@jongin k. › poseidon。 This was fun. Actually fun. Being able to simply just talk to someone. No one needed him for his own messages anymore. His advice wasn't the sacred words mortals were looking for, if he were gonna be honest with himself. Half the time, they didn't even understand who he was when he came to them. Only that a god watching out had sent him. But this was a mundane activity and he was enjoying it as he always did.
Someone was taking his advice and in return, paying him in his own wacky form of chat. Morpheus had noticed that he'd never actually ran into Poseidon whenever he had checked into the hotel. Of course, the other could be far busy with more important things than sitting around in a hotel but Morpheus knew him. He was well aware of the god's long spent time among the mortals. It was pretty interesting and made for crazy story times between their talks. Who would have thought that his life would be so mortal-like. Imagine that. Poseidon spouting off to you about his favorite surfboard and wife troubles. And mortals praised this guy.
Taking in the information he was given, he slumped in his seat and thought a while. So the goddess had taken on a mundane life and was m.i.a. was what he was getting. Eye twitching at the god's absorb question, his brows furrowed comically. "Little do-hickey magic? What am I, a genie, Po? I feel undermined at most." his tone was of a joking manner but he was going to take this investigation seriously. If Poseidon was asking, it had to be something of importance. And if he was assuming correctly, he was supposed to roam the dreams of this lunatic and find the woman. Or find out if she ever comes back to him, being that this was the future. If he would be reunited with the goddess.
"I'll help you as best I can but this is going to take a huge tole on me, physically so you owe me big time, you goof." it was an innocent threat but he wasn't joking. It was going to drain him and he did want that promise to be kept. Sitting up in his seat, he gestured to the area they were in and frowned. "Do you want to do this here or were you expecting to do this some other time?"
@mark t. › morpheus。 He sits here often. Almost every day now, with a cup of coffee in his hands as he gazes out of the windows of the hotel that was now considered his home. A hotel of course, filled with the most luxury that the world could offer and yet at the same time also a prison. Confined, trapped, hiding? Hiding perhaps was the word. Hiding from those that wanted to kill the, hiding from those that wanted revenge, all but forgotten by the mortals that prayed to them almost unknowingly. Taehyung wonders some days what being loved again would feel like, what being worshiped again would be like. He craves the freedom.
And he has it, in a sense, its not like he's trapped here, he's still allowed to roam around humans and to be around them but was there truly any reason? None that Taehyung could think of, and though his heart aches he knows that technically he has no place in the world. And yet he still gives to the mortals that don't remember him, he offers them ideas, solutions, he heals them, he teaches them and here he sits, moping, watching the outside world that was no longer his, listening the the voices that echoed in his head, the ones that drew him to the mortals, the ones that would never leave.
A small sigh. The man merely turns. His cup was empty now. He brushes shoulders with another man, the gentlest of touches. It's silent. It's only for the briefest of seconds, the smallest of touches but it's enough to have Taehyung stumbling, his face blank with shock and he almost takes fall, stumbling forward though as he reaches out one hand manages to catch the edge of the trash can, steadying himself and now Taehyung's mind is running. The voices, they were back, yes, clamoring in the back of his mind but for a moment, Taehyung had felt silence, not even a single echo in his head, not even his name. Throwing away his coffee cup, Taehyung's already turning, eyes searching for the culprit, no not the culprit. His savior.
@mark t. › morpheus。 Poseidon was the god that met everyone, especially women. With his striking good looks (a quote from him), it wasn't hard for people to want to talk to him. Or it was his status in his field of work, but nevertheless, Poseidon got around.
He never spent his time at the hotel, though he was a frequent visitor and had his own room that was practically always booked by him, but he was never inside the hotel. He usually spent his time outside of it, day and night, and only came back occasionally to sleep by himself or get one of the godly showers (and those were definitely worth his money). He knew many mortals as well as gods, but the mortals are what he spent his time around.
“They never fail to amuse me, those silly mortals.” Poseidon chuckled, leaning back in the lobby chair where he sat across his friend, Morpheus. Poseidon really enjoyed going to Morpheus for advice, since the latter was mellow and much easier to talk to than even the wisest fish in the ocean. They had grown a bond even before the hotel was built, Poseidon going to him for advice on his wife, or the sea itself. He was a destructive sea god, his anger bubbled up much like boiled water and exploded with the scalding sea. Talking to Morpheus was probably the healing time he needed, even if a lot of their conversations were just talks of random troubles in both of their lives.
