@⚓ Sunny {{sorry for super late reply. Okay, let's get this done!}}
For a second, he thought he heard her voice; thought she had come to forgive him, that, somehow they could work it out. But his hopes were crashed when he whipped his head around only to see an unfamiliar girl. "You think that's funny, huh?" He choked out a scoff, his forehead creasing in frustration and pain. He let out a short laugh void of humour. "I suppose everyone knows now," he shook his head, mocking himself. Under his breath, he muttered, "How could I be so stupid?"
He had let her in. He had been a fortress and yet he'd let Krystal into his heart. That hadn't been in the plan. It hadn't been in any plan. The alliance came first - it always came first - and there was no room inside his soul for love.
Swearing under his breath, he stepped towards the doors that would lead outside, rolling up the creased scroll and pushing it into his satchel. He had been given the option for a messenger to bring the scroll but he had chosen to take it himself. He needed it to remind him why he had done this and why he had come here. He needed to stop fogging his thoughts with her.
But he couldn't. He was either thinking about her or forcing himself not to think about her. It was always all about her.
Mir took a step forward, something crunching underneath his foot. It was the sound of her heart being smashed.
@☁ Mir Sunny has seen everything. From the alliance to the aftermath of it. She didn't quite understand why but she new it's for the better....correct? It was this day the alliance between two kingdoms were formed and she needed to think positive. She stood at the doors of the palace, blank stare.
She couldn't believe it, he threw her way like this. Like she was a toy. It hurt but. This was life. A princesses life wasn't easy you know. Her gaze went from the ground to his face.
She closed her eyes and tears fell. It wasn't fair. All her life she wanted to be with the right man. She swore she found him but the alliance proved wrong. "No" was the only word spoken in her mind as well as his. She open the castle doors and walked outside to see the male. The other that has made his choice.
She picked up the bottom of her Seafoam colored gown and walked down the stairs to the male. She couldn't end on this not. Even if he chose the place over love. She wanted him to be happy as much as she wanted herself to be happy. But it wasn't quite that simple. "M-Mir..." She called softly at him.
Sunny's eyes widen at the snapped handles on the scroll and stopped in her tracks, she has only seen him once like this and it was not a pretty sight. His anger showed in his actions and hers showed on her face. She started to cry, unable to stop anymore. It was too much and she was emotional.
"M-Mir....you don't....don't...."
Her sentence as left hanging. She hoped he knew what was coming next. It was quite simple to see that she was affected by his decision.
@⚓ Sunny Mir's knuckles were progressively turning white as he twisted the scroll in his fists. This was what he had come here for; an alliance with this kingdom to ensure the continuation of his. But now that it was confirmed - now that he was leaving - he felt like he had lost so much more than he'd gained.
Seeing the tears dangling in her eyes as he'd told her. He'd chosen the alliance over her. It was always going to be that way. His kingdom was his first love.
But as he scrunched the parchment in his fists, he felt like he was scrunching her heart. All it had taken was one word - a word to crunch her up and throw her in the gutter. He could hear the memory of his voice in his own head, the echoing of the word "No." It sounded robotic. Aristocratic. In one word, he had been denying any hope that anything was sustainable between the two of them.
He had to choose the alliance. He had to choose his kingdom. That was the thing; there /was/ no choice. Even if she kept insisting that they could find away, if the king refused an alliance until Mir stopped having romantic connections with his cousin, well... there was no other way.
The scroll's wooden handles snapped in the strength of Mir's grip, his anger and frustration pent up into his crushing hands. He cursed, unraveling the scroll and looking at the scrunched up parchment, the confirmation of the alliance.
Was it worth it? It had to be. He'd make it worth it.
