@kihyun y. › demi god。 Hyeri simply bustled around the kitchen, pulling out ingredients from the refrigerator and the cupboards, at times having to climb up onto the counter with a nimble grace. His comment about secrets not having negative consequences made her snort quietly, and she set an armful of baking goods on the counter. Secrets could kill, she knew that much. No idea if her father was still around, but she knew Hera would find it quite easy to do away with children in this day and age. A particularly virulent strain of some disease, enough even to destroy the most powerful of demigods. Granted, mortal children and their mothers would suffer as well, but all would be fine as long as Zeus' ill-gotten get never made it through infancy, at least not without requiring much assistance to live.

His query as to the offer had her nodding, and she hauled back a load of bowls and baking sheets before putting a little toque on her head. The hat was almost a third her size, and she near wobbled before steadying herself and setting about measuring out ingredients. Four different types of cookies were on her agenda today - oatmeal, chocolate chip, peanut butter, and sugar - all with the sugar in the online recipes halved. It was going to be interesting, for sure.

Kihyun watched as Hyeri take the rag from him and proceed to cleaning the rag, muttering a "thanks" before adding, "Though I could have done it myself." He had only let her help him as he found it impolite to decline it. Feeling the writing pad leave his fingertips, he looked to see Hyeri giving him a cheeky smile and made a "shh" motion, after which she wrote something on the pad. He cocked his head, almost curious, and read the words on the pad. He looked up at Hyeri before getting back to reading. As much as he was curious about what those things were, he decided not to pursue it further. He wasn't the busybody kind, after all. As he continued reading, a thoughtful look crossed his face.
"It is true that most people here seem to have secrets," he agreed. Having worked in the hotel for quite a while now, he had noticed that the people there had in one way or another acted rather strangely. Not that he wanted to find out what their secrets were. He just wanted to get some clues as to who his father was.
"But I don't think that those secrets would lead to any negative consequences," he continued, frowning.
Seeing the other setting the Tupperware container, he walked over to the kitchen island and returned Hyeri the pad before opening the Tupperware container. He looked fruits in the container, feeling thirsty all of a sudden. It wasn't surprising, seeing as he hadn't drunk anything for a while, coupled with the fact the weather was really warm. He turned to Hyeri
"I supposed you are offering some of these?" he asked, raising an eyebrow while tilting his head

Hyeri was having a bit of a hard time separating Eileithyia from herself - not in the fashion of shoving the goddess into a closet, but more of having to separate the memories and ideologies from her present body. Granted, this body was one created by Eileithyia herself - Hyeri WAS Eileithyia, but it was like having an audio book playing in her brain while she was trying to focus on something very delicate. Sometimes she slipped up and Eileithyia bled through, but seeing as how this body was one of a series of test runs involving how well Eileithyia could keep on the downlow and keep her physical body and deity one separate.

So far so good.

Hyeri gently took the rag from him as he took her paper pad, making a show of rinsing it out in the sink while actually just spelling the water and dirt to fall from the fabric along with some of the stray streaks her companion may have left behind. WIping her hands on her apron, she turned back just as he finished her pad and looked up at her. A cheeky smile came naturally to her lips and she made the universal "sh" motion with a wink before taking the pad and writing some more down.

/Lots of things,/ she wrote. /Everyone in this hotel has skeletons in their closets. If they tell you they don't, they're lying for sure./ Hyeri handed the pad back and stood for a few seconds in silence, then nodded and went to the fridge to pull out a Tupperware container full of chopped fruit, setting it and some little forks on the large kitchen island and gesturing to it. Was a bit unseasonably warm, and nothing was better than chilled fruit to cool down.

Eileithyia simply smiled and pulled the water back into the sink, making sure the ground and the path the water took was bone dry. It had taken her very many human lifetimes to learn to be good natured, or at least even more so than before. Children's insults (and indeed, this young cousin of hers, though larger than her in this body, was very very young compared to her millennia of existence) hardly fazed her anymore, not when she had bigger issues to worry about. Hera, for one. One very large, very major one.

It didn't even bother her that this boy seemed to have some great emotional hurts that she couldn't readily heal. He was a demigod, a son of the first 3 brothers - he would live for quite a long time provided some jealous mistress or wife wanting their child fast-tracked to the throne didn't kill him first. But this hurt boy's small crumb of approval simply made her smile more broadly and crouch down to pat his shoulder. The physical contact only amplified her searching magic more, and she sensed an overbearing female presence lingering on the boy. Abuse. No hint of Hades in the boy's life...

That information took but a second or two to process through, and Hyeri stood up again, brushing off her apron and holding out her hand for the rag the boy used to clean the floor up. Ah... not the boy. Kihyun. About a half year older than Hyeri. At his question, she shook her head, taking back her hand to pull out a pen and paper pad she always kept in her apron pocket. Flipping to an unused page, she wrote out her name in graceful script, along with "Too much talking spoils everything," before handing it to Kihyun.

You can still be good natured even with what I've just said, huh? *the corner of my mouth briefly twitches up in a faint, amused smile before the smile is replaced by my usual serious look* Maybe you aren't so bad after all... *mutters to myself so that you wouldn't hear. I don't like admitting these kind of things, after all. continues to clear up the mess, not noticing you helping me. turns to you* You sure don't talk much, do you? *pauses for a moment before continuing* The name's Kihyun, by the way.

@hyeri l. › eilethyia。 *eyes widen in shock seeing the pot fell down to the floor with a loud "crash!".stares at the mess, being silent for a moment. sighs after that and goes to clean up the mess, feeling somewhat responsible for the mess. holds up a hand* No need to thank me. I'm only doing it because I feel somewhat responsible for the mess and nothing else. *blinks a couple of times when I receive the note from you. reads it and frowns* Are you really sure you like helping people? You may have some sort of selfish reasons, whether you are aware of it or not. That's just how the majority of people are like. *rolls my eyes after that* Just so you know, not everything can be made better with just treats. Some scars just cannot be closed. *says the last part bitterly*

pursing my lips softly, I nod a few times, a small sigh leaving my lips, I reach up to run a hand through my hair, my head tilting slightly to the side in thought
well- it depends. if it's a hard piece to learn, it'll take a few days. usually, if I put my mind to it, it'll simply take a day or so.

offering a sympathetic nod, i merely purse my lips. i honestly can't imagine how difficult that must be for you, and there was a great degree of sympathy from me. i couldn't imagine how much bullying that would warrant and almost as a side note i remind myself that really--i should help humans further research in that area
wait, that's awesome, so you can learn by ear right? how many times does it take you to memorize and replay a whole piece?

oh! the piano, i play the piano. i taught myself how to play, which i guess was the gift i had. i dont have to have the music in front of me in order to play. i just have to hear it.

-only narrowly avoids the majority of the damp because I jumped back at the impact of the pot on the sink wall, but still has soapy water on my apron-
-in that time, the feelers I sent out tell me you're one of Uncle Hades' children, and by a human woman at that-
-looks between you and the puddle on the floor, but doesn't know which to prioritize, much less how to answer you-
-doesn't talk much, if at all-

-thinks a bit, then gives a quiet huff of decision and looks up at you-
-grabs a pen and pad from my apron pocket, happy they didn't get too wet-
