@δ Minah Jongin looked up at her in surprise when she didn't mention the police and she didn't yell at him or tell him off for being crazy, she actually asked him for help and he flushed a little as she touched him. Stepping away so she wasn't touching his face anymore he nodded shyly, "O-oh, okay, I c-can help," he said softly, biting at his bottom lip nervously. He'd never been asked for help like this before, and he wasn't sure how to act about it. He studiously ignored Kai's suggestion to her, he was pretty sure that wasn't how normal interactions went and he didn't really want her to slap him.
/You're more of a than she is,/ Kai grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest and rolling his eyes.
Jongin pouted a little but didn't dignify that with a response, he just headed back into the grocery store because he knew it was cold outside and the cashier, Minah, wasn't really dressed for the weather. He didn't want her getting sick because he was incompetent.
@δ Minah Jongin reluctantly stopped and turned to face the cashier, looking miserable and apologetic as he bowed his head, "Please don't call the police ma'am, I promise I'm leaving and I won't bother you ever again," He said quickly, his eyes welling up with tears and he looked firmly down at the ground. He knew he was being weird and probably creepy, and she was probably just stalling until the police got there and he would end up being questioned again and probably sent to the psyche ward for a week. Just like the last time someone got freaked out because he'd accidentally said too much to Kai while he was out in public. Kai was going to get him permanently locked up some day, and then Kai would have no one but himself to blame when he was stuck in the same several blocks of the city for the rest of their life.
@δ Minah /Damn, did you get a look at her ? She's begging for it, just her against the counter Jonginnie,/ Kai purred, a little too close to his ear to be comfortable. He whined and tried to push him away but his hands went right through him, damn him and his convenient ability to completely non-corporeal at will. It would be so much more satisfying if Jongin could actually beat him with something.
/You want to beat me Jonginnie?/ Kai asked in amusement, raising an eyebrow as he stepped closer and wrapped an arm around Jongin's waist, /You want to teach me a lesson? Bend me over and pound me with your--/
"Would you stop?!" Jongin shrieked, jerking away from Kai and all but sprinting into another aisle, not that it would do him any favors because Kai was already there and waiting for him before he even made it around the corner, again damn him.
/Calm down, you're going make the cashier think you're a total freak. Oh wait, she already does./ Kai cackled, grinning as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Shut up..." Jongin whined, huffing and turning away from Kai, but his shoulders slumped a little bit because he knew that Kai was right. She really probably did think he was crazy and she would never try to talk to him again. Sighing softly he left the grocery section, he would come back a different night to get what he needed. He stopped by the section that displayed the flowers they were promoting, all of them in pretty reds and oranges in the fall spirit. He picked up on of the red roses and shyly walked up to the counter, handing the cashier more than enough to cover the rose, making sure to avoid eye contact the entire time. He slid the rose closer to her when he was done and mumbled out a soft, "I'm really sorry," before he turned to quickly scurry towards the exit before she called the police on him or something.
@δ Minah Jongin was reaching up, trying to grab his favorite flavor of cup noodles but it was just the tiniest bit out of reach. Kai was watching him with amusement leaned against the neat row of packaged noodles right next to him. "You could help me you know!" Jongin whined, huffing and going up on his tip toes for one last valiant effort that resulted in him losing his balance and tipping sideways. He stumbled rather ungracefully a few steps before he managed to catch himself and he threw a scathing glare at Kai who was laughing at him. "You are such a jerk! Why can't you ever just help me?" He demanded, crossing his arms over his chest, he was too busy focusing on Kai that he completely missed when the cashier appeared out of nowhere. Kai, of course, hadn't bothered to warn him at all when he saw her approach so it nearly gave Jongin a heartattack when he heard a voice coming from behind him. He quickly spun around, his face turning a brilliant shade of red that could make a tomato jealous, and he opened and closed his mouth rather unattractively for several long seconds as he tried to come up with some kind of response to what he'd just been asked.
"I...um...I...uh....w-was j-just...um....n-nob-body. I was t-talking to nobody, just myself.... I'm a nobody..." Jongin mumbled quickly, stumbling over his words as he slowly started to back away from the girl. He wanted to just bury himself in a hole, or get run over by a bus, or something that would result in him permanently never having to live through this level of embarrassment ever again.
/Real smooth, no wonder you're such a lady killer./ Kai said, rolling his eyes and looking at the cashier with unmistakable lust. /I just want to bend her over the counter and--/
"I don't want to hear it!" Jongin frantically covered his ears, accidentally talking out loud much louder than he meant to in a vain effort to drown out the rest of Kai's sentence. He was literally going to die of mortification any second now, this was awful, this was why he didn't try to interact with pretty people, or cute people, or y people.
@δ Minah Jongin drew his jacket tighter around himself to keep out the chill of the autumn air. It hadn't been nearly this cold earlier, but now that the sun had gone down the temperature had dropped significantly. He could see his breath in a cloud of condensation in front of his face with each exhale and it only served to remind him how much he hated the cold.
/You don't have to come out this late you know, you're the one who insists on being a vampire./ Kai reminded him, a smirk curling his lips as he walked beside Jongin on the sidewalk. He didn't have to, but he had discovered years ago that it unnerved Jongin more if he acted human than if he just floated around all the time.
"Right... no." Jongin mumbled, not giving Kai anymore acknowledgement than that, honestly he was supposed to be trying to ignore him. He didn't like talking to Kai when they were out in the open, and Jongin was immensely relieved to see the bright lights of his favorite grocery store up ahead. It was open 24 hours and not in the greatest part of town so not many people ventured there at night. Jongin could go in, get his shopping done, without worrying about Kai or people giving him strange looks because he was walking around talking to himself.
"Okay, I need ramen, butter, milk, eggs, and pancake mix. Don't let me forget the pancake mix," he told Kai, more out of habit than because Kai ever bothered to remind him when he forgot things. At least not until he was already back at home and curled up under his covers ready to sleep.
/And I need that cashier with the nice ./ Kai remarked, his tongue flicking out to wet his lower lip as he eyed said cashier. She was almost always working at night, and both Jongin and Kai had developed a rather small obsession with her. Okay, Kai had developed an obsession, Jongin just tried to function normally around her while Kai was whispering filthy things in his ear and fueling his wet dreams for the rest of the week. Anymore Jongin went bright red the moment he saw her and tried to duck into an aisle as quickly as he could to avoid eye contact. He would never understand Kai's limitless confidence with people, Jongin was a mess just thinking about talking to someone, let alone actually following through with it.
