work Hamin… “