“No, they weren't. My information isn't very helpful either.” Poseidon trailed off, letting his fingers run through the sea salt stained strands of hair. “I am looking for someone, a goddess. But I have no idea what name they adopted here in the Mortal World, nor what they look like- it's harder than looking for a starfish in a coral reef.” He sighed, but then, an idea shot through his head and he shot back up in his seat. “You're a guy that knows a lot about what's going on in the heads of mortals - right? Maybe you could do your little do-hickey magic and help me?”
@jiyeon k. › artemis。 Morpheus was already well aware of the answer he was going to receive but there was no harm in an offer. Certainly, the reaction threw him off if anything. Just like the goddess to always be on her guard. Just like any, to be honest. Deterred not, he simply took a step back for his own safety and let a comical simper fall upon his features. Withdrawing his offer with an apologetic nod, he pushed his own luggage up on his shoulder and proceeded to engage in an actual greeting. "Well I'm pleased to come across you in a less formal setting. I almost didn't recognize you as you are, in this form, huntress." gesturing to her visage, a more cheeky smile took the place of the old one. He had once entertained the thought of a casual conversation with the goddess of the hunt but it was a passing thought as time went on. He was yet, still amazed as ages passed and her messages never ceased to change. Her followers still received his dreams from time to time as she called upon him and the content was nothing if not inspiring. Admirable. Of all of the Gods, her messages had always enlarged his empathy toward the mortals. As mundane as they were. A lingering regard of the goddess' stance confirmed he had not been quite clear in his offer and he cleared his throat, his hand meeting the nape of his neck in an awkward attempt to endorse his innocence.
@mark t. › morpheus。 Demeter smiled a bit as she thought about some things that made her happy. Spring and summer, bread and wheat, Persephone in her arms and the day when she found out she was pregnant with Persephone, for she was a beautiful little girl. She closed her eyes and got into the pool as Morpheus had instructed. She was calm for once in the fall months finally. She wasn't content but she was calm, which was something she usually wasn't lately.
@jinah i. › demeter。 The way his face lit up had to be embarrassing but he had no time to dwell on the thought. "Trust me, it'll be fun. I mean, I've never done it before but it'll be fun." he rambled the entire way there about how important it was to clear your mind and think positive. Once making it to the pool, he urged her to make her way in as he thought of a what he could possibly show her that would do anything for the major weight on her shoulders. And then it came to him to just show her what she'd been wanting the entire time. If she couldn't have her daughter in the real world, she could at least dream of her. Tending to the spring time, flowers blooming in her hair as she remembered her.
@jongin k. › poseidon。 Morpheus was finding that he had been spending quite a lot of time roaming the lobby in his most recent stay at the hotel. Though there seemed no reason to harp on the fact so he let it be and continued his aloof drifting as if they were simple strolls through a park. Surveying and secretly scrutinizing the busy bodies in and out of the hotel doors. That was the first couple of days though as he found actually socializing with said guests brought him more... activity. No shocker there. He weighed the odds of someone genuinely luxuriating in watching life go on over playing a role in it and found that the ladder side was overweight. In other words, he needed to get out more.
That's what he had done. He'd dedicated his free time to familiarizing himself with the general public for the remainder of his stay. Not even in the mortal world did he do so, as being a therapist was social enough. At least when it came to humans who were trivial and tedious, to say the least. Here, he was already well acquainted with everyone. Acquaintance was all it had ever been though, the gods only ever calling upon him for assistance in messaging. Except for one specific deity that had entertained a real conversation or two with him once upon an age. This was the soul that he wanted to check in with first. Once he did, he was contented with his decision because the god had not forgotten him and conversation came easily. They adorned a lounge chair after resurrecting their old friendship and let what had been be once more.
This was his current setting, speaking with the god of the sea, other waters, and so on about inconsequential affairs and the such. The usual. "Well I wouldn't put it past the mortals to make up such names. Broseidon is quite interesting though... But they weren't any help to your quest? You said you were in need of something. Are you perhaps, looking for someone? Wait- Don't tell me another war has arisen?" the last part was a joke but the real concern, dim in his eyes, spoke louder than his humorous antics. Morpheus knew war. The dreams of heroes and kings were only ever battle. He was entirely too familiar with the concept. It was all a bit tiring. It'd be nice to know that there was none to come for a long time.
@mark t. › morpheus。 "Perhaps going to the pool will ease my troubled mind." She said as she gazed at the God. As he suddenly gestured to her hand and told her he wanted to try something, she looked at him suspiciously and sighed, the suspicious look soon melting away. "Alright, you can try what you want to try." She said as she granted him permission and her hand. She hoped whatever fun he had in store would ease her thoughts about her daughter.
@mark t. › morpheus。 Patience is a virtue, a phrase Jiyeon often went by when the temperamental blood that courses through the gods' royal veins begins to boil. A hereditary curse, if you may. Nonetheless, she was a woman of grace, anger effortlessly simmering down with a quick exhalation through her nose. She'd have to take into consideration that her message to her fellow companion might've arrived a few hours later than she'd prefer, thus it'll take longer before her actual presence would appear anywhere near Jiyeon. "Hm, guess not---" Fastening the strap over her shoulder, it barely took a blink of an eye for the startled goddess to switch her stance, leg poised behind the other in stability as she raises an arm up in defense -- an instinctive move. "Excuse me?" How awfully comical, she inwardly scoffed, gleaming irises befalling upon the male that had caught her attention just a minute ago. As if the encounter was... well, fated to be so. Holding her stare unto the man before her, she skimmed past his features, engraving each minuscule detail into her mind for future instances where one was bound to stumble upon past acquaintances. Her eyes trail past his countenance to the hand outstretched, mind hastily connecting two to two together as a gentle hue of red blemished the apples of the goddess' cheeks in mild embarrassment. "Oh. My bag. . . it's quite alright. I'm fine, thank you." Sparing the man a curt nod, paired with a subtle haughty look, Jiyeon took cautious steps to the side, unsure of the intention that laid behind his offer.
@jinah i. › demeter。 At that, he took his own moment to ponder an activity that would keep the goddess occupied for her time at the hotel. He wasn't even sure what he should do with himself, let alone Demeter. "Is there anything else besides gardening that may relax your weary mind, perhaps? Maybe dancing, going for a swim. I've visited the pool more than once on some of my stays. It's unwinding." maybe his suggestions were more for himself than her. Who said it couldn't be for both? In a moment of pure excitement, he gathered himself and gestured to Demeter's hand. "I would like to try something. That is, if you can trust me, Godess." the look in his perfectly designed chocolate orbs was nothing if not innocent. All he planned to do was sink her to the bottom of the pool and give her dreams that would soothe her aching soul. Hopefully it worked cause if not, he was facing a powerful soul and that would be no good.
@jiyeon k. › artemis。 Languorous taps against the face of an old mortal read he'd salvaged from a long since dead mundane bookstore were the only apparatus to keeping him occupied as the lively clerk bounced around hurriedly to get him checked in. Whether it was his mere presence or the fact that she actually appreciated her position, he could not tell but to dwell on such thoughts was a waste as he would never have to get to know the soul behind the counter as more than anything but that. This process was probably the most tedious he'd ever had to witness in his undying life and there was never a time where he wasn't practically somnolent when it came to the game of whose-room-will-be-ready-the-quickest. In the midst of his internal griping, the lithe figure bounced back into his line of sight, room card caught up between slender fingers as she beamed, obviously proud of her self-proclaimed quick work. Returning the sentiment, he wordlessly collected his bag and the card and was set to head to the comforts of an excessively lavish suite. That was, until overtaxed orbs landed their gaze on an all too familiar face. It wasn't like the familiar you see, smile at, and proceed to forget. This one was one he had been waiting to encounter again for a while now. A familiar he admired and yet never personally spoke to and there it was. There she was, dropping their gaze just like that. In a moment of adrenaline and fear of losing a good chance, he let his legs carry him those few feet to her vicinity before it was too late. "I don't suppose you need any help with that?" he questioned, hand already stretched out in offering of his assistance.
@mark t. › morpheus。 Lithe fingers tap along the marble surface of the front desk, coral brims pursed to accentuate a look of impatience that masks the goddess' countenance. How long did it take for one to book a room in a hotel that's renown for the excess of suites available at all time? All Jiyeon had in mind was to strip off her rigid clothing, and slip into the silky duvets that adorned the feathery like mattress. Yet, her once lethargic body began to tense in disappointment, finding discomfort in leaning against the counter. "Forgive me. It took a while to assure your suite was polished and to your highest comfort, glorious Artemis." Hooded eyelids lift to warily glance at the meek being before her, head hung low in shame. However, hatred and pettiness were not what she'd consider her forte. There was much to be done than to plant a seed of grudge for some trivial matter. "It's fine. Have someone my stuff into the room. I'll be up in a second." Scuffling away to heed her orders, Jiyeon was left alone, taking tentative steps towards a crystalline column to grab the duffel bag she'd brought along from the mortal world. Her eyes skim past the newcomers and bustling bellboys scampering past to tend to visitors, dark locks cascading down her shoulders with a tilt of her head as one visitor in particular had her gaze linger for a tad bit longer. Familiarity was the first word that popped into her mind, nonetheless, it wasn't something Jiyeon would pester over. Swiftly brushing the matter aside, she slung the duffel bag over her shoulder and awaited the appearance of her female companion who was due to arrive with her other items.
@mark t. › morpheus。 "Yes Morpheus, I am in grieving for my daughter currently. I miss seeing her face, for she spends too much time in the dark underworld with her husband." It was true, her daughter didn't get kidnapped and it was true that she stayed in the underworld in order to get away from Demeter. It hurt her, but nonetheless she would get over it... eventually. "Yes I know I should be enjoying myself, but for I'm not sure what I should do. For I am too distraught to garden at this time. Is there anything else I could be doing?" She thought aloud, her sad look replaced with a focused look filled with deep thought.
@jinah i. › demeter。 A wide smiled spread across his lips as she recognized him and he pocketed his hands before giving a short bow of the head in acknowledgement. "Ah yes, well- I decided it was a good a time as any to create a new for to roam along in." he retorted playfully but truthfully. His lips curled down at her words and he tilted his head in question of her heartache. "Tell me, Demeter. Are you in grief of your daughter this time?" he couldn't properly sympathize but he wanted to at least soothe her. Being the comprehending soul he was, he could only want but to help. "You should be enjoying your time, no? Taking your mind off of all disturbances and the such, y'know."
"Oh! Morpheus? I didn't see you there, nor did I recognize you. Especially in that form." Demeter said softly. Maybe the God of Sleep could help her in her quest to do something fun while her daughter was with Hades. "How are you doing dear Morpheus, on this fine day that I cannot seem to enjoy?" She asked as her hand combed through her wavy brown hair and a sad look briefly washed over her face. She had to stop thinking about Persephone, she knew that Hades would never hurt her daughter, but the reassurance wouldn't help in knowing that her daughter wasn't there with her currently.
@jinah i. › demeter。 The day began calm and inviting to the dream messenger but it was all too mundane. Too dull and tedious. And that had just been the morning. Every hour passed entirely too slow and Morpheus was beginning to wonder why he had checked in to the hotel again to begin with. Huffing his annoyance at his boredom for the hundredth time that evening, he gathered himself and left the comforts of the fine hotel room to find entertainment among the other occupants of the hotel. For a while, he simply walked, enjoying the serenity and vibe around him but as time passed and he found that nothing peeked his interest for the time being, he grew once more agitated. Instead of making his way back to his room, he set out to make the best of his time here. Making his way to the garden, he walked into a figure all too familiar. "No... Excuse me. I should be more careful, Goddess."
It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the sky was a cheery blue and no dark clouds could be seen for as far as the eye could see. But dear Demeter was not happy. She sat in one of the chairs in the lobby after checking in and stared off into space. She decided to get up and maybe try to go out and have some fun in order to cheer herself up, but she didn't budge from the chair and still sat there. Jinah sighed heavily and thought about how much of a pretty day it was and how sad it was that she couldn't bring herself to enjoy it. "Oh well, I might as well try and make an effort." She thought as she stood up and started walking down the corridor until she accidentally bumped into someone. "Ah! Excuse me..." She said apologetically to the person she had bumped into. She then gazed up at them and thought that they looked familiar somehow.
